The horrific accident occurred between 6:30am and 7:10am this morning July 31st on the Lagos- Ibadan expressway. It involved multiple vehicles including trailers, tankers and passenger buses. The wait has ended. So have the guesses. This year, the Best of Nollywood Awards holds December 12th in Akure, Ondo State. The governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, made this announcement Thursday morning at a meeting with the organisers of BON and select Nollywood stars inside his stately country home in Ondo town, Ondo State. “On behalf of the good people of Ondo State and me, we are set to host the Best of Nollywood Awards this year. We will give spirit and soul to the awards ceremony because it would be held in the best and only international events centre in Nigeria. Our new Dome would make the Expo Centre in Lagos look like a village kitchen,” he said.

Adducing reasons for consenting to host BON Awards, Governor Mimiko said, “My first reaction when the executive producer mentioned hosting BON Awards to me was that these are not the best of times for any state financially but he assured me that it would not cost the state so much. And I agreed essentially because growing up, we were all victims of cultural imperialism by the West. Of course, at that time, we still had contending views of the East because of the deep rooted culture in their (Indian and Chinese) films.” As time went by however, he said the Nigerian film began to show great promises.

Though a successful medical doctor before political adventurism took over, Dr Mimiko’s robust knowledge of the global film industry was not in doubt; which was why he said if there is one area Nigeria has shown the world that she is capable of excelling especially in the last two decades, it is in the creative industry especially the film industry. “So, for me, the celebration of Nollywood is within the context of the cultural, if you like, imperialistic possibilities of Nigeria and why not? So long we talk about our potentials; we could also make Nigerian films a global commodity. If we want to be a dominant country in Africa and a global player, we need to deliberately create our Nollywood narrative by creating a theme around which other sub-themes would be created to sell our country,” he posited.

This is because, he continued, “Even in Hollywood, there is a constant narrative, whether subtle or otherwise, in all their cinematic outputs. We have to discover our own narrative. It is amazing the possibilities therein. There is no home in Africa where Nollywood is not celebrated and I think this creates finite possibilities for us to recreate and identify ourselves before the world. For us, celebrating Nollywood stars is part of our patriotic drive to ensure that this industry actually helps to actualize the Nigerian dream. I don’t think there is any nation that has a product and does not package how to sell it.”

The executive producer, Seun Oloketuyi, thanked the governor for his understanding, love and support for the entertainment industry, and importantly, for agreeing to host the event. Oloketuyi further expressed his appreciation to Governor Mimiko. While urging other governors to take a cue from Governor Mimiko and help the industry grow, Oloketuyi presented him a certificate to symbolize the hosting right. Present at the event were Nollywood stars like Segun Arinze, Yomi Fash Lanso, Fathia Balogun, Ngozi Nwosu, Alex Ekubo, Ebube Nwagbo, Toyosi Adesanya and Amanda Ebeye among others.

Three men have been jailed after being convicted of running an animal brothel in Swansea, Wales. The hotel specializes in getting animals and grooming them to become good in having sex with humans.

Their animal catalog includes domesticated female white lions, mountain nanny goats, Irish pigs, Himalayan gentle donkeys and other species of animals. Some animals that are not dangerous like female sheep's and some breeds of dogs are also trained to give MouthAction and receive full vaginal sex from the customer who come to book rooms and have sex with these animals over night.

The customers who cannot afford to pay for full sex or book a room end up paying $15 for MouthAction by the sheep's while the rich clients pay as much as $120 a night for a room and an animal sex partner that is healthy and experienced in human sexual pleasure.The animals are often cleaned and sanitized before the act. The vaginas and anus are deep cleaned with antiseptic smeared with lavenders and honey to make it tight and wet. The animals are sometimes dressed with pantyhose, G strings and high heeled shoes depending on the taste of the client.

The ring leaders Adam Cafferty and John Cafferty and their father David Cafferty ran a ‘gentlemen’s club’ known as “The Ram Inn” in Grange Road, Swansea.

The brothers, 31 and 28 and father 52 admitted keeping an animal brothel between January 2011 and July 2015 and a jury took less than three hours to find them all guilty.

During their trial at Swansea Crown Court the jury heard they setup a website on the hidden “Deep Web” where people from all over the country could select the animal of their liking and book in for an appointment.

In their defense, the defense lawyer, Damian Erow told the trial judge and jury that the brothel poses no threat to its customers because the animal sex organs are sterilized regularly and that the animals are well trained to give and receive sex with their human counterparts.

All have previous convictions for committing the same offense at the same address.

The two brothers and father were all sentenced to four years in prison and the animals confiscated and sent back to animal conservatories because they have been so domesticated and sexually traumatized to survive tin the wild.

