thats in Nigeria... its a different ball game in America. even some teaching assistants handling a full course are referred to as professors. so Professor here is just a teacher/master of a particular course. NiceLegs: My point exactly.
More reason why they should answer Lecturer and not Professor.
Professor is something you earn from years of hardwork with series of publications to your name after a Ph.D program and not becos i got a lecturing job. |

These people believe you be doing your undergrad between the ages of 17.5-19 max... so if you are over that and you apply to undergrad, they wonder why you are so hell bent on coming to thier contry to do your undergrad. Im not saying people dont get it but its more convincing to them is you are within that age range. to further boost your son's chance, tell him to claim he has been doing his diploma and also volunteering at any institution related to the course hes planning to come and study... nothing weet them more than this. Muniquelily: I dont understand why it is hard o. My son has been rejected twice. What is not doing right. I feel he is not confident and bold. I think you explained too much and it backfired. The moment you mentioned he is indebted to you. Next time, try something like your brother handles the family business since your parent passed. it already explains why your brother must sponsor you. if asked if he has traveled before, tell the interviewer that he's well traveled. by so doing, it would give the VO the idea that your brother understands how much living abroad cost and he's ready to commit to it. also add one more solid business to his business. That's my 2 cent JessicaGodwin: Hey guys pls I need corrections on where I got it wrong F1 visa First attempt Lagos consulate White lady on window 2😡 Denied
Me: Good morning ma Vo: Good morning, pls pass me ur passport and i:20 Me: there u go ma with a smile in my nice suit.
Vo: who is covering your expenses? Me: outside the scholarship of $20,000 awarded to me upon admission, my uncle Bleep will be covering the remaining expenses. He owns a private enterprise where he deals on sales on rice grain, he has a annual income of over #380million with staff capacity of 36 both in warehouse and other shops. My uncle has been sponsoring my education since after the death of my parents and he feels indebted to my family because my mother saw him through sch and seeing how well I’ve improved over time has shown interest in helping me pursue my academic career.
Vo: And what is his take home after expenditure? Me: over #150m.
Vo: Had ur uncle traveled to the United state before? Me: No, he hasn’t because of his business.
Vo: Have u travelled to the us before? Me: No ma, this would be my first time if my visa is being approved.
Vo: sorry u are not qualified for this visa, the remaining part nor gree enter my heat again😪 |

Big man, I'm not trying to sound condescending o. No V.O would grant your visa as a 34 year old going for undergrad. The best route is to come to this country through graduate schould, preferably a PhD program or post doc considering your age. Thats why I always advise people to never back down on doing their first masters degree in Nigeria. When you get to this country, you can decide to do undergrad as you wish. in fact, you can do whatever you like as soon as you enter US. Horllar1990: Good day sir,
I need your opinion. I've noticed that those relocating to USA are mostly graduate students on scholarship and I've not heard or seen a video on YouTube advertising to those who wants to relocate via undergraduate study. I wanna ask, can someone apply for undergraduate study and get a scholarship too and what's the age limit. Can a 34 year old apply for undergraduate despite having OND certificate.. |

Olugene: Good evening, everyone,
Please, while filling out my submitted DS form, I made a mistake and filled out another one. Will the former one still be visible to the Visa Officer? Of course, YES. They will even see the one you are yet to fill..... There should be a bot against these questions here, for goodness sake. Of course, they won't see it. It is whichever one you have attached to your visa application 24hrs(not too sure if it's 24 or 48hrs) to your interview that would be visible to them. So you can create as many as you like. The DS 160 is enough stress even to be making unnecessary mistakes. Do try to get it right one or two times. I wish you best of Luck |

Schrodinger2: The moment you're in the US as an international student, academic excellence should be your utmost pursuit. The rewards could beat your imagination. The system has been designed for you to excel if you work hard. You'd need to be involved every week, from start to finish of each semester in the courses you take in other to make 90+As or atleast 80Bs.
You'd have to participate in classes, turn in assignments, take Midterm exams, execute projects, and do your finals fantastically, some could be open book.
Also, Anything below a grade 80B is not just poor but dangerous especially if you're on funding/scholarship because It could be the end to your TA/RA. Again, you are expected to be academically driven, talented and enthusiastic to have one.
If you're in STEM, the importance of your fundamental skills in Programming ( Python, C++, MATLAB) and Mathematics can not be overstated as it could make or mar your academic performance. PS: I took an AI & GNSS course, everything was on strictly on Python and MATLAB respectively. Gonna look into the python thing… I hate mathematics man. It was statistics that almost lynched me last spring |

haywhy17: I have seen people here not process their admission to schools in the US you expected to be given assistantship or get funding. Obviously, for you to have that notion about the school, you already did your findings about assistantship and funding availability. I have a small boy tip for you if you wouldnt say I'm back with my wahala on this thread. If you have have an admission without funding and you are hopeful of getting one in schools you know would have fundings available probably when you get to the school. Here are few tips to make use of. (It’s just tips) If it’s a fall admission, ride on your luck with the visa interview and hopefully when you are approved, resume earlier like a week to the US. There are lecturers and departments with internal assistantships opportunities. Applying in person seems to carry more weight here. Secondly, you may defer your admission to spring. Here is why. After you have also applied the first tip and nothing sufficed, try your possible best to have good grades to apply for assistantships against the fall session. You would have 70% chances of landing one. Then for your outstanding fee for the spring, link up with friends to do underground job to be able to offset the bill. Be ready to work your ass off to complete the bills (Do well to not apply to schools that will kill you) I could share my own story is anyone cares to hear. Funding opportunities shouldn’t deter you from continuing the journey. Once again, how do you guys get straight As ?? |
