There's really no 'real' tribal hostility in the South and between the constituent parts of the South. Walahi. Forget the fake tribalism on Nairaland or twitter. Asides the equal opportunity criminality that comes with time and chance, and can happen to anyone anywhere, there's nothing fundamentally dangerous for any Igbo person in Ekiti or any Yoruba person in Enugu.. Or any mix in between Asaba, Benin, Calabar, Ibadan, Awka and Port Harcourt.
The only real threat of an ethnic coloration there has ever been and will continue to be is in the core abokki North. Whether your name is Emeka, Tunde, Efosa, or Akpan, if dem born you well, go and serve or settle in Maiduguri or Kano or Katsina.. And come back to tell us about your experience.
I have always canvassed for the Republic of Southern Nigeria, shorn of the abokki savages and parasites. That's the only practicable way forward. Unless you're ready to divide Nigeria into 200 countries. |

harsysky: Life is a risk. like a reader commented up there, time and chance happen to people whether you choose to up your game or you choose to marry when not buoyant. If I had not seen a poor man who rose to wealth , and a wealthy man who became poor, I would certainly think a man has 100% influence on how their lives go .
The overall advice would be to have a source of income before dabbling into marriage, then get other sources of income to complement whatever cometh. At all times, pray without ceasing because real wealth isn't made, it is inherited from anybody. Take a look at majority of those who are billionaires, you would agree with me that they never believed they would be what they are now. If we all understand the way things work in this world, which isn't possible, we will be able to predict the future.
Is there anyone who is a liability? No. it's a matter of meeting someone whom God has given the ability to unlock that passion in you. I have seen and learned a lot in just a lil amount of time. The most striking knowledge is to never , ever look down on anyone even if they are foolish. Just like the saying, " what doesn't kill one, makes one stronger". I'm stronger for all I have seen and learned. I go all the way opposite of what majority think is best because I have this sole belief that God is both the producer and director of what we are living on here--the earth. A lot of rules here and there to even make one think that following all the rules could make you live longer than Methuselah, but it is all wash.
Enjoy what ever time you have in this world, and never judge those you think you are better than. Never lean on your own understanding.
Reads exactly like what I'd write in my 'inspired' moments. You're wise my son. |

Their gallantry is overhyped, only gallant when bullying civilians. The Nigerian military is very useless. Filled with incompetent and unprofessional nincompoops. Their only area of competence is bullying unarmed civilians and engaging soft targets such as IPOB. Just imagine 18 whole soldiers slaughtered like rats by ordinary criminal ragtags. If you're wondering why there seems to be shortage of shoemakers, 'obiomas', gworo hawkers, and other abokki artisans and petty traders of late, the reason isn't far fetched. Most abokki youth are now embracing banditry... Especially kidnapping.
At this rate Nigeria would be worse than Somalia, Afghanistan, and Syria combined if we don't wake up. The threat isn't ordinary criminality, because at least Southern criminals have sense. We're dealing with subhuman Fulani animals with zero sense and an abundance of mindless and needless violence. Bastards for whom there is no method to their madness.
Let's forget politics and fleeting personal gain. We have a crisis on our hands. |

