Lautechgossip:
My first day in the biology laboratory was a dreadful one. During a briefing session a day before we were to have practical during my 100level, We had been told that it is a customary to always put on the ‘laboratory coat’ each and every time we have practicals, hence whosoever without the laboratory coat will be punished.

I’d no money as at that time to buy laboratory coat, and the first practical came just too soon. I couldn’t borrow as my only friend in the school then was Asiwaju Olalekan Godson Ayodeji. Anyway, I knew breaking the rule of not putting a ‘laboratory coat’ was a bad idea but I was young and wrong to take that risk.

I had no choice than to enter into the laboratory room to get engaged with my fellow departmental mates.

Not quite long after I entered the lab, one of the biology lecturer who handled biology practical came around. He spotted few of us without the ‘laboratory coat’ and decided to play a fast track on us, he wanted to get hold of us. I was fortunate to be sitting near the entrance door, so I got away.

He was able to lay hands on few guys unaware but everyone of us that escaped went into his black book. He called our class rep then, and collected our matric numbers. Printed them and pasted them in his office. It was printed boldly.

That was how myself and other guys that ran away failed Both the practical and the actual Biology course that year.

Personally, I sat for the same courses for good 6years; making it 6 different times entirely.

On my third year of rewriting, I summoned courage to visit him in his office. I went to see him to plead with him, he didn’t know me, he only knew of my matric number. So I’d to take the bull by the horn to explain what had happened. He laughed wickedly and angrily sent me away, I returned the next day. He told me, if I return again then it would be very bad and I won’t like it. I left him for a week. I consulted my advisor, Dr. Mrs Adigun. I explained everything to her… She told me, I should give him time, and to return to him after sometime. That he may consider my ‘show of repentance’. So I didn’t return for like a month.

Then one day, I was returning from a friend’s place Osisami Babalola Enitan on Friday after I had gone to play chess, I saw him also returning from the mosque. We both met along the school former fine-art department, just by the way that leads to Alata eatery, Under G.

I quickly used the opportunity of meeting him just coming from the mosque to plead yet again. He treated me like ‘shit’

He still went on to fail me even in my 400level. On my final year, I went to him, then I was married. I took my pregnant wife to plead with him. He walked us out and told us never to come again. He promised to report to the school security. So we left.

He failed me for 5 years consecutively. It was hard for me.

I wept for days.

I told my parents, and few friends.. It prevented me from going for NYSC with my class 13′ set.

Then I turned to God. Yes, I was guilty and I deserved punishment but that was too much. I prayed ‘no be small’. So many different phases of life, most times it is always our fault that we find ourselves in difficult situations but immediately we get to seek God for help, he surely always provide us a solution to all of our problems. I seek God’s face and he never fails.

That biology course was taken away from him and was given to someone else, it was given to another Dr. I can never forget him.

I registered as a spill-over student, and sat for it, I borrowed 4 other courses to boost my CGPA, I collected my result and my biology 101, 102,104 and 106 were all A(s).

That was how I got cleared.

Moving forward, During my service year, after I redeployed from Abia state to Oyo, I was posted to the West Africa examination council. (Waec) Ijokodo, Ibadan. Great place with wonderful people. On my great work ethics, being dutiful and so diligent during my service year, I was given the green card and permitted at all time to work during their examination and marking exercise each and every time I so wish. Oluwafemi Martins my great boss, one of the great people I had worked with.

Coincidentally, I was officially sent to Ogbomoso marking venue as an assistant subject examination officer to partner my Waec daddy

I was handling Biology and chemistry subjects.

For the ones who don’t understand the whole drama during the Waec marking exercise.

We give out the examination scripts to qualified teachers or graduates with the certification in their specified subjects for marking and recording during a stipulated period of 21/23

So that day in April, there was a long queue of Examiners waiting to submit their CV. Then this Dr. lecturer that failed me for 5years was on the queue too, I’d spotted him.

My wonderful Waec daddy was beside me, he asked while I was smiling, I simply told him that something funny will soon happen, and when it was this Dr’s turn, He greeted and called me “sir” (bending his head). I quickly stood up to greet him too. But I was so surprised, he didn’t recognize my face. Apparently, he would never have thought and believe and to be possible for the young man in front of him to be me.

So I pretended as if I had nothing in mind too, I was going through his CV when he started pleading that he really needed my help concerning this marking stuff, he told me he came along with his daughter who is a gate crasher ( these are people who are new to the marking system) and his wife who also had marked for a long time but needed to mark too.

He told me Ladoke Akintola university of technology had been on strike for over a year and nothing seemed fine, no salary. No money and nothing at all. I should help him. At that point I told him to call his wife and daughter. He did. I then asked him; “Sir, Is it truly that you do not recognize my face?”

He said, “ehn! It’s like this face is familiar o but you know there are many people like that I can’t remember. I can’t really remember where and when I had seen your face”. I told him to try, that I will only help him if he can remember where we had met and when..

He didn’t remember so I helped him out with my surname, I told him. “This is Akeju, the guy you failed for consecutive 5 years. The guy that brought his pregnant wife to beg you but still, you sent us away”.

