The Chief Press Secretary to the Osun State Governor, Ismael Omipidan On Friday accused members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, as well as its sister union, the Non-Academic Staff Union of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso of being used to antagonise the state government.


Although, he did not mention those using the union against the state, but added that the state would resist every attempt to blackmail it.



Omipidan added that the unions had denied all the allegations it raised against the state when the governor met it recently.



Speaking on private radio programme in the state capital, he said the union is taking advantage of the governor’s civil and gentle nature, as well as the fact that he runs from controversy however little, gathered by VAM Online News.



“I will advise the unions not to take it for granted. Last week Wednesday, we read in the paper that ASUU had singled out Osun state government for being responsible for the delay of their salaries.

Six movies have been selected for honours at the final of the 2019 UK Nollywood Film Festival (UKNFF), organised by the UK Nollywood Producers Guid.

The festival, scheduled to hold between Oct. 4 and Oct. 5 in London, is aimed at empowering and showcasing the work of independent filmmakers, especially those from the African descent.


Marc Adebesin, Publicity Director of UK Nollywood Producers Guild,in a statement listed the films by different directors as “Dear Bayo by Inoh Umoren”, “Nimbe by Seun Dania”, “The Birth by Abbey Lanre” and “Last Request by James Abinibi“, “A date with my husband by Okey Zubelu” and “Kissing Shadow by Chinedu Omorie”.



Adebesin quoted President of the Guild, Mr Malcolm Benson as saying that the festival, in its 2nd edition, was to appreciate and highlight the resilience shown by Nollywood filmmakers and other stakeholders in the industry.



“As a community, we need to remember where we come from, how we started and look forward to where we are going.


“It will take discipline, courage, consistency and enthusiasm amongst other things to build an industry.Though it may seem far fetched, rough and rugged, it is by no means inevitable,” he said.



According to Adebesin, awards will be presented in four categories – best African Feature Film, Best African Indigenous (Native Language), Best African Documentary and Best African Short Film.



Benson said CEO of Benalex Media, a film production company based in the United Kingdom would also be honoured at the event.



Benson has produced a number of films such as “Phantom of Fury“, “Forget The Pact“, “Ortega and His Enemies“, “Gold Dust Ikenna“, “Shenanigans“, “Return of The Don“ and “Lads in The City.“


“His most recent film, “Return of The Don”, was screened at Cannes (Mache Du Film) and also hit no. 23 on UK Box Office chart,“ he said.



According to him, the film has also won five Film Festival Awards, including the Hollywood International Moving Pictures Film Festival Award of Recognition, Canada International Film Festival Award of Excellence.


Others are, “Depth of Field International Film Festival Award of Exceptional Merit“, and“ Accolade International Film Festival Award“.



He further disclosed that “Return of The Don“ received over 40 Film Award nominations so far, including “the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards“ and “Festival International De Film du Cannes.“

President Muhammadu Buhari has advised Nigerians living in South Africa not to operate small businesses if the indigenes will not accept them.



In a joint media briefing with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa on Thursday, Buhari urged Nigerians to abide by the law in any country they choose to settle, Obtained by VAM online News.


“We have discussed it at great length with the president on one to one basis. For those Nigerians that are here or elsewhere, you can recall what happened in Ghana of recent.


“It’s a question of competition at very low levels where there are barbers or they have small shops and they feel that it should belong exclusively to the indigenous people of that locality or that it is open to people from all over the world.


“I think Nigerians know the stand of the leadership that when you are in Rome, you do what the Romans do. When you in a country, you study the people and the laws and you get yourself a line of business with what the authorities and people accept there.


“If you do anything outside the people’s agreement, eventually they will not accept it. This is a very well known thing. The competition in all countries with the growth of population especially in developing countries is going to be keener.


“It means that our respective security agencies must be very alert. They must infiltrate the community, know their thinking and make sure that they don’t allow violence to escalate.”


In his remarks, Ramaphosa said his administration would create incentives to attract “slightly larger Nigerian companies” to improve job creation and correct the present imbalance of having big South African businesses in Nigeria and smaller Nigerian businesses in South Africa.



