April07: Hahn, you're on point.
The one that gets me, is the level of security these 'expatriates' get. I mean, a mere Lebanese carpenter suddenly becomes a king and gets to ride with a 'truckload' of soldiers from The Nigerian Army as body guards.. Black fine brothers, scorching in the sun, while the red faced, non English speaking môrôn (call me racist) gets to ride in aircondtioned cars, all alone! Shebi if the soldier dey inside the car e no go fit protect the oyinbo? Rubbish!
And yes! @TheDarkRebel, I can confidently place majority of Africans/Nigerians in the places of the 'guys having drinks'. These are the kinda lazy-aimless-yet-conveying-a-lot conversations we have almost everyday, at our leisure, when chilln' with friends! Thing is, Blacks tolerate alot of crap when its a 'white' (wheter na Lebanese o or Phillipino oo {just imagine}) guy doing it but would draw blood when its a black brother! Tell me about Xenophobia
Just today, one smelly Indian cut the queue at the bank and the cashiers kept 'sir-ing' him while we helpless Nigerians looked on. The only person 'yours trully' who tried to protest was terribly shunned! You needed to see the ela
I am deeply pained The annoying thing is that Indians, Lebanese and fellow asians are all considered dirtier than even blacks by caucasians. Unfortunately, Nigerians don't know the difference. Whenever I have the chance I always like to let them know they are nothing and point out the fact that they stink. I'm actually mixed and I get unneccesary preferential treatment even despite the fact that I was born and bred here and I don do my time for ontop street. It just marvels me. The painful truth is that this is actually the main reason why Africa is still in the stone age. An average black man will travel to Europe, observe the way things are but still come back to Africa and throw pure water nylon out of the window. Its almost as if we consider our home to be a dump. A Nigerian, most especially, will travel to Europe on a tourist visa but will return with an accent and be automatically elevated to "developed" status because of the way he speaks English. Even people who get deported at the airport upon arrivale can suddenly speak american and enjoy pizza and will consider you razz for eating eba with your hands. The one that annoys me the most is when some e-diots try to eat chicken with fork and knife. Jesus! Africa! Smd |

How does he base his theory of blacks not appreciating Frank Ocean's music because he's gay(a black faggit to be precise) just because of what his silly gambling friends said.
There are many other black people have different views and opinions and are open-minded. That Analogy employed is the worst if he actually intended on using that to preach against Racism among blacks. I wonder where he got his facts from that we'd rather prefer a white man dominating than a fellow black. That's mentality is so retardedd considering the tensions among the white and blacks currently You are obviously on the defence here. Of course there are lots of black men who are enlightened and who understand that every man is subject to his own thoughts and not the colour of his skin but the sad truth is that a vast majority are affected by this inferiority complex. I've had friends who worked with Lebanese @ hi-tech and the level of slavery that goes on there is unbelievable. There are a lot of the lebanese who aren't as smart as many Nigerians but we would rather give them the contracts. The stand and supervise and earn more money while we slave under the scorching sun. I remember a friend of mine who was once referred to as a slave but fortunately he is not an asss kisser and he beat the Lebanese guy to a pulp. He got fired while the Lebanese guy still works there as a boss. I can bet you that you'll never get away with that in Lebanon as a black man. Unless you've not had sufficient experience with such cases, you really have to agree with the write up |
Nairaland General › Re: The Black Man. by hahn(m): 9:06pm On Apr 20, 2015 |
I totally agree with you. The black man seems to see other races with lighter skin as superior. I grew up in Ilupeju estate and its presently occupied majorly by Indians. What annoys me is the way their staff worship them even to the point of calling them "master". No kidding. Its easier for our banks to grant loans to foreigners than to our fellow contry men and being light skinned, especially if you have a trace of something "foreign" you tend to get more respect from Africans. More doors are opened to you.
Take the case of the xenophobia attacks going on presently and you'll realise that the black man absolutely detests his fellow black man. In Nigeria, its Ibos against the Yorubas or fulanis against the hausas. Whites always have this preferential treatment given to them by the black man.