The clients are planning a peaceful demonstration to protest the infringement on their fundamental human right to happiness and sexual freedom. They ask to be allowed to chose their sex partners and follow their sexual orientation. They claim that they do not harm the animals instead the give the animals a chance to live a better qualitative life. The march is scheduled to hold Sometime later this year.

The Imo state police command have arrested and paraded a notorious kidnapper identified as Henry Chibueze aka "Vampire". Vampire was arrested after a failed attempt by him and his gang members to kidnap judges of the Imo state tribunal who were lodged at Disney Hotels, along Onitsha Owerri Road recently.

According to reports, security operatives in the state who acted on a tip off, swooped on the gang members as they attempted to kidnap the judges. Vampire and his members fled the hotel with gunshot wounds. He was later arrested at his elder brother's house where he had gone to treat himself.

A YouTube video showcasing a heartbreaking tale narrated at a popular church in Lagos has been uploaded to the internet, a Nigerian lady confessing her sordid journey into lesbianism and its horrific consequences upon her young family.

According to Mrs Blessing Okoma, a happy marriage blessed with five children was thrown into turmoil at the premature death of her husband. Whilst mourning his demise, Blessing had a sickening nightmare. An elderly lady slept with her, ending the inhumane act with the weighty words, ‘Do you know your husband gave you to me?

Blessing awoke in a cold sweat. She knew that gnarled, ugly face. Casting her mind back to their initial courtship, Blessing recalled a ‘covenant’ her husband insisted she agree to. “He took me to a spiritualist in his village,” she recounted to the sombre congregation.



“That spiritualist then took my blood and my husband’s, cooked it with soup and we ate it together.” The same female witchdoctor who intimated the ‘covenant’ was the one that intimately met her that fateful night.

From that day forward, ‘the spirit of a woman’ entered Blessing and everything changed. “I no longer had affection for men,” she confessed.


“I used to go for beautiful girls. Because of this power in me, when I approached a girl, she would accept immediately and I would behave as a man to her. I am the husband; she is the wife.”

Blessing would prowl schools to seduce secondary school students, under the ‘spell’ of a force beyond her control. “I felt like a man and behaved like a man,” she said, introducing countless young ladies in school and university into lesbianism.

Infatuated with a certain lady she encountered, Blessing took her home one day. “My children were outside praying,” she slowly recounted, wincing in remembrance of her dirty past.

Her youngest daughter walked into the house minutes later and met her mother in bed with her lover. She screamed. Embarrassed and incensed, Blessing’s partner gave her an ultimatum – ‘It’s either you choose me or your children.’

“Because I loved what I was doing, I sent my children away,” Blessing admitted, much to the shock of the crowd. “I didn’t care about them or have any motherly love. That spirit would make me beat the hell out of my first daughter. I wanted to kill her.”

Blessing dispatched her five children to be ‘house-helps’ across the country. Robbed of both fatherly and motherly care, her young children were scattered, all of them leaving school to become domestic servants.

“Free from my children, I went out fully as a prostitute for women like myself,” she continued. For four years, Blessing’s children were separated from her and each other. Four years of pain. Four years of heartache. Four years of brokenness. And for four years, Blessing did not even care.

However, after a dramatic ‘deliverance’ at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN), Blessing said her eyes had opened. “When I see a woman now, I know you are a woman. I don’t have the urge for women again in my life. I want my kids back.”

The clip fast-forwards to a week later, Blessing standing next to five young individuals in the same church. “These are my children,” she told the congregation, the family standing together for the first time in four years.

“Before, I didn’t differentiate between a man and a woman. Now, the spirit of a woman has gone from me. Man of God, help me to beg my children because I know I have suffered them.”

Happiness, her eldest daughter, didn’t mince her words as she addressed the church. “My mother is so wicked to us,” she said, tears streaming from her innocent eyes.

“She beat me up and broke my head,” she continued, showing a large scar close to her eye. “Since four years, I have not seen my younger siblings. I thought they had died.”

Tears peppered the face of Amaka, her next daughter. “She suffered us as a slave,” the little girl told the quiet church. “She used a table to hit my younger brother; he almost died.” Ebuka, Awele and Ifeanyi all echoed the sentiments of their sisters. “We hate her so much.”

Addressing the young children, Pastor T.B. Joshua spoke softly. “After prayer, the spirit of this past pain will be removed,” he assured them. “We will ensure you all go back to school.” Joshua then prayed for the young children, all of them falling to the ground.



The touching story does not end there however. The clip continues to show the family reunited in a new house, purchased for them courtesy of Pastor Joshua and his ‘Emmanuel TV partners’.



“This is not a house; it is a palace,” beams Blessing as she looks around at the fully furnished apartment in Lagos. Smiles lighten the faces of her five kids. With scholarships to continue their education provided, hopes for the future had been remarkably reawakened.

Following the 40th birthday celebration by one of Nigeria’s finest actress, Rita Dominic on Sunday 12th July, it has been revealed that she lied about her real age.