“We want to welcome more Nigerian businesses to operate in our space. South Africa has a number of large corporations that operate in Nigerian markets; in the South African market, many of them are small and medium businesses.


“We want to address this imbalance so that we have more slightly larger Nigerian companies coming to operate here and we have various incentives as a government.



We will be available to them and make our ease of doing business easier.”



Both countries signed 32 trade and cooperation agreements as part of activities to calm frayed diplomatic nerves.

A group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Aketi Youth/Women Mobiization Group (AYWMG) has said it is very optimistic that the scorecard of the state Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi, SAN, will be the yardstick to determine his re-election in the 2020 Governorship poll in the state. 


The group State Coordinator, Hon. Babajide Akin-Thomas, who stated this while chatting with reporters in Akure, the state capital revealed that the group, which is one of the political groups mobilising for Akeredolu second term is elated that the governor is making its work easier through his achievements in term of project execution. 




Akin-Thomas, who was the  House of Representatives candidate, under the platform of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) in Ondo West/East federal constituency during the 2019 General elections, before joining APC, said he can boldly say that Akeredolu has performed credibility well than his predecessor. 




Besides, he noted that the major opposition party in the state, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is now having a sleepless night because Akeredolu has blocked all the loopholes to give room for reasonable criticism of this current government.

THE National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) on Tuesday the agency had sealed no fewer than 10 pure water producing factories in the state, VAM reports.

The NAFDAC Coordinator in Osun, Pharm Babatunde Yusuf, said that the sachet water factories were closed in Osun for allegedly contravening the agency’s regulations.


VAM learnt that the agency took the action following tip-offs that the factories were operating illegally, adding that the factories were closed as part of efforts to protect public health.

The five lecturers were freed by their abductors on Saturday night after payment of N5 million ransom, according to the leaders of ASUP in a statement made available to VAM.


A source from the institution told reporters on condition of anonymity that the abducted leaders regained freedom on Saturday night after the payment of the said ransom.


Opadijo Oluyide, the ASUP Chairman, his Secretary, Mr. Gbenga Alayande and three others were kidnapped on Thursday night while returning from Saki.


The union leaders had attended the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of unions in all the six Oyo state owned tertiary institutions at Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki.
He said that the ransom was contributed by members of staff of the institution to secure the release of the leaders.

Controversial Nigerian musician, Azeez Fashola better known as Naira Marley will be back in court in October 22nd for the commencement of his fraud trial.



Naira Marley was arrested on his birthday, March 10th 2019 by operatives of EFCC on allegations of advance fee scam and related cyber crimes.



After his arrest, the anti-graft agency filed 11 charges against Naira Marley bordering on alleged cybercrime and identity theft.


The alleged crimes were in contravention of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act and the Cyber Crimes Act, which the artiste risks seven years in jail if found guilty.


The charges with suit number FHC/L/178C/19 were filed before a Lagos State High Court. 10 days after his arrest, Naira Marley was arraigned before Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The Ondo State House of Assembly has agitated for creation of new primary and secondary schools to meet the needs of growing populace, VAM has reports.

Members of the House Committee on Education, Science and Technology spoke on Thursday during a familiarisation visit to the Ministry of Education.


Members noted the growing rural populace cutting across the three geopolitical zones of the state añd the need for them to access quality education.


Hon Jamiu Sulaimon Maito representing Akoko North West Constituency 1 observed that communities across the state are fast growing and expanding hence the need for creation of more schools in order to cater for their educational needs.


The lawmakers equally observed the dwindling human resources in the state public schools and stressed the need for recruitment of more teachers to fill the obvious vacancies in public schools adding that this would further enhance the standard of education in the state.


They advised on redistribution of personnel especially in the urban areas to cater for the interest of the rural populace as a short time and immediate solution to shortage of manpower in rural schools.


The lawmakers equally stressed the need to strengthen the state scholarship board in order to meet it's financial obligation to students in tertiary institutions.


Chairman of the the committee Hon. Toluwani Borokini lauded the achievements recorded by the Education Ministry in view of the dwindling resources of the state. He encouraged the Commissioner to carry the House along in carrying out the assignments of the Ministry.


