@ MT. And corrected you shall.
You say the houses here are tiny, are they tinier than the face  me I face you houses in Naija? Are food prices not also going up in naija? The water and gas rates are exhorbitant, yeah I agree, but these things cost money. And i'd rather pay for available resources than do without them. I know of a place in Benin where they collect monthly local govt "tax" on personal household boreholes. Where is the justification?
Talkin about professionals, ah ah, i don't even want to go there. Go to Govt establishments and see civil servants with years of experience and ask them what their take home pay is. It is nothin to write home about. I have an uncle i naija who has been an accountant long before I was born (almost 30 years),now a fellow of ICAN and marks for them. Ask me if he's well off? Hell no! He's still struggling.
Yes there are good paying jobs for pros in naija, but the question is how many? I am not saying that a pro should come and do menial jobs here, no, but again, the end justifies the means. Each person has a choice to make.

TravelRe: Nigerians Abroad: What Advise Will You Give Anyone Relocating Abroad? by Hesperus(m): 2:15pm On Nov 26, 2008
One thing I always say about issues like this is that there is really no clear cut answer.

Situations differ from person to person. I have seen people here in UK doin odd jobs and livin far,far better than they did back home in naija. And said people are professionals too. Do you know how many "professionals" are languishing back home, and would jump at d opportunity to come here for odd jobs? Its all about survival my people. What good is it piling up certificates, and clinging to titles when they wont fetch you money?
Again, it depends on what you're looking for. Some people were ok in naija, but just frustrated with the mess around them (i.e NEPA, water,  roads, etc) and just decided to relocate for comfort.

On the other hand, my advice to anyone is this; weigh your options, prioritize and whatever you decide, live with it.

I have this friend who slept with his brother's wife's younger sister. After giving us gist, we all had a heated argument, with some of my other freinds claiming it was incest. Somehow, I didnt quite agree but now am thinkin about it. Is it really incest? because am quite sure I would do same if opportunity presented itself.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Why Are Left-handed People Few And So Unique? by Hesperus(m): 1:01am On Nov 26, 2008
Are we unique, really? I think its just cos we're fewer as compared to the right-handed.
Tho, me I love the attention, especially when am writing. Pple are always fascinated by the angle of my hand.
RomanceRe: Picking Up Calls During Love Making by Hesperus(m): 11:53pm On Nov 25, 2008
I remember a time when I was in d act at home. My old man called me and I reluctantly picked. Thank God I did, he was calling to confirm if I was home cos he was almost at d door of my flat! I sharply arranged myself.
I guess it depends on the situation, and if u havent gone too far. Enough times I dont pick, especially when am almost coming.

TravelRe: Uk Visa - Visa Appeal Process by Hesperus(m): 4:16pm On Nov 25, 2008
orexjoe:
Prior to my previous post,

I made a non refundable fee to get my admission letter from the school i want to attend in UK. But someone just told me that i need to pay at least half of the tuiton before going to the embassy. IS THIS MANDATORY?

Because I'm confused,

Please advice,

I will be re-applying on monday and worried.
@ orexjoe, it isnt exactly mandatory, it depends on the requirements of the school. Some schools request for at least 50% of the tuition fees upfront before issuing unconditional admission letters. This is because some people actually get student visas never show up in the schools. Also, some people get there and find it hard to pay the fees. Hence, the need for 50%, kind of like a security deposit.
I hope you already have an unconditional letter otherwise,it would be pointless applying without it.

EducationRe: Crazy Things You Did In High School? by Hesperus(m): 2:28pm On Nov 25, 2008
LOL @all.

In high school, we'd prepare die for QC or Vivian Fowler interhousesports, come to to school with our newest/best designer clothes stuffed in our bags, ready to bounce immediately after classes!

Also, once exams ended, we'd come to school normally with mufti under our uniform. After assembly, we just strip d uniforms and its off to game centers (EJW, mad house, payless 2, etc)

Good ol' days! grin

Seduction and money+ material things don't go together. I thought seduction is a prelude to sexual intercourse/making out(whatever you want to call it )?? huh
Duh!!! My point exactly. Before u peck naija babe sef, u'd have spent enough,  maybe even bought a sack of rice for her home. Lol!

chika98:
Real men seduce a lady without having to spend a whole lot.
Omo, nothin like dat in Naija girls' dictionaries. Real men ko. . .
RomanceRe: Nigerian Men Don't Know How To Seduce by Hesperus(m): 12:49am On Nov 18, 2008
But really, lets be factual here. What d average naija babe understands as seduction is money and material things. Its even obvious from the female posts here.
