As we celebrate the father's day, I feel a dashing pain in my heart, a pain inflicted by the lackadaisical attitude of the so called fathers in the Nation towards EDUCATION, the bedrock of the nation building'.

They see no reason for improving or contributing to making the educational state a better one because their children are not entangled in the web of this educational crisis.

After series of strike, school fees hike, so much effort put in by the student to pass and earn a certificate, they become graduates whose certificates is laid waste because of the unemployment in the country.
A quote from president Buhari stated "Degree certificate is not assurance to get a Job"

It is so sardonic that the value of our Education is directly proportional to the value of our Naira, both have drastically devalued to the extent that a certificate earned remains a paper useless to the holder. What troubles me most is not the rate of unemployment in the country but the sensitisation of vocational training preached by the so called government who have failed in every dimension in giving the youths a better future.

Those wicked homo sapeins tell graduates to embrace vocational trainings whereas their children do not do the same.

A Human Right, good governance and social justice advocacy group, Youth Advocates For Peace Justice And Empowerment Network (YAPJEN) has called on the President Muhammadu Buhari led Federal Government and the Inspector General of Police to take urgent steps and adopt stringent measures to redeem the image of the Nigerian Police Force and restore the confidence of the citizens in the force.

Amb. Timothy Nwachukwu, The Executive Director, Youth Advocates For Peace Justice And Empowerment Network (YAPJEN) has advocated that regular training programmes should be organized to enhance professionalism and productivity of the Nigerian police in the critical areas of investigation, intelligence gathering, guard duties, surveillance/conflict resolution and management, prevention of cases.

Amb. Timothy Nwachukwu, A model United Nations Ambassador while addressing a cross section of Activitist in Awka the State capital showered encomiums on Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mustapha Danduara for the recent strides of the State Command which include the recent apprehension of the killers of an Undergraduate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka who was gruesomely and senselessly murdered and her body dropped at Government quarters Awka,
arrest of Cultist and criminals rampaging within the state.

YAPJEN Executive Director however identified Corrupt Practices as the bane of effective
Policing in Nigeria.

He stated that Policing in Nigeria has been bedevilled by a culture of corruption and lack of accountability as some police officers engage in various
forms of extortion of money from the public at several check point while some citizens are made to part with their hard earned resources at ATM point, thus leaving their victims and helpless citizens losing hope in the police whose primary duty is to secure it's citizens.

The Peoples Advocate as he is widely known pointed out that Insufficient funding by the Government
has impeded the performance of the security Agency.

He stated that unknown to many Nigerians, most police officers buy the cloth materials for their uniforms and sew them with their personal money, buy their shoes, buy recharge cards to make calls on cases.

He stated that the only thing the Nigeria Police officers don’t buy for themselves is perhaps their guns and bullets as most times even the guns are fastened around their shoulders with whatever ropes they can hands upon and
He therefore called on the Federal Government to increase it's budgetary allocation to the police force.

Amb. Timothy Nwachukwu in a statement made available to VAM News charged the Leadership of the Nigeria Police force to intensify its partnership with civil Society organizations in holding seminars, symposia, workshops and conferences aimed at changing the minds of its personnel on corruption as to enhance their integrity.

Presently the world is moving to an age where some disciplines and skills might be abolished and rendered useless, because of the advent of new technologies which keep on revolving as the day goes by.
Some jobs might just go on extinction, and so many workers become irrelevant because they have refused to grow with the age. A time is coming when Apps, computers, machines will be occupying over 50% of the workforce of a nation.

Technology is advancing to a height where your certificate minus technology will equal to zero. The ICT world is growing to that level of prominence.
No employer will want to keep a staff and pay every month, when he or she is aware that the duties of the said staff can be carried out with just one click from Google play store.

Friends, workers, etc be wise..be wise..be wise!!
If i may ask today, where are the manual typewriters of 10,20 years ago? They have found something else doing for themselves; for the ones that refuse to upgrade

SO WHAT SHOULD WE DO TO AVOID BEING VICTIMS?

Academic activities with sports added will help because when students engage in sporting activities in the schools, a lot of skills are developed.

Sunrise pupils, Corpers featured in an Inter house sport representing sunrise model school poe-tube in Ipokia local government: By Olorungbotemi Tunde Bright(VAM news gallery).
Sports are very important in education because there are a number of skills that the children will acquire in the course of preparing for sporting activities.’

Therefore, when children engage in sports, leadership skills, ethics, discipline, communication, resilience is developed.