At that point, he was dumbfounded. He left without saying a word. His wife and daughter were confused and everyone on the queue too. His wife asked what the matter was, I told her to go and ask her husband.

Shortly, His wife and daughter returned. He had explained everything, they knelt down and asked for forgiveness. I smiled and asked them to tell him to come back. He had gone home. In the evening he did returned.

He asked for forgiveness, and I did forgave him. More than he had asked for, I granted him all of his requests. We were not permitted to give more than a packet packed of scripts but I gave him more than one. Just for him to make more money. He wept uncontrollably.

Matthew 5:44 “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you”.

I only know of the way of doing good even unto them that do me evil.

Till I left ogbomoso, he was always calling because I had put enough food on his table and not only him, but also for his family during that difficult period they were going through.

It’s left to him, if he will change or not.

Our tomorrow isn’t promised.

yorubaruler:
Sex Costs N100 In Bodija, The Ibadan Foodstuffs Market

Posted by: QMarkMag on May 31, 2013 in MUSIC AND VIDEOS 5 Comments

The Sex Trader

Located conspicuously at the heart of Ibadan, capital city of Oyo State, Bodija market is a sight to behold – crowded and noisy. It is the delight of every wife, cooks and others who need to shop to save some money. Here, foodstuffs come cheapest in the city, and in Nigeria as some argue. Hence foodstuffs buyers happily troop there to bring back bulk food items ranging from rice garri, elubo, fish, meat, tuwo, lafun, vegetable and many others.
In Bodija, while the food buyers have their good bargain, there are other attractions at the market. Services also abide in the domain of immorality.

Bodija market wakes up as early as the cock crows, and never goes to sleep. This is not because trading lasts that long but a different transaction, heinous in nature, replaces buying and selling.
Prostitution, pornographic film shows and petty robbery take over in Bodija when buyers and sellers of food items quit.

Saturday Sun spent days observing what happens between 6pm and midnight and the discovery is simply incredible.

From the Total Filling Station at the other side of the road into the market, following the railway line that runs down into the market, sex workers in different shapes, sizes and colours would call on male passers-by, asking and even begging for patronage. “Come it is sweet, come fine man, I will do you well, na just N100. E no cost, come , make we do am sharp sharp!”. Some of them would chorus, swinging their hips to entice buyers.

Their ramshackle shelters stand facing the rail line. Some are built within the market. In most of the shelters, humble Hausa families also live as neigbhours to the sex workers. Amid the sex workers’ shelters is a mosque made of wood. As the sex worker or her patron ply the trade, they are harangued by the blaring of the public address system announcing prayers from this holy place.

Another walk through the area offers you greater embarrassment. They hoot, call and even drag you: “Come now, na me call you first, you no no me again? Come, I go do you well, come and enjoy yourself.” If you are casually dressed, they call you student, otherwise, they call you oga or fine man.”
To know more on how the sex workers carry out their business, Saturday Sun spoke to a few of them under the pretence of patronage.

Cynthia, who hails from Delta State said for short time meaning a round of sex with her, she would accept as low as N100. “But if you want enjoy yourself well, well, touch br***t, smoosh body, you go make am N500.” We haggled and she brought it down to N300. Spending a night with Cynthia will take nothing less than N800. “That mean say, you go enjoy till day break”, she said patronizingly, blinking her amorous eyes.

The other sex worker refused to give her name. She just revealed that she is from the North. She wanted business not friendship. “Na work I dey do, I no get time for friends now. I beg follow me talk business”, she snapped. The anonymous sex worker also accepted N100 for a quick one but advised that it would not be as interesting and enjoyable as a longer session that costs N500. “Na that one you go enjoy pass, I no say you fit pay am” said the unidentified sex worker. She got a bottle of beer as parting gift with a promise to see her later.

Porn mart
Take a long walk down to the side of the market near the butchers’ place. Here stands a wooden long hall. The interior smells heavily of alcohol, cigarette and marijuana. But for some bitter kola one chewed, the mixture of the strong stench would cause one to throw up. In front of this wooden hall are small pornographic posters mounted on flat wooden boards. The fee to watch a pornographic film that could last an hour is N30. Most of the people who patronize the cinema hall are traders, touts, and motorists in Bodija market and the neigbhourhood. Pornographic films are shown from 8pm till mid-night.
Most of the porn watchers, from Saturday Sun checks, first go there to get excited and whet their appetite for a session with the sex worker near-by.

“One hour for the cinema go wake you up so you go quick go do am with Ashawo,” Ibrahim, a mallam and regular patron of the cinema confessed.

A man who said he is an Ibadan indigene explained that: “Most of us come here to unwind. Some of us who have two wives do come here to discharge when our wives are fighting and the home becomes too hot. Or if your girl friend refused to give you the thing and e de worry you, na here you release yourself.”
Don’t the police attack them sometimes? Musa, another regular, speaking in pidgin English said “ The police dey come but the film man (cinema attendant) know them well, and him know how to settle them.”
Taju, another trader in Bodija, has actually patronized the sex workers on several occasions. He spoke to Saturday Sun about his encounter: “I once had a session with a young girl who said she is from Edo. I like her so much I promised to marry her.

