Hi all, please does speeding ticket/points impact ILR application? Looks like 3 points are coming someone’s way grin, Note, speed awareness course already done in last 2yrs.
No it doesn't. Just make sure to declare it and you'll be fine. What mostly affects the application these days are;
1. Duration spent in and out of the UK
2. Caution on one's record
3. Jail sentence on one's record.

If they need transit, it will be boldly written. Even waka now too will tell you.
No website will alert you of the need to have a transit visa for travel. That's like monitoring visa policies all around the world because of the travellers who are meant to own the liability of purchasing a ticket.

Being registered to vote affects your credit records in a positive way. You should do that once you arrive the UK. Takes about 3 minutes.

https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote

You can also check whether you are on ɓthe voter's register here

https://www.gov.uk/contact-electoral-registration-office
Question please: during my ceremony at the council, I was given a document to register to vote. Note that I already have been registered. Is there something I am meant to do? I failed to ask the question at the center because i did not see the paper until I got home. Just thought to ask if you have any insights.

then add the fact that it is hard to get jobs paying even minimum wage..

Home Office don't smile with employers of illegal immigrants etc..

https://www.gov.uk/penalties-for-employing-illegal-workers

People need to watch UK Border Force show to see the reality of things.. how people suffer for years earning way below minimum wage and are still caught

It is one thing to say she should do this and that and stay lowkey... It is another thing to actually see it through....

We need to also remember advance in technology and now share code have made things easier for people to be detected/caught/monitored

A perfect example is the Live Facial Recognition thats been introduced by the Met Police which helps locate people on a ‘watchlist’ who are sought by the police;

https://www.met.police.uk/advice/advice-and-information/fr/facial-recognition-technology/

Like i stated earlier, going back to Nigeria should always be an option... even if it is the last resort..

I know it it hard, very hard but sometimes reset/replan is another strategy

Even if she has a baby with someone as recommended, how will she be able to pay childcare fees? she needs to work, etc.. and earn something through out the legal tussle to remain in the country.. then add the emotional angle to the tussle
Please forgive my ignorance, what is the positive of a right to work share code, if all i do is attend an interview and pass off a share code via email (offline) as against showing my BRP in an interview or to the HR personnel online.

I am just trying to understand if I am missing something with the logic.

Hello, please did you wait for your ILR BRP to arrive before applying for naturalisation or was the email confirming it was successful enough?
You Will definitely need the BRP before applying for naturalisation.

Does anyone know if having points on your licence can affect your ILR application?

Is it better to plead guilty from the beginning or go to court and contest if you might still be found guilty? This is for a minor traffic violation with no more than the potential for 3 points.
I can confirm to you that it doesn't. Just mention it there and that's it. Doesn't impact the application.

Hi all

I am hoping to travel with my kids (4&2) to naija soon. They've got their British passport but don't yet have a naija passport. I don't think we'll be able to apply and get it within the timeframe we are hoping to travel. Can we do an ETC. Please is there anyone who has applied for a child? how was the process like and what's the timeline? Thanks.
Could they not do visa on arrival? Thought that used to be a thing.

Hi Please, does anyone here know how long it takes to receive a PCN? I went through Dartford Crossing but only remembered to pay after the midnight one is expected to pay. I called the line but was told unless PCN is issued they can't do anything however they suggested to plead first offender rate when trying to pay. In the mean time I made payment for future crossing on the car reg. cos I thought maybe by sheer of luck it would count but that's still sitting pretty there.
Crossed December 28th and till date nothing. Kept checking the gov website to see if it had been issued but nothing.

It's entirely dependent on the buyer's threshold limits.........

Look at the margins set + expected targets + current price, then make an informed decision....... Are you hoping for a long term hold or short term .........
Looking to buy for both short and long term..

for email visa schedule appointment: info.ukgr@gvc24assist.eu / london.gr@gvc24assist.eu

For visa application: https://www.gvcworld.eu/
I have come back once again to thank you for the plug.

Here's my timeline;

- Sent an email to both addresses on the 30th of May
- Got a response 3hrs later giving me an appointment for the 2nd of June. (Email was from London.gr@gvc24assist.eu) the other one is quite generic and even asked me to go through the website even though it isn't functioning properly.
- Put together an application with documents downloaded from the website within 2 days: https://uk-gr.gvcworld.eu/en/schedule-appointment
- Attended appointment on the 2nd of June. I was told I needed to pay in full for the trip and not just making a deposit payment. Completed the biometric appointment.
- Visa delivered on 16th of June.

