Politics › Re: Sanusi Rejects IMF Advice To Devalue Naira by hercules07: 12:31pm On Feb 22, 2011
@Mac

So Sanusi caused unemployment abi, did he also cause Global warming? When the former CEOS of the banks were running their banks like Kalo Kalo machine you people did not talk, Sanusi sanitises the place, you are calling him names, whether you like it or not, your benefactors are going to chop beans and should be careful about dropping soap.
On the IMF issue, the problems we have are fiscal in nature not monetary, if GEJ can just be a bit clueless and put Nigeria before his selfish ambition, we can nip a lot of the problems in the bud, we need to drastically reduce how much we pay to our elected officials, concentrate on getting power supply, invest in agriculture and look at other avenues of foreign exchange, I will rather we make more money from activities that involve using our mental and physical powers instead of just drilling for oil.

Nobody makes any computer in Nigeria, the DDC machines were imported and Zinox is a glorified computer village, their branded systems are assembled in China.
Foreign Affairs › Re: The West Finally Agrees That Mugabe Was Right by hercules07: 7:34am On Jan 26, 2011
Beaf, if not for your support of GEJ you would have been my man, we definitely agree on Mugabe, the West (English and the US) are bloody hypocrites, the SA people should say thank you to him for holding out on the land reform until much later after apartheid.

Choosing o, imposing o, na synonyms, one is passive the other is active, if my pikin write am for waec, hin go pass. We need the other parties to get it right, let them look at what ACN is doing right, copy that, look at what they are doing wrong, change that, then they should come to us for votes, if they can convince us, we will vote for them, but for now, me, my family and friends, ACN for life, Buhari for President.

Politics › Re: African Militaries Led By Nigeria Ready To Act In Ivory Coast Standoff by hercules07: 4:35pm On Jan 22, 2011
Dede I support you on this, the intervention in Ivory Coast is going to cost a lot of bloodshed, the Constitutional courts decalred Gbagbo president, so, he is the president, if Outarra does not like it let him get the constitution changed.
Ghana will not be enthusiastic about a war because of the refugee problem, they do not want to be submerged by people fleeing the war, it is a sensible position to take.
I will suggest that the country should be split into two, meanwhile, how come the western nations are not saying anything about Museveni.
Business › Re: Corruption Not Nigeria’s Bane, Says World Bank by hercules07: 4:21pm On Jan 22, 2011
Katsumoto

On Mugabe please read the Lancaster House agreement, SA have got Mugabe to thank for not having the Zimbabwe situation on their hand. IMF and World Bank are saying corruption is not our problem in order to reduce the support for Buhari (who they see is gaining ground) and to bolster support for GEJ, they know Buhari will not stand for all of the rubbish they are doing in Nigeria, to those who say Idiagbon was the one acting in 1983 - 1985, go and find out why Danjuma did not make Buhari Obasanjo's deputy in 1976 and also read about his exploits in the north (how he dealt with Chad).
Politics › Re: Nigerians Say No To Acn Over Imposition Of Candidates by hercules07: 9:45am On Jan 22, 2011
DayoKanu thank very much, what most people do not understand is that a lot of PDP guys defected to ACN because of the popularity of the party in the South West, of course, the original ACN members will want to checkmate them from hijacking their party(ask PDP Kwara), I do not mind the party elders choosing candidates as long as they will deliver what is in the manifesto of the party, Fashola was a product of imposition. PDP not only impsoses candidates, they also loot our treasury to boot, let other smaller parties with good manifestos and internal democracy spring up, they can start nibbling at the ACN, but, for now, ACN for life, Buhari for President.
Politics › Re: Nigeria Oil Fund Fears Hit Bond Issue by hercules07: 2:24pm On Jan 21, 2011
@Wesley

We did read that part and it says the Government used the money to fund budget deficit, how can we have a deficit when our major foreign exchange earner was benchmarked at a lower value than we got? I wan become president, oya take 10 billion naira, nollywood needs money, oya take 30 billion naira, I wan register people, oya take 87 billion naira, I wan do independence, oya spend 10 billion, what of jets, make we buy 3 as we are the richest country iin Africa now, that is how budget deficits occur. We are running budget deficits and lawmakers are earning armed robbers salary, we are spending money we do not have ( same as our banks did during soludo's time).
As per what accrues to the Governmet from our oil production, someone somewhere on nairaland explained it very well, in short, the Oil companies are surviving on very small margins while the Government is taking the Lion, Tiger and Elephant share.