After sometime she was no longer collecting money from me whenever I wanted to do it. The only thing was that she complained that the way I do it is painful. Meanwhile, I usually enjoy it that way because I take some dose of magani burantashi (traditional libido enhancer) which improves my performance. One night, Stella drove me out of her room shouting and cursing me for failing to marry her as promised. That was about three months into our relationship. Since then, I no longer go near her. I have shifted base. We still see each other but even when I try to avoid her she rained curses at me.”

Ibadan residents tired of living with prostitutes

Although they have lived side by side for many years, residents of some neighbourhoods in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital appear to be getting tired of the brothels in their areas.
In fact, a recent pronouncement by the state government that it intends to rid residential areas of brothels has fuelled the silent feud.

A woman who lives at Ekotedo and identified herself Mama Joy captures the mood of the neighbours of these brothels.
“Government’s decision is the mind of God. How do you explain a lady taking to prostitution as a means of livelihood?
“It is just too bad and as well very ungodly. To advise them is not easy since they have become hardened. They didn’t just start the trade today. When you call them to counsel them, they will insult you and ask you if you will shoulder their responsibilities.
“They will tell you the country is hard. They will tell you men are not ready to marry them. They will tell you they have no job. Some of them will even tell you that the job is lucrative. How do you help someone like that?”
She said that their presence in the community had become an eyesore and a bad influence.
She said, “Unfortunately, they see prostitution as a way of life. They enjoy it and they corrupt the minds of other young people who see them and copy their lifestyle. In this environment, you have to monitor your children very closely; especially the girls.
“You know they say that evil company corrupts good manners. These ladies who are into prostitution always sit outside or go about almost naked. The young kids see them and are fascinated.
“They watch the male clients of these prostitutes come in and go out every time. They see people smoking and drinking to stupor all the time. They see people fighting over sex partners every time and witness other obscene sights everyday. It has become a way of life and it is not good.”
According to the state government, the clampdown on brothels operating in residential areas is necessary to curb their influence on young persons. The state Commissioner for the Environment and Habitat, Lowo Obisesan, had told the News Agency of Nigeira on January 4, 2013 that the action was to discourage the state government was set to shut brothels in residential areas around the state.
This was followed by an ultimatum expected to lapse by the end of January.
“Operating brothels in residential areas shows irresponsibility on the part of the owners, who do not care about the impact on children, who are exposed to such acts of indecency.
“Reports from the affected communities have reached us because parents abhor the acts of immodesty shown to their children as the result of the existence of such brothels,” Obisesan told NAN.
But one of the sex workers who introduced herself as Tina said news of the impending clampdown and the support of the residents for the move had set them on edge.
Tina, who gave her age as 16 and some of her colleagues expressed fears that their eviction would deny them of their only source of livelihood.
The young lady, who told our correspondent that she got into prostitution a year ago as a result of the death of her parents, said she got to Ibadan a year ago from her native Delta State.
“I have to do this job in spite of the high risk involved in order to keep body and soul together. I have been at this brothel ever since my arrival in this city.
“This brothel has been here for many years. Why do they want to send us away now? What have we done to them?
“I pay N500 as rent at the brothel everyday. My room is just big enough to contain my small bed and a few other personal effects like bags, clothes, makeup and cooking utensils.
“I use the money I make from this work to pay my rent, feed, buy clothes and take care of other daily needs. I also engage in daily savings.
“If we are sent away now, where do we go?” she asked.
Another sex worker, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said their lodgings were old and poorly maintained.
She added, “Usually, the rooms are poorly ventilated but our customers manage to use the place anyway since it is for short time. But we don’t know why government is asking us to leave the place since they are not the owners of these buildings and they are not going to take over the houses.”
Some of the brothels visited by our correspondent are situated in the business areas of Ekotedo, Queen Cinema and Sabo area of Mokola, Ibadan, where items such as computers, computer accessories, electronics and clothes are sold.
Two of the popular brothels are situated close to two big beer depots in Ekotedo. Beside the beer depots are pockets of small drinking joints where men and women unwind daily.
Activities usually surge at the drinking joints near the brothels in the evenings, especially on weekends. A commercial bus driver who gave his alias as Baba Ishan said that the proximity of drinking joints to brothels was a “wise business decision.”
He said, “Some people will like to step down with fun (sex) after they are through with drinking.”
The brothels are usually old buildings with small rooms and a small reception. The brothels, located either beside the road or in a corner within the residential areas, are usually awash with loud music, thick cigarette smoke and lights of various colours.
Charming and sparsely dressed ladies from ages 15 to 50 often line the corridors and balconies as from 6pm when “customers” begin to trickle in till late night when the arena is filled.
The sight is exciting to school pupils who dance to the sound of the music wafting from the brothels. Occasionally, some of them run errands for the ladies; most times they quickly run to get cigarettes for customers, a resident said.
A Primary 5 pupil, Ade, who reluctantly spoke with our correspondent, said, “I don’t know whether I like them to be moved away or not. I like them because they are friendly but my mother always prevents me from running errands for them.”
Another pupil, who gave her name as Rita simply said, “I don’t like prostitutes” and then ran away.
Rita is a pupil of a school located almost 500 metres away from one of the brothels. Close to other brothels are some private schools.
A house wife, Tonia, said, “I hate to live here. Others live here too. I don’t like what they do but I try to train my child very well.”
Another woman, Mama Bukola, said she had been living close to one of the brothels for a long time.
“I don’t like what they do but there is nothing I can do about it. I am not a prostitute and my daughters are not into prostitution. When you pray and bring up your children properly they will not go into prostitution.
“The removal of these brothels will give us rest of mind in this area. We are happy about government’s plan to evict them,” she said.
Another parent, Mr. Tony Chukwuma, agreed that brothels in residential areas should be shut down but he advised that government should rehabilitate the sex workers. Chukwuma reasoned that unless that was done the decision would create a problem of resettling the sex workers. “Moving the sex workers from the metropolis alone cannot solve the problem of immorality. The society is corrupt in every sense and sexual perversion is just one of the many vices. Relocating them will only shift attention of those who patronise the brothels from one area of the city to the other.
“A total ban on prostitution would have been the best way out to save the society and especially the youth from social perversion. As we commend the government for its courage in flushing the sex workers out of the metropolis, they still need to do something about prostitution in general,” he counselled.
A private school teacher working in Mokola area of Ibadan, Mrs. Teju Olawale, told our correspondent that brothels within residential areas we an eyesore which should be eradicated.
She said that the presence of brothels in residential and school areas was harmful to education and development.
Olawale said, “Every learner should have a sound mind which is neither polluted nor distracted. The minds of pupils living in such an environment will be tuned towards vices and they would not be able to concentrate on their studies. All they will be hearing is bad music; they will be accustomed to bad dressing and all other vices such as drinking and smoking.”
The Chairman, Ibadan North West Local Government, Mr. Wasiu Olatunbosun, explained that allowing these commercial sex workers “in residential areas will pollute the minds of ladies and young boys. We held a meeting with their coordinators and proprietors to agree on government decision.
“Go to places like Ekotedo, Queen Cinema area and you won’t be happy at the sight you will meet. You can imagine the kind of life that children raised in such places face everyday. We have given the sex workers till the end of the month. Those who violate the order shall be forcefully moved.”
When contacted, the spokesman for the state police command, Mr. Ayodele Lanade, said, “I cannot comment yet on government’s decision to close down brothels in residential areas because I have not been around in the state for some time now.
“However, the state government has not formally informed us about the decision to evict sex workers from residential areas. We cannot act until we are carried along. But, I can assure you that the command will not fail in its duties.”

