We all love Nigeria with a passion that is why we want GEJ out ASAP, nations do not grow by potentials, they grow because the people and leaders, especially the leaders work hard at making the nation grow, we have a set of leaders who are selfish and only think of themselves alone, the followership has taken its cue from the leadership, we need to get rid of these leaders and to get new ones in, the greatest thing that can happen to our democracy is the ability to vote out rogues. |
Ibime thank you jare, we know that it is just empty promises, he is just saying it to make people happy, abeg people should be recording the promises of these politicians, in four years we will ask them how far. We need to restructure this country abeg, how can the FG be getting 56% of everything gan, how many are they there, flew over the Niger Delta last two weeks, the Governors there should be flogged, you could not see a single thing on ground. |
Papa Buhari has got the NW and NE, part of NC is also for him, as per people welcoming bode George, they were not up to the number of people at Fashola's campaign at Alimosho. South Westerners are going for ACN, forget Jonathan, Osun, Ekiti, Lagos and Ondo will not vote Jonathan, rather they will vote Ribadu or Buhari, Ogun state will be Ribadu and Jonathan, Oyo if free and fair will be shared. SS and SE will definitely be PDP. |
Where will he get the $20billion, na sand? |
Why dont you guys go to the North to conduct the same poll, we know that ACN has got the South West, PDP the South South and SE, try asking your neighbor in the North who he will vote for, I am sure in 1999 if you had asked your neighbor in the SW who he will vote for the answer would have been Falae, PDP can not win this election via fair means. |
efisher where was GEJ, we know what we are going to get with Buhari, he will put the guys that will do the job in place and make sure that those things are done, his Finance Minister during his time was still one of the best, what will GEJ do? |
@chamber I do not know when you sat for your Jamb, but when I did mine in 1992, I got my result mailed to me at home and I got it, Jamb results were as regular as anything. |
@chamber I also have labs to do in a couple of minutes so I can not continue the debate (notice I did not call you ignorant), the educational system is okay, the problem is implementation, the guy making 2:1 in school might have been better served if he went for vocational training as spelt out in the 6 3 3 4, becomes an entrepreneur (sp) and then gone for his first degree, all of this is spelt out in our system. |
@chamber So what is wrong with 6 3 3 4 ? My school moved because water took over our school and we had to be squatting all over the place, despite these challenges, I made straight As in my SSCE, we had good teachers and I was a very serious student. |
efisher, I am waiting for jmaine and chamber, I have been following the thread, I just need us to break everything down to its components. Do you know that IT has got all of its courses online and any serious tertiary student can use the resources there? |
jmaine and chamber I dey wait for una oooooooooooooo. |
@Chamber 6 3 3 4 is a system true or false? |
There is no problem with the system, it is the people that have issues, my school moved from its location more than 6 times, yet, we still had a good secondary school education because our teachers were dedicated. |
I was one of the first set of the 6 3 3 4 system and the evaluation was hell, we had to do mock exams organised by the state government while in JSS 3 just before our Junior Waec, that was meant to be used to determine where we will be placed in Senior Secondary School. The mock exam had so many questions and you have to be very very fast, the Junior Waec was very standard, the problem is not the educational system, the problem is the implementation. |
I am aware that a Microwave network is being built for the NRC (I consider the plan a waste of money), they need to make sure that peeps who work in Lagos can come from Ibadan and Abeokuta, that should be the first consideration, if they can do that, they will make so much money that they will be able to expand the network, the consumers are there, they just need to be smart. |
If my relation was at a point of death, is it the striking nurses or doctors that will attend to him or her, we can not be held hostage by these people, if the conditions of service is terrible, they should resign and go for private employment, abi na by force? |
The train project was a Yar'Adua initiative, the guys running the NRC should get their acts together, they should have express trains and those that stop at stations, I am sure that a train that goes straight to Ibadan should be able to make it in under 2 hours, there is really a lot to be done on the rail system in Nigeria, they should allow the state governments to have intra state while the federal can concentrate on inter state. |
On behalf of Fashola, they should bleep off. |
