adeniyi3971:At least i still remember the case of the unilag lecturer whipping his students with cane. So gerrarahia. And what is Afe101? What course is that? Don't tell me you ABUAD folks study Afe Babalola as a course that would be beyond ridiculous. And why is the class looking like a shrine A university classroom should be very bright, well lit - That hall alone can make me fail a course. No wonder they are fighting. If that is Alfa Belgore hall then it needs a complete interior decor makeover.Lastly, the lecturer should be suspended, likewise the student. Lalasticlala |

Seun:Exactly... Christianity is illogical, the bible is filled with illogical things but it is the Truth. I have also witnessed illogical personal testimonies. Our brain was designed to grasp the concepts that it was designed for. Your brain won't answer the questions of your faith. When i speak to you as a Christian i am not appealing to your brain but to your spirit being. The natural laws that apply on planet earth do not apply on mars. Each world to his own Truth! |
There are stranger events and instructions in scripture. Christianity isn't built on logic but faith.. As for your sermon on Nigeria's decadence, pls preach it to your govt and leave Pa Adeboye out of it. |
CodeTemplar:Socialism won't help us in this country. This program is also not sustainable in the long run. It would be far better if the money is used to empower entrepreneurs who can then employ people. Taking Nigerians out of poverty should be the aim, not feeding them. I would rather give this money to Tony Elumelu's foundation to expand the reach of his program to take more people out of poverty. |
You rarely ever see Chris Oyakhilome in a political scene. This is good. |
abbey621:All i know is Covenant produces a lot of excellent developers home and abroad. Currently, we have quite a number working at Silicon Valley and i know they are excellent. I do not know whether they acquired their practical knowledge from school or elsewhere. The issue of curriculum is an issue for all Nigerian programmes. We need to get to the point where universities are allowed to determine and design their own curriculum. |
TheVictorious:Thing is i don't even know much about this CS thing. But ivknow CU produces a lot of excellent developers.... Very excellent ones in fact. |
CodeTemplar:I hope we won't hear of them going on strike again. |
RedeemNigeria:Covenant university doesn't offer Law yet. If we did we would have scattered everywhere ![]() Congratulations to ABUAD! |
Let us not forget how buhari allowed the wanton killings of innocent souls go by unhindered in Benue, Adamawa, Taraba and now southern kaduna. He must be rejected! I Am A Yoruba Man And I Nor My Family Would Never Support Buhari Again. |
CodeTemplar:Exactly, so i wonder why they are rejoicing. I don't see an employer giving preference to ABU graduates over Babcock or AUN so why are they rejoicing lol? Every sensible school is searching out ways to make her graduates competitive and relevant some are glorifying themselves in making theirs less competitive. |
Are you sure work is really going on there sha. The project seems to be on slow motion these days. |
KEVIND:When you deliberately withold first class degree you hamper people's chances of competing nationally and internationally for jobs, scholarships etc. Almost half of all graduates from Imperial graduate with first class, about 700 Oxford students graduated some 1 or 2 years ago. It doesn't make ABU better than those universities, does it? And ABU has never been ranked best uni in Nigeria by any professional ranking body before. Lalasticlala |
This is very bad. It is as though the northern elites don't want the peopke enlightened. Lalasticlala |
The South West would be crucial to Atiku's Victory. My advise is for him to pick a proposed SGF from the South-West now and not wait till after election. If it doesn't break campaign rules, the picture of the proposed SGF should be included in the campaign posters/bill boards of Atiku/Obi situated particularly in the South West. He needs to create a mental equivalence of the VP and SGF in the heart of every Yoruba man alive. There's a real risk for the South West in this election. If Buhari loses the SW and by extension the election, it would severely reduce the electoral value of the South West which would encourage other candidates to look elsewhere for alliances since the Osinbanjo presence couldn't win the Zone over for Buhari. The South West is truly playing to the tune of advanced democracy where votes are issue based, but the zone is advised not to throw caution to the wind especially In a country where the other five zones are going to put ethnicity as a core motivation for voting. |
frankfab:It is sponsored by Tony Elumelu, not federal govt of Nigeria, he does not owe anybody an explanation as to why the program is holding there. And moreover where would you rather have him take the program? |
alexvatt:You are indeed the fool if you fail to realise that much of this universities are very young. But they are in fact best placed to be centers of excellence in the future. |
Biingoo:Please i hope you realise that Liberia's best university doesn't rank top 18,000 in the world university rankings. Despite a poor representation by private unis, the University of Liberia and other public schools are not even indexed at all. So if they did this badly with tuition fees, how would they fair without tuition? A university ranked 18,000 below is definitely not doing any research, not even inferior one. What then is the point of education if it isn't worth more than the paper it was printed on. My advise to Liberia is for them to focus free qualititative education for primary and secondary schools while permitting people to work good jobs with their High School Certificate(e.g Banking, Telecoms etc) This would disincentive too many people from going to universities which would then allow them to provide top notch education for bright individuals to service specific professional sectors(e.g Medicine, Pharmacy, Engineering, Law) Lalasticlala codetemplar

The trick isn't making it free but making it effective. Africa hasn't suffered from the lack of affordable universities as much as it has from innefective ones. Politicians do not tell people the truth and we the people largely misunderstand the concept of Universities. Universities are to be solution providers, which in the process of proferring solutions produce graduates who can in turn mass produce solutions for challenges in the wider society. Therefore a university that does not produce solutions in itself is not qualified to be called an ivory tower because it would not produce relevant graduates. The Harvard of today might be out of the reach of the poor but it has contributed to human development remarkably. As a matter of fact the expensive Harvard has helped the poor of Africa more than all the free instistutions in Africa combined... I would rather have an expensive University that would produce drugs that would cure my poor African brethren of their ailments than the universities which gives them fake free education but shortens their life span with Stress. While i am not against free education i am of the opinion that quality should not be sacrificed on the alter of affordability... |
Kenekingisback:Beyond the fact that ppl must 'chop' down the chain for govt projects which inflates cost massively, another factor is that Oyedepo does not use foreign contractors which makes his budget lower. In 1999 when Faith Tabernacle was going to be built, Julius Berger requested for some billions and 3 years duration to complete the project, that didn't sit down well with him - he simply called all church members who are architects, civil engnrs etc after a particular service. Many of them came, they did a quick interview, sent some home and put the rest to work. After one year they had their church completed with just 100 million naira spent. |
The Redeemed Christian Church of God CRA Nottingham was blessed by Ian Fisher, the M.D. of Bonningtons ( @TeamBonningtons ) with a Telsa Model X donation as a lead car to welcome the General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adegboye’s first visit to Nottingham. https://twitter.com/RCCGCRANOTTS/status/1053590194857959424?s=19

It is very beautiful, they should build a beautiful indoor basketball court too. |

pawesome:Which theology degree did Paul have before entering christian ministry?.. Don't get me wrong pastors have to learn before entering ministerial assignment but how they learn it varies from ministeries to ministeries... Also the content of curriculum would also cause conflicts as many ministeries differ in their interpretation of scriptures. |
