My online family, a wonderful day to you all. I feel so blessed and grateful for all the advice, knowledge, support and help i get from this platform directly and indirectly. My family ( wife and 3 kids) arrived safely to join me in the UK 2 weeks ago, and little by little, we have been acclimatizing and trying to settle down as a family. I have been here since October 2021, but based in Coventry as I am doing my Msc in Coventry University. But I rented a place in Birmingham as I preferred to settle there and my extended family (2 brothers) also live there. The whole process of 'japaing' with the entire family, the mental, physical, emotional and financial stress will be story for another day.

This post is to give accolades to all the elders and everyone who regularly give feedback, responses and information on this thread, which i believe might just be the last genuinely world-class level of goodness and humanity left for nigerians to nigerians who despite being strangers are so good and kind to each other. May God continually bless you on here. There are too many people to mention here who have been towering icons of knowledge and help, to both me and hundreds, requiring information for life changing decision, God will continuously richly bless and keep you and your families.

........

You have done well.

Applying to another Master in UK is a red flag, it's means signs of desperation, the record's are there and it won't fly

It is well within the individual's rights to apply for another masters programme. It is however down to the immigration official to either approve or decline. People do that to extend their status or stays.
Though I get the angle you write from.

Funny I know someone and I hope the person shares his story

He was recently denied PSW he worked above 20hrs when he first arrived and tried to stick to 20hrs towards the end thinking it is safe.

Man's already thinking of going back to reapply for another masters.I asked him to share his story here so people can learn. I hope he does

Rules are rules for a purpose, online and offline. These people can get any record they want.

So true.

Hello

Is the online hustle free or paid for. That counts as work too, online or offline.
Abi am I wrong @mimilyrics?

That's still breaking your visa rules oh.

Cheers

You are right, it is classed as self-employment and the person should be looking to do a self-assessment to pay tax. Again, while some people may get away with it, others may not.

Best to play it safe always..

That is strange, may be there is more to their case, once you have 100% attendance at lectures i don't think whatever you do with your spare time should be counted towards going against immigration rule's.

Whilst it is true that there is more to the story, you know rules are there for a reason and going against it when caught is punishable under the law. Nevertheless, I expect the people involved were given time to either appeal or leave town*

Best to always play safe.

For covid time when it was implemented yes it covered spouse and dependant got their money back. You apply after working every 6 months. Covered any job working in care capacity.

I am too lazy to go check if that was changed.

Lol, the fact that you even provide responses to help people is enough, you have done well. Thank you for always helping out

Hello House, please i want to ask a question, which i will like you to make an enquiry about in case you don't know about it. I've been to the UK with a 6months visitor visa and stayed for one month. I have a 2years visitor visa now. The question is, if i get to POE and am asked, how long are you staying? And my response is one month. Then i now stayed 5months before coming back home. Then let's say like 7months later i decided to travel back to the UK, wont they tell me that the last time i came, i said am staying for one month but i stayed for 5months. Will this be an issue for me to enter again? However i know they said the maximum you can stay is 6months. Pls i need a response.

It depends on how you explain what you were doing
for 5 months while being expected to still be in paid employment. It might be a factor if requested during your visa renewal or at the point of entry whichever comes first. It is all done on a case by case basis.

Guys what's the danger of accepting a 3 year sponsorship offer? Even though the company says they will renew when due.

It could either end up being promises of renewal at the end of the three years

Or

It could keep you to be at alert ⚠️ to stay cautious and search for something to take you through the long term

Best to ask the school for the most up-to-date information.
Your answer lies with the school before a scammer gives you a doctored document to make payment into a different account.

Good morning elders it looks like i have started entering trouble. I went to shop in a community shop some days back. Justwise and co, is that not tantamount to enjoying public funds?

According to the shop, you pay for 5pounds yearly subscription and after that you shop for 3pounds at each shopping and you pay 3pounds but you can only 3times max per week. So together your first shopping u pay a total of 8pounds.

What attracted me to the shop was when i heard they had yams. So I entered and collected the last yam left and few other items and paid 8pounds as a first timer.

Is this an offence? I just reasoned it now!

This isn't accessing public funds. More like a charitable venture if you ask me.

Real life story..........

A lady applied for a loan, lender required a guarantor, she got a guarantor....... Guarantor accepted secured term loan .......