Honourable Borokini equally called on the Ministry to check high-handedness and other excesses of school administrators in the interest of the students and parents.


The Commissioner for Education, Mr Olufemi Agagu had earlier outlined the numerous achievements of the Ministry calling for unbridled collaboration with the lawmakers in order to move the education sector further.


Mr Agagu thanked members of the committee for the visit which he noted was a demonsration of their avowed commitment to duty and unrelenting efforts at ensuring quality education service delivery in the state.

THE Youth Wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on the government to ensure 40 per cent youths representation in governance.

The National Youth Leader of APC, Mr Sadiq Abubakar, made the call on Wednesday after meeting with APC Youths Support Group in Abuja, VAM has obtained.


“We are expecting 40 per cent youths representation in governance, we are expecting appointments for heads of parastatals and agencies.


“We haven’t found much of our own representation in the newly constituted Federal Executive Council,” Abubakar said.


He said that the meeting was to share ideas on how they could come out with economic policies to better the lives of Nigerian youths.


According to him, there was need for an economic blueprint that will discourage youths from working abroad.

Two suspects of the Process and Industrial Development Ltd on Thursday pleaded guilty before the Federal High Court in Abuja to charges of fraud and tax evasion instituted against them in respect of the contract leading to the recent controversial judgment of a British court empowering the firm to seize about $9.6bn worth of Nigerian assets.


The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Thursday arraigned P&ID Ltd, Virgin Island, its Nigerian affiliate, P&ID Nigeria Ltd on 11 counts of fraud and tax evasion.


While P&ID Ltd, Virgin Island was represented by its Commercial Director, Mohammad Kuchazi, P&ID Nigeria Limited was represented by Adamu Usman, who is also a lawyer.


Both men pleaded guilty to all the 11 counts read to them before Justice Inyang Ekwo on Thursday. Kuchazi was represented by his lawyer, Dandison Akurunwua, while Usman represented himself.

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the programme of activities marking Nigeria’s 59th Independence Anniversary to be observed with low-key on October 1, 2019.

Director, Information, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Willie Bassey, said President Buhari gave approval to the programme of activities on Wednesday.



According to the activities lined up for the occasion to be kicked up from 23rd September, there would be Juma’at prayer at the national mosque and interdenominational Christian service at National Christian Centre.


There would also be a National Youth Entrepreneurship Empowerment Summit and Youth Concert at International Conference Centre and National Park respectively.

As reactions, mainly from the opposition driven Coalition of United Political Parties(CUPPS) and other passing comments on different media platforms,continue to trail the judgment of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal,which dismissed the petition of Atiku Abubaka and Peoples Democratic Party against the declaration of Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressive Congress for want of proof, the National publicity secretary of Emerging Leaders Forum of Nigeria (ELFON); Hon. Chukwunonye Irouno yesterday in Owerri, the Imo state capital while speaking to newsmen, x-rayed the judgment and educated the public on vital issues surrounding the said judgement.
Below were Hon. Irouno's submissions:
I hope we are not allowing the deliberately merchandised brainwashing propaganda of people of extreme political interest to displace our natural sense of judgment in this matter.
It is either most commentators have not grabbed the true content of this well considered judgment produced by the consensual decision of five high ranking Justices of the panel or they simply chose to join the bandwagon of biased people of interest.



Take a look at the definite delivery of the panel on this subject of secondary school certificate and see if you can validly puncture it.


"If the 2nd Respondent (Buhari) has not presented his secondary school certificate to the Army during his commission, where did the Army get its academic qualifications quoted in form 199 by the Army? There is no doubt that the 2nd respondent is not only qualified but also eminently to contest for the said office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria". Again,
" Whether the name is spelt "U" or "O", in as much as the name Buhari belongs indisputably to the 2nd despondent, the certificate belongs to him".


Points in issue:

1.President Buhari submitted an affidavit where he swore that he submitted his secondary school certificate to the Nigerian Army,in whose custody same should be,having lost the said certificate during war or in one of his military adventures.

2.The Army didn't boldly or evidently say that Buhari never submitted his certificate to them but that it could not be found in their custody (a case of misplacement of the document).

