Politics › Re: Buharism: Economic Theory And Political Economy - By Sls by hercules07: 2:19pm On Sep 17, 2010
SLS actually says he does not want Buhari to lead Nigeria as the president, he only sees him playing the role of a statesman, the problem we have is that the people Buhari will mentor have no chance of ever getting there. I believe Buhari should run and if GEJ is sincere, let him conduct a free and fair election (he can rig out IBB in their primaries grin).

@Knowall,

You started the talk about palace coup now, Abacha eased out IBB, how come Abacha was not retired along with the other Generals. It was a palace coup same as what IBB did to Buhari. You might not like Buhari for some other things, but. please do not come up with this nonsense about palace coups making someone unworthy of being a leader.
Politics › Re: Political Farmers Cause Food Shortage In S/west by hercules07: 9:14am On Sep 17, 2010
If the Northerners withold agricultural produce from all of the south, we will all suffer. The reason it was acute in Lagos was because they singled out Lagos because of the extortion going on. We need to be self sufficient as a nation not as a region, there are some produce that can not be effectively cultivated anywhere else except in the North. The Kolanut that you guys love so much comes from the West, we all depend on ourselves for survival.
Politics › Re: Retired Generals Should Allow Young Generation To Rule - Gowon ! by hercules07: 9:06am On Sep 17, 2010
Our problem is not about Old Generations or Young Generations, our problem is the right people should lead the nation, whether old or young. We can see what our young leaders have done as Governors, Bankole is a young man, yet he is as corrupt as they come

@Knowall

If we are to go by your assertions, then IBB is a simpleton too because Abacha effectively schemed him out in a palace coup. The Nigeria Army of the 80s was filled with coup plotters, the overthrow of the Idiagbon/Buhari regime involved more than the Army, Abiola was involved and I will not put it beyond the CIA to be involved as well. Please ask Jarus to furnish you with the article by Sanusi on Buhari's regime. In an ideal world, we will like to break away from these people, in a realistic world, we have to go for the least of all evils and I think Buhari is that man.

I really do not care if my President comes from the last Century, I just need someone who will lead us out of this rot.

Book your tickets online at Aero and you get much cheaper prices, there was a time Aero were doing Accra at ridiculously low prices, there are hotels around the Osu area that are at $50/night. Enjoy your stay in Accra
Politics › Re: Buhari Is The Solution, Not Jonathan - Rev Moses Iloh by hercules07: 2:37am On Sep 17, 2010
In a free and fair election Buhari will win, the North will rather Buhari than Jonathan, we know the elections will not be free, so, we are left with to choose the very bad (Jonathan) and the worst (Babangida). May God help this nation.

We can not privatise the power sector without a fairly efficient Government, you will notice that the trend in developing countries has been to privatise everything under the sun when we do not have adequate controls in place. The government is about to remove subsidy on petroleum products, they are privatising the power sector, yet, the tool of empowerment (education) is comatose. Kai we go suffer ooooooo

@Ola

I am a Christian not a muslim so I am not making excuses for anybody, my questions were meant to let you know that people of all faiths died in the 911 attack, the pain of that terrible day is not exclusive to Christians.
The guys are building a center that will serve a lot of purpose, they are not building a mosque, approval has been given for the center, if Americans dont want Islam, they should change their constitution and become a reverse Saudi Arabia.
The founding fathers of a place are determined by the people who write the history of a place, history did not start when the pilgrims got there. The level of hatred you exhibit is not healthy, you need to do something about it.

Kobo,

Sure we need to, the legislative arm is very important, the Speaker of the House of Representatives (US) visited Canada recently to do some shakara for them on Oil and so forth.
Foreign Affairs › Re: Gay Saudi Diplomat Seeking Asylum In Us: 'my Life Is In Danger' by hercules07: 3:37pm On Sep 13, 2010
I do not think Islam should be blamed for this, it is illegal for him to be gay in his country as it is in Nigeria, so, if he is gay, he is subject to the laws of his country which forbids it, he has done a wise thing by seeking asylum in a country that recognises gays. Please note I do not have anything against the sexual preference of anybody just stating things the way I see them.

Questions to Ponder

1) Did Muslims die in the twin towers?

2) Did Muslims die on the ground?

3) Were their muslims in flights that were hijacked (apart from the hijackers)

4) Has there been an Islamic Center in the location

5) Where do people get the claim that the US was built on Christianity

6) What do the American Indians have to say about question 5
Politics › Re: 2011: Why Is Nobody Talking About The National Assembly? by hercules07: 3:27pm On Sep 13, 2010
The presidency controls 55% of the budget, 45% is left to the states and all other arms. One of the reasons we are not tallking about the National Assembly is because we believe the President affects our lives more than the assembly men.

Politics › Re: What's The Benefit Of Education To Nigeria by hercules07: 3:23pm On Sep 13, 2010
I am glad you put education in quotes, let us not kid ourselves, what we get in Nigeria is not education, it is literacy classes, this is more relevant in the sciences and engineering.

Beaf, how many Generals did Obasanjo sack during his time? I remember watching NTA then at the Officer's mess at Armored Corp Center Bauchi with the officers sitting and praying that their names do not come out. It was a tense time for those people, I can imagine what they are all going through now.

The only one that I respect out of the IPF is Ken Nnamani the former Senate President, others are just politcal jobbers. Uche Chukumerije seems to be a progressive now sha, but, we remember his antecedents (sic).

Problem is we yorubas do not believe Awolowo betrayed the East. I do not really care who leads me as long as he leads me right, infact, I do not mind the President of the country coming from the East for the next 100 years, what I care for is good leadership.

dappssee:
For fresh accounts opened, the cards are issued free. N1,000 is only charged for replacements due to damage or expiry of the card.

The card maintenance fee is charged on those who have activated their cards and use them.

Its a standard practise because internationally accepted cards have maintenance costs attached to them

@madejibo: Let me have your e-mail address
Who told you that it is internationally accepted practise that cards have maintenance costs, abeg bone that thing o, it is a lie. GTBank even went further in my case by deducting 2K from my account and after writing letters, the excess 1K has not been paid back. They are forcing people to take the ATM Card, this is unethical, they are meant to make taking the card attractive to people, not punishing them for taking the cards.

If Buhari can find a way to work with Jonathan, then Jonathan's government might have some credibility and some backbone. Out of all the aspirants, I prefer Buhari.

May I know what service you are talking about? I believe the military should be a professional institution where peeps can get free qualitative higher education while serving the nation for a few years in combat situations, those who wish to make it a career can do so and should fall within the pension system that is being run, as things improve, they get more remunerations.
The military we have is not professional, rather they are pepper souping and suyaing, apologies to the guy from Edo.
