Buhari did not apply for any loan at that period for collecting presidential form. Buhari paid for the APC presidential form with Bank Overdraft.

A bank overdraft is designed for customers who have bad credit record. It is a credit facility but not necessary a loan which grant a bank customer to withdraw more than what the customer have with the bank. An overdraft occur when money is withdrawn from a bank account and the available balance goes below zero. The negative balance is draft which will be covered when money is deposited into the said account.

There was no loan parsay. Buhari had enough as people were already donating for him. I can proudly mention here that I am one of those who donated token for his campaign. Buhari was asked to pick up the form right inside Oyegun office when he went there for declaration. It was his manager who granted him overdraft. Overdraft unlike loan does not attract collateral and subsequent payment into that account will pay off the negative balance.

No political party in the world has ever published their account statement. Fayose hadnt done anything close to that. I dont know why you expect APC which new in Nigeria political sphere to do such. Everyone cannot be daft like you are.

It is a duty of a political aspirant to declare interest for a post and buy form which officially affirm his interest. It is also the party duty to fund the campaign of their candidate.

APC is a national institution and has to capacity to pump billions into the campaign of her candidate. This fund amounting to billions come from due payment, donation, sponsorship from members, fans and families. Buhari with CPC campaigned with vechicles donated to him by friends and close associate. APC has bigwigs and businessmen as members who could pump billions into Buhari campaign. It does not necessary mean Buhari should pay or take loan for his campaign. That is the job of a political party.

Each party chapter contribute lot to national politics.

Donations sprang in from different angle. Some pay in a thousand, some in multiple thousand, some in ten and hundred thousands. Some in millions, ten and hundred million. APC faithful members are up to a million. Even if they donated 1000 naira each, that is a bilion naira. Add up money from non partisan fans. There was a report of a woman who paid millions from her saving. There was a report of a little girl who gave out more than six thousand naira. Adding these donations together is closing up to 10bn.

Buhari did not take any loan. He only paid for his form with bank overdraft. Bank overdraft is not the samething as loan as it does not involve collateral just like the using of credit card.

The entitlements, dues, pension fund he receive before been sworn in is enough to balance his negative balanced account. He only need to sit back and watch the Party doing the remaining job for him.

Read my first reply to you , a candidate is only required to buy nomination form while the party is expected to sponsor the candidate for the elections . Ever wonder why the cost of form is 27million for presidency? it's expected that the party has it's own money generating mechanisms I.e. dues ,levies, fund raising and even INEC gives political parties money . Fayose and zenith never mentioned any loan agreement between them so it wasn't a loan but since we don't know what is between the two keys not speculate.
Buratai declared the houses in his CCB forms so that means he had them before becoming chief of army it's left to EFCC to ask him the sources , no law is against acquiring wealth legitimately , not by using arms money to acquire properties.
Like a comment said GEJ has given you the freedom of information act use it to compel APC to release the details of their campaign funds, dasukigate has revealed how pdp election was funded.

If you can go back to news sources during the electioneering you will find your answers. have you forgitten Lots of ordinary folks gave their little contributions together to aid pmb campaign ,have you forgotten about the old food seller that have her life savings? Have you forgotten the various donations from party members and well meaning individuals both home and abroad? Besides a candidate only has to purchase the nomination form the party sponsors him or her for the election.
This fayose issue is different because by his own admission the bank approached him and pledged to make some funds available for his election and asked him to nominate a person who will receive the money . While pmb approached the bank for a loan and provided collateral (how can you be asking someone here to tell you which collateral approach the bank of you want to know ) and he was granted a loan which is a public record . Is it not now that the bubble has burst that we know of zenith banks sponsoring of fayose.

Now answer this question, since we know Buhari legitimately sourced loans from a bank to purchase the nomination form of the APC, how exactly did Fayose's bank legitimately sponsored his own campaign?

It's perfectly ok for any leader to eat anywhere and if Fayose feels like spending his days and nights camped out with kponmo seller or ewa agonyin seller, good for him, but leadership is being productive, providing infrastructures to better the lives of the people, creating programs and policies move your people forward which till Fayose is allergic to and can not and can never do.

His brand of leadership is limited to roadside pandering and market runs.

EFCC is not the only agency with powers of prosecution. When a civil servant steals from the state government, they don't usually wait for EFCC to prosecute him. Tell the ministry of justice in Rivers to do their job since EFCC have refused to prosecute. This is a federal democracy and the federal government doesn't have a monopoly over which case to prosecute or not.

If any commission in Rivers state is so sure that Amaechi misappropriated £338million, the Rivers state government through the Rivers state ministry of justice should charge him to court. He has no immunity from criminal prosecution, they should charge him to court and stop making wild allegations.

Buhari is already prosecuting those who stole at the federal level, state should please join the fight against corruption by prosecuting those who stole state funds.

Separately, Amaechi is accused of diverting £140million of state funds into Buhari’s presidential campaign, with reports he paid for media, consultants and private jets.

The allegations come as the president stands accused of enjoying a lavish lifestyle while many millions suffer in poverty.

A leaked draft budget for 2016 showed the Nigerian government earmarked £16million for the refurbishment and maintenance of the president’s official residence, Aso Rock Guest House, in the capital Abuja.

There was also a request for £13million for building a VIP wing at a hospital used by families of the president and his ministerial team.

Mr Amaechi has denied the allegations against him.

I keep saying this and I always will, I don't belong to any party but we Nigerians are the architect of our present predicament. We always want magicians as policy makes and if Professor Pella had contested for any political office, we'd not have cast one vote for him.
This write up is premature as far as I'm concerned.

I'm neither for Umar nor for Saraki. I'm for justice. My point is clear, Umar might not have moral justification to preside over any case if he's been indicted by EFCC. However, Saraki doesn't have moral right to ask him to handover the case. Reason being that in a sane society Saraki should have resign long ago to clear his name. Though any accused person is innocent until proved guilty but he shouldn't have dragged that highly exalted office to such a mess. Moreover, Saraki is not being prosecuted by EFCC as you claim. Rather Saraki is being prosecuted by the Federal government over asset declaration. So I don't see how EFCC can influence Umar in any way.

Honestly, I rather prefer Saraki defend himself and clear him name since he claimed not guilty instead of using all these delay tactics.

I still ask, if a police ever arrest and discharge you even the previous day, does that mean you cannot preside over a criminal case brought by police again? Assuming a judge is wrongfully accused of a crime, arrested and discharged, he should be perpetually disqualified from entertaining a criminal case? you just answer

If the chairman now disqualifies himself, who continues the case? Another chairman to be screened by the same senate?

People like you who want the perpetuation of corruption will not see the impending conflict and lacuna. Or, actually, it is what you want, so Saraki (I'm sure he is your mentor) can go Scot free.

Why do you think Saraki wants Umar gone. There is only one reason.

A new CCT Chairman must be screened by the senate. In which case, Saraki and his cohorts will only approved any judge who promises to throw the case away. Imagine judges lobbying Saraki to become the CCT Judge, what do you think is at stake? JUSTICE!

It is impunity waiting to happen and every right thinking Nigerian must reject it. No one should be allowed to appoint the very judge that will dock him. That is a prerequisite for complete bias and impunity.