The black man has, since the neginning of time, always oppressed his fellow black man. We call ourselves "foreigners" but regard the white man as "master" I've seen too many instances and yes, the black man hates himself. |

These are the top five means of earning cash online today online. Will simply break it down for you starting from the first to the fifth.
1- I'm ( Internet Marketing):: when I say internet marketing It simply means selling of your products/brand and rendering ur service to others eiher offline/online. All you need to do is to create a simple website, containing the products and its description and its possitive effects and how 100% trustworthy it is. And also assure them of returning back their money if it didn't work out as prescribed on the simple website you created. U can as well as get an e commerce websites just like www.jumia.com / / www.aliexpress.com etc! You can allow sellers to market/sell their products to buyers using your e commerce platform I.e websites. If a seller sells any product u will get your own percent on every sell made by a seller. Note: its advisable to get one particular website for your product. And each product should have its own website that is sales page.
2- A M ( Affiliate Marketing):: mostly used by blog and website owners. All you need to do is visit all these top sites sign up for their affiliate programs. And start advertising the affiliate/ referral link presented to you either on your website, blog, forum or social networks such as facebook/twitter or whatsapp.even bbm. Depending on how many contacts you get.
3- B G( Blogging):: aha! Blogging is the third one. So many go into blogging for fun but at a time it pays even more than normal business. Ok see the deal here. As u can see Nairaland is selling ads space? U can get yourself a website built by a standard and well skilled acquired website designer like me. Lols. And do all the necessary configurations on it. Inclusive of the traffic. U can sign up for google adsense , adynamo, promo, and a lot of them. U can even add the affiliate marketing banner to ur website. As a website owner you can easily organise seminar with the influence of your website.
4- B S ( Bulk Sms):: another hot strategy for making money. Who hasn't heard of Bulk sms? Well for those who haven't. You can just goto any bulk sms service provider purchase an sms unit. And resell or send bulk sms for clients. Somehow difficult but easy to go with if you are familiar with the system. Advice: don't jump into this on your own meet a prof on the biz or get yourself a mento to guide you. And you also be smilling at your bank acc. Its a cool biz. You can send sms for church, events, companies , organisations etc... Depending on how you advertise yourself. All for these

Romance › Re: The Selfish Human And The 'unconditional Love' Jargon by hahn(m): 8:09am On Apr 19, 2015 |
You lied. You said the post would be veryyyyyyyyyy long. Lol Excellent write up though. Very logical and sincere. This is the kind of thinking the world needs Oahray: WARNING: This post is veeeeery long. There, you don't have to repeat that obvious fact. Cheers.
UNCONDITIONAL LOVE? Very often, we hear people talk so much about unconditional love - from the starry eyed teenager building webs of fantasy, to the married partner sobered up by chunks of unpalatable reality, to the religious zealot who relishes the thought of being a recipient of divine affection without having to lift a finger.
The general consensus in basically every circle is that love could actually be unconditional.
Well, you might have to step out of the box of mainstream ideology and put on your thinking cap for this. Our first stop... The dictionary.
Unconditional - "not conditional or limited : absolute , unqualified." - Merriam Webster dictionary
- "Not subject to any conditions." - Oxford dictionary
- "Not limited by or depending on any conditions." Longman dictionary
Condition - "something essential to the appearance or occurrence of something else : prerequisite" - Merriam Webster dictionary.
- "a situation or state of affairs that must exist before something else is possible." - Oxford dictionary.
- "something that must exist or happen first before something else can happen." - Longman dictionary.
A merger of these definitions would see unconditional love being described as a love that exists or is shown without any condition or limit. In other words, nothing else has to happen to make such a love exist, and nothing can happen that would make it remain stagnant or die. The kind of love that appears from thin air and remains as constant as the sun. How romantic!
The reality though differs, and not slightly. So we shall examine reality together.
Romantic love Perhaps the most popular of all types of love, is the one between a man and a woman (the not so straight wouldn't like that description very much). Thus at our very first stop, we collide with our first condition for romantic love - the object of our affection must be of the opposite sex (for the straight) or same sex (for the homosexual). Even those who claim to be bi-curious have their preference.
