so much celebration for JUNE12 and yet , the attempt made to name UNILAG after the man was not welcomed . hypocrites !!!

There are three key differences here that Buhari doesn't seem to realise (or is unwilling to acknowledge):

1. The Niger Delta militants (admit it or not) had legitimate grievances and aspirations with regard to the (non-)utilization of the oil wealth (grievances which I share) while Boko Haram is a full-blown insurgency seeking to Islamise their region if not the whole country (aspirations which are ridiculous, to put it mildly).

2. The acts of violence in the ND were mostly limited to kidnappings and abductions, after which the victims were released. Boko Haram, however, have gone out on a deliberate killing spree, bombing, shooting and raiding banks, police stations, drinking spots, the UN building, Mogadishu barracks etc. Heck, they even tried to hoist their own flag!!!


3. The Niger Delta boys accepted amnesty (well at least most of them did) but BH has obviously foreclosed that possibility, despite the obvious willingness of the FG to grant it to them. So what gives?

I'm not denying that the security forces have been quite heavy-handed in their approach to the BH issue (even from the time of Yusuf Mohammed) but we CANNOT keep comparing the Niger Delta militants (apples) with Boko Haram (grapes).
They're as different as night and day.

This thieves have not told us what they will do differently. Listing Nigeria's problem has never translated into solution . Tell us what practical steps and figures of what you will do differently .Please be reminded that we do not have public water supply in Lagos since ACN has been in power . Apart from planting flower , i have not seen anything ACN has done with the huge resources available to them in Lagos . A road as small as Ozumba Mbadiwe has been going on for over one year with no end in Sight and with attendant traffic that we are being forced to go through everyday . A road of less than 100m meters takes more than a year to complete and this thieves are here making noise . To crown it all , they have carefully avoided the roads that truely needs attention to go and resurface the ones that do not need serious attention,just to appear busy . I have also seen the wonders going on in Nassarawa , the only state governed by CPC. University students get killed because they protested that they do not have water . PLEASE TELL US WHAT YOU WILL DO DIFFERENTLY AND STOP THIS LONG STORY

Why shouldn't a service providing company (public or not) have a functional feedback mechanism or Is the government doing the citizen a favour by providing electricity that we pay dearly for? The hithertho erratic power supply in my area has been off for the past 48 hrs and the noise of generators is killing. To avoid going crazy I drove around from Ipaja where I reside through Akowonjo to egbeda and everywhere was in Total darkness. I asked my friends who live in other areas of Lagos and the story is pretty much the same.
BLACKOUT! The most annoying part is that no one seems to know what the problem is with PHCN. What a Country!
