Young man, GEJ sacked Stella Oduah to please the baying mob of Nigerians, even though Stella Oduah did nothing wrong with respect to the popular allegation. To repeat for emphasis, GEJ sha SACKED Oduah! Has Buhari sacked Adeosun? Why the unnecessary comparison?

And then to come to the real issues, so-called BMW cars, Stella Oduah didn't use or buy. It was for NCAA. An independent agency of government. BOUGHT by NCAA, but only 'oversightedly' signed 'needfully' by Oduah as the supervising Minister. That's not the same thing as entertaining the presence of a PROVEN certificate forger and perjurer in your cabinet like Buhari is doing.

Why hasn't Buhari sacked Adeosun? She deserves to be prosecuted and jailed for lying under oath and falsifying a government document but let's leave that for now. Why has the Federal Government of Buhari not even reacted at all, and SACK her first when she's apparently guilty?

A party chairman has ZERO legal or conventional power over a minister of the Federal Republic. Constitutionally, a minister owes his appointment and allegiance to the president ONLY. In fact, to show you why the party has nothing to do with it, many ministers have been appointed throughout our democratic history that didn't belong to the so-called ruling party.

When Obasanjo appointed the late Cicero of Esa Oke, more generally known as Bola Ige, first as minister of Power and Steel, and subsequently as AGF and Minister of Justice, he (Bola Ige) was a prominent member of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) as it then was! What could Solomon Lar (of blessed memory), as PDP party chairman, have dictated to Bola Ige? Nothing. Because the party had no say over him whatsoever. Ministers are only answerable to the president. Full stop.

I'm not in the mood for long history and law lessons, so let me leave it at that.

If you had bothered to peruse a few of LibertyReps posts you would have known that he is no Jonathan hater.

I was a Jonathan supporter myself but as the election drew near he lost my unwavering support(although NOTHING in Heaven or Earth could have made me support Buhari)and I sensed he was going to lose for a myriad of reasons. One of which was the lacklustre campaign, another was his condoning Tinubu-Jega moves.

But the real reason he eventually lost was only revealed to me as I watched him on Buhari's inauguration. Jonathan was elated that day- no acting. The man was so happy to handover. That's when I realised the man was actually tired of the post and if you know inside stories of how he got there it's clear The Presidency was what his wife wanted not him.

My anger with Jonathan was due to his all round cowardice. Nothing stopped him from damning his wife and cronies and inviting Atiku (not because Atiku is a saint but definitely because he was and remains the only man who can beat Buhari) to hand over the PDP primaries. Atiku would have won 2015 election and Nigeria would be better off today

Instead he just meekly went to slaughter (against opponents that were highly determined and ready to use all manner of demonic lies and propaganda against him).

He was and remains a weakling. A good man. A man that will never shed blood. But a weakling just the same.

The biggest lesson I learnt from that drama is

Never Give Power To A Weak Man, For He Is Bound To Lose It.

I was like you before. In the immediate aftermath of Jonathan's loss in 2015, I was extremely depressed, mad and I wished him death for being a "weakling". But then, there's a lot about these things. One can never be as wise and as knowledgeable as the sages of old and the gods. But at least, one can gain deep insight with a little bit of patience and hindsight. Everything happens for a reason. And the reason Jonathan relinquished power so seemingly weakly is to help Nigeria learn the hard way. It's a very long learning curve. Now Nigeria can see Buhari for who he really is. No "had it been" permutations.

Let's leave Jonathan out of it for now, because the main reason I quoted you isn't about Jonathan. It's about the emboldened last paragraph. Everything is wrong with that statement. First, there's nothing like a "weak man". A man is only as strong as his motivations and resources. But that's not even the point.

No one GIVES power.

Power is seldom "given". It is TAKEN.

Any person or group of persons who purport to 'give' power would only do so to someone they can control - i.e. to a supposedly "weak" person. In that sense, nobody gives power, they only seek to retain power by installing a (weak) figurehead that can help them achieve this. Jonathan owes his accent to power 100% to Obasanjo. Objectively speaking, If Jonathan was really weak, he would have been Obasanjo's stooge till the end, but of course, we know he wasn't.

As experience has shown throughout history, anyone who supposedly gives power to anyone else on the hope to control such a person often ends up disappointed.

In the context of political power, nobody is strong or weak. We're only as strong or weak as our motivations AND resources allow. Jonathan didn't have the motivation to gain or retain power, hence his reluctance to use the MIGHTY resources at his disposal to perpetuate himself. On the flip side, Buhari had/has the motivation to retain power by all means, hence he is using and shall use all the resources at his disposal to do so.

Therefore, there's nothing like giving or not giving power to a "weak" man. Power is never given in the real sense. Even if it were, nobody in the position to give power would ever give it to a "strong" man.

Look at the demented party chairman. The APC is just a joke.

Then again, this short fool called Adams doesn't have the temperament and leadership quality required to be a party chairman. How dare he give orders and talk condescendingly to Ngige, as if he is in anyway superior to him. Well, I trust that Small Stout of a man called Ngige. He would put Oshiomole in his black and ugly place.

But ultimately, this provides further proof that Buhari isn't in charge. Re-electing the senile old bigot next year would mean that Nigeria would run rudderlessly under the control of multiple power cells for four bloody years.. The country would not survive such.

Nigeria's politics is not ripe enough to admit distinguished and accomplished gentlemen like Akin Ogunbiyi.

Adeleke stands a better chance of winning the main gubernatorial election than Ogunbiyi, that's the truth. The illiterate rural dwellers who are in the majority and who are the ones whose votes count the most would prefer to vote Adeleke because that's who they know.

The same thing happens at the national level where an animal like Buhari and his supporters would boast that his 'standby' millions of voters in the north don't even know what the Internet means, let alone social media. Meaning that there happy to keep their voters poor, illiterate, and unenlightened so that they would continue using them like pawns.

In other words the majority of voters are not enlightened enough to vote for competent candidates. They'd rather vote for a brain dead cattle rearer like Buhari, than vote for someone like Donald Duke or Sowore. That's our present level of political development in Nigeria.

Looking at him sef, he has the body language of leadership and action. A doer who would be decisive about issues, rather than the slow poison that is currently fouling up the air in Aso Rock. Best of all, Atiku is the most detribalised and liberal core northerner I know, with vast network of contacts and stakes across Nigeria. Heck, his two most well known wives are even Southern Christian women - Madam Titi is a jaiye jaiye Christian woman from Osun State, while Jennifer is from Anambra State. Nobody can accuse Atiku of being bigoted, or being a religious or ethnocentric fanatic.

I feel Nigerians must give this man a chance to acquit himself.

Nigerian senior lecturers and professors are fond of misusing/misappropriating research grants. If any international organisation or donor agency provides millions in grants, it is not meant to fund your flamboyant lifestyle or to buy 'big Jeep'. It is meant to fund knowledge development - research!

The only legal ways to make money as a scholar is through your legitimate salaries, sales of published books, and in some cases fees for consulting services. Only a tiny percentage of Nigerian scholars are good enough to command legitimate mega fees for consulting work. The overwhelming majority are just bloody incompetent thieves.