Politics › Re: Fashola Please Fix Allen Avenue by hercules07: 9:17am On Jan 20, 2011
Good one guys, the problem is Nigerian road contractors dont do drainages, and they dont do covered ones at that, I get annoyed when road work is being done without drainages, it is better that all drainages are fixed first before you start building roads.
Politics › Re: What we did not know about Buhari by hercules07: 9:01am On Jan 20, 2011
There is nothing wrong in Ribadu getting the nod ahead of Buhari in principle, the only problem is that Ribadu is a politcal lightweight in the North, the Northerners hate Obasanjo as much as they hate their governors, they know Ribadu worked for Obasanjo and might see it as another ploy by Obasanjo to impose a candidate through the backdoor.
If the ACN is serious about kicking the PDP out, they will need to form an alliance with Buhari that will see Buhari as the flag bearer and a South Westerner of repute as his VP, that will tie up the Northern votes and SW as well.
As per the Wale guy's letter, PTF gave out the contract for the Ibadan - Ilesha dualization, that road is about 120Km was handled by RCC and messed up by them (RCC owned by Ooni a friend of Abacha).
Ribadu I believe is a lawyer and can be made the Attorney General of the federation (someoone else can be Justice Minister as I believe the two should be separate)

Texaz

Zinox asks the peeps in China to brand the systems, do you think they couple anything in naija? You speak as if JEGA is the only one in INEC, they have an IT department that is meant to get out all the technical details, the only thing you can accuse Zinox of is in colluding with INEC, Legislators and the Presidency to steal our money. Zinox sells more HP systems than its brand, do you think Shell will buy machines branded as Zinox? HP has the capacity to produce hundreds of thousands of laptops when you place orders and if they can not meet your time frame you take it to Dell, they will move heaven and earth to meet your deadline, is it not cash and carry business?
JEGA should take absolute blame because it is his project, Zinox should take part of the blame for providing sub-standard products while our Legislators and Presidency are of course thieves anyway so that one na by default.
Texaz, do you think Zinox just decided to supply sub-standard products, maybe you are not aware that all the stakeholders take their egunje upfront and if you like scream from now to heaven comes, nobody will prosecute Zinox as the prosecutors and judge are both culpable.
NYSC › Re: DDCs Run On Linux - Dont Put The Blame On Corpers by hercules07: 4:34pm On Jan 19, 2011
@oyb

The reason I quoted 500 is so they can have trainings in all 36 states and abuja. Believe me, Zinox is the largest distributor of HP products in Nigeria, they could have sold them high end equipment if the settlement issue was not there, you can buy an HP product from them, worst case they import it for you at a price lower than what you see on the internet. Jega might have got 87billion naira, I doubt 25 percent of that was used to purchase the items.

NYSC › Re: DDCs Run On Linux - Dont Put The Blame On Corpers by hercules07: 4:11pm On Jan 19, 2011
The problem is not giving it to Zinox, Zinox sells super duper HP laptops (bought 3k laptops for clients from them), the issue has to do with INEC not having a good project management team, settlement of stakeholders (serious egunje changed hands) and poor logistics. They could have asked Zinox to bring say about 500 unit of those devices in for a test run say 1 month before the commencment of registration, they could have done corper training about two months ago, all the teething issues would have been resolved long before the registration exercise proper. They chose linux as an operating system because it is free and did not plan properly, their only thought was on getting the DDC machines in, they did not think about the human angle.