3.The President applied to WAEC, the body in charge of secondary schools examination and issuance of certificate, which in compliance, reissued certificate to Buhari, having considered his claim.

3.The WAEC while issuing the certificate, wrote Muhammed instead of Mohammed and this discrepancy in the letters 'U' and 'O' was raised.
How can the judgment quoted above be said to mean that the Judges used Affidavit to banish Certificate, as being brandished on the internet by Atiku supporters?

Is Affidavit no longer an age long legal instrument for validation of missing items in Nigeria or is Buhari above natural hazards of war?

As a human being, can't Buhari lose or misplace something, necessitating an affidavit?
Is the minor discrepancy in the use of just a letter in spelling one's name significant enough to invalid his certificate, especially when there's no other Mohammed dragging the said certificate with him?

It is in the light of all these that I urge us to take a closer look at the judgment before jumping into stereotyped emotional conclusions.


ELFON spokesperson further stated that "likes are treated by likes" according to the motto of homeopathy. If the plaintiff didn't first mobilize a flood of Senior Advocates, the respondent wouldn't have followed suit, for actions and reactions are mainly equal and opposite.

The People of Oyo State will, next Monday, 16th September, 2019,* know who exactly won the March 9, 2019 guber election between Governor Seyi Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Oloye Bayo Adelabu.Adelabu, Makinde

After many weeks of legal fireworks, the guber election petition tribunal recently accepted the final written addresses filed by Makinde, Adelabu, PDP and INEC.



Adopting his final written address, the counsel to INEC, Akinolu Kehinde (SAN), urged the tribunal to cancel the petition for being grossly unmeritorious and lacking in substance.



Kehinde had said that the petitioners erroneously put the burden of proof on INEC whereas the responsibility of proof lies on the petitioners.



He had said that the petitioners complained of irregularities in 1,334 polling units and only called 38 polling unit agents out of which majority of them confirmed that the election conducted by INEC complied strictly with the Electoral Act.



Kehinde had said that it was the responsibility of the petitioners to bring at least one witness from the 1,334 polling units, they complained about and urged the tribunal to dismiss the petition.



Makinde’s counsel, Dr Omyechi Ikpeazu (SAN), had said that the reliefs sought by the petitioners were faulty and evidences of the other witnesses not called amount to hearsay and urged the court to cancel the petition.



Adopting his final written address, counsel to PDP, Nathaniel Oke (SAN), had urged the tribunal to dismiss the petition on the ground of inadequacy of evidence and for lacking in merit.



But the counsel to Adelabu and APC, Yusuf Alli (SAN), had urged the court to hold that the petition was meritorious and that other witness not called have their statement properly laid before the tribunal.



Alli had said that under the law the number of witnesses called cannot override what had been properly laid before the tribunal.

Upon assumption of office on May 29, 2019 as Governor of Imo state in a highly controversial manner that is expected to be resolved by the Court, the first official task embarked by Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha's administration barely 24 hours after inauguration and one week of being commissioned by the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, was the demolition of AKACHI Tower, a colossal spiralling conical artifact of over 40 feet with a spiral ramp that Rochas Okorocha administration also left behind, VAM reports.


In a statement made available to VAM by Michael Anyanwu, Due to the spiral architectural design of this landmark edifice built on a reclaimed dumpsite that was abandoned by previous administrations, the structure can be climbed by going round it; while those who get up there can enjoy breathtaking pleasurable aerial view of the city of Owerri.


Apart from serving as one of the tourist attractions in the state which bequeaths serious economic value on it, the gigantic tower with a golden hand sculpture on the Zenith, symbolising the hand of God over the state, sits on an expansive plot of land, reserved for religious purposes as even Books of the Bible are inscribed on its walls.


When they had wanted to bring down the tower the first time, the general backlashes and criticisms by the people of the state condemning the action which they found repulsive considering the fact that it was built with public funds compelled them to flee the site but not without doing irredeemable damages to the foundational base of the structure and demolishing some parts of it.


