Christianity EtcRe: Why Do Some People Believe There Is Life After Death? by holocron: 2:11pm On Jul 22, 2017
Those research u r qouting is still inconclusive. Some researchers have categorized OOBE as Lucid dreams. The jury is still out on the question of Life After Death. Its not likely to be true, but there os no hard proof either way. For certain when u r dead, you are dead to this world, no doubt: but survival in another form? In another sphere of reality? Who knows?

It was written:
King James 2000 Bible - 1 SAMUEL 10:12
And it came to pass, when all that knew him before saw that, behold, he prophesied among the prophets, then the people said one to another, What is this that is come unto the son of Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets?
Christianity EtcRe: The Truth About Magic, sorcery And Witchcraft by holocron: 10:09am On Jul 22, 2017
OP, No difference between you and those you say believe in magic, witchcraft etc. You too believe in similar things: satan and his powers of deception, etc

For your info, the old testament forbid witches and sorcery practitioners because they were a competition for the Levites - the accredited diviners, just like today your Government will hound you for printing money; they will call it counterfeit and criminalize u.

All of them, African traditional religion, judaism, christianity and islam - They all have the same roots. Infact many historians believe they were derived from African Traditional Religion, but judaism purged itself of superstition, so their practictioners could advance in science. Islam also did same to some extent. Christianity refused to do so, and has been thus abandoned by the whites who have returned it back to sender.
PoliticsRe: Shehu Sani Dissociates People Of Kaduna From El-rufai’s Lashing Of Late Ahmadu B by holocron: 9:25am On Jul 22, 2017
Shehu sani is talking like a sychophant. Thats the problem with our political elite; instead of joining minds and forces with one another to find solution for the country, they would rather bury their head in the sand. Must you mine political capital out of everything. Everything Ahmadu bello did is on record. It was North first, and Nigeria 2nd. He appeared to be disagreeing with El rufai, but still agreed in the end.

Awolowo too was the same thing. They both disagreed in the concept of one Nigeria. Awolowo famously stated that Nigeria was a mere geographic expression. "There are no Nigerians in the sense of the French, the English...". Ahmadu bello rejected the British offer of independence in 1956, that the north was not yet ready with its personnel, and was not ready to use other qualified Nigerians to run its government. Who is fooling who?

It was only ZIK who espoused not even a pan-Nigerian, but Pan-African idealism. But the tragedy of ZIK was that he was not fanatically resolute in his idealism and retreated from time to time into ethnic politics when confronted with the ethnic chauvinism of his two compatriots above.

El-rufai is intelligent, when he can remove his mind from bigotry.

PoliticsRe: NIGERIA Problems-1million Innovative Ideas Needed by holocron: 9:17am On Jul 20, 2017
I noticed you've put up this idea before and no comments or response. Well...dont expect any this time around. Most nairalanders are bereft of ideas on the esoteric things of life. Nairalanders are Nigerians and the only response to your post can only be to ask for God's intervention. Na only God..., God go..., God this, God that.

To attract a discourse or make front page, try soliciting for ideas on music stars, comedians, politicians SOCIAL ACTIVITIES concerning the display of wealth, religion, love and sex, and other trivial issues. Or try putting up pix of gory accident scenes, wild animals, or salacious scandals.

And the moderators are not to blame for this. They can only put up topics that majority of the members will identify with. Years ago, a brilliant Nollywood screen writer published a very thought provoking and inspiring book. At the book launch, a reporter asked him that if he had this talent all along, why did he keep on writing thrash - infantile and predictable nollywood screenplays - for production always. He explained that is what the producers demand from him based on the adjudged taste of the public. As an industry they can only produce what they are sure the audience can appreciate and patronize.

Its sad but thats the way it is, and it will be like that for a long time to come.

Let us not bother replying the trolls. They only derail the conversation.

Trolls: If u dont know, or are not sure, then u ask or google it, instead of aimlessly countering reasoned arguments without equivalent logical points.

The basis of any viable conversation is reason, logic, and enough intellectual honesty to abandon or modify cherished opinions in the light of contradictory evidence.

I dont know if this alters ur logic but, a little point of order:
Remember, south africa was a colony settled by europeans just like USA, Canada, and Australia! It was marked out for development as they live there. Developed with resources from other areas.

Good points. But I don't agree they were "better rulers" at all. How can you be a better ruler because you provide everything perfectly for 0.1% of the population, leaving 99.9% in penury and deprivation? You are a better ruler if you provide inefficiently for even 20% of the population.
It depends on how u look at it. That is, the intention of the govt. Colonial govt aimed at only 0.1% for their own selfish purposes and met there mark. Our govt aimed at 100% and u know the score. Its just a matter of who achieved its goals.

