If the killings stopped as you posited, what about the post election violence of 2011, wasn't that political too? or is political killing limited to high profile cases? the youth corpers that lost their lives were not human beings? our sense of human feeling is sometimes just gross. |
[quote author=anonimi]Are those political ASSASSINATIONS ![]() Can we try to engage our grey matter productively once in a while ? [/quote so what are they? Haven't the killings been linked to politics in one way or the other? Can we learn to be consistent in our thinking and show signs of good breeding on a public forum? |
Did the op just say the killings have ceased since Obj left office? The lives been daily lost to Boko Haram do not count? |
These are criminals,” Mr. Jonathan said. “If they kill them, they will just show you how they have killed the girls. They will show you how they are slaughtering them. We have various films [and] videos that they release where they slaughter people. Even among themselves, when they send us [a video of] someone who betrays them, they will slaughter them like rams.” He concluded, “If they kill these girls, they will show [videos to] the world to bring condemnation [and] make the world [believe] the Nigerian government isn’t doing enough. That’s why they [will] have slaughtered those girls. But so far, we have not had any video clip showing that those girls are being killed.” The statement above sounds quite careless to me, is he trying to put ideas into the head of those crazy vampires? |
Biko. That money too small, make am ten million. |
Thank God. Amala, Gbegiri and Ewedu were not included. Oya mama sikira serve me my usual, remember to put Egufe. Tnx. |
Abeg make GEJ no die oooo >: that Namadi guys looks terribly clueless. |
AkinEgba: Of course. Keep in mind also that they would not only sell weapons, but they will also prevent the islamization of their ''Christian brothers''Just as they are protecting their christain brothers in Iraq? you people always think that one plus one will always be two. You think Isreal and America have your time, when they have bigger issues to think about? One major knowledge i derived from Major general Alex Madiebo book on the Biafran war is that all postulations and assumptions before a major war can be wrong. Many people thought the advanced christian countries would come to Biafra's aid during the civil war, and the biafran propagandist also tried to paint the war as a moslem - christain war in the hope that this would jolt the western world to their side. What eventually happened? The western world never went beyond rhetorics, they kept silent as genocide of unimaginagle proportions were being perpetuated agaianst helpless civilians. And even celebrated Gowon's no victor no Vanquished nonsense. What happened in Rwanda, Congo, Angola, Sudan? Please war is not fought on the internet with spurious assumptions and postulation. War does not solve anything. If war becomes unfortunately inevitable prepare to fight and die on your feet rather than live on your knees. You can only predict what will trigger a war u can never predict how it will be fought or won. |
PDP = APC. THAZALL |
This issue is currently raising my blood pressure, relatives have this exaggerated opinion of your finances, by the time they table all their demands you will wonder if your annual income can take care of half of it. Some will even be demanding luxuries that you cannot even afford for yourselves and they will be doing so with all justifications in the world. The solution, i relocated to a far away place, with good security and blocked many of their phone numbers, i have a lot of responsibilities to my son which i dont intend to shirk, my parents did not fail me i wont fail my child to please any relative. |
WombRaiders: cowardice has no cure.Cowardice kwa? ok. A living dog is better than a dead lion |
50calibre: Young man stop talking bulls*hit, no one asks you to be a Maradona or to dribble everyone, all the fans demand is a playmaker who can coordinate the team.I miss Jay jay, can Nigeria ever produce another No 10 like that? ohh i remember the days of Rashidi Yekini, George Finidi, Emmanuel Amuneke, Peter Rufai etc. That era was indeed golden. |
Any body that still believes that this Boko haram insurgency should be approached with conventional means is unserious. Set aside any convention and face them frontally, any body harbouring them should know the risk involved. Such a person is likely to be a collateral Damage. |