Kobo,

There are $450 laptops that are sufficient for this purpose jare, they know the right things to buy but settlement too much for the contract jare, the company that supplied the equipment had to settle jare.
Politics › Re: INEC Voter Registration: Eyewitness Accounts by hercules07: 11:24am On Jan 19, 2011
@Ikay and others

Why will they be customizing the operating system when the main component is the software that stores the data, what they need to do is just encrypt the bloody data, as I said, the total cost of the items will not be more than $850, the other charges will be less than 10% as they imported in bulk.
They could use cheap laptops ($400), but the scanners and cameras should be top notch as they are key components.
Politics › Re: The House Tinubu Built by hercules07: 11:10am On Jan 19, 2011
Bros, forget all these yarns, Tinubu is the lesser of two devils, when we have kicked PDP out, we will deal with him as well, it is of the utmost importance that we kick out PDP. In another 4 years, a child born in 1999 will be sixteen, about to enter university without a change in our circumstances, we need to try other parties.

There is no problems with being positively minded, but, when institutions are delivering less than 90% service, we should be on their neck, NAFDAC should be delivering 100% in my opinion. We need to apply the Carrot and the Stick to the two ends of the donkey.
Politics › Re: The President Has A Ph.D, But I think he has Low IQ by hercules07: 5:34pm On Jan 18, 2011
The greatest equlizers in life are education and the internet, we need to make sure that we deliver qualitative education to all and use the internet in the right manner (not yahoo yahoo), India has chaotic political system, but, they have got their education system right.
Politics › Re: INEC Voter Registration: Eyewitness Accounts by hercules07: 5:32pm On Jan 18, 2011
@Jonuel

As per personnel, it is still INEC's fault, they were meant to train these personnel, what have they been doing while waiting for the equipment, abi, they did not know that the items needed were laptop, fingerprint scanner and printer (Otigba has better quality than they are using sef)? We need to heap pressure on institutions so that they are on their toes (we also need to encourage people to register inspite of the challenges).
Politics › Re: INEC Voter Registration: Eyewitness Accounts by hercules07: 5:30pm On Jan 18, 2011
@Jonuel

I work in the IT industry, I compete with the big boys for contract (lose a lot due to poltics), if I handle a client's contract the way INEC has handled this registration exercise, I will never get a job again in the industry based on merit, we need to learn to do things right the first time, we are simply wasting money, how can we spend $500 million dollars and not get it right, they could have given logistics to say DHL, do you know that UPS handles repairs of laptops for some of these manufacturers at their world port hub, we need to spend money to get the right result, I am sure that if INEC had planned well, we will be spending under 50% of the money released for better equipment and service.
Politics › Re: The President Has A Ph.D, But I think he has Low IQ by hercules07: 5:23pm On Jan 18, 2011
We need to decree that allocation to education at both state and federal levels should be at least 25 percent, we do not need more universities, we need to bring the existing ones up to standard first.
Politics › Re: INEC Voter Registration: Eyewitness Accounts by hercules07: 5:19pm On Jan 18, 2011
@Jonuel

Whether they plug it before or after, the software should recognise a device has been connected, they just bought cheap items, when they were saying DDC machines, I thought they were going to use equipment with military specifications, did not know that na 400 dollar laptops with cheap accessories they were going to buy, useless people.
Politics › Re: INEC Voter Registration: Eyewitness Accounts by hercules07: 5:17pm On Jan 18, 2011
@Ikay

Customization ko, customization ni, abeg, if the software is linux then the total cost should be cheaper as linux is freeware, the total cost of everything is not more than $850, no be to capture finger prints and data and put am inside software, simple RDBMS like MySQL with some tables and forms will satisfy the need, computer science part 2 assignment for university.
Politics › Re: Buharism: Economic Theory And Political Economy - By Sls by hercules07: 5:54pm On Jan 17, 2011

SLS is blunt and says things the way they are, if you can read the article properly, you will see where he said Buhari will be rememberd for good deeds. A lot of countries that are powerful today were brought forth from repressive regimes, the only difference between them and Naija is that their leaders had the love of their country at heart.
