We all know that the controversial reserves was squandered together with the state governors. What we need from the FG is a detailed account of how the monies were shared through the CBN and finance ministry and what the monies were used for.

On the $1billion from the ECA, What can we do when the governors sees the president as a Doormat? He should learn how to handle the governors!

We keep blaming the governors on the ECA and I always find that funny, let the FG puts its own portion in a savings accounts, Shebi the FG gets 56% of whatever is shared, the 56% can be put in a special account that only the FG has access to, states can be encouraged and not forced to do likewise, question is, what did the FG do with its share.

Eko Ile: Not everything is misplaced priority, in fact this is a very smart priority for so many reasons.


1. Creates jobs from construction to final operations

2, Boost the local economy by circulating a good chunk of that money in and around the local economy.

3. Deliver an up to date and modern infrastructure to serve the region

4. Divert traffic and commerce from the old and outdated airports in the surrounding states.

5. Creation of support economies and jobs like flight catering, ticketing agencies, cab service and so on.


Why fly into old airports with outdated facilities when a new airport with modern airport facilities and landing systems is available just a few miles away?


If marketed properly, this is the new regional airport with more than enough strength to take away business and commercial activities away from the
other airports ion the area.


It's a shrewd move and it makes no sense to pull back on development and potential economic gains just because of other entities and considerations.

Looking at it from whats on ground, the federal government has more responsibilities than the states, from the civil service to security to foreign affairs, power, transportation etc...
Like i said they both need to be accountable. We need not be biased or one-sided in this matter.

I do not have a problem with accountability, but, this thread was opened to put pressure on states, meanwhile FG with a whopping 56% can not point at a tangible thing achieved.

Who got the lion share between the states and the FG, there are 36 states and one FG, we can see what states that get less than 5% are doing, what is the FG doing with its humongous allocation.

I noticed the emboldened too. A traveler that went to parts of the Southeast after say 6 months would notice a significance difference in terms of the roads been reconstructed and/or repaired; Real noticeable difference, without the usual fanfare as you put it.

You mentiond Power, Road, Airports etc, but I just watched the work going on in the Oguta Inland River port (Imo state) courtesy of the so-called 'Good Governance Tour'. The port construction that started last year or so is almost complete (is expected to e complete by March at least, the same time that the two other River ports- at Baru and Lokoja- that are also been constructed are also expected to be completed). An already dredged River Niger and 4 new ports built within 2 years is simply the most critical improvements in the Inland Waterways of this nation since Independence. Great stuffs are in deed happening.

Just to say though that more should be done by the Govt in terms of Security. Just read that 12 persons were killed somewhere in Borno and another 6 in Kano on same day; really SAD in deed.

How much are they doing all these things, what is the quality of work being done, Abeg let me not derail this thread, @OP, this is another waste, our governments (all of them) can not run something like this well.
