ComputersRe: Opera Web Browser by IAH(f): 4:05pm On Aug 03, 2005
I think I'm quite conservative. I'm already used to IE and don't feel familiar with other browsers. I tried Firefox and Netscape, but I don't seem to like the dialog boxes, I mean UI. In short, I don't feel at home with other browsers.

What's the use of having a personal website except if you are a celebrity? Honestly, I don't know. The good people of nairaland can enlighten me on this.
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Investment for Nigerian Youths? by IAH(f): 2:57pm On Aug 03, 2005
To make many millions from stock market investing, you first of all have to have a few millions to invest!
Exactly! That's what I'm saying. You can't make your millions from scratch through shares investment. Well, maybe it's possible after like 80 years sha, your millions from shares will meet you in the grave. grin

Well, if anybody can provide me with a list of at least 10 Nigerians who made their millions solely on buying and selling shares, then I'm going to invest in it. rolleyes
CareerRe: Unemployment and the Population of Nigeria by IAH(f): 6:55pm On Aug 02, 2005
Kazey, you may go back and re-read your posts. Most of your statements show this. But this is an example of what you said that made me infer...

So you are telling me the organized mechanics, plumbers. etc in Nigeria that happen not to be educated and fortunately are doing fine, should go back to school and learn, then that would give us the pre-requisite to becoming developed?
FoodRe: Bukateria ("Buka") Food! by IAH(f): 6:22pm On Aug 02, 2005
When I was in secondary school, we used to jump over the fence to eat in buka! The favorite was Olubusayo Food canteen. We would eat betta amala, fufu or rice instead of the junk they served in the dining hall. Also when I was in OAU, there was a place called Buka and  the tradition is/was for your toasters to take you there to eat at the best eatery there called Spices. Even though the fried-rice was always smelling of smoke and the chicken was usually uncooked, you would still go back to brag to your room-mates that one bobo took you to Buka! Hmm...such funny memories of BUKA. grin
CareerRe: Unemployment and the Population of Nigeria by IAH(f): 6:05pm On Aug 02, 2005
Kazey,
Education does not necessarily mean going to school. From wikipedia.org, Education encompasses teaching and learning specific skills, and also something less tangible but more profound: the imparting of knowledge, good judgement and wisdom. Education has as one of its fundamental goals the imparting of culture from generation to generation.
So, Bioye is right in this sense. Everybody in Nigeria needs to be educated in whatever they are doing whether you are a mechanic, struggling entrepreneur, teacher, etc. to move the country forward. It doesn't have to be formal education. Lack of education is thus, indeed a problem...and education is the key.
RomanceRe: Let's Gist [caution] by IAH(f): 6:41pm On Jul 11, 2005
Oh! I now understand where you guys are coming from. You guys are talking of one-day-meeting and hitting it off straightaway. I mean Craig David's song: I met this girl on Monday, took her for a drink on Tuesday, we made love on Wednesday....... Tell you what...I don't do that ok? I have to know you very well before the issue of dating comes in. So I will definitely ask for his age and tell him mine when we are talking and if he, after finding out that I'm his big sister still goes ahead to ask me out then that definitely calls for insult!
As for kazey's scenario, the guy has not yet asked me out! He just wants to be my friend for crying out loud. That's the mistake some girls made, once a guy asks for their names, or says something nice, they take it that he wants to date them. So kazey, your character has not yet asked IAH out, he is only trying to be a friend.
RomanceRe: Let's Gist [caution] by IAH(f): 1:42pm On Jul 11, 2005
Hey! You guys don't have to attack me for saying what I feel and what I do! I think all you want is for us to be telling each other lies, lies, lies! If I had said I love younger guys to ask me out, you would have given me a pat on the back, right? Well, that's not the truth. We are all different people so try to accommodate that fact and stop all these. cool
BusinessRe: Is Self-Employment Ultimately Necessary for a Man? by IAH(f): 1:30pm On Jul 11, 2005
Well, kazey, looks like we both have different definitions of who a millionaire is. rolleyes
Having your own business ROCKS! We don't want to know whether it is stressful or not, it is simply better than the other option. I don't think it is less stressful working under somebody.

WebmastersRe: Website Design Critique by IAH(f): 3:37pm On Jul 09, 2005
IAH, most business sites do not have ads. Your assertion is ridiculous.
If your business does not have the resources to pay it's website hosting bill, how can I trust that you have the resources to satisfy my needs as a customer? It's shameful.
That is your own...I would encourage any small-business website to add unobtrusive ads like Google adsense anyday. It sure helps, even the giant Yahoo, google, AOL,etc. have ads. I take your use of the word "ridiculous" as insultive and uncalled for.

BusinessRe: Is Self-Employment Ultimately Necessary for a Man? by IAH(f): 1:29pm On Jul 09, 2005
Are we talking of millionaire in annual salary or millionaire in the real sense of the word. Somebody earning N1.5M per annum is NOT a millionaire. I would count a millionaire(in Naija terms) as somebody who can produce N1million naira if I tap my fingers 1...2 without blinking.
As for the question, the best thing is to be your own boss. You are limited by working under somebody.