CrimeSoldiers Are On Illegal Duty In My Community by highbee02(op): 10:56pm On Mar 12, 2018
Some soldiers and officers of the Nigerian Army from 222 battalion (Sobi Barack) came to my community today 12/3/2018. This is the 2nd time they would invade my community, Danialu Alfa, Upper Gaa'Akanbi, Ilorin. They alleged the members of the community, especially the youth of burgling the house of one of their girlfriends.
On getting to the community today around 3:00pm, they asked for the community leader who was not around, they met some married women who were sitting outside to receive fresh air, they asked all of them to kneel and eventually a woman was beaten blue black (picture not allowed).
The house in question is situated in between two communities. Is it the responsibility of NA to look for burglars? What measure can we put in place to forestall future occurrence? How can we Channel our complain @Sobi Cantonment? Advice needed

HealthRe: Woman Gives Birth To 'Strange' Baby In Aba, Abia State (Graphic Photos) by highbee02: 8:03am On Mar 10, 2018
ChangeIsCostant:
There was panic after a woman gave birth to a strange baby at a hospital in Aba, Abia state. The incident which happened today reportedly shocked the hospital officials and those around following the ''strange'' birth. According to Cynthia Chioma, the woman survived the delivery and is said to be alive. The baby died after birth.

While some think this has to do with something spiritual, others have argued online that this is a medical condition.

A Facebook user Chyomsie Okorafor Gregory wrote; ''He is an anencephalic baby, this kind of birth defect is caused by lack of folic acid in the body of the woman. If a woman's body cuts short folic acid and she conceives, the lack of folic acid in her body will result to this where a part of the skull or the whole skull will be completely gone''.

''These babies grow like normal pregnancies but once the baby is born and detached from the mother the baby dies. Lots of us don't know if our body cuts short folic acid until the person must have taken in and will discover she is carrying an anencephalic baby maybe at 5months''.

