One might respond that you would be free from all the restrictive rules that follows his religion, and someone like you might then quip that you can believe Zeus exist and still not follow his rules, so your unbelief has no benefit.

Also asking the benefit of atheism is partly irrelevant.
Atheism is brought about by simple observation of facts. It is truth, irrespective of whether it has any benefits or not(but it does).

What is the benefit of knowing anything?
The answer is simple, so we can make more informed decisions.

This is nonsense, the point i am making is that the reasons most of you guys become atheists is actually silly.. for example, you want to be more logical in your thinking and refuse anything without scientific evidence.

Acknowledging that a God exist is entirely different from having a religion where you may be bounded by dogmas and doctrines of all sorts. Again there are people who are perhaps by far more rational than you are but believe in the existence of a God. I have spoken to several atheists and their main reasons for believing there is no God all boils down to not wanting to be bounded by some doctrines they have to follow. I am categorically saying that you don't have to be a religionist to believe in a creator, perhaps many of you atheists don't really know why u are one or don't really understand what atheism entails.

Sit ur ass down again and think of why u really are an atheist and examine if the reason why you are one will actually be a mutually exclusive event if you start to believe in the existence of a God.

@italics there are several people who believe in God and yet do things that make sense to them as a scientifically educated human.. one of my close friends does not believe any portion of the bible that doesn't sound logical to him, there is a guy on nairaland with the name Lojj who fits into the description of someone who believes in a God but still take science and logic 100%.

@cancelled this is not in anyway a benefit, it is your opinion whether or not a bible verse is immoral and not a fact, and defending the bible makes perfect sense for someone that believes the bible is true, just like you believe atheism is the best place to be. Also you don't have to defend the bible to believe in God.

From your post, you have still not given a benefit of not believing in God. Most of the characteristics you see as benefits are also exhibited by those who believe in God.

This question alone shows how ignorant the person who set this quiz is and so i couldn't continue. Like seriously did any verse say specifically the total no of men in Jesus tomb? There could be 100 of them but the luke 24:4 account is simply saying two men stood by them..

For Luke 24:4 to be false, or for us to have a contradiction. Then we need another verse telling us in the same context that no man was standing by them at this time or that at this particular time, there was just a man standing by them.

In all, the conclusion that can be deduced from both verses is that there was one angel outside and two on the inside of the tomb, no contradiction of any sort.

In his first trial, he chose 2 and was wrong because mark 16:5 states that there was one man dressed in white in the tomb

He tried the same question again, and chose 1 but was still wrong because luke 24:4 states that there were two men dressed in shining garments in the tomb

If you call this a contradiction, then you need to sue whoever taught you english language, or perhaps you were just an unserious student

For two statements to be a contradiction, then they must be mutually exclusive, that is they cannot both be true at the same time. The statements in Luke 24:4 and Mark 16:5 are not in any way mutually exclusive and therefore cannot be said to be a contradiction. Infact i think it is obvious that the timing of both verses are different, they aren't an account of what happened at a particular time.

@bolded When u are asked the benefit of something over another, the right way to answer is to give a benefit that is not peculiar to both objects of comparison. So i would expect you to give me a benefit that is exclusive to atheism alone. A benefit that is common to both atheism and non atheism is not valid for this argument as it doesn't give ur points any advantage.

@italics: it therefore follows that this benefit is also invalid as there are theists who are strongly against pastors/imams who make such claims.. infact it is no news that some christians don't go to church gatherings at all, they believe in serving God in Spirit without the help of any man.

You are yet to give any valid benefit of atheism over theism, or what is really good about atheism like i specifically asked seun. If its because of benefits like this you are an atheist, then you could as well remain a theist and still get this benefits.

Be there jonzing.. many of the so called engineering guys run to Accounting/finance firms to look for employment. 70% of engineering graduates switch to the finance/accounting profession because thats where sure money is, even tho it may not be as much as the money the few engineers that are lucky get in oil companies.

Don't confuse Accountants or financial analysts with mere Bankers doing menial jobs like cashier. About the being stingy part, that is totally false, your attitude to giving depends largely on your personality. But in dealing with company's money, we try to be prudent as much as possible and ensure no naira spent goes out without the potential of bringing back some economic benefits in the future. If we don't act this way, no organisation will be successful when it comes to finances.
