Boko Haram and Mend are exactly the same thing, they are all taking up arms against the state and in the process innocent people are getting killed. The Boko Harams believe they are fighting for their right to associate and to denounce education, MEND believes it is fighting for the emancipation of its people, as the Nigerian constitution stands they are both criminal organisations. The Government should deal decisively with both MEND and Boko Haram while using the resources of the state to correct the ills in the society.
Politics › Re: How Philip Emeagwali Lied His Way To Fame by hercules07: 9:34am On Oct 20, 2010
Emeagwali can claim everything he likes in Physics, as far as I am concerned he is not the father of the internet, he did nothing to aid the internet. I will ask his supporters to check out all the RFCs released by the OSI and the IEEE if Emeagwali was ever a member of the committees that drafted these RFCs, as I have said Radia Perlman is the mother of the internet, she designed Spanning tree Algorithm, Link State Protocols, Thrill, stuff for Sun Microsystems, Digital Equipment Corp (they gave us Ethernet), I will expect the so called father of the internet to surpass her achievements or to be at par.
Politics › Re: How Philip Emeagwali Lied His Way To Fame by hercules07: 5:59pm On Oct 19, 2010
Radia Perlman is regarded as the mother of the internet, she invented spanning-tree algorithm, link state protocols and has many patents that can be verified, yet Emeagwali calls himself the father of the internet and I have never seen his name in any of the RFCs that have been released.
I am sure a lot of people here do not know who Radia Perlman is, probably because she does not self promote. Anybody interested in networking should please read her book, the woman hot no be small.

Inasmuch as I utterly despise these men, there is nothing in them sharing the seats if they win, it is now left to Nigerians to make sure that they do not win. A serious aspirant should have all his angles covered and he should have an idea of who he wants in certain posts, political horse trading is standard.

@poster,

Your mum was wrong with what she did and you need to let her know in a gentle but firm manner, you are the man of your destiny and she can not dictate to you at your age. Your babe should also have cut out immediately your mum arrived in order to maintain the good girl image, you know marriage in naija is political, so she needs to play the game well. All the people saying it is wrong for your babe to sleep over in your house are just hypocrites, many of them are responding to your post from their boyfriend's house or been camping some babe at home for the past week.
Politics › Re: In Nigeria We (the Followers) Are More Corrupt Than Our Leaders. by hercules07: 10:38am On Oct 14, 2010
@Poster

So ordinary Nigerians are more corrupt than our leaders abi, ordinary Nigerians embezzle 191 Billion abi, ordinary Nigerians are involved in Haliburton Scandal abi, it is the ordinary man that determines who is prosecuted abi?
Please stop talking out of your behind, the power of coercion lies with our leaders, the fact that they are not making proper use of that power is not the fault of the ordinary man.
You might be corrupt, I am not, our leaders hold our common wealth and they are meant to dispense it in the most appropriate way, in any other country, we will be at war because of the extreme poverty that infests our lands.

Northerners actually do like Buhari as he is seen as one of the better guys, you might despise him but he is the best of a bad bunch (apart from maybe Ribadu).

So we should pray for an alleged thief abi, imagine me having five prayer points and God decides that this man that has been praying all this while let me answer one of his prayer points and it turns out to be the one directed at Erastus, do you know when next I will get a prayer answered? (due to my "sins", God being busy, too many people asking for favor, especially Nigerians or the allocation of the decade being used up). Bros abeg, that man stole, please help ask him how he became richer than his bank, he should confess his sins and do restitution.
Business › Re: Former MD Of Oceanic Bank, Cecilia Ibru, Convicted Of Bank Fraud by hercules07: 4:56am On Oct 10, 2010
@Knowall,

There is no Nigerian Billionaire that got his money legally, the closest we have is Dangote and he was a recipient of favorable government policies.
The fake corpers in nassarawa got 3 years imprisonment while Cecilia got 6 months in a plush hospital.
We are the architect of our problems, nobody should defend her, we should be happy she is an convict, I give props to Sanusi for being dogged in his pursuit of Criminal Cecilia Ibru. I am saddened when educated people resort to primordial sentiments when analysing issues.

The loans that First Bank wrote off, were they awarded to their MD?
Business › Re: Former MD Of Oceanic Bank, Cecilia Ibru, Convicted Of Bank Fraud by hercules07: 3:21pm On Oct 09, 2010
@Kafanchan

She stole the money, she is just lucky the EFCC and our Judiciary do not have a strong backbone, the evidence of her theft is the amount she is forfeiting (who will forfeit money that is not stolen, I will rather die). I have always maintained that Sanusi should have allowed both Oceanic and Intercontinental to collapse by closing the EDW and not bailing them out, by now, Cecilia Ibru will be begging to be kept in a maximum security prison because so many people will be baying for her blood.
There is no billionaire in Nigeria in the last 50 years who did not make the money illegally, even Dangote made his money on the back of Government patronage via monopolistic licenses. We all know how small Oceanic was before the consolidation, we saw how they (Oceanic and dem dem) "grew" in less than 10 years into big banks (buying jets), infact, one of the forfeited building is 100 meters from where I am.
We really need the Chinese Solution in this country, our people are too avaricious for jail terms to dissuade them (and I am against death sentence o).
Business › Re: Former MD Of Oceanic Bank, Cecilia Ibru, Convicted Of Bank Fraud by hercules07: 12:29pm On Oct 09, 2010
@Kafanchan