Politics › Re: The Real Situation In Nigeria Is More Of Societal Than Government Woes-sarrki by Hedonisco: 7:18pm On Jul 19, 2020 |
Dasuks: This is the same thing as complaining that Nigerians dont stay in line or asking why people pay police at roadblocks.
Nigeria like any other country is made up of an aggregate of ppl all making different diverse decisions. Transacting with each other and trying to land a good deal for themselves. Now it is a lie to say that the regular Nigerian is responsible for his predicament without highlighting the personalization of governance and political processes.
The bulk of the country is lower income and many of the subjects u mentioned are barely representative of the country's people. Military fiat rule and corrupt civilian politicking has essentially created an isolated existence for the unprotected. For example, Murtala ruined lives with his brash civil service reforms that ended up incentivising personal welfare over government and public interest on the part of civil servants. That a Jonathan or a Buhari or whomever can retire u maliciously or strip u of particular benefits by legal means or intimidation gets one thinking more personal about the now and their belle. Not their job to dole out permits , execute policy or perform their duties as they should. This ofc ricochets for the regular man. The ordinary Nigerian who lives within the framework set from above. He is forced to transact on his level with whatever or whomever can protect his welfare, regardless of the secondary impact on his environment. This is just an example. An example that u can extrapolate across the board to every facet of life (military civilian govt- work private-sector private-life school etc).
The theme is set from above. Because esp in our country where consumption and investments are functions of government expenditure and earnings which is ofc driven by net exports of oil, people's actual livelihoods depend on what they can secure for themselves in the economic pie/national cake complex. Those who dont act are left behind in line. Or so it would seem. Even tho ofc that's not true. One can live a good productive life and still be well off. However, emotions and panic usually yield a rather uncouth reaction from most ppl. Whether uncharacteristic or not.
When a president or governor or ranking public servant can act above laws, sit on top systems and dictate in an extralegal and informal manner it transfers down the line. Personal power is a problem in Nigeria and Africa. Because the authority is not held in impersonal institutions where the individual matters less than established procedure.
Taking out examples of malfunction in our daily life without explaining the root cause is too simplistic. Basically reading out domestic iterations of a concept and not defining its roots and sources. Which you have wrongly defined as being situated at the ground level. What emanates from the populace that makes it a source? Is it investable funds almost entirely in the hands of the state and high business or even political choice that is controlled by party bigwigs? Or the frustration and poverty that reeks at the bottom of the ladder is what qualifies it as the 'source'?
Buhari GEJ Obj Ibb Abdulsalami Tinubu Wike etc all of them are the problem. These individuals and many more like them, have abrogated to themselves the destinies of millions by virtue of control of state power. Not any exceptional ability. That's why the country is stagnant. Willful and thoughtful leadership is the real solution. The problem with this point of view is that it creates artificial distinctions between the 'government' and the people whereas there really isn't a difference, because the government entirely consists of people of same stock and hue. I. E. The people. The so-called IBB, OBJ, GEJ, Amaechi, etc, that constitute the ruling elite, 99% of them come from humble backgrounds. Many of them were dirt poor idiots who life and its vicissitudes favored. Ordinary people join the elite ranks daily, by virtue of luck, favorable moves, etc. Look at someone like GEJ for instance and analyse his trajectory. The point is that the ordinary, lowly Nigerian of this moment, once he happens upon some wealth, or power, or influence, is likely to abuse it. This dysfunction, or malaise if you will, in my well-considered opinion, is a bottom-up problem. It doesn't flow from the so-called 'leaders'. Nigeria's problem is a people problem, not a leadership problem contrary to what the likes of Chinua Achebe and yourself would argue. If we had enough numbers of conscientious and above board ordinary people, Nigeria wouldnt be the shithole it is today. Pure and simple. The leaders aren't aliens. They come from amongst us. If the present and past crop of political and public office holders are wiped out completely, and replaced with randomly (or even purposively) selected Nigerians picked from common folk, things would remain the same if not worse. The fools would simply see themselves as the next set of people to 'chop' the proverbial National Cake. It would be their 'turn' to be a menace to society. Simply a change of personnel and identities while the flawed system remains unchanged. The change we all crave will never flow from top to bottom, because even if by some stoke of luck an angel is appointed president, there wouldn't be a critical mass of like-minded and reformist 'enforcers' across the public positions, bureaucracy, and further down to drive the desired change. There is something fundamental wrong with Nigerians (and by extension, the black man, but that's a matter for another day). And this 'something' afflicts both leaders and followers (who are essentially the same, with merely different social circumstances). |

Odidigboigbo: that serves him right. But will that detered others in the game or willing to join the game? Certainly NO Lol. The consequences of financial struggle or poverty and the allure of wealth in this part of the world far far far outweighs the deterrence value of this laughable 0.0001% arrest of characters like woodberry and co. Thousands of peeps would join this trade everyday, just how thousands of abokki Fulani bastards would continue joining the violent banditry and kidnapping 'business' daily (and it is sad that the more dangerous kidnapping menace daily perpetrated by these Fulani animals receives less attention than mere Internet fraud). The bottom line is that You can't deter them by token arrest or imprisonment of a tiny few. You can only disrupt the systems they rely on, to make it harder for multitudes to join the bandwagon. |
