FamilyRe: For Nigerian Mothers Who Gave Birth Abroad by hackney(m): 5:54pm On Oct 12, 2010
I'm quite divided on this one.
I know some people that have successfully raised kids abroad and instilled culture and
knowledge of where we come from though .(eg my sis in the U.S).

I  also know some people who have bundled their kids home to
school there so as to learn it all by themselves.

My verdict is that if you are at the risk of raising boys in the west and having them
not wanting anything to do with home, then bundle them home i say! !

Imagine an only child (a son) having male kids that dont want to know about home.
That linage don close be that.

PoliticsRe: Nigeria: Third Fastest Growing Economy In The World - Imf by hackney(m): 10:49pm On Oct 11, 2010
Does oil price really translate to economic growth even if the subsequent revenue is all being looted?
who's feeling the growth? ? the telecomms industry?
You ppl are not serious.

No aspect of the economy has shown improvement and we are the 3rd fastest growth??

Little propaganda sweeps people away too easily in nigeria.
The 5th largest oil producer has no constant power and people are here writing elaborate texts to support this fallacy.
shame.

He's like a scum of the earth monkey and needs to expose his bosses.

PoliticsRe: I Don't Believe In God - Ed Miliband (new Uk Labour Leader) by hackney(m): 6:13pm On Oct 11, 2010
I will not justify atheism because i myself believe in God.
However i simply have questions regarding mass tragedies and disasters.
That's all it is.

PoliticsRe: Only The Best Is Good Enough For Us by hackney(m): 6:03pm On Oct 11, 2010
The obvious issue with the nigerian society is that intellectual standings are worthless to
them.

Infact the intellectual illiterates scorn and make mockery of intellectuals.
They refer to them as people that are bonkers but pay them to write their speeches.

The society has become so materialistic that the way back to a normal society is too far off.
The zeal to painstakingly do things right has no place at all in a society where every single
individual wants to be wealthy overnight.
The government is even worse.

The nigerian society is so helplessly corrupt that mere reading books will not solve it.
Though it is a start.

Sagamite:
I am absolutely lost.

If you don't know (yet) why all these things happen, so why did you bring it up about a debate about God (in such a manner you are using it as evidence of God)?
fair enough.
that is why you would think that my questions are my proof of God's existence.
(R u looking at my posts upside down? ?)

tensor777:
^^Basically you are talking to Hackney who is well known for being a media junkie. Clearly these images are what he obtained from the media and is perhaps preventing him from seeing the bigger picture. undecided undecided undecided

However to answer his question, there is such a thing as free will. Man has been crreated with free will.
WHAT? ?

Also even if man was created with free will does it mean he has a say in occurrence of
natural disasters like volcanic eruptions and earth quakes?

My point is that God should prevent such things from happening to people! !
(and these things happening is why there are people like Miliband who dont believe in God)
PoliticsRe: I Don't Believe In God - Ed Miliband (new Uk Labour Leader) by hackney(m): 3:32pm On Oct 11, 2010
@ sagamite
it seems that you dont understand the purpose of my post.

The summary of my post is this  moral question: Why do these things happen at all?
I personally dont know why God will let it happen.
(never mind if you can explain it scientifically or not, from a God-believing perspective it is unfair )

Wars are terrible and a lot of innocent women and children suffer untold hardship.
Why does God let it? can you or anyone tell me? ?

Some people are born into untold hardship for generations where they cant even eat or drink clean water
while some are born into stupendous affluence where they can afford to buy luxury goods on a whim.
Why does God let such imbalance?

I can describe how Flash floods, tidal waves and tornadoes occur but my question is moral : why does it happen?
(or better still why does God let it happen)
Forget about scientific views of magma flowing from the earth the core and releasing along low pressure points for now.
What i want to know is : why will God let it flow in the night into a village  killing children that have done nothing yet? ?

there must be something about these things that God knows that we dont and when i see him i will
like to know.

Just seen the docu.
Hmm. . . Miscommunication galore.

I think the "tour guide" had difficulties expressing issues accurately while louis was pushing to
shed the issues in the worst possible light.

All in all, it's good to have programs like this(good or bad) aired because if nothing else, at least the spot light
is on.

Next stop , the government
