Hi People,
May I ask if there's a form of calculator to know when it is best to apply for ILR? Or when do you recommend making the application?
I am asking on the basis that, the date of first issue and entry are weeks apart.
Thanks. |

BorisJohnson: Don’t blame the banks for your refusal (or inability) to read the Terms & Conditions (small prints). The banks always, always give an option to opt out of auto-renew. It is grossly unfair to write the bolded. Actually the banks are in the wrong. I have written to two of my banks quoting CBN's guideline about issuance of cards without prior written consents and both banks refunded me the charges and destroyed the cards and I am saying this was in 2021. Please refer to the CBN Guidelines for Card Issuance and Usage in Nigeria Section 47 (3) of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act 2007 (as amended) sub-section 3.16 “Unsolicited cards should not be issued. Where an unsolicited card is issued and activated without the written consent of the recipient and the latter is billed for the same, or fraudulent activity occurs, the card issuer shall not only reverse the charges forthwith, but also pay a penalty, without objection to the recipient, amounting to twice the value of the charges reversed.” |

Comroguji: COURT HALTS SHARING OF DERIVATION FUNDS TO OIL PRODUCING STATES
A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the Accountant General of the Federation to immediately halt the distribution of more than One trillion naira due to oil producing states pending the determination of the suit before it.
The Court, presided over by Justice Ahmed Mohammad in an interim injunction held that the distribution of the derivation funds without the indices of the Revenue, Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) was injurious to the applicant which is the imo state government.
The imo state attorney general had in a suit No FHC/ABJ/CE/415/2022, against RMAFC and others challenged the distribution of the said funds without unambiguous indices by RMAFC as provided by in Nigeria's Constitution.
In his submission before the court, counsel to imo State Government, Chief Olusola Oke argued on the need to protect his client pending the determination of the suit.
After granting the exparte order, Justice Mohammed ordered the imo state to join other oil producing states as respondents to the suit.
He consequently adjoined the matter to June 15,2022 for hearing of the motion on notice. No link? |

ibenzerkess: You are one in a million who had that thought of coming back, the majority don't. I have posted videos on the page so you can watch them and be will informed. Brother, what you have been saying all along is misleading for real. You cannot say the Govt has limited number of visas to be issued for the graduate scheme You cannot say visas are denied on the basis that slots have been fully exhausted You cannot say the Govt does not want people to access the new scheme by denying visas anyhow You cannot make reference to a 3 year old video to back up your claims which not only provides no statistics but is merely someone's opinion you agree with. Brother, the graduate scheme is here for all legitimate graduates as defined on the Government's website. When people are denied it is either they did not meet the requirements or human error with administrative review as an option. Tell people to stick by the rules to have lesser issues along their way. Encourage people to have back up plans Tell people to follow who know legitimate roads and not all that scary stuff you have been spilling. Even though you mean well, do it right my Brother. |

Ukahh: Okay... Thanks bro... I will still need to hear from other gurus then draw a conclusion. The crux of the matter is that, the data cannot significantly change within a short time (married/single especially when detailed information was provided) which will not only raise questions but will further require clarification from you. You may decide to come clean but then again, it is down to the visa officer reviewing the case to approve/decline/ban the application/applicant. If you have the information submitted for both applications sit down and review it to ensure you are not digging a bigger hole for yourself before making a new application. |

There are two different people identified in the write up. Both are dependants on a student visa. The first lady has now been sponsored. Her friend who just arrived the UK less than 2 months ago is still being interviewed. |

hustla: Not much sponsorship prospects after study
Think that's what he means While there may not be much prospects in those listed fields, anything can still happen. I personally know someone who is a dependent of her husband on student visa that recently got sponsored as a Human Resources Officer, despite having few years experience no masters degree and professional certification in progress. She was able to secure the role with the company being that she was in the UK. Apparently the company was short staffed in that department and I even tried to recommend a friend's wife to apply from Nigeria but she wasn't selected because she was not in the country (something that borders on not qualified/eligible for relocation expenses). Meanwhile someone else who just arrived on dependant visa of her husband was selected for that same role (that someone from Nigeria was denied of) and is in progress of the interviews. All in all, prospects may be slim, hopefully the individuals can break barriers when they get selected for a role in their respective fields. Boss I am not disputing your take like that o, just throwing a different view. I am still fasting lol. |

