A lot of Nigerians have felt loneliness at one point or the other in the US and they were able to manage it without becoming depressed and if, without taking antidepressants.

Stop lying to him. I took anti-depressants for many years and I can swear by them any day that they were the best things that ever happened to me as the depressed soul I was before it all.

By the way, antidepressants are not meant to "solve the problem". Rather, they are to help people with mental illness manage their condition so that they can live a life that at least comes close to the one they prefer. Give them more control over an otherwise uncontrollable situation that is mental illness. If the mental illness is there for all of your life, what would you rather the mentally ill do? Refuse to use what is at least available to help them live a more comfortable life.

I am not lieing to him. I just dropped my observation. And you further buttress my observation in your reply.

He needs more outdoors, sun and gratefulness.

And on being happy generally. You need to find ways to be grateful for what you have and what you have accomplished in life. Think of millions of people that are behind you and praying daily to be where you are.

Think of where you are coming from, where you are now and use that as a way to motivate yourself.

You have a wife, good job, good home, you are legal in the US etc. I am sure there are many you can look inwards to.

There are many Nigerians that are praying daily to be like you even in this US.

Okay. About the general loneliness. I will suggest you try to connect with some Nigerian groups in Ohio, or some other black African groups. They are there in Ohio. You can do a search in Facebook for them. Connect with them, go for their functions and meetings. You can take it from there.

2. You and your wife should try and have an outing activity at least per week. Outing can be visiting new places, going to outdoor exercises like hiking, going to watch sports events, etc.

3. You and your wife can also had traveling within Ohio and the US.

4. My philosophy on depression in the US is to get more outdoors. It works wonders. Try to replicate that our naija life as much as possible.

5. People have suggested churches too. You can start going to church to build some support base and not to be religious.

The body belongs to the owner. Same way money belongs to who made it. But in marriages, both men and women have advocated that body and money belong to both parties as they are supposed to become 1.

If it's a deal breaker for you, and your partner deny you sex or money, you can divorce them.

OP already has evidence that they cannot resolve the problem WITHOUT VIOLENCE. So, why in the world are you still suggesting he try to mediate? Those two do not belong together and should be kept separate at all costs in order to avoid the unthinkable — well murder.

Because the violence is being hidden by the woman calls for more digging.

Also, there have been marriages that have witnessed violence at one time or the other in their journey because of ignorance of either or both parties. And with proper education and counseling, they stopped the violence and were able to stay married.

Also, no two marriages are 100pct replica, so are their problems. It is usually a case by case.

In marriages issues, actions that lead to divorce must be reserved for the last.

Domestic violence should not be tolerated at all.

But I think you are running over emotion now. Do the following

1. Separate your sister from the house for now.
2. Look for people that can talk to your sister to open up her side of the story
3. Call the husband and hear his side of the story. Be calm while doing this. Don't let emotions overrun you.
4. Find out who is the person starting the violence at home. It could be either party.
5. If they can't settle their issues without violence, they should stay separated.
6. If both are willing to stop violence, you can work on settling their matter.

This has been settled and clarified,

Trump is fooling you guys, I will remind you when the case is tossed out in the court of law. Trump will just be fooling around by multiple appeals.

This is same way Roe V Wade was overturned. Supreme Court established and later overturned Roe V Wade. Supreme Court can still overturn its old judgment.

I still maintain this case is a toss up. It can be won by either party.

Going by your flawed perspective, all the children born to illegal immigrants after the 14th amendment was ratified (July 9, 1868) should be stripped of their citizenship.

Trump can win and can lose. It is a toss up case at the US Supreme Court.

Trump will argue on the original intent of having the 14th amendment which was to give citizenship to freed black slaves.

Democrats will argue jurisdiction because everyone in the US, except foreign diplomats are subject to US jurisdiction.

It all depends on which side the Supreme Court agrees.

The fight in supreme court is going to be centered around the intent of 14th amendment.

The intent then was to ensure all freed black slaves became recognized as US citizens.

It was never for everyone all over the world to come to the US to give birth to US citizens.
