Maybe you need to give us the full meaning of UTME that doesn't include Examination.

And if you think the word "SCREENING" doesn't connote any kind of physical, oral or written examination, then I am shocked.

For those saying Nigeria cannot disintegrate having survived decades of violence, let them remember that you can cut a big tree for hours but the actual fall happens in a matter of seconds

let us convoke a sovereign national conference now before it becomes late.
What date exactly do you suggest that we convoke the SNC since the set date for the disintegration of Nigeria by the Avengers is tomorrow?

This has been the menace for long. But lets look at it from this angle.

Can you first pay fine before you can patronize a store or supermarket because you bought a market from them sometimes ago and you don't come back for weeks to transact with them ?

Can you first pay fine because you decided to pardon a company that fumbled when you transact with them last time instead of them to. apologize to you ?

Can you first pay fine before you reconnect with a firm that gave you very low quality service the last time you dealt with them ?

In all the above it is clear such companies and firms need to tender apology to you before you come back to them.

IN NIGERIA that is NOT so !
Are we sane to still be paying RECONNECTION FEE to PHCN, DISCO, GENCO, IBEDC, LEDC etc now that such are private companies ?

Something is wrong with Nigerians and SO MANY things are WRONG with our Minister For POWER, # RAJI Fasola.

Who audits the account of reconnection fees, do we have a good record of that ?

Mr Minister must be a beneficiary, that must account for huge corruption like Dasukigate.

* N35,000 for prepaid meter, customers will buy it, poles, wires of different kinds, pay for installations AND power company will claim ownership without any compensation to the customers, courtesy our senseless political leaders who are the role models because of looting. They come to your house & disconnect the cables you bought with your hard-money, most times when you are not around.... Should this continuehuh
I doubt if you will be disconnected if you are using a prepaid meter.

More so, I doubt if you will be disconnected if you are not owing.

Reconnection fee applies only to defaulting consumers who were disconnected on the ground that they REFUSED to pay for electricity consumed.

reverendfather:
failed marriages every where, how where our forefathers able to manage homes even polygamous homes, is still a question I hope to get an answer to, someday.
It is very simple. The more feminists we have the more difficult it will be to have a lasting marriage. Women are trying harder than ever, to command the same authority and right with their husbands. Any lady today is either a feminist or has a feminist friend.

Most men marry to have a family to cherish. The man starts changing gradually, and perhaps into a monster, when he isn't getting the respect he deserves.

You missed the point, perhaps because he didn't explain it in detail.

The message was that majority of the applicants were there because of joblessness and not PASSION for the profession.

And if you think joblessness is the ONLY reason people look for jobs, then I am surprised.

Not condoning what happened in kano cos that was very barbaric but I detest the hypocrisy and double standard of the South. We don't see outcry and condemnation of the barbaric things that happen down south. From beheading, to jungle justice and burning people alive. If there is anybody that take the laws into their hands it's southerners. Online warriors won't see this and condem it on social media as they would do if it happened in the north.
Why is it that anytime the northerners want to condemn the senseless killing of that Christian woman by bloodthirsty Muslims, it will always end with "BUT"? And thereafter they start trying to justify it.

Jadmchris:
this one you are saying fake news,is like you want it to be scrapped
That is not the reason I said the news was fake. A credible news should state where it was said, on what occassion and to whom.

However, I have always suggested the scrapping of the scheme because it has lost relevance.

NYSC was introduced ONLY to promote national unity and integration, but it is not working. That we are ONE NIGERIA is only on paper. More so, corpers from other tribes were particularly targeted during violence and elections by their host tribes/communities.

Regrettably, graduates are presently being kept at home because of the corruption that has rendered the commission bankrupt.

Imagine having your degree result yet you can't get a job because of one useless NYSC certificate that adds no value.

As an HR Personnel, from my worth of experience here in my company we also advice employee to resign instead sack, this is a WIN-WIN situation btw the 2 parties, firm is trying to be on a safer side while also giving the employee a good chance of getting another better job having resign.
You are not addressing this particular situation. You have just talked about what can be done abinitio.

The Op is talking about an employee who is ALREADY sacked and called back to resign. Legally speaking, the second consideration must have been an afterthought on the part of the employer, seeing the dangers ahead.
Career › Re: Employer Fired A Staff And Asked Him To Come Back To Resign Should He ? by histemple: 7:18am On Jun 06, 2016
Before resigning, get a lawyer to study the circumstances surrounding the sack. The firm may have noticed the dangers and decided to get him to resign.

I doubt if they are willingly doing him any favour. Why didn't they ask him to resign before throwing out?

Nevertheless, there is no sack or resignation until there is either a sack or resignation letter.

Baaballiyo:
What most Christians don't seem to appreciate about the Northern Muslims is the fact that they hold their religion dearly and consider it scared and their prophet more so, it happened more than once with thesame results, if you live in the North you can't touch their religion/prophet and go scout free, even the British invaders ( colonialist ) were left with no option but to rule the North through their Emirs ( Indirect rule; bc as Christians if they rule directly there would had been chaos) and never interfere with their religion.

The REACTION was barbaric but what of the ACTION that lead to the REACTION ?

Therefore, as we collectively condemn the barbaric reaction we ought to also condemn the barbaric action so that in the future the barbaric action will not be repeated by any person and this will prevent such a barbaric reaction.
I suspect that you are either a northerner or a Muslim apologist but I have just one question for you.

What ACTION would be enough for YOU to justify a REACTION to kill a human being who didn't kill or harm anybody?

Do you have any reason to believe that Buhari really understand English language?

Politics › Re: Why Are The Events Of The Biafran War Being Avoided In Nigerian History? by histemple: 10:46am On Jun 05, 2016
marshborn:
Please I would like to state clearly before asking these questions that I am not affiliated to any organisation, be it IPOB or MASSOB, so I wouldn't appreciate anybody calling me any of these names just because I am an igbo man.

My elder sister happened to study history at obafemi awolowo university (OAU), during a conversation with her, I asked her what her curriculum was like and she mentioned several wars that happened in the past, which included the U.S civil war and even the exploits of napoleon the great e.t.c but never mentioned anything about the civil war fought in our very own country, NIGERIA.
Why is the issue of the biafran war always avoided in Nigeria? After all its part of our history and heritage as a country.
I believe the present generation have the right to know exactly what happened in the history of the our country.
Or are there facts that those in power don't want people to know?
Because it is funny teaching a Nigerian history student about the exploits of Hitler and nothing about a war that went on in his own country.
What do you guys think?
There is a deliberate attempt, and regrettably so, by some evil characters in Nigeria to wipe away their past evil acts.
If you noticed, history as a subject is no longer taught in our primary and secondary schools.
