An electrician, Chukwuka Onuorah, 33, who was contracted to install a DSTV decoder, in the home of a client, Mrs Gloria, 32, allegedly returned to the house the next day to rape the 15-year old housemaid.
The incident occurred around 3pm on February 6, when Gloria who lived alone with the house help invited Onuorah over to her house to install the decoder. Onuorah did not finish the job that day and was told that he should come back only when Gloria was at home.
The next day however, Onuorah came back to Gloria’s house without informing her that he was coming to complete the installation. He immediately pounced on the housemaid who was alone in the house and forcefully had sex with her.
The housemaid was said to have escaped from the room and locked the rapist inside the room while she ran outside to alert her neighbours . Chukwuka was promptly arrested and taken to the police station.
The FCT police command commissioner of police (CP) Mr Wilson Inalagwu who confirmed the incident during a press conference said the case is under investigation.
“The facts of the case are that on the 06/02/2015 at about 1500hrs one Chukwuka Onuorah ‘m’ of Gidan Daya village by Living Faith Church, Orozo was called by Mrs. Gloria to come and install DSTV Decoder for her. The suspect did not finish the installation that same day.
“Gloria told Chukwuka that she would call him whenever she is at home. The next day being 07/02/2015 the suspect went to Mrs. Gloria’s house when he knew she was not at home and forcefully had canal knowledge with the 15 years old maid.
“The victim locked the suspect inside the house and ran to inform the neighbours who came and arrested the Chukwuka and handed him over to the Police.

The kind of things you hear and see everyday. So here's what happened. Two bus conductors fought each other and one of them broke the others head with a pavement stone. This happened at Navy Town, Alakija, Satellite Town yesterday.

A Naval officer saw what happened and decided to punish the one who broke the others head. He told the conductor to climb a tiny fruit tree & left him there for over 30 minutes. What kind of punishment is that?

There, I would spot some of their errors, suggest strategies and sales tactics they could use in their next meetings. Soon they too began getting positive responses from customers. It became somehow obvious to them that the issue was not with the products or company’s image as they earlier presumed, that it was more on their method and approach. As the name implies, 'white wedding' is a cultural way of getting married in the western world. Why do Africans now see it as superior to the normal African cultural marriage where two families meet and dowry is paid? Of what sense does it make to do African traditional marriage and still crown it all with this so-called annoying white wedding? Must we Africans wear those ill-fitting suits and gowns to prove that we have now been married? I personally think Africans are relegating their culture to the background and promoting the white man's culture!

I overheard a colleague of mine at work telling someone that it is a sin to sleep with your 'wife' if the white wedding is not done, even though the dowry has been paid. To me, that is the highest level of cultural inferiority and slavery!!! Are we saying that our cultural marriage is not sufficient? That it must be completed by white wedding?

Our women are not helping matters because they are the most significant agents of cultural slavery. With so much artificial stuffs on them-fake hair(Brazilian, Indian, Peruvian, Venezuelan, Colombian etc), fake eye-lashes, fake nails, fake names, etc, none would want to be married only in our traditional way. Tell a naija girl that you would want only a trad and see the speed she go take leave you. Even the speed of a Bugatti Veron dey learn.

White wedding, over the years, has been erroneously seen by many Africans (Nigerians) as a Christian practice. If truth be told, white wedding has nothing to do with Christianity. All the marriages that are recorded in the Bible were done in the trad way...from Genesis to Revelation. Even the one Jesus attended and performed His first miracle was done in the Jewish trad way. Jesus never went there as a bishop, pastor, etc to officiate the marriage. He went as every other guests.

We need to promote our culture because the whites do not marry in our own way. This reminds me of Mr Okadu and Mr Tsiba, characters in Kobina Sekyi's 'The Blinkard'.

There was pandemonium today in Sango Ota area of Ogun state as custom officers shot bullets into the air along Abeokuta expressway,leaving a young girl dead.

According to an eyewitness,the decease was hit by a stray bullet fired by one of the custom officers while she was making Amala in a shop at Sango garage.The custom officers deserted the scene without taking care of the deceased.

The shooting commenced around 10am from Joju area of Sango.The eyewitness went ahead to say that the custom officers were pursuing smugglers whom they seized their bags of rice.

This event happened in my street this afternoon. I was in my room browsing with my phone when I heard people shouting outside. At first I didn't want to go out, but when the shouting increased I had to go outside to see what was happening.

My mom and I rushed outside to catch a glimpse of what was happening. At first we heard a guy tried to kidnap a girl in the church. Fortunately my mom saw the child's elder brother and she made inquiry to know if the guy was caught and the child rescued, that was when we heard the shocker of our life.

The brother told us that it wasn't a kidnapping case,but instead a fellow guy who also attend the same church with them was caught having carnal knowledge of his sister right inside the church. It was the proprietor of the school opposite the church that caught him in the act. The most annoying part was that the guy was releasing right inside the child when he was caught and he showed no sign of remorse. When the little child was interrogated, she said today wasn't the first time it started, that they even had s*x with her yesterday which was Sunday. I had to go very close to the church to catch a glimpse of the guy. I was indeed very shock when I saw the matured guy that defiled this little girl.

The child's parent were later alerted and the father came with some policemen and took the guy away. But before they left,one of the policemen asked the guy how many of them were involved. The guy confessed that it was his elder brother that started having carnal knowledge of the child before he followed suit. Him and his elder brother were later taking away.

Now my question here is who should be blamed. Is it the guy for having carnal knowledge of d child, or the child for not reporting such act to her mother,or the mother who wasn't so observant as to notice what was happening to her child?

The Defence headquarters , Monday, disclosed that following the air and ground assault to flush out Boko Haram terrorists from Baga, its cordon and search operation has revealed some terrorists disguising as women.

A statement signed by Major General Chris Olukolade said, “The searches are also yielding more discoveries of arms especially bombs hidden in various locations, especially Baga town.

“Apart from those captured in the course of fighting, many arrests of terrorists hiding in the town are being made and troops are still busy interrogating the suspects.

“Meanwhile, in furtherance of the mission to clear terrorists from all their enclaves by the military, the Nigerian Air Force has stepped up its air bombardment of identified targets in Gwoza, Bama and Sambisa forest, preparatory to other phases of the mission.

“Terrorists are now in disarray as they scamper to escape from the impact of air bombardment of their locations in the forest.
