Corps members should be made to serve in the Military, Navy, Air Force and Army, they can then be posted by those forces to work in the civilian settings as military men, they should be made to live in the barracks (officers level sha o) and should undergo some military training, the people who kill corpers will think twice before killing them as they know that retaliation will surely follow. |
What do people see in GEJ sef, as for me o, I see same of the same, nothing improving in the next four years, if he proves me wrong, I will congratulate him on his achievements but will never vote him, except, he comes to ACN or CPC. |
@koolking Where the heck are you getting that piece of information from, I transfer far in excess of that amount, infact, I am transferring close to 20K on tuesday, abeg, change your bank, if you use GTBank, their transfers are like a day or two, even other banks will transfer max 3 days. |
@papa A baker who makes 150K a day is not a small business owner, and a lot of the bread sellers are not illiterates, I should know as I sold bread as a kid (sold all sorts, man must survive), if they can use phones and they can use ATMs, then they can use the POS terminals, these things are intuitive, what we should be talking about is how to make this thing work, not putting obstacles in the way, I believe it is the right way to go. Internet access solutions are improving, those POS terminals do not need broadband access, a 19.2kbps link will be more than enough for them, CDMA companies that do not have clients for their 1x solution will make a killing here, they already have the infrastructure in place, they just need to lobby the POS providers, as per power, these terminals consume low power and there are batteries, heck the macbook pro goes for 7 hours on batteries, there will be POS terminals that can do better, the cost of buying POS terminals will be offset by the cost of handling cash, this is a good idea and must be made to work. |
@Papa You are thinking in one direction, the baker can get a POS terminal, most of those people selling bread have savings account with UBA, they can pay via their cards, he can also break his deposits down into smaller bits, I am into IT and I can see this thing working, POS terminals will most likely be fixed which means network access is going to be easier, the specification can just be that they must be able to connect to more than one network at a time, we need to move with the times. I know you do not like Sanusi, but, I can tell you that this is one of his better ideas, it might take time getting used to it, but, it is absolutely necessary. I run a business that deals with smaller businesses and I do not give out cash in my dealings, I only deal with you if you have an account, I insist on my clients transferring money to my account, not even issuing cheques, I issue cheques to people, I do foreign transfer all the time and I try as much as possible to make it cashless, do you think if I have 30,000 dollars to change and I insist that the aboki must get a POS he will not get it, he knows that I change up to 500K in a year and he is not ready to lose that business, Abokis are smart, they will make sure that they comply, it even helps them, they do not need to carry dagger on their person every time they are carrying cash up and down. |
Ol boy, me I see a lot of money to be made with this new directive, I am already aligning my IT skills along this line, got to get in touch with some peeps in Canada for solutions that we can implement to make this a reality, while all of you are making noise there, me I am seeing opportunities for business men and IT professionals, the technology to take care of this is readily available, when I ate at the MMIA, I used my debit card, I had options of debit card, credit card or cash, I chose the debit card, if that system can work in a place, it can work everywhere, the aboki selling dollars will align himself accordingly, their purpose is to make money, I see this directive as a natural next step, we can travel with our ATM cards, so we do not carry cash, now we can make payment with the ATM cards, as per the punitive measures, Nigerians will not be serious about it until they are charged heavy penalties and you know our banks too need money ( no more round tripping for them), to put it in perspective, if you make an illegal u-turn in dubai, you pay #70,000 equivalent. |
Kai, see what they are doing to Imo state o, I have a little bit of vested interest there as that was where I met my wife, hope the will of the people will prevail, the problem as we all know it is that GEJ has to deliver for all those who gave him fantastic figures, if you check out the SS/SE, the only governor having any issues is Ohakim and that is why they are trying to change the will of the people. |