The British invested in developing Singapore. They did the opposite in Nigeria. Additionally, the 4 or 5 Asian tiger nations were given by the west, unprecedented technology transfer, capital and western market access after WW2, which turned them into economic powerhouses. The west did this after WW2 to create capitalist strongholds in the Pacific as a way of checkmating Soviet communism in the region. The Soviets had just defeated the nazis and were looking to expand their global reach to Asia and beyond. That was when the west decided to create the so called Asian tiger economies we know today.
Thank you. You savvy something. You are an excellent scholar. The battle to drain the swamps of ignorance is not an easy one.

British colonial masters are better leaders than Nigeria animalistic politicians.
Op, stop whining.
OP has valid points. The British were better rulers - True, and there rule was mainly to their own advantage and impoverished the masses.

There was regular electricity, public water works, good road network; but only in narrow enclaves centered around centers of colonial commerce and government. Millions were deprived of this goodies without any plan to provide them.

Not to be forgotten, colonial administration was military dictatorship. It was a military government. That was why it was not so strange for the military to re-take power in 1966, just 6 years from independence.

Whatever be the case, there's no point harping on the past. Colonialism is over and its never coming back. The whites of these days are not even as tough and disciplined as their forefathers and cannot run an empire, what with their decadency and demographic crisis. They are mainly living from the excellent foundations and industrial society built by their forefathers. The chinese and other Asians are taking over. The African is free and a master of his destiny. Lets tàke our future in our own hands.

dipznano:
Dear, there is no form of mediocrity in my thinking + I'm neither basic nor simple.
What I am trying to point out is, don't ever give up on a college degree!
At the moment I'm gaining experience from one of these companies, trust me in a matter of years I could peel off and either venture into entrepreneurship or seek greener pastures.

My point is, I dint favour apprenticeship over a college degree to gain experience or fend for myself; rather I chose a college degree which is in turn paying me very well and equipping with over x3 the knowledge an apprentice will gain in the same time frame.

However, you may be right to conclude 'it won't work for you that way'...
Friend, I think they are talking generally and statistically. There must still be a few exceptions to the rule - like yourself. But how many multinationals are there in the country, and how many can they employ. We need to create our own indigenous industries. We are thinking of possibilities of entrepreneurship and self-employment. The fact now is that the University and polytechnic system in Nigeria has failed and people have to device alternative and useful education or perish.
Besides, even in that industry u are, the training u think u are getting is highly specific and biased to that industry to enable u function as a useful part in a vast and complex machine. If or when u leave that job after many years, you will be like a fish out of the water unable to function competently anywhere in the real economy. I know u may not accept all these but its good that u know it.

EmeeNaka:
Hausa-Fulani is a political term not social-cultural term. We know Fulani herdsmen not Hausa-Fulani herdsmen. Fulani are completely different from Hausa. Fulani enslaved and still enslaves Hausa people.
I concur. There is no category called hausa-fulani. The ruling fulanis in the north take great pains to maintain the purity of their ethnicity and culture. They have carefully preserved the language and way of life. So what's anyone talking about. As West African travellers, all fulani can speak Hausa since that language has evolved to a sort of lingua franca. That shouldn't make them Hausa-Fulani as they are also linguists adept at the various languages of their hosts all over West Africa.

In their favour, let it be admitted that the fulanis are erudite, organized, and able administrators. They were able to establish the sokoto caliphate, one pf the largest indigenous states in west africa, after ancient Ghana, Mali, and songhai. They have managed the northern Hausas well so far, else the population would have risen up against them. The fulanis mismanaged their stewardship of Nigeria, handed to them by the british, by becoming too susceptible to their master's interests, forgetting the needs of the people.

I believe religious studies should be made compulsory in our school curriculum. Religious studies and Languages.

My reason being the socio - ethnic and political environment we live in today. Nobody knows where their life's path will lead them. It would be only proper that our kids are educated on the religious beliefs that are predominant in our society and also learn a new language that is different from their indigenous language.

Just my take. No need to make everything political. Just a common sense thing.

Imagine a student going through school only to get posted to Zamfara or some Northern state and the kid is ignorant of the religious beliefs and language of those people only to end up in trouble that could have been avoided if he or she had prior knowledge of how things worked in those parts.
Social studies should take care of all that

Is this how the Aryan race have ended?

The Germans have failed their hero, Hitler. Heil Hitler.

Now that the Germans have entered the race, expect to see artificial wombs very soon. Anything they do, they do it with ferocious ingenuity and efficiency. Childbirth will soon be mechanized through artificial wombs. Already male and female can be interchanged through sex-change. Thats the only thing that remains.

Welcome to BRAVE NEW WORLD.