Am not a fan of Buhari, not because of all these conspiracy theories flying around to discredit the general, I just feel the world has advanced beyond his likes. But Ati ku? Biko that's a no no, he won't even win his local government. While I am not a fan of GEJ, for one I believe he is not capable of steering the ship of this nation away from an impending catastrophe, it looks like what happened in 2011 is about to repeat itself. I.e. Many Nigerians will still vote for him in the absence of any alternative. |
overhypedsteve: I remember the one way them slap one of my guy for eye, after two weeks the guy still dey ask me say why everywere dey red.Boyyyyy, I fear that kain slap oooo. After 2 weeks the person never well? |
Bank work is the riskiest job in Nigeria, only a mile separates your home from the prison. This year alone at least three of my colleagues have either been sacked or detained for various infringements. Most bank frauds have internal connivance, guys are getting impatient these days, they wan hammer, so they can leave the stressful but thankless atmosphere of banking in Nigeria. |
How many times have you heard Yoruba blaming Nzeribe for June 12? The guy was just a weapon used to achive that ignoble purpose of the evil genius. I still commend the Yoruba's for the matured way they handled the june 12 issue, they eventually got what they wanted in double folds without losing millions of their people. Being irrationale should not be confused for bravery, The Yorubas were clearly not prepared for war when That issue happened any attempt at war would simply have been irationale and thoughtless and it would have caused a serious problem for the whole nation. The funny thing is, though there was no war, Even Abacha the aggressor in chief, dared not venture ouf of Nigeria through out his tenure, before he died like a chicken on top of a prositute. That strategy is called : Adiye ba lokun, ara o rokun ara o radiye in Yoruba. |
eaglechild: Alade seems to be speaking from both sides of his mouth, on one hand you admit that Nigerian politicians are the most expensive to pay, on the other you say the wage bill is overestimated.I think he is only trying to bring out the irony in the whole episode. |
abrakhigbe: You have made a good efforts to explain your points, kudos! You want people to read Abraham Maslow's theory because their wards refuse to go to school? Haba the koboko route is much easier and faster, 99.99% of Nigerians will prefer it. |
Keshi is easily the best Nigerian coach, his biggest problem is unneccessary sentiments in player selection. If he is able to rise above that imperfection he will surely go places. |
I thought I was the only one noticing this trend, even the Ajose Adeogun road constructed by zenith Bank, isn't top notch again, but it's far better than most others, I think the solution is to cover those interlocked roads with the good old coal tar. |
when i come to Nairaland, and i hear some tribal bigots spew rubbish, i get seriuosly surprised. The Igbo people i work with and stay with are peace loving and easy going people. They are not violent and disgruntled as being portrayed by e-warriors and online rabble rousers. |
Oil is a curse, Neighbours who had been living peace for ages in peace, suddenly starts killing themselves with automatic weapons. Na wa oo |
BuddahMonk: Which of your South West?Fortunately by the nature of my Job, i get to travel around the country a lot, i am also married to Delta ibo lady, i work in a place peopled with mostly south easterners, So i know exactly what i am saying. Only city centres and i mean capital or commercial city centres are habitable, the rest are thickly rural. Even the so called capital cities are devoid of industries or job opportunities, they look mostly sleepy. Ogun state alone has more industires than all south eastern states combined, its not for nothing that the outside world believes that Nigeria starts from Lagos and end in Ogun state. |
But I thought some people usually come to nairaland to talk about how poor south western people are, and how every member of their own tribe is a billionaire? Figures don't lie at all. |
leonshom: Not "Gun" but "Egun"You sure know more about my tribe than me, don't you ?. It is "Gun" or "Ogu" , "Egun" is a derogatory coinage by the Yoruba to refer to our ethnic group. |
I am from Badagry in Lagos, but my mum is from Osun state, i cant even speak a word of Gun ( the badagry language) but i can rap in Yoruba and i even speak my mom's Ijesha dialect quite well. It can be embarassing atimes, especially when i go to badagry, infact i have been told by a few people to bury any political ambition that is attached to badagry because it wont work if i cant speak the language. But i guess its too late to start learning how to be left handed in old age. |
Keshi should have taken this boy to the worldcup, afterall he is better than Azeez, Uchebo and reuben gabriel combined |
