With the rise in number of yahoo boys, learn auto body work. They drive recklessly and when they are involved in accident, guess whom they have to go to… YOU!!

If you now fortunately leave Nigerian and enter abroad, you would think your parent did money ritual on your behalf… it’s very lucrative in the abroad o

Go for Toyin…
Sarah must have acclimatized to another culture in the US… it’s not the same with what we have back home. Typical Nigerian man that is not ready to embrace foreign culture would find it difficult to cope with someone that grew up in the US…

My 5 cent to you is Toyin tomato

Oh shut the hell up. No one asked you and don't patronize me. A person can be still excited about traveling but sad about leaving family members behind for an indefinite amount of time. OP deliberately didn't call their mother and got awkward when their sister understandably cried when they were leaving for the U.K. But suddenly, had emotions to express for this partner. Use your sense before quoting me again.

Calm own bro… you must be a naturally angry person… I was referring to the OP and not you when I said “person wey never get sense”. And what I meant by that was why he didn’t have any iota of pity for his folks… why did you take it upon yourself. The country hard pass make person dey fight for now…

Which county is not 'predominantly white' in the UK?

Lagos county.

It’s like looking for state that is predominantly white in South Africa given that South Africa is still better than most African countries. How on earth did you expect black to be predominant in any of the counties… you can only have good percentage, it can NEVER be predominant.

Oh! Trolleys were free in Heathrow, UK. But they're often paid for in Lagos, Nigeria. How so?

You pay for trolley in the US too. Don’t start painting the country black already. You just left and you are already doing this.

No
You will be complicating things for yourself cos you will still have to present that same statement when it's time for interview and defending a friend sponsoring you might not fly with the VO.

So get the family member soa and use it so you don't waste your admission.

Only if the school indicates the name on the i-20

Dear all,

Please my school is asking me to upload proof of account with 30, 000 dollars before they issue me i20. Can I upload a friends account now to obtain the i20 and when it is time for visa interview and then use my family account. I can’t use my family account now because the money in it is not yet complete. It will be complete in 2 months.

Please I need answers.

Yes, if the school doesn't write the name on the uploaded financial statement as your sponsor.

Good evening, everyone,

Please, while filling out my submitted DS form, I made a mistake and filled out another one. Will the former one still be visible to the Visa Officer?

Of course, YES. They will even see the one you are yet to fill.....

There should be a bot against these questions here, for goodness sake.

Of course, they won't see it. It is whichever one you have attached to your visa application 24hrs(not too sure if it's 24 or 48hrs) to your interview that would be visible to them. So you can create as many as you like. The DS 160 is enough stress even to be making unnecessary mistakes. Do try to get it right one or two times. I wish you best of Luck

The moment you're in the US as an international student, academic excellence should be your utmost pursuit. The rewards could beat your imagination. The system has been designed for you to excel if you work hard. You'd need to be involved every week, from start to finish of each semester in the courses you take in other to make 90+As or atleast 80Bs.

You'd have to participate in classes, turn in assignments, take Midterm exams, execute projects, and do your finals fantastically, some could be open book.

Also, Anything below a grade 80B is not just poor but dangerous especially if you're on funding/scholarship because It could be the end to your TA/RA. Again, you are expected to be academically driven, talented and enthusiastic to have one.

If you're in STEM, the importance of your fundamental skills in Programming ( Python, C++, MATLAB) and Mathematics can not be overstated as it could make or mar your academic performance.
PS: I took an AI & GNSS course, everything was on strictly on Python and MATLAB respectively.

Gonna look into the python thing… I hate mathematics man. It was statistics that almost lynched me last spring

Hello guys please i need help. i tried to apply for visa last year to attend a wedding around MAY. I could not because as at the date i was notable to get appointment date. ( This was handled by an agent) however he already paid for the visa fee, we later got appointment in July 2022 which was cancelled by the agent. My challenge now got admission for fall, i paid for both visa fee. Unknown to me that the agent went ahead to book for appointment for the B1 visa. Now i am trying to book a date for my F1 visa , the receipt reference of the previous payment is still showing, How can i can remove and use my present receipt number. Thanks i look forward to your kind assistance.

