On a side note, I think the most consistent artiste in the modern era has got to be Timaya. I don't know how he does it, but he has a string of hits every year and is an expert at successfully recreating his sound and style. This has been so for many years now. Others should take lessons from him. |

Besides he is still as relevant and as 'in our faces' as ever, so there's really no basis for including him in this inglorious list. |

Wonderful development.
But this is just the beginning. I am currently compiling a long list of civilian brutalisation/human rights abuse incidents perpetrated by these unprofessional and undisciplined animals in the Nigerian Armed Forces, and would publicise them via a well-structured and heavily funded social media platform, with the support of international agencies that I'm currently establishing contacts with.
The already battered image of the Nigerian Armed Forces is just about to get more battered than ever before. This ridiculous sense of superiority and disdain for civilians by Nigerian soldiers has reached its apogee. It's time to take the fight to their doorstep. In a constitutional democracy, the military is SUBORDINATE to civil authority and derives its legitimacy from civil authority. Nigeria's case cannot be different.
Enough is enough. |

In accordance with the Nigerian Army’s policy of zero tolerance to unprofessional conduct as well as its uncompromising stance on discipline and commitment to the rule of law, 6 Division Nigerian Army has charged, tried and found Private Suleiman Olamilekan of 6 Division Garrison, Port Harcourt guilty of the maltreatment of Miss Ebere Ohakwe. He was accordingly sentenced to 28 days Imprisonment with Hard Labour (IHL) and the forfeiture of his salary for same number of days to the Federal Government of Nigeria. 2. It would be recalled that there was a report in the social media that the soldier maltreated one Miss Ebere Ohakwe at Omagwa Checkpoint along Port Harcourt - Onitsha Road on 30th January 2017. This prompted the decision of the authorities of the Headquarters 6 Division to thoroughly investigate the matter with the view to serving justice adequately as required by the laws of the Nigerian Army. Consequently, the General Officer Commanding 6 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Enobong Okon Udoh ordered the immediate arrest of the soldier and his Guard Commander for investigation and disciplinary action. A billionaire businessman or any other wealthy figure can easily give a gift of $1m to any judge or anybody for that matter. TechsNG: Exactly! As OP rightly pointed out, the dogs are usually caged. Perhaps, if the dog was familiar with everyone in the compound, this wouldn't have happened.
Sorta reminds me of when i was hurting for an apartment. I got this apartment in a particular estate. Every thing seem fine until i saw a pitbull that was chained. Although i have my own dogs, they are properly socialized and not usually chained. I wouldn't want to take my dogs out by 5am only to get attacked by a hungry pitbull who spends most of the day behind lease. And for that particular reason, i couldn't take that apartment.
Dog lovers/Owners/Breeders should learn to socialize their dogs properly. To avoid issues like this. All this one na story. Socialised or democratised, doesn't make any difference. You should NOT own/rear dogs in a shared compound with other tenants. It's really that simple. Not everyone likes animals and not everyone can stand/cope with them. It's not considerate to keep dogs in a house where other independent occupants live. Even if they don't bite, their mere sight/presence is a massive nuisance to those who don't share your affinity for dogs. |

IRALIFE: And the men? As you would know if you have any iota of common sense, in our culture (and in most parts of Africa) men and women don't have the same roles, privileges, limitations, and expectations. That's why a man is required to pay your bride price. That's why you change your surname to the man's own. That's why a man can openly marry more than one wife if he wishes. That's why your parents would flog you back to your husband's house if you claim you want to exit the marriage MERELY because your husband "cheated' (duh). You have to earn trust. Besides, what do you mean by "endangering her life"? Her life is perfectly safe as long as she remains faithful! And if she is ultimately unfaithful and gets into trouble as a consequence, her life is meaningless to the husband, so what's the fuss about? |
