This same thing happened to me last year, at ketu on my way to Ikorodu, i asked a Lastma official for direction, i was immediately arrested, i calmly spoke in Yoruba to the LASTMA guys to chill a bit, i called an aunt who is a a perm sec in Alausa, she got in contact with their boss, their boss called them to ask what went wrong, they immediately lied, right there in my presence, that i passed the BRT lane and they caught me, i couldnt believe my ears, there was no BRT lane close to that place, i was shocked, their oga called me and started toungue lashing me, saying as an indigene of Lagos, i should know better, blah blah blah after all the story, he later ordered them to release me, i still settled the boys with 3k. I felt like i had been scammed. It was a crazy day. LASTMA and police same of the same. no difference |
I dont know why Hamas is doing this to the children of palestine, simple logic demands that you confront your aggressor only and only when you are sure that you possess superior firepower. But i think a UN enforced ceasefire is the only way out of this logjam, the world cannot fold its hands and watch innocent children being sent to their early graves. |
marriage is over rated, trust me I am married. |
jamace: OP, how old are you? Can you recall the inventions of Biafra during the Nigeria civil war? Incase you are too young to understand, be enlightened that every part of Nigeria is viable and can survive on its own. Remember that, "Necesity is the mother of invention".Which inventions are you talking about? is it Ogbunigwe that will feed the teeming population particularly emergency returnees from other places? Starvation led to the collapse of Biafra, there is nothing on ground now to prove there won't be a repeat, all it takes is for South south states with access to sea to play the saboteurs again, and a blockade would do the rest. I may be wrong sha, u need to prove it. |
If Lagos should join this trend........ trouble big trouble. |
[quote author=Decibel]When Late Prof. Chinua Achebe wrote a book ' There Was a Country', the elites and critics call him unprintable names.Am sure everyone can see the reason why he wrote such book. Let keep it rolling.[/quote That book has been a serious catalyst to the impending implosion that stares us in the face, it's quite unfortunate. |
saasala: What is this one saying, when did I say she can't cookApologies, i meant to quote someone else. |
saasala: What about her food?how did you know she cant cook? |
Aregbe shouldnt have played the religion card at all, contrary to widespread belief, Yoruba xtians have this morbid fear of islamic domination, but will not voice it out in public, they will only talk about it in whispers, the moment they suspect anyone of being an islamic bigot, they will simply vote him out silently. This reminds me of GEJ in 2011, the Yoruba Xtians didnt care to listen to his campaign manifesto, they took a look at Buhari once and went straight for GEJ. My neigbours kept parroting " Kristeni ni" each time any one tried to campaign against GEJ. So only God can save Aregbe, Nobody plays religion politics and survive the Yoruba electorates onslaught. |
saasala: Joke and Olu legend. |
Good news, if GEJ can shed his affinity for corruption and corrupt people and tackle our security challenges head on like a man........ i will become his biggest fan. |
^^^^ Last time i checked Ondo is a south western state and it is currently the 5th highest oil producing state in Nigeria. Lagos and Ogun state host more than 70% of all industries in Nigeria, so the south west will not die wihout your Oil. My assertion is that what is sauce for the goose should be sauce for the gander. If oil producing states can get derivation, then Lagos, that tiny state carrying the heavy load of a giant nation should also be compensated likewise. |
Revenue from non oil sources now contribute about 45% of the total revenue to the federation, Lagos contributes about 65% of this money, One would have expected Fashola to make it a point in the about to be concluded National conference, if oil producing states can get 13% derivation fund from the federation, then lagos should have demanded for at least 10% of the total revenue generated from the state, including corporate tax, Vat and income from port activities, this will enable the state to maintain the infrastructure in the state, and take care of the citizens of other states who have made Lagos their home. This is more like crying over spilt milk, the federal government has its hands in too many pies, you dont expect it to be everywhere at the same time. |
publisher: At the end of the Nigerian civil war,a "no victor, no vanquished" theme was adopted.is it the northern elites that murdered him? why not place the guilt where it belongs, right in the middle of a war, when Ojukwu should be thinking of how to feed his people he was busy murdering his experienced soldiers and you are blaming the northern elite.pleassssse. |
using the above matrices, Gej has failed woefully, but I agree that he is better than Barrack Obama, that guy is the biggest definition of cluelessness in all its ramifications. |
Now, I am not a fan of the first lady, but I refuse to believe this, nobody can be that callous abeg, even if she is, her husband can not be that stupid. |
wonderful write up. APC need to raise the heir performance beyond mediocrity level if they seriously intend to displace PDP. Nigerians will rather stay with their known devil than jump on this unsteady and unsure APC bandwagon. |
this look like a set up to me........ bros please shine your eyes. |
ANAMBRA11: u beta go back home foooool ur cup has full in anambra we shall pack u all and throw in river niger if any bomb explode In any part of south east boko haram maloPlease before you do that, please for christ sake ensure all your people in the North are safely back home...., because actions and reactions are known to be equal but opposite. |
in other words, FFK wan become vice president. I dey laugh o |
Nice one. I totally support this man. I am yoruba and I clearly see reluctance on the part of many yoruba people to follow tinubu to APC. The question is why so soon after Abiola`s betrayal would some one else want to lead us back into hausa slavery? Apc could be making a big mistake if they take south west votes for granted come 2015. Even if we dont like Jonathan we dont believe the north is a better alternative either. The snc is the last remaining hope for us. We pray it ends well |
You can lie to your children about Wole Soyinka, call him anything u like, but your children will grow up to know that the first african to win a nobel prize is actually Wole Soyinka, that he went to jail for the biafran cause even when others were fleeing to abidjan dressed like women. They will know he remains steadfast in the face of millitary tyranny and actually saw the end of the greatest tyrant ever produced by Nigeria. Wole Soyinka is the greatest nigerian who ever lived. You don't have to agree, but its the truth |
I have been using a samsung galaxy note 11 since june this year, sir its been bliss all the way, superb in every respect. |
Its time for we Yorubas to get prepared. Complacency is too dangerous. Its obvious that every region is quite envious of the relative peace and progress in the south west and some of them are ready to destroy the region. This is not the right time to hob nob with any region, this is time to get ready to defend our heritage with the last pint of our blood. If 2015 catches us unprepared, then we should get ready for a lifetime of enslavement and backwardness. Yoruba ronu o. |
Arysexy: Truth is a bitter kolanut in the mouth of d consciencelessWhether Awolowo killed igbos is not the issue here bro, why demonise a whole region of about forty million people who have been accommodating to the same igbo people for political gains. Thats the height of wickedness bro. |
ironically Sani Abacha, the man who killed you died shamefully less than 3 years after your death. Continue resting in peace Ken you were indeed a great man. |
Nonsense, some people were trying to disrupt the activities of a contractor, meant to bring development to their area and they are traeted like cultists, is there anything wrong with that? it is not until you wear a badge or carry a placard proclaiming you a cultist before you can be regarded as one, once you behave like a cultist, then you should be treated like one. Weldone Amaechi, we need more of such ruthlessness to cleanse this country. |
