You are one of those who does not want Nigeria to move forward!!
Really?!....whether I support it or not, what will be will be.

I will prefer regional governance and policing, although State governments will still have some influence over them and their activities, but it won't be as total as State policing.

I mean, governors have already under their thumbs tiers and arms of govt, imagine now empowering them fully.

By the way The Governor should have known better and called the IG directly rather than tell the CSP not to follow his boss order... Plus is the Gov trying to disobey the Supreme Court Judgement?
Exactly an example my point. None of them knows the limit of his power and authority.

I agree that the benefits outweigh the downsides, but still, I am just afraid of the abuse of power on political foes and even the masses.

Dollarseeker:
you see why state police is very important. How can a police man be disregarding the order of the governor.

State police will reduce police brutality, Fulani herdsmen menace and federal government sponsored killings in a state.

Nigerians should clamour for the establishment of state police controlled by the governors and not a federal authority.
Wait until State governors start harassing and persecuting their perceived enemies with State police. Even in Countries like US State police and Federal agents often clash on jurisdiction and all, not to talk of Nigeria where everything seem to be upside down.

As bright and welcoming the idea is, I don't think we are mature enough as a country to have it, it will be grossly abused... State actors in power will see it as a weapon

Apart from the fact that she's half oyinbo, this girl is a regular with Leicester, a team that has conceded 23 goals from 10 games this season. I really do hope she's not another Balogun.

I welcome and wish her the very best

Yeah, he scored a paltry 37 Goals for Nigeria and he is our All time goalscorer!

Dat record will last for probably the next 30 years b4 it will be Broken! smiley

Simply because of Age cheating!

The likes of Emmanuel Emenike, Obafemi Martins, Yakubu Aiyegbeni, etc never got close because while claiming 25 yrs, they would be 33 or 34! undecided sad

The Worst is Julius Aghahowa who claimed to be 20 years in Japan/korea Wc of 2002! shocked

A player who had done some Police job saying Michael Owen was older than him then! sad
As in ehn grin

I recall Femi Opabunmi's (the supposed youngest player in that squad) 2nd younger brother celebrating his 24th birthday, while Femi was at the U17 World Cup claiming 16 years old. Little wonder that one fizzled out very quickly. Winning just 3 caps for the Super Eagles and just 36 Club caps in Europe despite his u17 exploits. grin grin

Shut up son, the Afcon was moved away from the summer only because of the weather conditions won’t be favorable. It would be at the heart of the rainy season and no one wants a disruption of the tournament. Get your facts straight.

I said what I said
Of course, a child's up bringing matters a lot in life. Goes a long way to show how you were brought up, I guess you were always corrected with kicks, sticks and rods, hence, your disrespect. It is understandable, but still, I am not responsible for your frustration in life, so shift abeg. All I typed was my own personal opinion on the probable cause.

If you will be humble enough to learn...you could have just typed... " I beg to differ...I think you are wrong on this...I stand to be corrected, but I think the main reason why..."

You don't even know the status and age of the other person at the other end, but since Nairaland is anonymous (as far as you are not using a public WiFi, don't be too confident), you can just tell anybody to shut up? He even put "son" grin

Continue you hear, it will soon catch up. grin grin

Trust me, if I were to be a big player, I will so much sabotage the team throughout the duration of AFCON ehn, that they will wish they had released me to represent my country. grin

But seriously, can anyone stop the likes of Mane or Saleh? Hell no! But since these guys are rising stars, hence, the rubbish stunt these idiotic clubs are pulling.

And again, are these guys really passionate about playing for their country at the AFCON? But I guess nothing will stop them were it to be the World Cup. Well it is always money over patriotism...And again,
he who pays the piper dictates the tune.

For those bashing CAF for the timing of the AFCON, you can't allow it take place when any other major global or continental showpiece is holding.. Low attendances, coverage, and viewership will mar it, hence, marketing and financial implications. Take the Asian Cup for example.

Even if CAF wants to move it to the summer, it will mean having to omit one AFCON, to make it fit without clashing with the world Cup and Euros. Except they want to make it every 4 years and in odd years too.

Amadju Pinnick is running our football down the Hill.
In his last few years, we have all seen how Nigeria's football has collapsed.
Dude is only interested in under-the-table deals with all these useless Coaches he peddles.

Anyone who calls himself a Coach and can do 50-50 deals with Pinnick and his Corrupt group in the NFF, will be recommended to Coach Nigeria.
Let to me, l will invest all these money and five years training on three local Coaches and improve our local league, to improve Nigeria's football.
Unfortunately, FIFA has made it very difficult for Countries to take charge of their Football, knowing how corrupt African 'Leaders' are.

FIFA itself is a Corruption-ridden body and we have seen how it operates in the recent past.
You perfectly nailed it my brother, and it is so so sad. The FAs run to governments for funding, yet, the same govt have no power over them.

An average manager from my own perspective.

Mourinho obviously recommended him from nationalistic point.

As a formal forward, it's expected he'll promote fluid, attacking football.

I really hope we succeed with him.
His short short stints should mean something to you...how can an average coach be spending less than or a year on a job. In fact, he's the coach with the worst resume I have ever seen. I am so sad about this developnent right now

Power shift is between north and south. The presidency has never been microzoned and will never be microzoned.

If the SE like, let them come out and contest against the rest of the south for the presidential tickets of the two major parties or continue to issue useless threads up and down. The rest of the south will contest and do everything possible to ensure power is shifted to the south in 2023.

Arrogant for calling out lateness on the part of recruiters?
Arrogant for expressing his displeasure at them not disclosing the pay when they knew they were hiring for experienced class, knowing fully well money will be the deciding factor for many applicants?

I'm sure the applicant has taught the recruiter one or two lessons so they can do better next time.

Well, it could be the 'arrogant' part of him that has earned him the job he presently has to shun the new job.
Well, I totally agree with you on some of the points you made...it can be a blessing or curse

That they took weeks to even decide showed the guy was the best hand they got but they couldn't afford him. It is their loss. Blacklisting him isn't anything.
Guess we will never know that part grin...

Although the company is in the wrong too, but there is a difference between knowing one's self worth and showing it forth, and someone being plain arrogant. If truly he said those exact words, then he's arrogant, and arrogance leads to self-destruction.

Well sha, he's one of the most hardworking in this administration. At least his Ministry is delivering back to back.

Unlike that Finance Minister whose only jobs are to mention bogus figures, drop bad economic news, and come out to explain why the country must keep borrowing.
