one of the very few phones to feature a Mediatek helio p90 processor but I'm definitely looking forward to it. It has really impressive configuration and looks as solid on outside as it is on the inside
Mastarcard: Hey TechChamps, this is a gaming test of the Xiaomi Redmi 9 #Redmi9GamingTest. Here we have the 32gb ROM, 3gb RAM variant which is the lower end model. The Redmi 9 is the cheapest phone from Xiaomi this year coming with a MediaTek Helio G80 Processor and I played Call of duty, asphalt 9 and NBA
Here are some of the specs of the Redmi 9 Display – 6.5 inches 1080p IPS LCD CPU – Mediatek Helio G80 GPU – Mali-G52 Storage – 32gb/64gb RAM – 3gb/4gb Battery – 5020mAh with 18W fast charging
I think the mediatek helio G80 is a perfect fit for the Redmi 9 and it comes with the hyperengine gaming tech which provides amazing gaming experience. But if not mediatek helio G80, which processor would you recommend for gaming in this budget?
What do you think about this device in the budget segment?
It's a decent configuration being provided by Huawei, much better than what the other brands have to offer. Even with Mediatek helio P22 I'm sure the performance of this phone is going to be great too
Telvin7: The oppo Reno 4 series just got launched in China and it's much better than the it's predecessor both in design and display .

I am so disappointed with the choice of processor in the Oppo Reno 4 series smartphones. How many of you agree that the usage of a Mediatek dimensity 1000+ or 820 chip would've been a smarter choice to make, given affordability and features?
The ZTE Axon 11 gives me a really classy feel of the Motorola Edge Plus! My favourite features of this phone include it's sleek build measuring 159.2 x 73.4 x 7.9 mm and a feather light weight of just 168 grams, 6.47-inches AMOLED display with 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution, 48 MP primary quad-cam setup, 20 MP selfie snapper, Mediatek Helio P70 octa-core chipset, Android 10 OS, 6GB + 128GB variant and an in-display optical fingerprint sensor.

The Reno3 is priced at N159,000 and the Reno3 Pro at N209,000. Reviews from techies, it is said that both devices give actual value for money and if my view counts, yes they are valued for money devices.
I am a huge fan of the Oppo Reno 3 and the Oppo Reno 3 Pro! Amazing built and camera features, this phone is an awesome fit for premium buyers. It wouldn't be wrong to say that the Mediatek Helio P90/P95 processor functioning at the core of these phones makes them absolutely a fine experience for users! Now that both phones are available in the Nigerian market, its time to get some hands-on experience of these premium quality smartphones from Oppo.
bennyefosa19: Latest update: The Honor 8A 2020 will sell at a price of £108.33 and it will be shipped in Black and Blue colors. In Nigeria, it will be sold at a price of 52,000 Naira, while in Ghana, it will cost about 680 Ghs and 12,500 Ksh in Kenya.
The Honor 8A (2020) is worth buying at a price of 52000 Naira because you've got to spend this much on any budget smartphone. The processor - Mediatek helio P35 is also good for performance and rest of the features qualify for the price too
I am so impressed with the configuration of the Umidigi Power 3 especially the big battery of 6150 mAh supported by Mediatek helio P60's performance. If anybody has bought it I would like to take some hands-on reviews before I can place my order