After that first condition has been met subconsciously, we start to look at other areas that may turn out to be deal breakers for us. Ever wondered why we don't fall in love with everyone we know? Unconditional love means you can love that unclad lunatic every bit as much as that smart, good looking man or woman who shows you nothing but care. No?
Let's look at a purer love then...
A parent's love Quite simply, the reason a parent loves her child is because it's her child.
Mothers are undeniably the face of parental love, and the reason isn't far fetched. They are generally more expressive of their love. So fathers, bear with my illustration.
Take a moment to think about your mother. Now imagine you are her only child. One evening you are playing with other kids in your compound and armed men burst in. They inform everyone that they are there to kill every child in the compound, but because of some reason I don't know, they give your mother the opportunity to choose just one child to be saved. Which child would your mother pick over you?
Unconditional love means that it doesn't matter that the child nearest to you isn't your mother's child, she can save him/her instead of you. Would she? No?
For the religious, specifically Christians, let's look at an even purer love.
God's love "God is love" says the Bible. John 3:16 says he loved the world so much that he sent his only begotten son. For many, that screams unconditional love. Just pause for a minute and complete the verse. The benefit of that love, eternal life, is hinged on faith in Jesus, or else destruction. A limitation or not?
Well let's go further than that. How many animals are promised such eternal life on the basis of faith in Jesus? The answer shows that man is unique, and why not? He was created in God's image. That in itself, is a condition that gives man the edge over animals. No artist would let a rascally child destroy his masterpiece without doing something about it.
Psalm 11:5 says that God hates anyone who loves violence. That makes it plain. Our desires and resultant actions can lose us God's love. Unconditional love?
Love for total strangers This probably is the closest one can get to unconditional, for the recipient of the love shown is not the person's creation neither is he a relative or friend. However there still is a condition.
Imagine a man who braves blazing fire to get into a house. He believes there are children in there. As he gets in, he notices a litter of helpless baby rats huddled against a corner trying to get as far away from the flames as possible. Would he stop to save the baby rats or continue the search for the human children?
Your guess is as good as mine. The children would be a priority because they are human. There you have your condition.
LOVE AND SELFLESSNESS Let me quickly correct a possible perception. This article wasn't written to make love in any form seem selfish or impure.
That man who constantly gives of himself and strives to remain faithful just to make his lady happy, even when she doesn't always appreciate it...
That faithful woman who gives her all because she genuinely wants the best for her man, even when there's that lingering possibility that she might lose it all in a blink.
That father who would rather take a bullet in the head than let his family members get hurt, or jumps into a river when he cannot swim, because he cannot watch his child drown...
That mother who would ferociously stand between her child and death, and do whatever it takes...
That person who believes that every other human should be given another shot at life, against the backdrop of the world's racist, tribalist and xenophobic tendencies...
All these are examples of selfless love which take different forms. Been conditional doesn't make them any less beautiful.
However when one insists that he/she must be loved absolutely, regardless of what he/she does or does not do, it reveals the self-centred nature inherent in most humans. A nature that seeks to receive without having to give anything.
Love can be selfless, love can be true, and love can be enduring. Do your part, make yourself loveable, love selflessly and appreciate the imperfect love shown to you. Maybe we can somehow make the world a better place, at least for those we love.
Just maybe.

Literature › Re: Doctor by hahn(m): 7:43am On Apr 19, 2015 |
Royver: She came into my office with huge pleading eyes, like she wanted to report something to me but didn't know how. her skin was covered in blisters and dried up rashes and I squirmed in my seat as I imagined how those blemishes would feel to her. As i watched she itched and scratched and i involuntarily found myself doing the same.
Her parents followed soon after. Her father, a no-nonsense looking type of man, walked in proudly in his dirty blue overall and straw hat. No one needed to tell me he was a labourer and a hard-working one at that. his small stature was easily lost in his towering demeanor as he looked down at me through his thick mustache as i sat on my chair. I resisted the urge to stand up and salute him.
His wife came in next. She wore a bright yellow blouse and two wrappers wrapped around her thick waist. She smelt as bad as he did and seemed to have this "I-dare-you-to-say-anything-about-my-smell look. They ordered the child to sit down and then glared at me like i was the cause of their problems. I smiled but they didn't reciprocate. It wasn't anger I saw though but pride. Proud parents both of them. It dawned on me suddenly that their pride would have and would continue to bring them a lot of grief in this life.
