Good day all
Please I need sincere advice about this. My fiance applied for a UK visit visa recently with the help of an agent and the application was denied based on him not able to prove that he will return after his visit and he was not banned. The agent submitted that he was married with a kid and include a fake religion marriage certificate and birth certificate and in the real sense he was not. We are doing our court wedding this week and he can apply has my dependant by November to join over. I have my visa already and will be traveling next week. how Can we go about the other marriage certificate included in his application and the fake name included. Thank you God bless you all

The way I see it, it doesn't look good. The way forward would be to come clean and be apologetic for the lies told in previous application. There is no point forging documents again for separation or divorce it will backfire "again". Best to be honest at this point.

Which number

Be careful of people who make payments on your behalf. You may be asked to contact someone who will use a fraudulent card and charge you the money or its equivalent plus service fee. Once the real and true owner of the card ask his or her bank for refund, your application will get declined and you will be blacklisted straight away. Don't be deceived that it works for some, ignorance is not an excuse.

People have talked about using Flutterwave and other verifiable legit means. Most importantly Do It Yourself!

Hi guys,
I really don't know where to rope this case in and the possible outcome with the dude involved.
A guy had an affair with a white babe and later ended the relationship.( babe was toxic)
Lots of stories flying around them but what captured my interest is that the babe accused him of rape.
How?
They did it without cd and along the line she told him to use withdrawal method but dude poured everything inside and its classified as rape.
Is this even possible?
He will be taken to court soon.
Me, I no understand o.

This doesn't sound good at all. He is best to consult a lawyer to seek advice from here, otherwise it could potentially ruin him if he decides to walk bare, it doesn't good. Consent is the key here.

You are just lashing out because you got called out for making a mistake.

Why do you move abroad with larger family if you have no accommodation waiting or made an arrangement for one?

When you failed to plan then you planned to fail, you have two options when moving abroad with family of 1,2 or more.

1. Main applicant moved first, stay in a hotel, BnB, AirBnB to settle, get accommodation before moving the rest of the family.

2. Pay for student accommodation for one semester, use that opportunity to get something cheaper and suitable for family.

Its not rock scientist that if you moved with larger family it will cost you a lot to stay in a hotel or AirBnB.

The reason you gave for the lack of accommodation is not true because:

1. We have had PSW before for many years and there was no accommodation crisis then.

2. The UK was still a member of EU then hence many EU students and other EU members can easily troop into the UK as they wish but still many foreign students still get accommodation.

Years ago when i moved from Bradford to Portsmouth, i travelled to Portsmouth first(this is about 6hrs journey) stayed in a hotel for just a day, got list of private landlords from the university and the next day i viewed 3 properties and was able to get one. I moved back to Bradford to pack my stuff.

Yes you were desperate for a place and that was why you offered to pay more than the asking price.

This is totally true. People need to be more strategic about moving otherwise undue desperation sets in. Offering to pay more for accommodation pcm not even deposit? Naah

Yes I got a tenancy agreement

You have taken the risk already.. Best to wait it out and hope that your visa turns up in good time. If you paid for deposit and decide to suspend your tenancy, the landlord may use the deposit paid to cover the month(s) you do not pay for and find someone else to take up the property.

Hopefully it all sorts itself out in a week or two.

With KLM, you transit at schipol (Amsterdam) ...... With Airfrance, you transit at CDG or ORLY (if you transit THROUGH ORLY , (YOU MUST CLAIM YOUR CHECKED IN LUGGAGE). Before you make your way to CDG.... You still end up at LHR..

With all this transits, ensure you check your last mile return flight, before you book. Not checking could mean your return flight is either within an hour or 8 hours......

You could also book either KLM/AF, and checkout via LCY (London city airport)....... If you reside in the east/SE...... LCY, would be your best last mile stop......

NB : Also ensure you have a transit visit, if your flight stops at ORLY.....

I don try........ cheesy

Will the issue of transit visa be applicable if outbound is from the UK to Nigeria via KLM and inbound is via Virgin Atlantic from Nigeria to the UK?

Currently having issues with flights at the moment *long story

Trying to access specta loan from Sterling

Thank you

If the bad facility and loan you're trying to get is with a Nigerian bank, then it is best to sort out the bad loan as records will continue to hinder you given how BVN is now used all across the banks.

Good evening, please I need professional advise, I need to access a loan in the bank but I have a facility that has gone bad, thereby affecting my credit score.
1. If I reschedule the loan and it goes back to performing, will it reflect automatically on my credit score?

2. I heard even if I clear the bad debt I will still not be able to access this facility until after 6month before my credit score goes back to normal, how true is this?
Bankers, Gurus in the house please help I am for January resumption.

What country are you at present?
Do you monitor your credit score?
For how long has the facility gone bad?
What bank are you trying to access the loan from?

Just trying to get more context so as to offer an advice!

