Bringing out facts..not like the propaganda, lies & deceit some jealous & tribalistic people are known for..

Very good thread grin grin

When the crime statistics came out this year, it turns out that the south east was the safest region in Nigeria yet on nairaland you will think it’s a war zone

Kidnapping is the biggest growing
Industry in Muslim northern Nigeria and
they are exporting it to other regions of
the country..

The industry is controlled by the deadly
brothers of Buhari and his other associates,
boko haram..

During his time, these perpetrators were
untouchable. But now, Tinubu go touch
them.

Well-done Buhari👏👏👏👏

But if you follow Nigerian news and social media, you will think the south east is the worst place affected by kidnapping. Anything negative that happens in the south east is over broadcasted. Some people celebrate as if they are having a party just for the chance to taunt igbos.

the funny thing is that a kidnap and ransom payment in the north robs off on the end consumer of they produce, food, unlike those in the south.

A lot of farmers in the north have suffered with kidnapping yet it doesn’t make the news. Northern lives should matter too.

So the south west has a higher rate of kidnap than the south east, in fact if you go by region the south east has the least rate of kidnap, but you see these ronu people they always try to make it look as if the south east is the most unsafe region in Nigeria, they begin to compare the south east with the north, their hypocrisy stinks, they will come and say why are Igbos leaving the south east, naturally Igbos travel to other places to explore, that is why they say if you go to any place and you don't see an Igbo man, run away from there...

South west - 168

South east - 154

I have warned people of the south east to stop swallowing every negative news about them. Everyone exaggerates everything happening in the south east. Let’s be wise as Ndigbo.

Yobe is the best state in Nigeria.

Good people.

They are the real children of God. They are not tempted by the the things of this world.

I think Yobe state own is because of lack of data. Not because it’s safe.

Both the Nigerian mainstream media and social media tend to focus on one particular region and ignore the rest.

Enough is enough.

I know in your fantasy world, igbos in the south south hate igbos from the south east but don’t worry reality will hit you soon like a rock. Just pray to your god that Nigeria remains together because once things fall apart everyone will remember his fathers house.

So you are against Niger Delta Republic ?

Not at all. I believe in the right to self determination of every group.

But I am against any Niger delta republic that doesn’t give every group in it the right to choose where they belong. There needs to be a referendum organized by the United Nations or a neutral party where every group in the Niger Delta chooses if they want to be a part of it.

If it’s done this way and the will of the people is respected, I have no problem with Niger delta republic.

As long as the thread is against that that ethnic group, rules & Regulations can go to hell.. grin

You wonder why propaganda, lies & deceit against thesame group is immediately pushed to the frontpage

We complain about evil politicians. Just imagine if people on nairaland are given real power in society. Imagine the kind of havoc they will cause. They make laws that they themselves violate.

So much hate in a group of individual...Are they ever even happy?

This is not the issue at hand. You are going off tangent.

The main issue is that Nairaland openly violated a rule that it always claimed for years to hold so precious.

Yet you are discussing something else.

In life, the people who hate you use legalities and technicalities to place a rule against you. They will always point to those rules as an excuse why they treat you unjustly.

But the moment those same rules get in their way, they are quick to violate those rules.

A thread clearly promoting secession which for years has been against nairaland policy was boldly pushed to the front page yesterday on Nairaland.

https://www.nairaland.com/7811822/nigerians-united-niger-delta-union

When I opened the thread and read the contents, I immediately knew why nairaland was willing to violate its own policy just to push such a divisive thread to front page.

It was meant to target a certain group and it did the job they wanted it to do.

So why then were you raising unnecessary dust out of nothing? It means you didn't even read my comment well. I've been to both markets and I observed that Ariaria was much bigger as most people in Port Harcourt are used to Ariaria. I went to Onitsha during the Osisikannkwu era and based on what I heard expected something bigger so I was curious as to what's left and people brought to my attention that the adjoining streets with plazas and banks are part of it.

Never raised any unnecessary dust. I think you are mistaken.

Looking at the traditional spaces, Ariaria is bigger than main market but both of us know that is not the reality. The reality is that Main Market is likely two and half times in size because over the years, surrounding neighborhoods have been swallowed by the market. I even have a personal example of my Aunty who converted her residence to stores.

But that's exactly what someone said before the argument ensued. Actual main market is not bigger than Ariaria but it spilled into residential streets

Yes, I totally agree with that person. My aunt and her husband were literally swallowed by main market encroachment.

In the 1990s when we visited them, it looked like a regular residential neighborhood. Today that place is now part of main market. They have made so much money from trader’s because they had no choice but to convert their house to stores.

I just saw a measurement and they're almost equal but Onitsha has a slight edge. daalu

Onitsha main market is actually bigger if you look past the traditional space of main market. Onitsha main market has a spillover effect which Ariaria doesn’t have much of. A lot of surrounding spaces around Main market have been converted to market. If you consider that factor, then Main market is much bigger in reality.

I have been told people in Aba don't like publicity. Businesses dont want you to take pictures and film them, and most don't use social media. All that is left is random people on Nairaland trying to disparage Aba and Aba has no defense against these people because it's own self promotion efforts are low.

I totally agree. We need to change this as Ndigbo. Everything these days is based on social media perspective.

A smaller area with irregular shape can have longer perimeter. Going by your photos Ariaria is twice or thrice larger. However I made my comment based on walking around both markets . When I asked people around said the adjoining streets with peoples houses and plazas are still regarded as part of Main Market.

This is true the traditional main market is actually smaller than Ariaria. But because of the outgrowth of main market to surrounding areas, main market is bigger.

I have said this before, Abians publicly de-market their state for reasons best known to them... No way, Abia was and is still not the worst state in Nigeria, but its people made Nigerians see Abia as a failed state because of the hatred they had for their past governors. I guess, u are from Abia state, and ur love for Otti has suddenly made u realise that Abia is not as bad as portrayed, because u wish Otti good and positive publicity, and u suddenly want us to have a rethink on the impression u guys gave us about ur state. I tell u, such bad impression u people painted about Abia will be very very difficult to change, have u noticed that Abia is usually used as an example of a failed state in Nigeria? Moral of the the lesson, we shouldn't crucify people unjustly because of the hatred we have for them, speak positive of them when they perform and criticise them constructively when they derail.

I am not from Abia state. I am from delta state but grew up in Aba

Very superb urban planning and layouts.

Once the roads and drainages are in order, Aba will definitely be one of the best cities to live and set up a business.

Geometric is getting ready to power Aba for 24 hours in few months. This is according to Barth Nnaji recent interview with Otti.

I will be the first to admit that Aba is living below its potential.

But when you compare Aba to so many other Nigerian cities, the difference is very clear.

I still don’t understand the level of hate that city received on nairaland even though, it still looked better than so many other Nigerian cities.

A city may have bad roads in highly trafficked areas but those areas don’t define the whole city.

Thankfully Otti is fixing those roads but I also give some credit to ikpeazu who also worked on some roads even though he started late.

Besides Aba is not a state capital.