IcecoldDon: My online family, a wonderful day to you all. I feel so blessed and grateful for all the advice, knowledge, support and help i get from this platform directly and indirectly. My family ( wife and 3 kids) arrived safely to join me in the UK 2 weeks ago, and little by little, we have been acclimatizing and trying to settle down as a family. I have been here since October 2021, but based in Coventry as I am doing my Msc in Coventry University. But I rented a place in Birmingham as I preferred to settle there and my extended family (2 brothers) also live there. The whole process of 'japaing' with the entire family, the mental, physical, emotional and financial stress will be story for another day.
This post is to give accolades to all the elders and everyone who regularly give feedback, responses and information on this thread, which i believe might just be the last genuinely world-class level of goodness and humanity left for nigerians to nigerians who despite being strangers are so good and kind to each other. May God continually bless you on here. There are too many people to mention here who have been towering icons of knowledge and help, to both me and hundreds, requiring information for life changing decision, God will continuously richly bless and keep you and your families.
........ You have done well. |

Solatium: Applying to another Master in UK is a red flag, it's means signs of desperation, the record's are there and it won't fly It is well within the individual's rights to apply for another masters programme. It is however down to the immigration official to either approve or decline. People do that to extend their status or stays. Though I get the angle you write from. |

That's still breaking your visa rules oh.
Cheers You are right, it is classed as self-employment and the person should be looking to do a self-assessment to pay tax. Again, while some people may get away with it, others may not. Best to play it safe always.. |

Solatium: That is strange, may be there is more to their case, once you have 100% attendance at lectures i don't think whatever you do with your spare time should be counted towards going against immigration rule's. Whilst it is true that there is more to the story, you know rules are there for a reason and going against it when caught is punishable under the law. Nevertheless, I expect the people involved were given time to either appeal or leave town* Best to always play safe. |

Dami106: Hello House, please i want to ask a question, which i will like you to make an enquiry about in case you don't know about it. I've been to the UK with a 6months visitor visa and stayed for one month. I have a 2years visitor visa now. The question is, if i get to POE and am asked, how long are you staying? And my response is one month. Then i now stayed 5months before coming back home. Then let's say like 7months later i decided to travel back to the UK, wont they tell me that the last time i came, i said am staying for one month but i stayed for 5months. Will this be an issue for me to enter again? However i know they said the maximum you can stay is 6months. Pls i need a response. It depends on how you explain what you were doing for 5 months while being expected to still be in paid employment. It might be a factor if requested during your visa renewal or at the point of entry whichever comes first. It is all done on a case by case basis. |

It could either end up being promises of renewal at the end of the three years Or It could keep you to be at alert ⚠️ to stay cautious and search for something to take you through the long term |

Poanan: Good morning elders it looks like i have started entering trouble. I went to shop in a community shop some days back. Justwise and co, is that not tantamount to enjoying public funds?
According to the shop, you pay for 5pounds yearly subscription and after that you shop for 3pounds at each shopping and you pay 3pounds but you can only 3times max per week. So together your first shopping u pay a total of 8pounds.
What attracted me to the shop was when i heard they had yams. So I entered and collected the last yam left and few other items and paid 8pounds as a first timer.
Is this an offence? I just reasoned it now! This isn't accessing public funds. More like a charitable venture if you ask me. |

BrunoMads: Hi guys, I have a little misunderstanding, I booked my flight to Birmingham, now my uncle that lives in London is asking me to come over to his place to quarantine in London, since I don't have any place Birmingham yet, I initially planned I was going to stay in a hotel for fifteen days to quarantine and try get a place to live before he came into the picture. So he has sent my his address in London for locator form. Now my my problem is my flight is heading to Birmingham not London, I have a layover of seven hours in Instanbul, can I reroute from Birmingham to London at Instanbul? And at what cost if it is possible? Or , if I can get to Birmingham and head to London by Bus will the immigration disturb me about the address I filled in my locator form being in London at Birmingham airport ? Will it raise any eyebrows? Sometimes- one is better sticking to his or her plans than changing it mid-way. You still need to sort your accommodation, you need to prepare for your classes and also find a part-time job. You can always see your uncle once you are settled. This is on basis that you have made plans already and you were ready to fly out. Your uncle won't come around to look for a house for you and the isolation period isn't anything anymore with the change in rules. Apologies but my 2 cents. |
