Education › Re: Anambra University Lecturer Gives Free Textbooks To Students by iamclime(m): 10:08pm On Mar 25, 2019 |
I remember Professor Linus Osuagwu (of LASU Marketing fame), now of AUN, giving us the best students in his course Entrepreneurship Development autographed copies of his textbook in final year 2007. I cherish the book till this day. He also mentored some of us in learning the rudiments of data analysis using SPSS. I'm still earning from that knowledge till now. There are lecturers who love their profession and the students they teach/mentor. And there are those who are just frustrated about everything. The latter are more abundant in our tertiary education system. May God help us. |

mosho2good: I love this Story,
A woman went shopping. At the cash counter, she opened her purse to pay.
The cashier noticed a TV remote in her purse.
He could not control his curiosity and asked,
"Do you always carry your TV remote with you?"
She replied " No, not always, but my husband refused to accompany me shopping today because of football match, so I took the remote."
*Moral: Accompany and support your wife in her hobbies.....*
The story continues....
The cashier laughed and then returned all the items that lady had purchased.
Shocked at this act, she asked the cashier what he was doing.
He said, "your husband has blocked your credit card.........."
*MORAL: Always respect the hobbies of your husband.*
Story continues....
Wife took out her husband's credit card from purse and swiped it. Unfortunately he didn't block his own card.
*Moral: Don't underestimate the power and wisdom of your WIFE..*
Story continues...
After swiping, the machine indicated, 'ENTER THE PIN SENT TO YOUR MOBILE PHONE'.......
*Moral: When a man tends to lose, the machine is smart enough to save him!*
Story continues....
She smiled to herself and reached out for the mobile which rang in her purse.
It was her husband's phone showing the forwarded SMS.
She had taken it with the remote control so he doesn't call her during her shopping.
She bought her items and returned home happily.
*Moral: Don't underestimate a desperate woman!*
Story continues....
On getting home, his car was gone.
A note was pasted on the door
"Couldn't find the remote. Gone out with the boys to watch the premiership match. Will be home late. Call me on my phone if you need something".
Damn... He left with the house key too.
*Moral: Don't try to control your husband!* You will always lose
Don't laugh alone. Nice one! A nice plot twist too! I'm saving this. |

I participated last year and added real value to myself. Note though, that this is not a job. It's an opportunity to learn more about international development (what NGOs/INGOs do) and position yourselves for future opportunities in that area. It's a part-funded internship, so be prepared to pay your own part of the funding. And be ready to be committed to participating fully in the group discussions, assignments, etc. Just make sure that you have read ALL the requirements and instructions and you're okay with them before proceeding. Nuff said. Peace! |

biggal: Having checked all abtbthem my brothers and sisters don't argue just find way to unfollow, report and block them in all the social media handles you are following. Both Lami Pamaren is nothing but scam using Nigerian youth unemployment plight to scam us. Do quick before he restrategise.
He keep on post pining close of application. No genuine thing on the page that befits an international stuff. Hes only interested in getting followers in all the social media tats why he said the more social platforms you are the better chances you have. Na our fellow nairaland member tat is hustling for social media followers. Act fast before you risk loosing your important info. I wouldn't categorically call it a scam. But I sense some red flags in a recruitment process that mandates candidates to follow several social media platforms before proceeding with their applications. I even raised the issue with Lami Pamaren (maybe on FB or LI, can't remember). But he/she never replied to my concerns and questions. Something is not adding with this SUSDEVI thing. I pulled out of the recruitment a long time ago. Best wishes to all who are hoping in it. |

Health › Re: I Tested Positive To Hepatitis C by iamclime(m): 8:34pm On Mar 11, 2019 |
Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C (HBV and HCV) are viral diseases. In fact, Hepatitis C kills more people in Nigeria than HIV/AIDS. It's often called the Silent Killer because of the apparent lack of awareness of it's causes and effects among the general population. However, it's treatable (at least, the viral load can be greatly reduced) with proper medication. You will need to make drastic changes to your lifestyle, health management, diet, etc. You will have to be VERY strict with the treatment regimen. Please go to a teaching/reference hospital. Private medical facilities will take all your money. |

Hadampson: @dejol88
Firstly, any country that you want to go, don't use agents or send anybody money, especially on this forum. That 6 million naira don enter their brain. Na to use conning ways to extort some money from you if not all.
Secondly, if i were you, i would look for one peaceful African country and establish business in the country. 6 million naira is a chicken change if you want to go to the USA. Some African countries have favorable conditions for business. Example is Rwanda
But if you want to go to first world country, i would suggest you choose either Germany, Canada, Australia or New Zealand.
Best input so far, in my humble opinion. Rwanda has been dancing in my subconscious for some time now. The dance intensified when a friend who returned from S.A told me about his conversation with a Nigerian scholar in Rwanda onboard his RwandAir flight back to Nigeria. We just need a system that works. Where we can have good roads/transport system, electricity and ease of doing business. I'm tired of paying for what I do not consume! Bros, it's not all about Canada, U.S or Europe. There are nice places in Africa, especially if you like a quiet life devoid of the mad rush of Nigerian cities. #Shalom |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: I NEED A JOB PLEASE by iamclime(m): 9:41pm On Feb 26, 2019 |
It's sad, really. But just keep pushing; you'll soon smile. For a start, try to update your CV whenever applying for jobs. Remember to adapt the CV to fit the job requirements, without telling lies or claiming what you're not. And ensure you meet job requirements before applying. Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) are being used by many organisations to filter candidates these days. Read up on what it does and how it works.
Whatever the case, your time will come soon! Keep smiling! |