'Good afternoon sir, madam.' I enthused. "What can I do for you?"
"This is our daughter." The man said, pulling the little girl towards me. I guessed her age at ten and then looked at her card: six.
Man, she looked old.
"She has rashes on her body, we have been treating it and treating it but it refuse go". The man explained in his near perfect english. I decided to relax him a bit.
"Ehen, as the rash no go wetin una come do na? Una no fit clap for am make e run comot?" I smiled.
The girl giggled.
The woman hid her grin behind her hand.
The man said nothing. Just looked at me deadpan like; This is a serious matter and you are joking?
"Like i said doctor, this rash has been here for a long time." He said slowly and deliberately. it was obvious he didnt come to hospital for the laughs.
I stopped smiling immediately.
"How long?" I queried.
"Three years now." He replied. "We have tried rubbing cream, palm oil, crude oil, snail (at this point my jaw dropped),
"Snail "
The man glared at me.
"Yes doctor. SNAIL"
I pretended i understood and nodded sympathetically.
"Even the snail did not work. We now started using hydraulic because my friend tell me hydraulic treat anything."
"Did it work?" I asked with mock curiousity.
"Not at all. Doctor I have tried all I can, and wasted so much money. I decided to come to hospital to see if we can run test." he finished finally.
I asked the now scared looking girl to stand up. When most kids are being handled by a doctor they think we are going to magically bring an injection and needle from somewhere and jab them with it. Many a children's doctor has found himself chasing round a room trying to catch a child that has made up its mind to protect his or her bum from that horrible magical needle, usually the mother assists in trapping the little buggers. On my own part I try to play with the child a little and gain thier trust. Its easierto examine a child and make a diagnosis when they are not screaming the office down in sheer terror.
So i called this six year old girl and she began to panic. So i asked her about her rashes. I showed her the scar on my right hand to and scratched it vigorously, getting her to realise i knew what she was suffering. Finally she helped me scratch my rash and allowed me to examine her. During the few seconds I used to gain her trust her dad watched me like a hawk.
"Doctor should we hold her down?" he finally asked.
"No, no, just be patient please." I encouraged. The mother said nothing and watched from afar off.
I finally got her to show me her rashes and even to pull her dress which she did willingly.
her body was covered with the stuff. They looked like abrasion marks, the kind of thing you see when you scrape your knee on cement floor. She winced when i touched them but did not cry. At the end of my examination I took a sweet from a corner of my desk that i kept handy for such occasions and looking at the father first for approval, gave it to her. She smiled sweetly in thanks and proceeded to open the wrapper noisily.
"Do you have any other children sir?" I asked. he shook his head, no.
"Do any of the other kids in the compound have the same rashes?"
Another no.
"What kind of water do you use?"
"Pipe bourne water from overhead tank." the mustached father replied brusquely.
"And this rash has been there for three years?"
"Yes sir." he replied.
I sat back and pondered. I had seen these rashes before somewhere, I just couldn't bring it to mind just yet. I looked at the parent's skin. They were hard and brittle-looking, but then they were honest hardworking folk, i wasn't expecting their skin to be soft...
And then it hit me.
"Excuse me, what kind of soap is this girl bathing with?"
"Cutting-cutting soap." The man replied.
"Which one is cutting-cutting..."
"Soda sir. We use soda to baff her..."
"WHAAAAAAT?" I shouted. "Why would you do that? why would you bathe a small child like this with soda soap?"
"But, I bathe with it and it does nothing to me. Even my wife bathes with it...Its very affordable. We started bathing baby with it three years ago..." Lovely story. Your writing style is very cool. Following |

Nigerians will never go through with this because first they will ask,"what religion do they belong to?". If they belong to the same religion, they will ask, "what denomination". If its the same denomination they will ask, "what tribe are the people that died from?". Even if they find out they are from the same tribe they will still ask, "are they from my town?". Even if they are from the same town, they will ask, "are they related to me?". Even if they are related they will go on to ask, "him dey feed me?". Ko kan aye
