Professor is something you earn from years of hardwork with series of publications to your name after a Ph.D program and not becos i got a lecturing job.

Me: I have been working consistently as a .............. in the university of ........ , . I'm presently in so so cadre. I've discussed my traveling plan with my employer and have agreed to acceed to my request as soon my Visa is granted

Vo. You want to stay in the US for 3 years

Me: no. I want to stay for 5years, my husband PhD program is for 6years and has spent one year already. I want to stay for the rest of his program so that I cook for him and give him emotional and moral supports he needs to finish his PhD on time so that we can both return to our places of work here in Nigeria.

Vo: what will his PhD do for him

Me: It will enable him to get promoted to the level of senior lecturer and also help him to carry out more outstanding research in his field upon his return to Nigeria

Me: yes, I have discussed with my employer and have agreed to transfer two of my colleagues who perform similar duties with me to take up my role until I return back after the completion of my husband program

Me : there was a project of going on in my section at my place of work And I was in charge of the section I have to be on ground to supervise the project

Vo: Who is funding your trip?

Me: the major part of the funding is coming from GTA he receives from the University. My husband has been working consistently in Nigeria university for the past 8 years, and has been saving for the past 8years. He has worked with ..... university, he has worked with.... Vo cuts in and ask

Well according to her, she said it like this over the phone...

"I'm an Associate Professor at Georgia State University" (in her typical Nigerian Accent after being in USA for over 20yrs)

I don't know why University Lecturer's in USA like to call themselves "Professors"

I need your opinion. I've noticed that those relocating to USA are mostly graduate students on scholarship and I've not heard or seen a video on YouTube advertising to those who wants to relocate via undergraduate study.
I wanna ask, can someone apply for undergraduate study and get a scholarship too and what's the age limit.
Can a 34 year old apply for undergraduate despite having OND certificate..

You will be complicating things for yourself cos you will still have to present that same statement when it's time for interview and defending a friend sponsoring you might not fly with the VO.

So get the family member soa and use it so you don't waste your admission.

The moment you're in the US as an international student, academic excellence should be your utmost pursuit. The rewards could beat your imagination. The system has been designed for you to excel if you work hard. You'd need to be involved every week, from start to finish of each semester in the courses you take in other to make 90+As or atleast 80Bs.

You'd have to participate in classes, turn in assignments, take Midterm exams, execute projects, and do your finals fantastically, some could be open book.

Also, Anything below a grade 80B is not just poor but dangerous especially if you're on funding/scholarship because It could be the end to your TA/RA. Again, you are expected to be academically driven, talented and enthusiastic to have one.

If you're in STEM, the importance of your fundamental skills in Programming ( Python, C++, MATLAB) and Mathematics can not be overstated as it could make or mar your academic performance.
PS: I took an AI & GNSS course, everything was on strictly on Python and MATLAB respectively.

You have to read before each class... try and read to understand... not cram... that's what helped me during my master's program in Houston... plus try and pick easy electives, and also make sure you do your assignments well... all points are vital... one mark can be the difference between an A or a B...

Hello guys please i need help. i tried to apply for visa last year to attend a wedding around MAY. I could not because as at the date i was notable to get appointment date. ( This was handled by an agent) however he already paid for the visa fee, we later got appointment in July 2022 which was cancelled by the agent. My challenge now got admission for fall, i paid for both visa fee. Unknown to me that the agent went ahead to book for appointment for the B1 visa. Now i am trying to book a date for my F1 visa , the receipt reference of the previous payment is still showing, How can i can remove and use my present receipt number. The truth is that the VO has already decided to issue him the visa. His profile is on das 160 and with full funding. He has nothing that will disqualify him. Vo's know if to give you visa or not even before you come to interview, from your ds 160. With the help of there Computer system. It summarizes the profiles of an interviewees. That's why the informations on ds160 is very important.

I have seen people here not process their admission to schools in the US you expected to be given assistantship or get funding. Obviously, for you to have that notion about the school, you already did your findings about assistantship and funding availability. I have a small boy tip for you if you wouldnt say I'm back with my wahala on this thread.