VAM News in a statement, When students engage in sporting contest, it makes students learn how to win and lose gracefully because you have to develop resilience to pick yourself up after you have lost the competition.

Winning and losing during sporting activities teach students that outside school, in real life, you will win in some cases while you lose at some other times, but when you lose, you don’t give up, you get up and try again.

A case study of (Inter-house sports competition), we understand the value of good leadership as well as good following. ‘’Today, many students are going to lose but their houses are going to win, today, many houses are going to lose but their students will win something together.. It thus teaches team spirit and to some extent too, the spirit of collective responsibilities.

Sporting activities help people shed unnecessary weight. ‘’I can say that many of our students in Nigeria have lost weight in the course of march past rehearsal which is good for the heart.

Do you know that sport has one universal language that even the body understands.

Sports have one universal language that everybody speaks as could be seen in case of Special Olympic games for people physically challenged...

Renewable energy is increasingly becoming the alternative source to address poor electricity support in Nigeria.

In this interview with Ediri Ejoh, Chief Executive Officer of ZOLA Electric, Bill Lenihan, talks about the unique solution his company is bringing to Nigerians to ensure 24- hour power supply.

VAM News Says Zola Electric is coming into Nigeria at a time when we have issues with energy access.

What is ZOLA Electric bringing into the country. What are the implications of your coming into Nigeria at this time?

I think the problem in Nigeria is that there is not enough production and distribution of power for the population in Nigeria.
I think Nigeria is a perfect example of a country where there is massive energy deficit.

This is a fact that cannot be disputed.
Everybody living in Nigeria has this issue; every business has this issue. So, the question is what happens when people are having problem with energy or what happen where that exists?

It means people have to come up with their own energy. It means if you are a household, you are probably buying kerosene to light up a lantern or you get solar battery to attend to your power need, but if you are urban, you are either thinking of buying diesel generator or a lead acid inverter system.

A survivor of depression and suicide contemplation, Emmanuel Oluwasayomi Ahmadu, popularly known as Mr Voiceover, who is an international award winning graduating student of University of Benin, has charged those passing through difficult situation to remain calm and forget suicide thoughts, stressing that suicide can never be a solution to current predicament.

Emmanuel Oluwasayomi Ahmadu, popularly known as Mr Voiceover
Emmanuel, whose inspiring story on how he wrote O'Level examinations 17 times went viral on the internet confirmed by VoiceAirMedia, stated that every problem has solutions and suicidal thought is not the best approach in tackling seemingly difficult situation, revealed this while having a chat with our correspondence on the need to tackle the upsurge of depression and suicide in Nigeria through mental health awareness.

“No matter how much pain you’re experiencing right now, you’re not alone. Some of the finest, most admired, needed, and talented people have been where you are now. Many of us have thought about taking our own lives when we’ve felt overwhelmed by depression and devoid of all hope. But the pain of depression can be treated and hope can be renewed. No matter what your situation, there are people who need you, places where you can make a difference, and experiences that can remind you that life is worth living.

It takes real courage to face death and step back from the brink. You can use that courage to face life, to learn coping skills for overcoming depression, and for finding the strength to keep going.
“Remember, your emotions are not fixed, they are constantly changing. How you feel today may not be the same as how you felt yesterday or how you’ll feel tomorrow or next week. Your absence would create grief and anguish in the lives of friends and loved ones. There are many things you can still accomplish in your life. There are sights, sounds, and experiences in life that have the ability to delight and lift you, and that you would miss.

Your ability to experience pleasurable emotions is equal to your ability to experience distressing emotions.”
While reacting to question on how to tackle depression and suicidal thoughts, he said the first step in coping with depression is share disturbing thoughts and open up to persons who can share in our burden. According to him, “It may be a family member, friend, therapist, member of the clergy, teacher, family doctor, coach, or an experienced counselor at the end of a helpline. Find someone you trust and let them know how bad things are. Don’t let fear, shame, or embarrassment prevent you from seeking help. And if the first person you reach out to doesn’t seem to understand, try someone else. Just talking about how you got to this point in your life can release a lot of the pressure that’s building up and help you find a way to cope.”

He further revealed his plans and that of his Non-Governmental Organization, Mr Voiceover Mentorship Initiative to organize Community Mental Health Awareness And Sensitization Programme in the six geo-political zones of Nigeria in order to share his inspiring stories and motivate depressed youth, while urging government, well-meaning Nigerians and organizations to support his vision on reducing the rate of suicide in Nigeria, by 50 percent.