Infinix Note 7 is surely bringing a great competition to Xiaomi in the budget segment but I hope they keep on with this trend. Using the Mediatek helio G70 chipset has turned the specification of this phone absolutely outstanding and everyone is looking forward to the arrival of this phone in the market
AnonPoet: Should you buy the Oppo Reno 3 Pro? This is the latest release for the Oppo brand here in Nigeria. The versions coming here are the Oppo Reno 3 Pro and Reno 3. The Reno 3 Pro 5G is also an advanced higher-end mid-ranger but doesn't come to the country. In this video, I share my thoughts, pros and cons about it. What are your thoughts about the Reno 3 Pro?
It would come across as expensive to many people but despite the price, the Oppo Reno 3 pro does strike as an extremely elegant smartphone - not just in looks but overall performance. The Mediatek Helio P95 anyway takes all the credits for making sure the phone delivers its best performance
bennyefosa19: I hope the phone is going to be available in Nigeria soon. The specs are good enough for Honor Play 9A to cost below 50k Naira. I think nobody would have a problem paying this much for the specs back by the Mediatek Helio p35 processor. Rest everything is great for a budget smartphone
are you sure its gonna have mediatek helio P35 because I read at many places that it's going to come with mediatek helio P22! although I'm sure people would prefer the helio P35
This is some really great news! Infinix Note 7 series comes with some awesome features, especially the Note 7 with boosted gaming performance of Mediatek helio G70. What are your thoughts?
bennyefosa19: Droid Africa says that the Tecno Camon 15 Air is powered by MediaTek Helio P22 processor, which is what most smartphones are offering in a price range of $119. It comes with some great features like 6.6 inch HD+ display, a quad-core 48 MP + 5 MP + 2 MP + QVGA camera setup, 3 GB RAM + 64GB storage, Android 10 operating system which is the latest one. All of it backed up by a powerful battery of 5000mAh. Now these specs look great to me in the price range. You can check out more details at:
that is great! the mediatek helio P22 has delivered a good performance in most budget smartphones. So it's reliable! Though it will be great to see tecno phones with some gaming action on mediatek helio G series
seunfly: You are right, i v confirmed it. The OPPO Reno 3 pro 5G is what I'm aware of and OPPO did not even do much to promote Reno 3 5G.
Most 5G smartphones launch in China and they fail to reach other countries because most are not 5G equipped yet. I think Oppo should've promoted the product a bit more because it is s solid 5G phone with one of the best chips - mediatek dimensity 1000L
KrazyDave16: If you want to be spoiled by the 90hz screen refresh rate, go with realme 6/pro. If that doesn't bother you, go with note 8 pro
both Realme 6 and Redmi note 8 Pro are powered by MediaTek's Helio G90T chipset for great gaming! So if you are into playing PUBG and fortnite you should opt for these mid-range smartphones.
sunshineV: Relax this phone is a bit expensive and shouldn't be compared with any transsion product. It's around 150k-200k
You know what, even if its around 110,100 Naira it will be worth it because it comes with a powerful Mediatek gaming processor and this would be quite a justified price for the configuration. It's priced around $300 so chances are less that it will cost 150k, that's just too much
The Tecno Camon 15 Premier is one of the flagship products as a part of the latest Camon 15 series launched by Tecno. The major highlight of the phone is its massive 64MP camera. It comes with an enhanced performance on account of the powerful MediaTek Helio P35 processor, a big bezel-less 6.6-inch display, and a 32MP pop-up selfie camera.
Here are the highlights of the phone:
- 86% screen-to-body ratio - 6GB of RAM and 126GB of internal storage (expanded up to 256GB via MicroSD card) - Android 10.0 based on HiOS v6.0.1
Tecno Camon 15 Premier price in Nigeria is about N100,000 which equates to $259 USD. What are your thoughts on the phone?

You have got a smartphone chassis design that fits into the current smartphone trend.
The Chassis design on this mobile phone comprises of elements we have seen on a lot of smartphones before the S5 Pro. In summary, you have a very familiar package.
Its rear panel is home to quad-cameras arranged in a square frame, in a manner that resembles that of the Infinix Hot 9. Aside from the rear cameras, you also have the Umidigi moniker branding, which indicates its OEM.
Upfront we have a 6.39-inch AMOLED display void of any cut-out, which is facilitated by the absence of a camera cut or notch, thanks to its pop-up camera mechanism. This display has a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels.
The Cameras The Umidigi S5 Pro follows the pental camera system trend that has become very popular amongst smartphones. It houses an array of cameras with features that could help in taking creative shots