Loan term 4 years : Guarantor sold his house after a few months and relocated, borrower lost her job after 1 year and could no longer service loan.......

Lender is chasing borrower, guarantor is out of reach, borrower is requesting lender keep chasing guarantor, that if guarantor did not put his full chest in front, lender would have not dropped funds.......

Borrower is claiming guarantor should be held responsible............ grin

Long and short : Lender is holding borrower responsible, but borrower thinks it's not a fair position........

As a single guy, I'm thinking of quickly getting a girl from home to marry and bring her here.. it'll serve as an edge for student dependant move after my own studies and she'll be able to work full time while I study.
Pls house, what are the pros and cons of this thought and chance of possibility?

Consider looking in the country and physically begin your consultations, you never really know where it might take you

Calm down you don't know his plans or his uncle plans. It's better to stick with what he has stated and work with that.

I don't know how part-time work,
studies or changing his plans came into place because he never stated that aspect. Nowadays you can study and prepare for classes online from anywhere as long you have internet.

Quite frankly - you are right!

Hi guys, I have a little misunderstanding, I booked my flight to Birmingham, now my uncle that lives in London is asking me to come over to his place to quarantine in London, since I don't have any place Birmingham yet, I initially planned I was going to stay in a hotel for fifteen days to quarantine and try get a place to live before he came into the picture. So he has sent my his address in London for locator form. Now my my problem is my flight is heading to Birmingham not London, I have a layover of seven hours in Instanbul, can I reroute from Birmingham to London at Instanbul? And at what cost if it is possible?
Or , if I can get to Birmingham and head to London by Bus will the immigration disturb me about the address I filled in my locator form being in London at Birmingham airport ? Will it raise any eyebrows?

Sometimes- one is better sticking to his or her plans than changing it mid-way. You still need to sort your accommodation, you need to prepare for your classes and also find a part-time job. You can always see your uncle once you are settled. This is on basis that you have made plans already and you were ready to fly out. Your uncle won't come around to look for a house for you and the isolation period isn't anything anymore with the change in rules.
Apologies but my 2 cents.

Does anyone know the rules around dependents traveling to the UK before the main applicant?
The dependent (husband) wants to go first to sort out accommodation and the main applicant (wife) will join with the children.

To the best of my knowledge - I do not think you can do this.

Hello, anyone in Hatfield Hertfordshire?
What’s rent like over there? I see on Rightmove £1,250 to £1,300 for a 2 bedroom ‍♀️
Is rent negotiable there?
Thanks
As one who used to live in Hatfield, I'd say the cost you have quoted sounds about right. More so if you are looking at 2 bedroom houses as against flats.
You may wish to consider Brookmans Park, Welham Green or Colney Heath for accommodation which should be cheaper to Hatfield and accessible via Uno bus to the University.
Best of luck.

What are the financial requirements a STUDENT needs to meet in order to apply for mortgage please?
I believe this depends on your financial stand. Do you have a steady income in the UK and not from overseas. Duration of the visa. What is your disposable income monthly and how many dependents you have. These are requirements that you need to review first before researching on the broker that may take you on especially within your visa category.

What else could be the real problem? He's trying to explore a cheaper route with me bn the scarificial lamp because I'm a woman and preg.

- A problem already is that the story is not straight and I don't mean from you but I mean you are unsure of the story to paint.
- Your applicant and that of your husband will be revisited and if no threat to life was mentioned that will become a problem.
- Your husband & your records will be checked with HMRC which will probably even expose what you have been up to since you came into the country.
- Finally, don't cause problems for yourselves and for people coming behind, because the moment you throw in that application, just imagine someone casting a torchlight on your lives.

- worst worst worst case, just switch to student visa and vice versa till you get to 10 years. Or better still go through the post study route and pray to the Heavens save you!

Hello seniors please I need your input regarding choosing courses

For someone who did International Relations but working as a sales manager in FMCG for 7years now, what course is best to choose to get sponsorship in the Uk
Business/marketing courses
OR
MA international relations

Thank you.

Hello.
The UK has got a number of professions in the shortage occupations list as well as a list of companies that hold licence to sponsor. How about checking them out?
What if someone here tells you that either of the two courses may aid your sponsorship and when you get to the bridge it becomes a problem. What I am driving at is, your skills and experiences may make a company go all out for you to get you sponsored so it is best you do a lot research to determine your path way.