Slothy Nigerians. Always want everything very easy. Stop using agents. These are stuffs you could run yourselves. A lot of info is embedded in this thread alone. Why jeopardize your chances of leaving the country.

Good evening everyone.

I want to apply to a school that requires a minimum CGPA of 2.50 or minimum of 290 GRE score for admission. Unfortunately, my CGPA is 2.34/4 and my GRE score is 285. Please what do to advise?

Take GRE against and target schools that accept 2.75. To further boost your chances, evaluate your transcript

The truth is that the VO has already decided to issue him the visa. His profile is on das 160 and with full funding. He has nothing that will disqualify him. Vo's know if to give you visa or not even before you come to interview, from your ds 160. With the help of there Computer system. It summarizes the profiles of an interviewees. That's why the informations on ds160 is very important.
Full funding is the autimate in visa insurance

It’s not the ultimate. It only aids

I have seen people here not process their admission to schools in the US you expected to be given assistantship or get funding. Obviously, for you to have that notion about the school, you already did your findings about assistantship and funding availability. I have a small boy tip for you if you wouldnt say I'm back with my wahala on this thread.

If you have have an admission without funding and you are hopeful of getting one in schools you know would have fundings available probably when you get to the school. Here are few tips to make use of. (It’s just tips)

If it’s a fall admission, ride on your luck with the visa interview and hopefully when you are approved, resume earlier like a week to the US. There are lecturers and departments with internal assistantships opportunities. Applying in person seems to carry more weight here.

Secondly, you may defer your admission to spring. Here is why. After you have also applied the first tip and nothing sufficed, try your possible best to have good grades to apply for assistantships against the fall session. You would have 70% chances of landing one. Then for your outstanding fee for the spring, link up with friends to do underground job to be able to offset the bill. Be ready to work your ass off to complete the bills (Do well to not apply to schools that will kill you)

I could share my own story is anyone cares to hear. Funding opportunities shouldn’t deter you from continuing the journey.

Once again, how do you guys get straight As??

Vo good morning

Me good morning ma (while I passed my documents)

Vo you are going to the university of Maine for masters degree in animal science

Me yes, with concentration in animal nutrition.

Vo what do you do?

Me I'm a research assistant at xoxo company where I research into improvement of livestock fed hay and forages.

Vo what will you be working on at the University of Maine?

Me (I stuttered and at this point I thought I had blown it.) I will be evaluating the effect of experimental formulation of experimental diet on livestock
(this was total rubbish from what I had in mind I had to just join something to make sound legit)

VO tell me about your thesis

Me (I already gathered some momentum here) I will be working on use of fungal enzymes to develop nutritive additives to improve profitability in livestock production.

VO Who is funding your education?

Me my brother mr kazeem , who is into oil and gas business. He also has real estate business and he currently oversee the family business.

Vo what is the family business
Me we are into agro allied business

Vo (while typing voraciously for about 10 seconds rose her head and asked "you work with the federal government?

Me yes ma.(thinking I already blew it.)

Vo I will be holding on to your international passport . (Then she said those words people claim to not hear )

I remember picking the word passport and i-20. The moment I noticed she took my passport and didn't use her left hand to pick the blue paper, my mind was screaming "it's a lie"

The atmosphere was really bad today Chelsea FC just full Abuja embassy today. I would say 1 out of every 20 that went in was given white paper. I had to pinch myself if I wasn't dreaming.

This visa thing is not even by how fluent you might think you are. I was shaky throughout. At a point I told myself "Ayo, tiẹ ta". At that point I forgot what my thesis is about...I saw guys that were very fluent and even confident... na Blue paper dem collect.

Who go dash me correct jacket wey fit hold -20⁰C. Maine is not for the weak.

After making an inquiry from the school, I was given this reply;

Thank you for your inquiry and interest in our graduate program.

Our MBA program is currently accepting applications for Fall 2022 semester. Application deadline is May 1st, 2022. Your online application along with all required documents and $40 USD non-refundable application fee must be submitted to our Admissions office prior to the deadline to be considered. Please note that our MBA program is a 100% online program- we do not issue I-20 for MBA international students for this reason.

I dont understand what you want people to tell you after getting this reply. you want to be told to go ahead that you would eventually be given I-20 to go the embassy? or you dont really understand the english that was used in that reply?.....we Nigerians are so funny