Observation
- Appointment time given is what anyone should aim for.. i got there for 9am and appointment was 10:15. People who got there 9:30am were allowed straight in while I was made to wait for my time.
- I was told the visa would not be issued unless the payment for the holiday was made in full soonest and this was because I made a deposit payment. Email to the embassy was given to me and I was told to send it in a certain format.
- You can also apply up to 6 months ahead, they acknowledged they are very busy and encourage travellers to plan ahead.

Wishing prospective applicants the best.

Sometimes, it has to do with determination. For every 1 failed BA. there are 5 more pushing through and mastering the ropes.

Most people love the idea of being called a Business Analyst without fully understanding what it entails. I won't blame the short courses sellers though.. they are proviiding the needed frontline soldiers for a war that might not end tomorrow. The good thing from that is - to be a Captain or a General, you must have survived from the frontlines!
Totally agree with this, I suppose I am one of the failed BAs.. attended training in 2 centres plus self studied over a period of 2 years before I could understand what would be expected of me to deliver. In the end I had to follow a different path to get my bearing. Wasn't easy to me but would certainly be easy for someone else.

Wishing the poster looking to make a career change the best, because man, nothing comes easy sometimes and those difficult times may feel like a lasting situation.

Agbaya niyen. Your answers don't relate to his question.

Shey e tell you say na England e dey come, wey you dey tell am to go peckham?

Or e ask you the long epistle you wrote, that is irrelevant to his question?

If you are that bored, to turn his question to play without even answering the question, then you should learn to start watching comedy on YouTube.
This is how comments spiral out of control. Even the person who asked questions was making fun with his question and subsequent responses and you are here complaining. It feels like you were looking forward to a particular response to use yourself.
Meanwhile did the person asking question reveal location abi are we not in the UK anymore?

Bros, no dey tighten things for chest. If person wey ask question no complain why you come dey worry?

You go around making fun of people even in other thread all in the name of humour when it's not necessary .
As you & others may think I'm not related to the person in question, I don't know him from Adam , others gave their advice and suggestions.
But you check out what you're always spitting out as an elderly person you claim to be . Haba it's not necessary
Same way people advice to read and move on. In the humor is the message, we should not be tightening everything to chest. We are all not same people.
Remember a human facing you, backs another human.

I didn't put the clause in that contract, he did.

So whether he likes it or not, he would have to give me the cost of ending the contract since I am no longer interested in the sponsorship as stated in the contract.

I believe he is just stalling.

And again, getting my reference sorted out with prospective employer doesn't even mean I have moved to the company as I have not given my leave notice yet.

Ancient abeg answer this reference question jare. Wait! abi you be my oga ni, wey come dey disguise for nairaland.
You can inform your new employer that your current employer is stalling and may be unwilling to provide you with a reference, then ask for options. Usually they may accept a character reference from someone else, a colleague to attest that you work with the current employer or ask to provide a different reference from elsewhere.

Note that you should not start with the new employer until you have cleared the release clause with your current employer, even if it means pushing on the start with the new employer. You don't want to be caught in any legal battle.

hi hi beautiful people,

please I have a question/observation

I got my new BRP but it seems I have to do one share code for Right to work and Right to rent?

The date on my BRP is end of 2024 but the email i got from UKVI says permission to stay until end of 2025..

Which date do I go with as the expiration ?

Am i supposed to do share code for Right to work and Right to rent?
It would be end of 2025. Issuance of BRPs end December 2024 which is why it is showing as the expiry.

Anyone in (or know about) Brighton and Hove area? I'm considering taking an offer there.
Which are the best commuter towns close the area? I feel like Brighton is touristy and being by the sea will likely be crowded and expensive...
It's a hybrid role so not particularly worried about distance, but looking at keeping it under 30 to 45mins drive.
I'm looking for calm residential areas with good schools and good links for transportation, leisure and shopping, etc. (And fair rental prices lipsrsealed grin)

Any insight or tips will be appreciated smiley
Hove, Burgess Hill or even Preston Park is really calm when compared to Brighton. Brighton, having 2 Universities has made the axis quite expensive. However you may end up coming into Brighton for activities.