Texas, They should be paid their clinical allowances ( show us proof sha o), critical sectors are not necessarily the highest paid sectors, abi firemen earn more than finance guys ni? |
I remember Eko Ile and myself stating that the Nurses will be next, now it has happened, let Fashola use all of the 2011 budget to pay those in health care, afterall, when our health is taken care of, the state will progress, teacher do not need salaries, other civil servants can go to hell, why cant these people resign if their salaries are not enough, there is a need to overhaul the union laws, if you are involved in critical sector, you can only do partial strikes. |
@blink That is the truth o, communication lines are important for a country to develop ( I no mean GSM o) |
An airport in each state has its merits, it might not be the most pressing need but it can be made viable, uyo is about 1 hour from Calabar and the airport is functioning properly despite the fact that there is little or no activity in that state, if we had a good governor in Oyo state, the airport in the state will be very viable. The ekiti man will prefer to fly his cocoa out of an Ekiti Airport, infact, if logistics is well done, courier companies can pick up exports from say Ekiti, deliver it to lagos and from there the item is sent overseas. People consume Ghana pineapple harvested the same day in Europe, people can consume same day water melon in Lagos with the functioning airport in Gombe state. We need Government to put in infrastructure, business men will use the infrastructure to generate money. |
I noticed that the interview was carried by Compass Newspaper owned by OGD? Something is not right somewhere. |
Religious people are funny sha, talking about people who live a far better life than you even in their unbelief, Nigeria with all its religious people still has a far higher mortality rate than these people, their country is sitting on a fault, so, earthquakes are bound to happen, if Nigeria were sitting there, the same thing will happen to us, infact far worse will. @Buzugee So God will tell the tsunami not to happen after an earthquake registering 8.9 on the richter scale? Bros, abeg use your brain small. |
Once the people of Bauchi declare for Buhari, then he is good to go, GEJ supporters should ask Muazu how they voted his preferred candidate out. |
@Papa Pro Private Sector policy? Please read up on Oby Ezekwesili's writeup (somewhere on Nairaland) and you will see that a good private sector is not good enough, you need to fix the public sector first. The power road map is getting derailes or how do you explain him signing contracts on power station construction when that was meant to be done by the Private Sector. We need someone who is ready to clean up the public sector first and then we can have a good private sector. |
So what do you guys say to people who are of different religion and have been happily married for decades, this part of the scripture is just going to cause confusion, one should use one's common sense when it concerns religion. |
Fantastic piece, I really really admire the woman, she stayed a few months in the Solid Minerals ministry and transformed the place, I wish she will still play a role in our public life. |
@tpiah The problem is not in their ages, it is in the age of their ideas. |
Akpabio is just chopping in Akwa Ibom, most of the projects he commissioned were started by his predecessor, a lot of the projects were even done poorly and are of no significance to the local populace, imagine buildig roads where there is no economic activity. He is also running a government of cultists, he has empowered all those cultists and woe betide you if you try contesting against him. |
@Kobo Dont get it twisted, the party appoints the commissioners, that is usually one of the first things agreed upon before the nomination ticket is awarded to anybody, we should credit Tinubu with the fact that he has not saddled Lagos with brain dead people at the helm of affairs, what we need in Lagos is a more credible opposition to ACN, this will force the party to wake up. Tinubu funded NADECO, fought for this democracy, he might not be a saint, but his contributions should be applauded. The ACN believes in choosing its candidates via a consesus or elders forum way, the opposition can come up with better candidates to test their popularity with us the voters, we can decide to reject Tinubu's appointees at the elections, but, going by his selections so far, the man has got it right. I do not care about who my leader is as long as I can see him bettering my lot and that of the common man. Jonathan did not get to appoint his ministers, who is he to do that, the list was handed to him, even OBJ sef bowed to the party in 1999, it was in 2003 that OBJ became the party that he was able to appoint his peeps. |
OBJ is a trickster and a liar, he knew what was happening, he is just trying to extricate himself. I am surprised people are still fooled by this old man, we have farmed past that river jare. |