''So its important that once a woman is ready to start trying out for a child or gets married or is having unprotected sex that can lead to pregnancy, she should start taking folic acid to prevent things like this''

EducationRe: Science, Maths Teaching In Indigenous Languages To Begin Soon –FG by highbee02: 2:31pm On Mar 09, 2018
mrkunlex:
Peter Dada, Akure
The Federal Government has said that the teaching of science subjects and mathematics in indigenous languages in primary and secondary schools across the country would commence soon.
Director-General of the National Centre for Technology Management, Prof. Okechukwu Ukwuoma, stated this during a retreat organised for researchers in Akure, capital of Ondo State.
Ukwuoma, who is a member of a committee set up to supervise the project, also disclosed that experts were contracted to translate science and mathematics terminologies to the various indigenous languages spoken in the country.
He said, “Last year, the Minister of Science and Technology and the Minister of Education inaugurated a committee to teach science and mathematics in indigenous languages. The major issue in that regard is the translation of terminologies to the languages for which we have consulted experts in different languages in the country.
The don, who commended the Federal government on the idea, expressed optimism in the success of the project. He also noted that many textbooks had already been translated to some Nigerian languages through the efforts of the committee.
The NACETEM boss stressed the need for researchers to contribute toward the development of science and technology in the country. He lamented the lack of good research works in the country, blaming it on the lust for quick and easy money amongst the people.
“All over the world everything about science and technology is always hard to sell because you need to convince people. Nigerians are good researchers, but they lack something.
“Many businessmen who are supposed ensure the commercialisation of research inventions prefer to buy fake ones outside the country and come back to make quick money,” he said.
However, Ukwuoma disclosed that the Federal Government had established a National Research and Innovation Fund, which would be accessed by entrepreneurs or innovators interested in developing science and technology inventions
The don said, “Information is what people need.
When people lack information, they find it very difficult to find solution to some problems. So we need really to get some information about what is going on.”

1. Headlight

Firstly, the headlight system is attached to the front of a vehicle for the purpose of lighting the road ahead in the night time. Therefore, if the headlights are not working, you might not be able to see the road clearly.

Automobile headlight system is required to produce a low beam and high beam. Low beams light up the road at short ranges and you will mostly use them in the city. On the other hand, high beams are usually used on highways or rural areas without much traffic because they give bright and long-range illumination.

2. Daytime Running Lights

Secondly, daytime Running Light becomes more and more popular nowadays. It helps increase the conspicuity of vehicles in motion during the daytime. It has been compulsory in many countries for many years. Most of the modern vehicles are produced with LED Daytime running light nowadays for not only improving safety and style on the road but also increasing visibility day and night.

3. Signal Lights

The Signal Lights are blinking lamps mounted near the left and right front and rear corners of a vehicle, and sometimes on the sides. They help drivers “read the road” and communicate with other road users that you intend to turn left or right.

4. Rear position lamps

Rear position lamps are required to produce only red lights to give advance warning to other road users that driving behind you. In some premium vehicles, the more you push the brake, the brighter the rear position lamps are.

5. Fog lights

Last but not least, most cars are equipped with fog lights. They are low beams that are mainly used in foggy conditions when you are travelling slowly due to limited visibility. Sometimes, you can also use fog lights on dark windy roads in the middle of the night. Some fog lights are yellow, while others are white.

Many Nigerians know and love the King of Fuji Music Wasiu Ayinde Marshal. However, not all of his fans know that he has a gorgeous house in Ijebu Ode! If you want to see the pictures of Wasiu Ayinde house and learn interesting facts about the mansion and the artiste himself, keep reading!

Who is King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal?

Before we talk about his house, let’s talk a little bit about the man himself. Olasunkanmi Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, known to many Nigerians as K1 De Ultimate, was born on March 3, 1957 in Agarawu and spent a significant part of his life in Ijebu Ode. From early years, he was interested in music, so it was no surprise when he decided to make it his life-long career.

Starting out as a member of Supreme Fuji Commanders in 1975, Wasiu Ayinde entered the Nigerian Fuji scene. In 1979, he decided to go solo, which was definitely the right decision. Since then, he has taken on the alias K1 De Ultimate, released numerous albums and become the King of Fuji Music. You can find him on Instagram @kingwasiuayindemarshal or Facebook @K1DeUltimate and follow his fascinating life.

As you might have guessed, King’s fame has brought him quite a fortune. One of the things he chose to spend it on is a beautiful mansion in Ijebu Ode.

You might have heard that King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal converted his Lagos home to a mosque for his 60th birthday. Since then, he has moved into his new luxurious mansion on Liworo Avenue in Ijebu Ode.

https://madailygist.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/vllkyt1f4duojf05t8.42e9073e.jpeg

The mansion in question is called Ule Omo Ojushagbola, which means ‘The house of the child of Ojushagbola’. It stretches over 1,800 square metres and comprises of four main buildings, including the seven-bedroom house for the King, eight-bedroom house for his guests, a recording studio and a gym. It also has a gate house, staff quarters, a praying area and much more. It was reported that the whole thing cost him over 2 million dollars!

https://madailygist.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/vllkyt26i2r8c0nuig.b18b8a5e.jpeg

That said, when you see the estate, you can definitely tell that it is worth the money. Even the surrounding territory looks stunning. The lawn alone should win some sort of a competition. The way every shrub is meticulously shaped and no palm tree looks out of place is absolutely fantastic.

https://madailygist.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/vllkyt17gj4jh8h5jg.4144f738.jpg

The estate looks like something from a beautiful postcard. No wonder K1 De Ultimate calls it his own Paradise. Virtually the first thing you are greeted with when you enter through the gate (which is also fabulous) is the bluest pool you will ever see. It even has a pleasant sunbathing area, complete with lovely umbrellas and comfortable-looking sunbeds.