She has not been found guilty of fraud because she made a deal (the plea bargain), the way it works is you approach the prosecution and say, let me forfeit everything that you guys know about (not exactly in those terms of course), reduce your charges to ones that do not carry weight, let the Judge sentence me to a small jail term. The fact that she is willing to to forfeit 150 billion naira shows that she is a big thief, in China, she will be looking at death. The prosecution have done a huge disservice to the nation by agreeing to this plea bargain, money is one thing that leaves a trail and if they could get her to forfeit this much, they could have negotiated a tougher sentence (say 5 years imprisonment with parole after 3 Years for good behaviour). I hope Erastus can take a cue from madam and negotiate a 3 year jail sentence and forfeiture of assets.
We can safely conclude that if madam is ready to forfeit 150 billion naira, she probably has some more billions somewhere else, the truth is that in Nigeria, people who hold the commonwealth in trust are fully dipping their hands in the till. We need to revamp our judicial system to punish people in proportion to the gravity of their crime.
Note: If you steal 10 Million naira and expect to plea bargain, you are on your own o.
Politics › Re: Attacks Were Targeted At Jonathan, Says Asari by hercules07: 5:30pm On Oct 08, 2010
@Dede1

Inasmuch as I do not see Jonathan as a Presidential material, the Northern leaders have no leg to stand on regarding this impeachment stuff. We have had more serious issues under Yar'Adua and Obasanjo and no impeachment was carried out. Jonathan is just a clueless leader and we should concentrate our energies on voting him and his PDP people out of power.

There is nothing wrong with the 6-3-3-4 model, we need to update the curriculum and also train and pay teachers well, upgrade the facilities and provide more materials for the schools.

Politics › Re: Jigawa Governor Blames Basin Authority For Flood Disaster by hercules07: 9:29am On Oct 04, 2010
It is a sad indictment of our leaders and of the President that they do not have that personal touch when it comes to dealing with the governed. Disasters like this claim so many lives and if the Government is found guilty of not doing the proper thing, at least the president can empathise with the people of the state, compensate them, look at the causes and pave a way for preventing a recurrence. Most of the solutions to our problems require common sense and not money.

Politics › Re: Jigawa Governor Blames Basin Authority For Flood Disaster by hercules07: 2:06pm On Oct 03, 2010
@Ayo,

What proof do you have that it is exaggerated, the basin authorities are under the control of the federal government not the states, there is a need for this issue to be given more publicity, disasters such as this claim many lives and leave more sorrows in their path.

Politics › Re: Why Saraki And Sanusi Hijacked Intercontinental Bank by hercules07: 2:42pm On Oct 02, 2010
@Kafanchan

This is a more measured approach, calling people you do not know slowpoke is not exactly good behaviour, quite a few people castigated Sanusi for asking that the MDs be shot, but, Sanusi did not take out advertorials in newspapers sha o. Running away is never an excuse, the people that stayed did not die, if Akingbola had incontrovertible proof that Sanusi and Saraki were illegally taking his bank away, go through the courts, the justice system in Nigeria is somehow but you will get justice at the Supreme Court (na Gani talk am o). Yar'Adua and Jonathan are not different, Jonathan's AGF is also shielding corrupt people (abi wetin u go call IBB that the bloody AGF was defending or OGD).
The only issue I have with Sanusi is that he pumped 400 Billion of public fund into those banks, he should have closed the EDW and allow the banks to sort themselves out, I am sure a lot of people will be singing a different tune now. I hope and pray that the courts come through in these cases.

I wonder how people can come online and start insulting others because of difference of opinion. A valid question was asked on how a bank MD earning 5M per month could be richer than the bank and insults follow. He did his case a lot of harm by running away, his life was not in danger, others arrested were released on court bail, so, why did he run?
The case is already in court, he can file civil cases against Saraki and Sanusi if he feels cheated, for all those against Sanusi, Jonathan just endorsed the banking reforms of the guy.
Those who are multi Billionaire revolutionalised their industries and did things in a different way (not naija ones sha o), what innovations did they bring to the banking industry that made them richer than the bank? Is Bill Gates richer than Microsoft or Larry Ellison richer than Oracle?
If he has proof of wrong doing, file a civil case and stop making noise in papers.

I could not have said that any better, even at that OBJ raised some cool points when he touched on the take-home-pay of our so-called legislators.
He had the opportunity to do something and he did not do it, he has lost the right to comment on national matters, he is not morally upright to castigate others when he has been a contributory factor. How can a whole RCCG invite such a person to an important occasion? Obasanjo out of all the leaders we have had had the best opportunity to do what is right for the nation.
Politics › Re: Obasanjo Blames Nation’s Woes On Regional Politics ! by hercules07: 2:58pm On Sep 30, 2010
Nigeria was running a confederation, those leaders mentioned should be more concerned about their regions than the nation, they were elected by their people to represent the interest of their regions. Obasanjo is an unserious element, Awolowo spent 8 years as a premier, we could see his effect, what has Obasanjo achieved as the President of Nigeria, Obasanjo is not fit to clean the shoes of those men he mentioned.

Trying to use the papers was exactly Sanusi did for more than 1 year, and nobody challanged him. He went on roadshows, convincing people who didn't have the criticial mind to question his motives and means, now you think one of those he wanted shot at sight shouldn't do whatever he can to present his own side of the story huh huh huh
This is exactly why we're not developing as a society, even the ordinary man doesn't appreciate justice, especially when it's been denied another person.
Sanusi was not taking out adverts in the papers to rubbish anybody, did you miss some of the hatchet jobs Vanguard and Guardian newspapers were doing on Sanusi? Why did Akingbola run away when he had all the evidences, why did he not stay like Ibru and the others?
Let the man tell us how he became richer than his bank, did he buy all of his properties with his monthly salary, he should not tell us stories jare, Sanusi should have allowed his bank to fail instead of bailing them out, then all the people supporting Akingbola now will be busy looking for jobs or doing business with the 100K that NDIC would have given them.

Let him approach the courts if he believes he has been wronged, trying to use the papers and appealing to the AGF will not work.