Chika (Surname withheld), a claimed old classmate of the actress revealed that Rita is supposed to be 43years now and not 40year old. She added that Rita was her classmate at Santa Maria Primary school in Aba.

“But Rita you are 43 not 40. We all grew up at Aba and we were in d same class in Santa Maria Primary school, Aba. This should have been celebrated 3yrs ago not this year my dear Rita,” Chika said.

Nigerian students studying in the United Kingdom, and their counterparts from other countries, will be forced to leave the country after graduation.


A fresh policy ordered by Home Secretary, Theresa May, seeks to ban foreign students, with the exception of those from EU countries, from working in Britain after completing their studies.
The policy requires that they return to their countries and reapply for a visa to return and work in the country.

It is argued that many students are using colleges as a “back door to a British work visa”.
According to official figures, out of the 121,000 non-EU students that entered the UK in the 12 months to June 2014, only 51,000 left.

This indicated a net influx of 70,000 students.

Already, May has banned 870 UK colleges from taking foreign students as a means to stop student visas being used as an easy way to enter the UK before getting a job and claiming benefits.

The new rules will deny non-EU students the right to work while in the UK and prevent them from applying for visa extensions on completion of their studies.

Thus, they will have to return to their home countries and apply to return under a work visa.
Several stakeholders in the education sector have however argued that the new rules would damage businesses and lead to a loss of important skills.

About 13 bodies have been discovered in a primary school building in the Cameroonian town of Fotokol which borders Nigeria.



Residents say they were killed by rockets fired by suspected Boko Haram militants from Gamborou town on the Nigerian side of the border.



The dead are said to include the only medical doctor who remained in the town to look after refugees who fled from the conflict in north-east Nigeria.


Cameroon along with Chad and Niger is helping Nigeria in the fight against the Islamist insurgents.

The League Management Company (LMC) has disclosed that the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) highest goal scorer award would be named after Rashidi Yekini. Shehu Dikko, chairman of the LMC, said the decision to name the trophy after one of Nigeria’s most prolific forwards was chosen by the board to immortalise the player.



“There is a broad plan to institute awards and honour outstanding players, officials, key stakeholders and fans in the league at the end of every season and there are a number of factors that led us to reach the decision to name one of these awards, that of the highest goal scorer after the late Rashidi Yekini. The awards are part of strategic plans of the LMC to create commercial value and additional revenues out of the assets inherent in the league property,” he said.



“We considered the aspiration factor which seeks to let the players know that they too can become national heroes if they achieve excellence and make a success of their career. It says to them that they too can become legends of the game and the society will honour them as we have sought to honour the late Yekini.” Dikko said that a monetary incentive and other social benefits will be attached to the awards. “We have received a request from the Rashidi Yekini Foundation to provide additional cash support to the winner and we are studying their proposal. There are already plans to officially unveil the special trophy for this award at one of the league game venues.”



The LMC chairman disclosed that the NPFL Awards is a long term project of the body open to corporate sponsors in both headline and other supporting categories for which some corporate firms are already holding talks with the LMC on their potential participation in the NPFL Awards.



Yekini started his career with United Textile Mills Limited (UNTL) Kaduna before joining IICC Shooting Stars, now Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan. He later moved to the defunct Abiola Babes before he joined Africa Sports of Cote d’Ivoire. The 1993 Africa Footballer of the Year scored 37 goals in 58 games for the Super Eagles. He died on May 4, 2012.

A man was found with the head of an elderly man he'd killed at his farm... he was apprehend by youths in the village who took him to the station. The picture was taken inside the police station. Why he beheaded the man has not been confirmed.

The level of wickedness perpetrated by such cold heart is alarming...A heartless woman, known as Helen Okeke, who allegedly killed her neighbour, identified only as Rose, in the Ikota, Ajah area of the state - has been nabbed by men of the Lagos state police command. .

It was learnt that Okeke slit Rose’s throat after the duo reportedly had an argument over who poured urine on the latter’s clothes that were spread on the entrance door to her room. The incident occurred at about 5pm last Wednesday in the Ikota Housing Estate, Ikota Second Gate area.

It was also gathered that Rose, who was reportedly preparing for her wedding, had returned from work in the afternoon, and noticed a foul smell on the clothes spread on her door.

It was revealed that the deceased went to the landlady, Alhaja Iyabo Hamzat, to report the matter. The landlady was said to have pacified her, offering to give her the money to buy some detergent to wash the clothes.

It was gathered that after some minutes, other neighbours, however, heard Rose’s sudden cry for help in the corridor. The suspect was said to have been found holding the deceased by the neck, with a bloodstained kitchen knife in her hand.

Rose reportedly died before she could be rushed to a nearby hospital. The matter was said to have been reported to the Ajah Police Division, Ajiwe, and Okeke was arrested.