Kodewrita I can see that you had people who were affected by the purge in the civil service at that time, actually Ilesha is not a small place, it is even bigger than Oshogbo, just to correct that impression, meanwhile, you mentioned elections of 2003 and Bola Ige in the same breath(that was why I brought up Ige's death), I am aware of the fact that Akande had issues with Omisore because Omisore thought he should be the one calling the shots, I also know that he purged the civil service, now, I hope you are aware that Osun state was 33rd on the revenue allocation list and had one of the largest civil service, I hope you know that people of Osun state origin formed most of the civil service in the old Oyo state, Osun state also had one of lowest internally generated revenue being a civil service state and this was pre oil boom, he had to do what he did or else the state will go bankrupt, despite that, he still paid people millions and was able to build roads, take care of the health of the people, the man had to do a balancing act and he did it to the best of his ability, what that man did with pittance is far and above what Oyinlola has done in the last eight years. The civil servants were bitterly against him because he had to bring down the costs of running government, I wished we had someone like him at the Federal level, our civil service is a total disgrace. The same civil servants that were pro PDP then regretted their actions, for some of the teachers that were let go, Akande employed young ones to take over their duties, scrapping a course because it is of no benefit to the state is in order, if he feels that for the development of the state, fine arts and the humanities are not important, then so be it, he pays the piper, he dictates the tune. |
I try as much as possible to limit my transactions to the cashless one, I pay for children school fees via cheques, I do transfers from accounts to accounts, paying for anything above 150K should be by other means, the guys that will be most affected will always find solutions to their problems, this directive will force the service providers to upgrade their network for better service knowing fully well that there is a killing to be made here, I believe it is a good idea. |
@Seanet Do not mind the guy, all the guys that were released were paid their entitlements, some of them went to court and Akande told them that when they come back, their entitlements will be waiting for them. @Mbulela Niyi Adebayo did not do anything in his state, Lam Adesina too was sleeping, they had the Afenifere weight on them and they were too relaxed, I hope they have all learnt their lessons now and are ready to develop the region. |
Kodewrita, do you know Egbe Idi in Ilesha, do you know what went on there, the civil servants were against Akande because he tried to sanitise the place, they do not account for everybody in the state, hope you know that Akande was one of those that kicked against adopting Obasanjo, how could Bola Ige have come to appease you guys in 2003 when he was already dead in 2001? Where did you get the gist that Akande is Bola Ige's cousin, bros abeg get your facts right oooooooo. |
Kodewrita please do not take the word of civil servants as the voice of the people of Osun State, there was no way PDP won osun in a free and fair election, the people voted Akande but Oyinlola and Obasanjo using military might usurped the powers of the people, Lam Adesina was fairly voted out. |
Happiness oooooooooooooo, you need to see shouting behind the wheel, thank God for today, we have been liberated from Akala. |
My heart is beating like mad, abeg no ojoro for Ibadan South West oooooooooooooooo |
Ezeuche, are we meant to thank a thief for not stealing? What kind of warped thinking is this, Jonathan knew that he could not allow PDP rig the elections else he will be presiding over a war torn country, do you think the SW would have taken it easy? Osun state people would rather vote APGA than PDP that is how much they hate that party. |
@Eko Ile I must admit I voted CPC in the presidential elections and unlike most people I always say I vote the party not the individual, that is what is in the constitution, I get mad when people say they are voting for the person and not the party, you are voting for the party my people, you can not separate the man from his party, it is the party that has gives the man the platform to contest, anybody in Lagos that voted for Jonathan voted for PDP and is an enemy of Lagos state, short and simple. PDP leaves a bitter taste in the mouth, they have destroyed my beloved Oyo state and I can not fathom people voting for PDP in the presidential elections, people are complaining about those killed in the North, they need to know the number of people killed by PDP thugs in Osun state, why do people think they still voted ACN in the presidential elections, their eyes are wide open to the atrocities of the PDP. |
Kai rigging don start for oyo state. |
Dayo, I dey fear this Oyo election o, are we in for another four years of Akala in my state? |
Chris Buhari has come out to condemn the killings, he has said that it is against the Islamic Religion to kill anybody, he has said it about two or three times, let Jonathan protect the lives of Nigerians by deploying his agencies to crack down on these people before they attack. |
