My own is; treat me right and I will treat you with all the love in my heart...but treat me bad then you will see my dark side undecided......I'm a human being for crying out loud, I have feelings and emotions sad.....you don't expect me to submit like a person who doesn't have a soul, mind and emotions. The bible's definition of submission is for women who have no feelings or emotions, it's for women with a slave mentality huh sad.....This is sooo unrealistic!!! It's more of fallacy tongue
CrazyQuinn, with this mindset I will advice you to forget about marriage because IT CAN NEVER WORK for you, trust me.

I was...how else will I be confident to come to the most populous online forum in Africa to start dishing out marital advice.

Some will say why advise us if you can't keep your marriage and I see that as an ignorant and lame question. Anyone who has passed through a road is in the best position to tell you about it.

Furthermore it is important to understand that if you have never been in that institution called marriage, you may never understand when you read stuffs about it....trust me, it's not a walk in the park but it's an institution you must meticulously strife to be in.

When some people blame pastors or people in divorce mess for being careless about their marriage I just shake my head at the ignorance of some people.

I am telling you for a fact that if ladies can learn to be submissive to their husbands, that man will make her his for life.

A submissive lady is an elixir to our soul...
Being submissive is different from being mindless or a zombie but in all you do and say, just be submissive.
Just to add to this beautiful piece, we actually learn more from those who failed in a venture.

I understand all your points and I can identify a few comments from people who are apparently not experienced in marriage.

@OP

Stop sounding like you're an authority or one who has monopoly of wisdom.

Your postulation is flawed to someone like me, because I believe that love or submission when given (earned or not), should be maintained so as to sustain it.

In my altruistic nature, every living human being is automatically qualified for my love, care, respect etc - free of charge - however, to sustain any of these free goodies from me (especially a wife) she must continually improve (maintain) on all virtues.

In summary, I say altruism plus reciprocation equal to a healthy and happy marriage.
You could have made your points without this unwarranted attack on the OP. If you think you are more knowledgeable, why not educate the house rather than this uncivil conduct?

From what I read, the OP merely expressed what he knows, perhaps based on experience or research.

Don't twist the law so what if the accused confesses of such act?
You call the person deranged?
What is your definition of confession? The only legally binding and accepted confession is that which is done without threat of any kind, in the court.

That is why a person can deny a statement written at the police station and even allege that it was written under duress.

The truth is, if any activist takes this woman's case to court, all those who attacked the woman, will be sorry for themselves and they may even end up in jail.

believing in the existence of evil is one thing, trying to prove that a person is evil is another. and it is yet another, for you to assault a citizen of the federal republic of Nigeria, on the suspicion that they are "evil", in the absence of evidence of any legal wrongdoing.

All those who laid hands on this woman should be arrested and charged to court.
And they will be jailed because nobody can prove that something is a charm or juju just as nobody can prove that a human being is a witchcraft.

BodyKiss:
So, because of a constitution crafted by some backward thinking people, we should believe that witchcraft is real? This is the problem with you people.

I want to hear you people talk about some firsthand experiences when you talk about how real witchcraft is.
What that fellow was referring to as constitution, is actually the criminal Act and it even made it clear that the proof of charm, juju and witchcraft shall lie on the accused. Section 213 (b).

So if the accused denies it, there is no other way to prove your case. Isn't that laughable?

If you believe in existence of God then witchcraft is 100% real. You may be too casual to know about the existence of the dark world. Even your constitution recognize witchcraft.
Stop saying what you don't know. The constitutional provision you are referring to, have you bothered to check the interpretation?

How exactly can you prove to the court that somebody is a witch?

Did you read the clause in that law------- that the proof of such excuse shall lie on the person?

Don't be pathetic, how do you know if his shirt was clean and properly ironed? The interviewers are not blind, they can't say that to him or try to embarrass him if he looked good. They could have seen some faults in the shirt, maybe some stains and it wasn't properly ironed. Interviewers hardly comment on someone's outfit(talking from experience ).. so whether the sun is blazing hot or it's raining cats and dogs, "A SUIT" remains the best outfit for an interview.
This type of Interview is mostly conducted for managerial positions and it's called "STRESS TEST OR STRESS INTERVIEW. It's the job of some panellists to intentionally throw you off balance and deliberately provoke you.

This is the best test for candidates seeking to occupy management positions where subordinate of different background and characters are to report directly to them.

It's a general application in Human Resources and not peculiar to Nigeria.

Lol. I can relate to that.. Nigerian HRM are just not it at all..
You are probably not conversant with global best practices. All over the world, certain job positions, especially managerial posts, requires a great deal of anger management, stress management and emotional control.

So, sound HR experts will intentionally say certain annoying and embarrassing things to upset you, so they can access your level of resilience and emotional strength. It's possible this candidate was gorgeously dressed and perhaps in the best fabrics. This type of Interview is called "STRESS INTERVIEW".

You can read up "Types of Interview" for managerial positions.

shocked shocked shocked Sue to an affidavit?

What exactly are the words of the IGP so i can help you review the real meaning.
The order by the IGP to get a sworn affidavit in addition to a search warrant, was a swift reaction to a supreme court judgement where it was unanimously agreed by a vote of 9-0 judges.

That order was first given by IGP Arase and recently reiterated by IGP Idris.

It was held that phones are not the same as wallets and other devices, but an intrusion into suspect's right to privacy.

Although police may generally need to search a suspect's phone if there is a "probable cause".

i'm very sure they didn't have any warrant with them. The boy for just submit the phone sha
Exactly my point. An innocent and educated person who had no incriminating contents could have submitted the phone for search and thereafter, report the incident to the Police Complaints Response Unit via a simple phone call or even SMS.

At least the injuries could have been avoided.

Most of our policemen on the road are not only uncultured but also illiterate and ignorant of relevant human rights laws. And again, I wonder the reasoning of a man arguing with a gun wielding policemen on such a lonely road

He should have given them the damn phone to avoid beating! We all know Naija police are not humans na. E better to just avoid them abeg.
The picture I am seeing here is that of a Yahoo boy. He intentionally resort to running away because of the contents of the phone.

Please don't get the directive from IGP wrong, it's not that police can't search your phone. The instruction is that a policeman will have to swear to an affidavit before searching.