https://madailygist.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/vllkyt6gs883voaml.e897f5d2.jpg

The interior of the estate is just as beautiful as its exterior. The rooms are filled with tasteful furniture and matching drapes.

https://madailygist.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/vllkyt61eactskvb5.119a5fb3.jpeg

The master bedroom definitely looks fit for the King, with its shimmering sheets and interesting chandelier.

https://madailygist.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/vllkyt4hmscr2n2q9.9d600058.jpg

The gym is stocked with various exercise equipment and even has a pool table. The kitchen looks neat and high-tech, and the many chandeliers look positively radiant. According to the media, all of this beauty is sustained with the help of three diesel generators, so you know King means business.

https://madailygist.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/vllkyt19rbchq4npf.c1807fc7.jpg

One time, K1 De Ultimate proved that his kitchen was not just for show, and that he knew his way around it. We hope that fire extinguisher in peeking out from around the corner is merely a precaution

https://madailygist.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/vllkyt6jacid7jnun.0b2ec1b0.jpeg

If you want to see even more photos of K1’s beautiful mansion, you can find them on his Instagram page we mentioned before, @kingwasiuayindemarshal. He has lots of pictures, where he and his guests are having a great time at his house. However, we also recommend you to stick around, as we have more things to tell you.
The many animals owned by Wasiu Ayinde
https://madailygist.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/vllkyt3kgc52gbtmcg.6cb03472.jpg

When talking about the singer’s mansion, we have decided to save the best for last. Apart from having a very luxurious house, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal can also boast his extensive collection of various animals. He calls it his Mini Zoo, but, to be fair, some zoos might actually be quite jealous of him!
https://madailygist.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/vllkyt3t4suv6u9n1g.183f7ca4.jpg

Among his collection, you can find many animals, such as goat, gazelle, tortoises, pythons and even a crocodile! However, it seems like the singer is most fond of the feathered creatures. He owns parrots, peacocks, cranes, eagles, chickens and ostriches. And those are only the ones that we know of! Who knows how many other birds he has in his Mini Zoo?
https://madailygist.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/vllkyt5pk8j6ivlhp.6ff85406.jpg
From K1’s Instagram, it seems like he loves his ostriches the most. His beloved birds are so big that they tower well above him in photos. Sometimes they do not even fit in the frame.

As you can see, Wasiu Ayinde is a wealthy man, who has a beautiful house and a fascinating collection of animals. Judging by how hard he has worked throughout his life, we think that all this is well deserved. We wish him many more years of a fruitful career and hope to hear more from him in the future!

snowden9:
I'm a Batch A Stream 1 Corps member (Yea. Counting down weeks to my POP). I currently teach in a private school in rivers state. Nuff about all the intro. To the point now, shall we?
I experienced something today and I just thought i should share to all teachers(both corps members and full time teachers), intending teachers and intending corps members.

I had an SS1 economics class by 12pm and when I got to the class, few seconds in, the students didn't greet. I was expecting someone to save them and echo the routine class greeting so I wouldn't have to punish them (our proprietress have been sounding warning to us as of late to punish the students if we encounter any act of indiscipline from them. Not greeting a teacher qualified as an act of indiscipline). Someone finally called out for the class to greet. They all stood up to greet. Except one girl. I was a bit furious and i asked her why she didn't stand up and greet, she still bent her head on the desk without a reply and as expected, the 'Teacher dictator' in me(every teacher has it) wanted to call her out and give her some strokes of cane. I asked a student if the 'disobedient' girl was sick and the reply was 'No'. Now, i really got more pissed off and wanted to punish her but all of a sudden, i just ignored it, brushed it aside and went on with my teaching.

A few hours later, I was walking past the SS1 class and I saw a girl crying (a different girl),when I asked what happened, they told me one of their classmates mum that was pregnant lost her baby that's why she was crying. I came to know later that the other 'disobedient' girl of my economics class was crying at that time when I entered the class for the same reason that was why she didn't stand up to greet. On my own part, i had to praise myself for making the right decision not to punish her cos i know i wouldn't have been happy with myself if I had punished her and later found out that this was the reason why she didn't stand up to greet.

So my dear teachers, before you flog that student for coming late without listening to her reasons, do you know if she witnessed an altercation between her parents and she was the child trying to settle them? Before you flog him for failing, do you know if his guardian punished him by not feeding him all through yesterday just because he mistakenly broke a plate while washing? Meanwhile he had an exam to write the following day. Before you flog that child, do you know what's going on in the life of that child? Before you raise that cane above your head, ask yourself, 'Have i listened to this child?'

Listen.... It'll only take a minute.

HealthRe: Top 5 Dental Health Mistakes You Should Stop Now by highbee02: 10:30am On Mar 02, 2018
bloomstar:
5 Dental Health Mistakes To Stop Making Now

Even if you think you’re doing everything right, there may be dental health mistakes you’re making every day that you’ve never considered.

Daily habits that might seem look like no big deal add up over the years, setting you up for bad breath, gum recession, and sensitive teeth in the long run—

but don’t worry, many of these are reversible or involve a simple change in your oral care routine!