Read around that time that Abdul Mutallab recommended him having worked with him in UBA or First Bank, will research further. |
davidom May that prayer happen to all of your family members, if your brains can not compute why not get rid of it, a question was asked, I have replied with what happened when people feel cheated, please butt out of this thread if you do not have any meaningful thing to say, anuofia. |
@Jamalah What a beautiful nonsense that you have written there, concerned people in the banking industry were wary of what the Ibrus were doing, security reports got to Yar Adua about all the corruption that was going on, Yar Adua contacted Abdul Mutallab, asked for a fearless banker to take over at the CBN, Abdul Mutallab having worked with Lamido Sanusi recommended him to Yar adua who appointed Lamido. I do not know where you got the rubbish you wrote above, do you have a problem with an "Aboki" doing well? Sanusi wrote on the Economy, Politics and Religion, upon all the articles by Soludo, how did he end his tenure at the CBN? |
@Obiagu The death was not a few death, ask the hausas in Idi Araba what happened on that day, all the flashpoints in Lagos boiled on that day with people being killed, maybe you lived in Ikoyi, Mile 12 was a no go area. |
@egift I am even talking about when Abiola died, I believe that was the day Brazil played Holland in the world cup, when the election was annulled, that one was something else, lost a neighbor on Ikorodu road. |
Obiagu, Maybe you missed the part where I said the driver was left bleeding profusely, to expatiate, we had tried to pass through Oshodi three times before then, going through Idi Araba was not an option as that place was a war zone. I could not get home that day, I had to sleep in Ilupeju, the next day, I trekked from Ilupeju to Mile 12, you needed to see the destruction and the number of people dead. |
@Obiagu Yorubas took to the streets, I was coming from Apapa passing through Oshodi, our bus was stoned from Charity Bus stop to Oshodi, it was the culvert that stopped the bus with the driver bleeding profusely, immediately we came down we were attacked, everything we had was taken from us, the Hausas in Idi Araba were also attacked, Lagos boiled on that day and I am Yoruba. |
@Obiagu Were you around when Abiola died? Lagos boiled that night, many lives were lost, if Jonathan had lost, people would have died, the militants would have bombed everywhere. |
Kasiem I hope you know that the JTF is still in Aba and Buhari was a General, the Nigeria Army still provides security to him, please do not waste your life when he comes to Aba because those boys no go look ur face o. |
Zno The value of the naira is dependent on both monetary and fiscal policies, Sanusi has done his part, Jonathan has emptied the treasury or are you not aware of Jonathan bribing delegates $7,000 each, how can the value of the naira be restored when your President is a spendthrift. The banks can not stop sacking workers now because they were not well run, how can a bank have three branches on the same street. He is not the EFCC, incase you do not know, EFCC stands for Economic and Financial Crime Commission See First Line Please ask NSE or you can go there to find out, banks that had the values inflated artificially will normally have a fall in share price, invest more money in the stock market and the values will rise. Ask Jonathan, abi, is he not the one giving people soft landing? Joseph Sanusi brought Islamic Banking, your brother Soludo issued the first license, when Islamic banks come in, I will bank with them and I am no muslim. If you want to know about his achievements, please ask Jarus, you will get enough. |
@Papa Please separate your vain and bigoted self from the pain being felt by the families of those who died, the violence is condemned in its entirety and no right thinking person will welcome the death of fellow human beings, even if we are not of the same tribe. Your lawsuit has a higher chance of success if you target those responsible for security, Buhari did not call for violence, he condemned it and has appealed for people to channel their energies through the proper channel, your Jonathan was caught napping, he rigged and did not put in place the machinery to contain the effects of his rigging, abeg direct your energies at the right people and stop chasing shadows. |
@Papa If you feel like wasting your money please go ahead, I am sure some lawyers need the money, the people you should be suing is the FG as they were meant to provide security, they were complacent in their duties and you stand a better chance than by suing people who were not responsible for the dastardly acts. |
Abagworo, Jonathan will have to deregulate the downstream sector of the oil sector, then the shit will really hit the fan for poor nigerians, we will now know that we should have voted in people who will maintain our refineries. |