Obviously not satisfied that they could not completely demolish the tower earlier, they resorted to secret cutting of the gigantic structure bit-by-bit especially at night until they completely pulldown what they had left of the edifice after their initial attempt to totally destroy it.


However, it is yet to be understood why the Ihedioha’s government is not comfortable with the tower since he assumed office as governor and this brings us to the pertinent questions which remain largely unanswered. What exactly could be responsible for the desperation exhibited by Gov. Emeka Ihedioha’s administration on destroying Akachi Tower with all the biblical verses and arts around it?


Why being so resolute and hellbent on pulling down the beautiful edifice built with public fund with the purpose of serving touristic, economic and religious benefits to the state?


The truth is that no occultist or man who has sold his soul to the devil will allow a religious artifact with biblical verses and arts inscribed all over it to stand. It is not possible unless such man is delivered of demonic possession.


Looking at their antecedents for the 12years they were in power in the state before Imo people rejected them in 2011 through the polls and brought in Sen. Rochas Okorocha as governor to liberate the state, I believe you would not want to recall that ugly memory of the gory era of incessant ritual and political killings. But an understanding of this fact will help you appreciate the reason for the desperation they are exhibiting to have the Akachi Tower off their sight.


The imaginative claim by them that Akachi is a shrine with diabolic or occultism representation not only reveals them as people battling with guilty conscience but also exposes their iniquitous hearts. Psalms 73:7 made this clear that "from their callous hearts come iniquity; their evil imagination have no limits". And for such people, Proverbs 4:16 said "they cannot rest until they do evil" and John 3:20 revealed that "everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed".


They cannot allow Akachi stand in the state because it symbolizes the hand of God and 1John 1:5 made it clear that "...God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all". It follows, therefore, that they have a good understand that light and darkness can never co-exist but ultimately darkness will always bow to the superiority of the existence of light. Even the bible reassured in John 1:5 that “the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it”.


You can now understand why Gov. Ihedioha's administration has become so restless having the Akachi Tower in place in the state. The same explanation goes to why they abandoned operating from the Government House for fear of the presence of the VICTORY CHAPEL built there and dedicated to God Almighty by Okorocha's administration.


Even if without conceding that Akachi Tower is a shrine, should he not have engaged powerful clergymen of God to pray and defuse whatever demonic powers considering the fact that there are no powers superior to that of God Almighty?


If we must tell ourselves the truth, we need not be told that some dark minds that cannot rest until evil thrives in the land have taken over the helm of affairs of our dear state and are becoming rebellious against God our creator in whose hands Sen. Rochas Okorocha placed the state when he was governor.

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that its 2018 Batch C, (Stream One) Corps members will be passing out on Thursday, 3rd of October, 2019, VAM has obtained.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC),on Wednesday, confirmed that it monitored governorship primary elections conducted by 59 political parties in Kogi and 64 in Bayelsa, VAM has gathered.

The commission gave the confirmation in separate documents for the primary elections results it made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Abuja.


The documents made available to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) indicated the names of political parties, date of the primaries, the mode of primaries adopted, winners, gender and remarks, names of aspirants and votes scored.


The documents also revealed that in Kogi, INEC monitored the primaries conducted by the All Progressives Congress (APC) which produced Yahaya Bello as well as Musa Wada as winner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary in the state.


Also on the list were Abubakar Mohammed as winner of primary by Accord, Mrs Harirat Yakubu for Labour Party; Ephraim Medurin, Alliance for Democracy (AD); Nathasa Apoti, Social Democratic Party (SDP) and 53 others.


It also recorded that the APC primaries it monitored in Bayelsa produced Lyon David as the winner and Sen. Diri Douye as winner of that of the PDP.


It recognised Imomotimi Simeon as the winner of the primary conducted by the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Okala Azibola for Peoples Redemption Party (PRP); and Mrs Oguara Nengimonyo of the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP).


The document indicated that only three women out of 56 emerged as candidates from Kogi and five females out of 64 candidates in Bayelsa for the Nov. 16 elections. Meanwhile, INEC Director of Publicity and Voter Education, Mr Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi, said that they were just results of primaries monitored by INEC, not candidates list for the two states elections.