Here are the top five mistakes I see all the time, along with how to fix them so you can be well on your way to better dental health.

1. Using Mouthwash
Despite what a lot of advertising would have you believe, mouthwash actually isn’t all that great for your dental hygiene.

It disturbs the natural flora in your mouth and can even be drying, thus promoting the growth of the very bacteria you’re trying to kill!

In fact, you want to nourish and promote a healthy balance of bacteria in the mouth for great breath, cavity prevention, and even overall health.

Ever heard of taking probiotics for gut health? The same principle applies for your mouth.

If you’ve been using mouthwash for a long time or have taken antibiotics at any point in your life (that’s most of us!)

you can help restore this balance by including probiotic-rich foods in your diet like cheese and taking a probiotic supplement.

2. Brushing Too Hard

Harder isn’t better when it comes to brushing. In fact, if you brush your teeth too hard, you could be causing damage to your mouth, specifically, your gums.
When you brush your teeth too hard, your gums will begin to recede up and away from your teeth.

This leaves sensitive parts of the tooth exposed, and it can also make you more susceptible to gum infections.

This problem is compounded when you’re brushing too hard with an old toothbrush. When nylon toothbrush bristles are first made,

they are rounded into little domes to make them less abrasive to your teeth, but as they wear away with use, they become sharper, like little knives.

This can cause damage to tooth structure and enamel, literally wearing your teeth away and making them susceptible to damage and cavities.

I recommend replacing your toothbrush every four weeks if you’re brushing twice a day

All of these problems are even further compounded if you’re also brushing too hard. Brushing too hard not only contributes to tooth enamel being stripped away,

it also doesn’t clean teeth effectively. When you brush hard, you usually have less control over where your brush is going,

meaning you’ll clean the outside of each tooth quickly, but you won’t get into the spaces between teeth.

3. Ignoring Pain
Mouth pain is a sign that something’s wrong in your mouth, and that should never be ignored.

While some pain can be easily soothed at home with oil pulling or painkillers, most mouth pain requires a visit to your dentist.

Some pain can be caused by an infection or abscess, which can be quite serious if not treated. Other tooth pain can come from grinding or clenching your teeth,

which should prompt your dentist to screen you for sleep apnea or another sleep breathing disorder.

Other pain, such as increased sensitivity to food temperatures, pressure sensitivity, or general dull aches in your teeth and jaw can

mean that your teeth themselves have been damaged, and to fix this, you’ll definitely need the help of a dentist.

The reason not to wait and see is simple: once the damage is done to a tooth, it never gets better. Yes, teeth do heal themselves,

but the pain is an indicator that you’re past the point of the tooth healing itself and waiting only leads to further damage.

The sooner you make an appointment, the smaller the problem will be (and the easier it will be to fix).

4. Brushing at the Wrong Times

You were always told to brush after every meal, right? Well, the truth is a bit more complicated than that.
While certain foods and drinks—especially ones high in refined carbohydrates—spur the growth of bacteria in your mouth in as little as 20 minutes,
requiring immediate brushing afterward, if you brush after other foods, especially acidic ones, you might be doing more damage than good.

Brushing your teeth immediately after consuming acidic foods can damage tooth enamel. Acidic foods weaken tooth enamel for about 30 minutes after eating,
so brushing up to 30 minutes after meals will actually strip away the enamel in its weakened state, leading to an increased susceptibility to cavities.

This is why I like to say it’s better to brush and floss before breakfast, rather than after!

Instead of brushing after eating acidic foods, swish with water or chew gum to neutralize acid in the mouth. Once 30 minutes have passed, you’re free to brush.

And as for the debate over whether to brush or floss first, it isn’t actually all that important. While there’s a case for both side, what matters is that you’re doing both.

5. Being Afraid of the Dentist!

Have you ever been scolded or felt humiliated at the dentist? Unfortunately, it’s common to not only fear the pain and discomfort of going to the dentist but also the shame—and this is simply unacceptable.
Going to the dentist shouldn’t be painful or anxiety-inducing at all…if you’ve chosen the right practitioner, that is.

Finding a shame-free dentist is one of the best investments you can make not just in your dental health, but your overall health as well since dental health impacts virtually every other system in the body.

The right dentist will take the time to explain every procedure, put you in the driver’s seat, and will put you at ease.

There should be zero tolerance for dentists who make insensitive remarks or shame their patients. The right dentist should make you feel good, not ashamed!

To Satisfy You, This Thing Is Called A "SKINK".
It's Not A Snake. I Did My Research And Figured A Lot About It. Skinks Look Like Snakes Except The Presence Of It's Claws. If It Gets Caught By A Predator, It Can Shed It's Tail And Regrow It Later. It Lives In Warm Habitats.
It's A Reptile And It's A Type Of Lizard. It's Population Is So Huge That It's Not Facing Any Risk Of Extinction.

Let share my own testimony also:

On 21 December 2013, I was travelling to Enugu for a training as the vehicle i boarded passed Abba junction the front tyre(passenger side) pulled out while the driver was on speed. It was in deed a miracle as I couldn't believe I was inside the bus when the driver used a hip of sand to stop the vehicle. See as my legs dey shake, I no couldn't talk, I just went somewhere to sit and started thinking out real out..