The Umidigi S5 Pro is currently available for purchase. It comes in Cosmic black and Ocean blue.
I am really impressed with all the specifications of the UMIDIGI S5 Pro. Hadn't expected that Umidigi will be launching a smartphone with Mediatek Helio G90T because its one of the latest and greatest chipsets for gaming. You're right, Umidigi has tapped into the right nerve within the mid-range smartphone devices. Looks like the sales are gonna get high for the brand this time. Many of the top brands are also not providing all of these advanced features in their mid-range smartphones!
UncleGrey: Infinix has made an addition of another mid-range smartphone to the Hot-series called Infinix Hot 9 Play and here are my thoughts about this device. https://youtu.be/qFikoS3n1qM
Thank you for a well informed review on YouTube. I just want to understand one thing about Infinix smartphones. They recently announced Infinix Note 7 with MediaTek helio G70 which is an advanced gaming chipset. Do you think from now on they might upgrade their smartphones and use some of the latest Mediatek processors like the Helio G Series or the P65, P90 chipsets? I think they should because it will give a boost to the brand too. I'm happy with the other specs they're prociding in the phones ranging from huge battery to the latest Android version.
First of all the important information is that this phone is powered by MediaTek's star performer - Helio P70. The specs of this phone are giving a head-on competition to Redmi Note 8 and Realme 5. Here are the top specs of the phone which will increase your interest:
- 4025 mAh battery - Color AMOLED capacitive touchscreen of 16 million colors - 8 GB RAM - Android 9.0 Pie, will upgrade to Android 10 soon - 48 MP + 8 MP + 2 MP + 2 MP quad-cameras at the rear - 16 MP front camera
KrazyDave16: I've used infinix Note 5 and didn't repair it (which I thank God for till now) before I sold it but it didn't suit my needs cos I use apps that uses more processing power and the chip used wasn't enough.
My complaints are they selling recycled hardware for same price and they're not putting any effort except in advertising and using popular celebrities to sell their products (after all of Wizkid tweets that we should rush the camon 15, many here will do it), poor support for custom ROMs, crappy camera (not talking of those with edits), improper app optimization...... The list is long
What's annoying me right now is the specs of the so-called camon 15. I was dumbfounded, confused and angry when I saw the price.
Also for the offering price of the camon 15 you can get a device that has an up-to-date midrange processor or if you patient you get the infinix Note 7 when it launches as this one got a decent processor.
But going back to Tecno or infinix when there's no improvement whatsoever is like leaving the job of an executive manager and going to work as a gateman
Infinix Note 7 is the latest smartphone by the brand and you won't believe that an Infinix is coming with such great features. I was really shocked to see them. And yes you're absolutely right, this phone has the Mediatek Helio G70 chipset which has octa-core CPU and superb gaming features. Must check out the other features here: https://www.droidafrica.net/gadget/infinix-note-7/
The specs of the Tecno Camon 15 Premier are better than one would expect. Top highlights: Android 10, 6.6 inch display and 1080 x 2340 resolution, Mediatek Helio P35 processor, 32MP pop-up selfie camera, 64 MP quad cam, 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM powered by a 4000mAH battery!! though I'm unable to figure out the price in Nigeria. Any lead?
Umidigi Power 3 comes with some really impressive features:
6.53-inch Full-HD+ display, with 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution and a punch hole cutout MediaTek Helio P60 CPU clocked at 2.0 GHz 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage 6150mAh battery Android 10 Corning Gorilla Glass 4 48 MP + 13 MP + 5 MP + 5MP main camera
what else do you need from a mid-range smartphone?
akingbadeomoseb: Since 5G has not arrived in most parts of the world, I think the 4G variants of Oppo reno3 series with Mediatek Helio chipsets too are doing really well.
that'/s precisely the reason why Oppo Reno 3 could not launch globally with the mediatek dimansity 1000 chip and had to launch with helio P90 instead...maybe once more countries get 5G ready...they launch another phone with the dimensity chip
Atal: Meet Tecno’s first smartphone to have a pop-up selfie camera. This is the Camon 15 Premier we knew was coming but we never thought of the number “15”. I think we deserve an explanation for that.
This is great, now brands like Tecno & Infinix are also upgrading their features, hopefully they will start providing latest chipsets too like mediatek Helio P70 Helio G70 etc. way to go!!
Well haven't heard of the mediatek Helio A25 processor before this, Infinix seems to be working quite hard in digging out unheard chipsets and making them popular through its products. I hope the performance of this octa-core processor in the phone is good and not a subject of disappointment