Osaze-Uzzi said that the documents were just results of parties primaries monitored by INEC.


“kindly note for purposes of clarity and to avoid any ambiguity that the lists above are not the list of candidates contesting the respective governorship elections. “They are the results of political parties primaries monitored by the commission. “Some parties may chose, for whatever reason, not to sponsor any candidate even after conducting primaries,” he said.

It was harrowing experience for some Nigerians who were airlifted from the OR Tambo Airport, Johannesburg.

Their flight, which was scheduled to take off at 9:10 am, was delayed for about seven hours. Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, confirmed that immigration issues triggered the delay.

But the many hours of waiting and anxiety ended as the Boeing 777 aircraft belonging to Air Peace landed last night at the Lagos Airport.


The aircraft touched down at 9.37pm and taxied to the premises of the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO) via the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, with returnees recounting tales of regrets.


Relying on the flight manifest, Mrs. Dabiri-Erewa said 231 males and 86 females were preparing to return home yesterday.


As they alighted from the aircraft they expressed bitter experiences in the hands of their South African hosts.


They were received at a temporary camp opened for their profiling by Mrs Dabiri-Erewa, who said the government has available to each of them N40, 000.00 recharge card to enable them communicate with their family members.


In appreciation of the gestures, the returnees rose in euphoria to sing the national anthem.


An Osun State indigene who identified himself as Saheed, lamented how he was sacked from work for being a Nigerian.


He narrated how he was subjected to discrimination despite working in Pretoria for more than five years.


Another returnee from Edo State, who identified himself as Anthony Joshua, described his trauma as unfortunate.


He called on the government to cut ties with South Africa because of the maltreatment of Nigerians.


Chairman of Air Peace, Allen Onyema, said the offer to air lift the trapped Nigerians was the least he could do to assist.


He lamented how South African authorities delayed the flight for over 12 hours just to punish Nigerians.


In her remark, Mrs. Dabiri Erewa praised the airline for its patriotic act.


As at 10.45 pm, the profiling of the returnees was ongoing by officials of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).


Mrs. Dabiri-Erewa spoke of an arrangement with the Bank of Industry (BoI) to offer entrepreneurship programmes to those willing to learn.


She said: “The BoI will also be here to offer some entrepreneurship programmes and some support to start a small business and there would be some stipends for transportation to take you home and we will profile them and for those who want to get any training, they will decide what kind of training they want to do and the Bank of industry will be there to provide it.”


According to Mrs. Dabiri-Erewa, 320 Nigerians were scheduled to be evacuated yesterday.


It was learnt that a second plane would arrive in South Africa tomorrow to bring the second batch of 320.


Six hundred and forty Nigerians signed to be evacuated back home following unending attacks targeted at foreigners in South Africa.


Heidi Giokos, a reporter with eNCA who has been monitoring events at the airport in South Africa, also tweeted that the plane took off at 3:30pm, South African time.

She wrote: “188 Nigerians have boarded the @flyairpeace plane.

The plane was brought in for Nigerians who wanted the evacuation plan offered by @flyairpeace. The board is now ready to take off. It was scheduled to leave at 9:10 am. Over 7 hour delay.”


According to her, the delay was caused by cases of expired documents from some Nigerians going through the South African immigration.


She also reported earlier that some Nigerians were not allowed to board as they couldn’t provide travel documents for their children.

The management of Ede Polytechnic, Osun State shut down the school at the academic board meeting held on Tuesday 10th September 2019, the School Managenent has directed the students to proceed on a compulsory mid second semester break for 2018/2019 Academic Session with immediate effect, VAM has learnt.


Correspondent, Adejayan Gsong had reported that the Academic Staff Union(ASUP), Ede Polytechnic chapter had on Friday passed vote of no confidence on the School Management for condoning indiscipline following an alleged mistreatment of a staff by the president of the students’ union of the institution, Rufai Opeyemi Lukman.


However, in a swift reaction, the union congress met today with the school Governing council. While there were indications that the meeting ended in a deadlock.


Consequently, the Authority of the School has directed students to vacate Halls of Residence latest 2:00pm on Tuesday 10th September, 2019.