Good afternoon everyone, this is my first time of posting on nairaland and i sincerely need your advice.
I am an ex banker and i applied for UK Visa in 2019 for my daughter and i and we were refused on the ground that they were not convinced i was going to retrun to my country, afterward i contested the refusal and further got a 10years ban for my daughter and I for contesting the refusal.
Now i have another child a son (8years) and since the 10years ban has elapsed we are about applying again but this time the whole family wants to vist the UK, i.e my husband, myself and our two children (family of four).
i have different companies now as i run different businesses. all my companies are registered as an enterprise.

Catering company (registered in my name and my husband's name)
Supermarket
Cleaning company
Computer School and cyber café.
We have roughly 9,5m in all this account with the bulk in our catering account.
I do not really pay myself salary.

My husband is a civil servant and we have a landed property in Lagos which we have only develop a part of it.

My catering company used to be a vendor for British Council, i have my letter of nomination and company profile duly stamped and signed by them.
My questions are :-

What are the documents that we will be needing for our application?

we have the following documents already :-

1. Hotel Reservations
2. Colored Copies of Data page
3. Statement of Accounts for our businesses and Pay slips for my husband
4. Marriage Certificate and pictures
5. Introduction Letter From Company (i don't know what to write for myself) my husband got his from his office
6. Tax Clearance
7. Certificate of Incorporation
8. Discreet Valuation of our property.
9. Letter from our banks
10. Letter of nomination to be a vendor for British Council
11. Family pictures
12. Birth certificates

Please can i get a sample of a letter of introduction for the CEO? or is it the regular introduction letter?
As the CEO of my companies do i need a leave letter?

We intend to spend 10 days in all and we want to apply in October in preparation for December Vacation.
We have the following document ready but i will really appreciate it if i can be guided on the documents we will be needing for submition which will not be outside of the scope.

My friend volunteered to assist us with Airbnb for the period of time we intend staying.

Thank you as i await your response.

Do you mean you applied year 2009 as against the 2019 you have written?

What can she do Please because she called the home office but they said the mistake is at the airport and not home office issue.

The correction has to be done at Gatwick Airport.

I have the international driving license.

Can this allow me to drive upon landing in the UK?

What else can I do so I can drive when I enter the UK?

As a student arriving in the UK soon, is there a major reason why you would like to drive a car?

Buy a car
Get a valid insurance on the drivers licence you hold
Ensure the car has a valid MOT
Tax the car

Lastly ensure you know the rules of the road, especially when driving during different seasons.

Thank you all for all your contribution here. It's been really informative. I have a pressing issue and I really need advice here.
I am married and intend to go for my master in the UK and my wife also wants to go for her Bsc in Nursing. The following are my questions:
1. Do we have to separately apply for our students visa
2. Can she go with me as a dependant and just school there since dependants can either work or school
3. What are my chances of successful approver if she applies as a dependant as regards to my home ties since I intend to use that .
4. Should I go alone then she joins me after I have settled for some time.

NB: There's enough funds to carter for both of our schooling.
All inputs are needed. Will be here to answer more questions if need be. Thanks all

1. Yes - you can apply separately as long as you have the funds to cater for both fees. Bear in mind, an undergraduate student can't apply for dependants (if you have plans to switch in the future).
2. Yes - she can apply as your dependant and work/school while in the UK.
3. It doesn't matter as per ties, so long as you have the funds and can establish valid reasons you want your family close by.
4. Doesn't matter if you have the funds and can go together.

I was in similar shoes...used my maiden name until British passport then I changed. However my naija passport still in my maiden name which means it is not a requirement.

The full guidance is on Google.... you need 3 things. 1. List the new names on the application. 2. Marriage certificate and 3. Evidence this now a name used. I post the link but it might not copy well so I add screen shot....but its on Google

Hello all. I’m just wondering if anyone else has been in this situation as we’re trying to find some more information about this. My wife who is a British citizen and also holds a Nigerian passport has now changed her name to her married name on her Nigerian passport. She has an indefinite leave visa which is still in her maiden name. Does anyone know if she needs to get the name on the visa changed before she can change the name on her British passport to her married name? She found information that she needed to change the name on her Nigerian passport first before the British one which is what we’ve done but we’re struggling to find anything about the indefinite leave visa. Thank you all for your help in advance.

Usually a straight swap - they come to our house, we go to theirs. Our very first experience was in 2017 to Prague and we haven't looked back. We've now completed 38 swaps in over 11 countries. Now that we're more confident and I can suss out if a swap will work for us or not, we use only People Like Us and will occasionally swap through a dedicated FB group . When we were starting out, we used Love Home Swap (too expensive) and Home Exchange as both have built in insurance and will cover 2 nights accommodation if the swap falls through.

