Many factors will affect the timing of your programme: your own aptitude, the school's Academic calendar, the scope and nature of your research, the supervisor, other vicissitudes of life, et cetera.
In all, if time (duration of programme) is the pivotal consideration in your choice of school, PLEASE do not choose any university that will most certainly join any ASUU Strike. You can rest assured that with the current permutations in our University system in Nigeria, ASUU will most likely embark on at least one strike action every year. I speak from experience as both a former Professional University Administrator and graduate student. Best wishes.

I have found from experiences and counselings that couples who have weak links in their relationship have the most outlandish and open display of affection. They, many a times, showcase a perfect chemistry in the open but suffer severe depression and lack of communication when alone.

Not all the words are quite correct, though, grammatically and semantically. Sweat is òógùn, climb-gùn (verb), long-gùn (can be an adjective or a verb), e.g ó gùn ( it's long). Yorùbá is a diacritical/tonal language. Writing/pronouncing it without diacritics spoils the beauty and distorts the meaning!

Someone was telling me something similar.. that someone from Abuja came to his state asking about him and fortunately the guy from Abuja is a friend to his uncle. funny but true. happened this week.

It's not just possible, it's the reality. Will you yourself employ someone for a serious role in your organization without proper background checks? NNPC will consider State of origin, quota system and federal character in their employment, to a large extent. You can take that to the bank!
Bro, I also have a colleague who told me that someone came all the way from Abuja to his family compound to make enquiries about his brother before he was given appointment for a federal government job.

If you were able to submit your application and you got a confirmation, you have crossed the first hurdle. Information from VERY close quarters says that the process is going to be MERIT-DRIVEN and the age requirement is going to be strictly enforced. Enough said.

I know Professor Dapo Asaju personally and have worked with him at higher levels on very challenging and sensitive work in University Administration. I can confidently say that he is a man of his words. He is very open and approachable and gives regard to all, irrespective of their status or stature. He doesn't tolerate nonsense and abuse of privileges either, and may get highly frustrated at such things.
For our beloved professor to have written this, the parents and children's cups must have been full and running over. I may not agree with his choice of words in some parts of the write-up, but I can bet you that one of the most difficult people to manage in Nigeria are cosseted, obstreperous children with a sense of entitlement, who also believe in instant self gratification! I have been there. Enough said.

Some years ago, I travelled all the way from Ebonyi state (Night bus) to write aptitude test at Ikeja cantonment for this NNPC graduate trainee thing. There was so much crowd that day. Infact a lady came in her wedding gown as it was a saturday (lol).

I knew right there at the venue that I've wasted my tfare when I saw an old friend whose father is a topshot in NNPC. The guy came all the way from the UK to write the test.

Several years down the line, we have not heard 'pa' or 'po' from NNPC, my friend is now a manager there now.

I'm not discouraging anybody from applying o.
The system might have changed now or God might say it's your time.

Was it the one conducted at Sam Ethnan Airforce Base, Ikeja? Around 2010/2011? Men, that was a day to remember! I even saw a highly reputed lecturer from my alma mater who brought his son with his official car.
Thousands of Nigerian graduates, all with 2.1 and First Class, queued up from the express up to the primary schools at the end of the base. Nothing has been heard till date.
But we keep doing our best; success in life is not tied to working with NNPC!
