And again, success knows no religion. Whether or not you will be successful isn't tied to any religion. If you make the sacrifices and efforts need to be successful on the earth surface, the earth will give it to you whether or not you are xtian, Muslim, judaist, shintoist, Hindu, taoist or atheist.

We are all first humans, befor religion. And like I said , religion is just part of what we are. Not who we are. And it is unwise to take people for what that are

What kinda prayers would they be praying? Would it be like God help us to murder 1000 insurgents (humans) created by the same God i would assume. will God answer their prayers? This is why religious believes makes no sense.

And again, if God is not going to help them in anyway it wouldn't also make sense praying to God. And if God can help with all his might (as we were told) that God is this greatest guy with so much power. Then they would not need weapons made by men. God shoulda just waved his magic wand and the insurgents will perish.

Look! as it appears you do not have all the answers, trying to answer would lead me to querry more about the might and even the existence of this guy called God.

Bross, don't call it nonsense, bullcrap or a waste of time. Affiliating oneself to a particular religion is a choice. If you don't affiliate to any, don't see others decision as a waste of time. You have made your choice and they have made theirs, simple.

Out of the 7billion people the world over, more than 3/4 are affiliated to be be religious belief or the other. I as an individual can not conclude that All these people are wasting their time.

Rather, in life dealings, I judge them by who they are and not what they are. Religion is part of what we are. And what we are as humans is a choice. Let them deal with their choices

I guess you are not affiliated to any religion - perhaps an atheist and the absolutely fine.

But the fact that you don't do religion doesn't mean you should mock or question someone who does it by praying before an act(whether or not it will be successful)

They have made preparation in the little way they can - perhaps with meager training and weapon. And now They are aligning themselves with the diety they worship by praying - whether or not they will fail. And believe you me, even if they loose the battle, they will still pray after it and before subsequent ones. It's what they believe as members of a religion

When we as humans prepare towards a task, feat, tournament, event, exam, interview, mission etc. In our seclusion, most times after preparation, we speak within ourself and hope that it comes out successful . Praying for Victory in war has nothing to do with weaponry. Even america with the most sophisticated weapons still pray for Victory before they embark on missions, even if the nation they are going against is a minor
