Politics › Re: What Is Your Expectation of G E J Presidency 2011 - 2015 by hercules07: 8:59pm On Apr 17, 2011
Nigerians are their own worst enemies, we have voted in a man that people feel is decent ( no achievement in twelve years) on the platform of a party that has enslaved us, my own take on everything is that we are not ready for good leadership, when we are ready for it, the Ijaw man, the Yoruba man will vote in people who will best represent his interests irrespective of tribes. I do not expect anything from a GEJ Presidency, electricity might come but the costs will be too high, corruption will remain the same, the law enforcement agents will continue to abuse the law and last but not least, there will not be true federalism.
Politics › Re: Consolation For Bb Supporters. Pls Read. by hercules07: 8:46pm On Apr 17, 2011
As a BB supporter, I still believe in Buhari, he might have lost this battle, in the long run, decent Nigerians who see the impending doom that the PDP will bestow on Nigerians will win the war. I pray that we all live to see the performance of the PDP government in the next 4 years.
Politics › Re: Gov Oshiomhole Sacks More Govt Officials by hercules07: 1:41am On Apr 16, 2011
Oshiomole is trying in Edo state jare, people who do not know the state of Edo under Igbinedion have no rights to say anything, the man has transformed Benin, what did PDP do in over 8 years, Adams is good. I do not know where Amaechi got this reputation as a very good governor from, the guy is as corrupt as they come, most of the work being done in PH is shoddy, though he has tried as per schools sha.
Politics › Re: Mark To Eu: Don’t Interfere In Our Elections by hercules07: 1:33am On Apr 16, 2011
We want international observers in all of the regions, is it not the UK that is fighting our corruption war for us by jailing stealing governors? Why is Rossike afraid of observers if he is not ready to rig, who is David Mark to be giving observers conditions?
Politics › Re: User Names That Will Disappear After Tomorrows Election. by hercules07: 11:25am On Apr 15, 2011

Abeg we did not have blackouts during Buhari's time, it was from IBB's time that we started having those issues.

The people of Bauchi voted for Yuguda in 2007 see what they got from him. We need our parties to develop ideologies, we need to know what they stand for, we also need our laws enforced, if I tell you the brazen manner things are done here in Nigeria you will exhale. Lagosians are saying they will vote fashola, they also need to vote the people that will help him achieve his aims in the state house of assembly, if they should vote in the opposition, you and I know that nothing will get done, his budgets will be passed in June, impeachment threat will hang over him at every point in time, now I am not clamoring for yes men, I am only saying if you are going to vote people, vote people in parties that are recognized as having an ideology, Tinubu as crazy as he is, prepared the ground for Fashola.
Business › Re: Brazilian Investor Offers $100bn For Nigeria's 23 Power Plants by hercules07: 1:50am On Mar 29, 2011
@Papa

We need to build the discipline, we will continue to be violated until we can build that discipline, we need to be able to run our private and public enterprises in an efficient manner, some of our industries were already dead before power became epileptic and this was due to maladministration, so many private firms are being run like fiefdoms.

If the Generating guys are allowed to build a self contained system (generate, transmit and distribute), they will concentrate on the commercial places only, government can not allow that to happen as they will always say there is a need for federal character (poor areas must be covered as well).

You must deal with government o, Federal Character applies to non humans too, the problem Shell dem had was payment guarantees, they wanted to be paid in barrels of oil (our people no gree), the generating guys need to participate in the downstream part of the business, almost the same way Shell behaves in the oil sector.
Business › Re: Brazilian Investor Offers $100bn For Nigeria's 23 Power Plants by hercules07: 5:15pm On Mar 28, 2011
Think of all the options, the worst one is what will be saddled with, God bless our leaders, we need a strong government that is ready to regulate this industry.
Business › Re: Brazilian Investor Offers $100bn For Nigeria's 23 Power Plants by hercules07: 5:12pm On Mar 28, 2011
As per transmission, what makes sense is to have state wide grids with connection to the national one, when you have excess (when demand is low) you should be able to push it to the national grid but because of federal character and all what nots, nobody will allow that. The Generating companies should have a presence at the downstream level or how are they going to be guaranteed their money at the end of the month.

The first time I will meet Obaigbena, he was escaping arrests by jumping into a boat at the back of his office in Apapa, the man na cowboy, he brought everybody to his then new office complex and taxed them all ( around 2000).

If GEJ loses, the good aspect of his power plan will be taken onboard, the rubbish one will be jettisoned, government is a continum (sp?), Buhari must honor agreements made in good faith.

We will pay through our nose for the privatized power, the problem is that the people will be exploited because of a weak government and you cannot compare power to telecoms because at the distribution level it is going to be monopolistic.

Do you think your guys in PDP will allow the fund to be spent on infrastructure, even if the Brazillian guys spend this amount on power will the government be strong enough to regulate them properly?
Politics › Re: The Difference Between Bola Tinubu And Tunde Fashola by hercules07: 3:41pm On Mar 28, 2011
Seconded, the foundation laid by Tinubu has allowed Fashola to achieve, we need continuity when the new leader has an idea not the clueless people in PDP.

Business › Re: Brazilian Investor Offers $100bn For Nigeria's 23 Power Plants by hercules07: 1:41pm On Mar 28, 2011
The distribution end is going to be monopolistic, even if the Government pretends otherwise, do you think each one of the companies will wire cities? I am also sure that capacity sharing will not be done as they will be sabotaging one another, until we have a government that can regulate properly, all of this is a pipe dream ( we go pay tire).

I mixed things up, I know you have accused him of 2.8 billion dollars and that has been refuted, as per the 53 suitcases, what do you think they contained apart from clothes (i.e. if they ever existed).

Where did Buhari get the $28 billion from, people take dollars out of Nigeria and not dollars into Nigeria, you can support GEJ all you want but do not twist facts, my prayers for you is that if GEJ wins, he will run your life the same way he ran Bayelsa.
Politics › Re: Nigeria Sets Sights On Natural Gas by hercules07: 5:45pm On Mar 25, 2011
As per Buhari's economic plan, please read Sanusi's writeup on Buhari's economic policy when he was the President, are you telling me that it is GEJ formulating all these things, we know the guy is just nodding his head to every suggestion made to him.

@bear

I do not think you have read Sanusi's articles, the guy has got it. We all know that appointment of ministers has nothing to do with competence, they just get lucky once in a while when they appoint a competent hand, Jonathan obviously has packed his cabinet full of wasters and we expect more the same if he wins the general elections.
Politics › Re: Breaking News - The Nigerian Railway Is Back For Good. by hercules07: 8:46pm On Mar 23, 2011
Enugu,

I applaud them grudgingly (Yar Adua and Jonathan) for this though they could have spent the same amount  on newer locomotives (corruption), if we give Jonathan the plaudits for this, then he must take the knock for the twelve years he has been in government without achievements.
