Dead right. Let us be reasonable, the sales people had old stock bought at the former selling price and they will have to sell off those. Else they will lose capital and gradually commence a descent in business fortunes.

Silly logic. Did the scriptures record dat Christ used d toilet, or dat He played and laughed? Wine given to d man at the table in canaan was said to b d best served at d occasion. D pharisees called Christ a glutton and drunkard(will fruit wine do dat). Paul wrote do not b filled with wine wherein is excess(will fruit.wine bring about excess)....? please read d book in ur hand and stop teaching like d blind who go to some school and claim they know d word of God.

Typical Pharisee leaven.
Further to the above the wine typical with the people of that time in that region was extracted from olive. We all know that olive extracts are intoxicating. That was the same drink that Lot daughters got their drunk with and they took turns in screwing him and begeting kids. And please note before you castigate that act, it was ordained of God.

May be 3 is not exactly ok in its raw form because society thinks that way. I am however very away that it is used in some drug production. As for 1 and 2, i will not only stand before God and tell him i will do both acts in his very before. God does not lie so he will not speak from both sides of the mouth and even allow his son to brew wine at Cana of Galillee

I am sorry but i do not think your response was deliberately directed at me. I do not see any relationship in my post and yours and where i even remotely referred to Fashola. I only sought to explain to the person i responded to why Satelite town has changed from what it used to be before she left.

Please for your information, i dont ever discuss politics and rarely governance. I hope i made myself clear.

No be swear but satelite is so water logged and the roads are so terrible that the area will never get any better. It was fine before you left because traffic and volume of humans was less, today Lagos grows in leaps and bounds and things ever continue to deteriorate in the light of no infrastructure to support the influx of people.

rhames:
anytime you decide to buy a tokunbo car, always make a budget for the engine replacement. They are sold to you without a guarantee and are very problematic.
My first car was a Benz 200 that i personally went to Cotonou to pick. I drove it till i gave it out after like 5 years and that was when i did some work on the engine. I bought a Toks Montero American Spec off Berger Cement car sales area, that vehicle is still in my house very useful after more than 5 years of massive usage including inter state movements. The only reason i now use mint vehicles is because the company buys them for me as status vehicles. There is no way in hell i will use 18m to buy a 2013 pajero that was given to me in my former employment or use 8m to buy a ford edge as is the case in my recent job. Good Tokunbo cars still exist. If you do not know what to look out for, take along an experienced mechanic. I spent time acquiring that knowledge and by the time i went to buy, i was asking more meaningful questions and checking out stuff mire than my mechanic. Toks remains a good alternative to the common man. Indeed i have been eyeing this camry as a small car i can buy and be using occasionally.

You are right, all vigilante groups in Nigeria carry pump action shotguns openly, and far greater numbers are duly licensed for private use, but not shown in public.

The Browning pistol to which you refer above is NOT available to civilians under current Nigerian firearm laws , unless they can produce a special permission document signed by none other than the president of the Nigerian federation. Legally, pistols of ANY sort are ONLY allowed to be carried or kept at home by serving and retired military or law enforcement OFFICERS.
Dead right. All my high contacts said it is only the president that could give me the special permission to carry a pistol of any nomenclature, Colt, barreta, brownie, police special etc....but i am going for pump action that could be cut to size.

im just baffled at the way our once gallant armed forces just chicken-out to a rag-tag ill-trained, virgin seeking boys.
i read of their gallantry at the ecomog, UN peace keeping force et al.
while serving as a corps member, i usually admire the soldiers at the camp, they looked so tough and brave.
Now the scamper at the sound of gun shots and and take to their heels at the rumour of bokoharam advancement.
The million-dollar question is where/how did things fall apart in the nigerian armyhuh?
Peace keeping is not war. They do not fight, they just starch their uniforms and look prim and proper. Collect dollars and come back home. It was only in Liberia that they fought, and I am aware that the entire barracks that went from Ohafia all died there. You only have their widows and children wandering in the barracks.

Meanwhile, there is no how these guys will withstand Boko Haram. They do not have the passion to fight. These are people who opted to join the military because of dearth in employment. It is not as if they had a deliberate plan and desire to join the army for the sake of defending the sovereignty of the country.

Travel › Re: Have You Ever Missed A Flight? by hardbody: 7:57am On Nov 05, 2014
amtheone:
Ours happened when we were returning from Akwa Ibom to Lagos. Imagine for 3adults. We actually prepared ahead of time but, for just no reason decided to relax a bit at home. Little did we know that such relaxation will mean so much.

Our flight was at 12noon but at about 9am I received a text that it has been re-scheduled to take off at about 2:45pm. I said to my wife if so, let's not rush. At about 12noon we headed to the air port. At 1pm we were stil on the road, to 2, we were still on and by the time we got to the air port it was all over. I looked at my family with our little angel, we had no other option than to double almost the amount we bought our initial tickets.

When we got to Lag, we made up our minds that we would never miss our flights again and it has been so.

So, share urs if it has happened to u.
Good luck to you to the extent that you never miss your flights anymore. I virtually live in the air and honestly i keep missing my flight. I think the worst culprit in my case is first nation (i hope i am right). I am so used to delayed flights (with Arik and Aero) that on two occasions i missed first nation both ways (to and from Abuja) on the same trip. Only last week, i was meant to go to Abuja with my MD and ED although on different assignments. They stay in the Island, I stay in the mainland. For an aero of 6.45am, i got to the airport (with my printed boarding pass) and there was the craft at the tarmac slowly but steadily rolling away. I was once at the airport (with one auntie) enroute Owerri. We checked our luggage in and did not hear our flight announced. By the time i started making enquiries and we rushed through the gates, we were told that the gates for the owerri flight was shut and that the aero i was looking at was headed to Abuja. We had to wait in Lagos for our luggage to come back, and there being no more flight to owerri that day, we re-routed to PH and got into that town by 10pm (we were at the airport as early as 6.15am). In short my missed flights are too numerous to mention. Lesson for me is i no longer take time for granted. I will rather wait for 6 hours at the airport than come too close to departure. It is usually worse when they change flight time, i just relax a lot more. Another step i take these days is to have my boarding pass with me. That way, so long as the craft is still on ground, i will surely board it. I was in Calabar for my AGM sometime this year. when it was time to leave, Arik or aero (I cant remember which) kept canceling their fight. From my Hotel room i booked Dana (Uyo to Lag) and left for Uyo in the morning. The driver taking me had no sense of urgency. I was getting into the airport at some minutes past teh advertised flight time, but i flashed my boarding pass and ran through into an aircraft that had its gates shut within 2 minutes of my boarding......

Too many missed or near misses jor..

You're welcome.

I need to learn this LinkedIn finally...
My current job was through Linkedin. Even before then, I had a last meeting with the Chairman of a reknowned conglomerate, and the contact was through Linkedin. In all these instances, i never knew anyone in the companies, they only sought for request acceptance, i did, and someone now called to ask for my CV to be sent to a mail box, the rest is now history. I keep checking Linkedin on a regular basis for fresh invites.

What i do is when someone invites me, i quickly review his profile, if the person is an HR consultant, i immediately accept. We have been having on-going talks regularly.

As for the Ohuabunwas, yes, those ones are people i hate to know come from the same place as me. Dr. Ochi was the guy the guy determining what roads to be fixed during the PTF era and one of the Ikokwus was on the Board of Trustees of PTF then. It is a real shame. I was told that even when Alex Oti wanted to use his influence to patch up some part of the roads within town, the local government chieftains kicked against it and said roads cannot be fixed by individuals.