As a family of 5 ajalas and sometimes 6 (we had au pairs till 2020 and always travelled with them) accommodation is always our biggest cost. Sometimes even more than flights if going international. Plus it means we can always do quick local trips (2 - 4 hours drive) at weekends.

There are generally 3 kinds of swaps -
Simultaneous - you go to them, they come to you and it's the one that is most popular
Non sim - You bank a stay - they go to yours whilst you're elsewhere or vice versa and you agree on when you can stay or you use points/ tokens/ globe etc which is like a virtual credit depending on the site.
Hospitality - you or them host whilst at home - works well for people who have lots of space.

https://www.homeexchange.com/ - is the biggest. I have my issues with it (not swappers) just the management. It was sold for millions in 2019 and the ethos changed completely but that's by the by. It's a very good starting point.

https://www.lovehomeswap.com/ - found it quite expensive and most of the home owners there quite pretentious (we did complete 3 swaps through them).

https://peoplelikeus.world/ - newish but with lots and lots of EU/UK/US homes and has a very active FB group which I love and is the only one we use.

On a practical level - it's like Airbnb but without an exchange of money. People stay and leave reviews. Must haves for me are child friendly, no pets to look after, and reasonably clean. It has helped us seriously declutter as well as go paperless on every bills. We always take our passports with us wherever we go. When we swap cars, I will always request a bond which equals our excess plus copies of driving licences.

We're heading back to the UK next year and swapping for 9 weeks with a Kiwi couple with 4 children who want to come home (we're currently working in New Zealand till 2023)

Some more info -
https://sharetraveler.com/best-home-exchange-networks/

This is my first time coming across this, and while I do not have the liver to do it. I will salute you and thank you for helping me learn something new. grin

We have trashed some points here numerous times.......

I have emphasized topics about insurance vs licence validity........

The insurance company simply made his insurance policy, null & void.......

I personally think the horse already bolted....... If he is meant to pay the bill, he should request the invoices of repair..........

I feel would be a difficult battle, but worth a fight...... They would state ignorance is not an excuse ......

Was his neighbour in the car, during the accident? If the neighbour was, a possible whiplash claim might still be added/already added......

NB : A couple of years ago, after a shift at Kent & Sussex hospital, got to my car hopped in, drove down the road, I could hear a flap at the back of my car.......

Unbeknown to me, the lady that parked behind me, rammed my rear mercilessly....... Luckily for me, I saw them walking away from their car (about 4 of them)...... I accosted them, the lady admitted hitting me, we exchanged details (took pictures etc etc).........

Lady got home, explained to her father...... Story changed..... She denied responsibilities....... grin

My insurance company already gave me a courtesy vehicle, so I no send (that's why I pay insurance) (it's their battle)...... tongue

I drove this courtesy vehicle for 11 month's, YES 11 month's........ grin

Bill was over £22,000..... War started, it eventually ended in court.... My vehicle was written off and judgement was got against the other insurance company (they had to pay that bill)....... cheesy

Wow wow. Omo!!

What are the types of visa available

I'm joing an investment company in London as intern which will later become full time Job after 10 month internship.

So what kind of visa should I apply for?

When you applied for the internship, did you disclose to the company that you are an overseas applicant?

You clearly can't apply for visit visa to work and I am unsure what sort of work permit, you will need to apply for on this occasion.

Hello everyone,

I'm a medical student applying for an elective at a hospital in the uk. i've previously done electives in the uk before covid but now it's difficult to get electives as hospitals aren't taking overseas students due to covid. I was able to find one but one of the things they need is a dbs check. Now i haven't committed any offense in the uk or any other country so i know the dbs check will come back saying i have no offenses but i'm just worried that the police will now have record of my name, passport and other details and dont want to be in under their radar. Also i dont want them thinking i'm coming to the uk to work on a visitors visa cos they might not understand why the hospital is saying i'm their incoming employee so they need my dbs when its just an unpaid medical student elective. What do you guys think or advice? Thank you.

Undergoing a DBS check should not worry you. It is standard practice for organisations and whatever record the police hold of you shouldn't also worry so long as no offence has been committed. I will say you have no worry here.

You have to do covid test pre departure.... I think the free nhs test is no longer accepted. Then before boarding there a Nigerian form you complete and still pay for a covid test to be done in naija 7 days after arrival.

So essentially a pre and post covid tests...however not sure how a 5 days trip would work

Thank you. Still trying to understand how it would be for a 5 days trip.

Are you fully vaccinated? Ideally, you need to take an post arrival COVID-19 test on day 7 and a departure test latest 72hrs before your trip. If you are fully vaccinated you might be able to make your case to authorities why you can test earlier

Yes, fully vaxed. Only thing is one won't be in the city for 7 days to do that day 7 test

How would doing covid tests impact such a trip? I hear there are some rules around doing post arrival covid test in Nigeria and covid test to be done before departing Nigeria.

Can anyone please help explain how this could work?

Any explanation will be appreciated.