Last one was on 13 august 2015 when my auntie was doing her traditional marriage, I took an excuse from work place just to show face. Everywhere was bubbling u know as e dey be nah, so I decided relaxe inside the old building on plastic chair, na Nairaland I dey surf that day. I didn't know what made me to look downwards in-between my legs because I was relaxing very well on my back(you can call it semi lying down). Lo and behold, I saw something like a shinny mop-stick, as I tried to look very well, the shinny thing was moving. Brothers and sisters on NL, it was a snake, so as I raised my left leg that crawling-creepy-disgusting creature raises it's upper body and strike immediately but it ended up hitting the one of the leg of plastic chair(I never knew I was a talented jumper till that very day). No be small thing, as I'm typing this it's still giving me goose bumps. It's one hell of an experience embarassed
Tell us exactly what you were doing inside the old building........ puffing
TravelRe: "Molue": Will You Miss It? by highbee02: 9:14pm On Feb 22, 2018
AutoJoshNG:
“Molues” were the kings of Lagos roads.

These typically rickety motorized contraptions are built from a Mercedes or Bedford lorry-head.

When in motion –they sometimes give an impression that their tyres and the steering wheel are not in unity.

Sometimes, patronizing Molues is a necessary inconvenience.

The only edge these uniquely designed mammy-wagons commanded over other modes of transportation was its affordability. For a pittance, a passenger could be transported to a distant location within Lagos.

Riding in Molues is always an adventure. As soon as one is inside, drama is never in short supply.

The ability to embark and to disembark from a Molue is a special art form. The doors are not necessarily the only point of entrance. The windows come in handy too.

A ride in a Molue offers not a few side attractions. For instance, it offers a substantial dose of aggravations, entertainment, commercial activities; pocket-picking opportunities, sexual harassments, etc.

The passengers in a Molue is often an odd mismatched assortment of people. The typical ratio is “49 seating and 99 standing”. Some of the passengers can easily pass for escapees from a prison or a psychiatric hospital.

Then there is the combative driver and his conductors. They are the kings here. The Molue is their kingdom. Common courtesy, respect for others and decorum is totally alien to them.

Moreover, to be a Molue driver or conductors, besides driving skills, other credentials required include a husky voice and body odour.

The conductors also enjoy rubbing their sweaty bodies against the bodies of the multitude of standing passengers whenever they wriggle around to collect the fares.

In Molues, it is almost customary for a journey to begin with a prayer or religious session. One of the passengers usually conducts this. When done, the same passenger, or another, would later proceed to advertise some pharmaceutical or herbal concoction.
These products are typically sold with a claim to potency for all manner of sicknesses and diseases - from the common cold to Cancer and HIV! Bizarrely, too, some of the products boast of a NAFDAC endorsement.

Indeed, there is never a dull moment in this theatre of the absurd.

Today, this legend of the Lagos roads gradually fades into extinction.

However, we cannot help but admit the entertainment riding in Molues brought to the lives of commuters in Lagos.

Nevertheless, the iconic Molue is one experience that we will all love to miss.

Or will you miss the legendary Lagos Molues?

HealthRe: Dangers Of Excessive Smoking, A Victim You Should See by highbee02: 2:41pm On Feb 15, 2018
bloomstar:
A practical example of effects of smoking

Dangers of excessive smoking is easily heard both in the street and everywhere, we are warned by the ministry of health ut we pay no attention to it, here is a practical example, this man who is a chain smoker was diagnosed with cancerous tumors both on the lungs and on the oral cavity(mandibular bone).

He had two surgeries on same day, on the oral cavity and on the lungs to remove the tumors, his mandibular bone was completely removed and changed by the maxilofacial surgeons.

excessive Smoking is known as a major cause for tooth discoloration, bad breath and also systemic illness as well as lung damage.

Smoking causes most of the following

-Smoking causes tooth discolouration
-it also leads to bad breath, mouth odour
-Smoke brings dryness to the mouth, there by encouraging tooth decay
-Smoking excessively brings uncondusive atmosphere for digestive enzymes in your mouth.
-it is a big source of cancerous tumor

An example is picture below

A young man was diagnosed with poorly differentiated cacinoma of the oral cavity. Surgery was conducted, hemimandibulectomy (surgical removal of half of the mandible) and reconstruction of the jaw.

And he got this from tobacco, excessive smoking of cigarette. avoid smoking as you can.. see the operation procedure conducted..his mandible was totally removed and changed by pysicians and maxilofacail surgeons, and his lungs was also operated on to remove cancerous tumors.

share as you can, your health is your wealth,

I guess when you was 16 or 18 years you were strong to say no to blackmail from people with authorities and stood your ground no matter what.

You all seems to come online to act strong while in your present age you could easily be manipulated to send nude photos. Lady don’t come online to shame your fellow gender for its quite easily to manipulate your gender into sending nudes, or making a sex tape.

Ps: those ladies were scared of not giving in due to the randy principal who has authority to cause harm to them. Perhaps you don’t know this but when we were teens we agree to so many sh*t cos we are either scared or don’t want to be disrespectful.
