[quote author=Mynd44 post=82003688]UN studies have actually shown that students are more likely to pick up if the teacher speaks their home language. If a teacher with a large population of Tiv students teaches Physics in Tiv, more students are likely to understand and pass. English is just one language not a universal language. What language do you think they teach Maths in in China? Exactly what we have been advocating for years, based on personal experience and research. I hope policy makers in Nigeria will wake up one day. People now equate being able to speak English to being smart, intelligent, or educated. But the reality, even here on Nairaland, says otherwise! |
There are many data analysis tools and software, depends on what you want. But for a start, search for Utiva online. Peace. |
Informative and timely piece! Well done, Op. |

Processed urine? Distilled? Boiled? Fermented? Refined? I'm interested in the process. This may be a new product idea! |

And what is the website of "THE MOST POPULAR BUSINESS SCHOOL IN NIGERIA"? We need to know. |
I was in Tarkwa Bay last in 2002 for a group family vacation. We had maaaad fun! We lodged in a guest house we later learnt was used by the Israeli special security men of the Abacha era. The bed could contain 6 persons conveniently. We climbed the lighthouse (which was about 110 years old as at then) and toured Lord Lugard's house (or what remained of it). Then we paid a visit to the Baale (Chief) of the island. We went swimming and crab hunting. Spent a full weekend there. Men, those were the days! I still thought of going to Tarkwa Bay this morning. |
ENACTUS, nice one for CU. I remember those days when ENACTUS used to be Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE). FUTA, LASU, OAU, KADPOLY, etc used to slug it out at the Regional/National Competitions. Remembered the last one we attended at Golden Gate, Ikoyi. It was great, just great! My, my, time flies! |
Take note of , and do , the following ; - Till you get your job..you have no other business on the internet besides searching job boards and applying for roles. - For most multinationals ..first screening is done by a robot. Before uploading your cv , you need to tailor it such that all keywords in the job description are on your CV. Don’t just develop a general CV and throw at every job. - You need interview experience. Apply and interview for jobs / companies you know you wouldn’t even want to work for...wether na egg dem dey pack there o ..or Na car wash ..as far as dem advertise vacancy ..throw your CV..after attending a few interviews , you would be less nervous when THE INTERVIEW comes...I was so confident at the interview that finally got me a job that I wasn’t worried sharing 2 to 3 big stouts with one of my yeye paddies before the interview. - Do some research about any company interviewing you. Products ..Services...Competition..previous year financials..etc - Don’t limit yourself geographically...and I don’t mean Nigeria..the world has really gone smaller..one of my mumu guys for Ilorin throw CV to Multinational wey dey UK ..dem fly am go interview for Ghana..before you know he was in the UK with the firm..no foreign masters ..nothing ..2-2 from Ilorin village - You get a regret email ?... look at what you might have missed /done wrong and reapply immediately if possible. Those days I would be on my computer applying ..regret email notification comes in..I yinmu..finish the one I dey do..go to that regret email and reapply ... These up here are nuggets of advice that I also like to give. Keep improving with every application. And keep your options open. And remember that ATS has come to stay in sifting applications. Make your CV ATS compliant. Best wishes |
[quote author=AntiBrutus post=80194364]Been to Atican, Elegushi and Oniru... The road to Atican is really bad, too sandy and gallopy. The beach itself was okay. I think we paid 1k each to get in. I found Elugushi crowded, with lots of juveniles. This one collected N500 or so. Oniru was just there. Tarkwa Bay is the beach to beat out of this list. Was there in 2002. Haven't had the chance to revisit. Should be planning that soon. Badagry beaches are nice too, safe for the tortuous Badagry road. You can relax at Suntan Beach, Aivoji Beach, Ar-Rakhab, etc |

Whatever the hype, I will NEVER board PMT to anywhere. Unless I have no other choice. If you know, you know. |
Erediauwa:That is not one vote; it's 1% of the total respondents, which could number into thousands, depending on the sample size. |
Hope you're on LinkedIn? You may get more exposure and opportunities there. |

It's not difficult to spot a fake interview invite. All the telltale signs are there. Look closely. Blessings |
Atom007:And don't you think you need that sense more than I do? What gave you the inkling that I don't have mine? |
Location ? I have a candidate |
Mention the name of the company. Let's know firms like this. Because I'm sure they'll still pull this stunt on others in the not-so-distant future. |

Richybryn:If you'll like for her to have a taste of adventure at Badagry, holler at me. We'll arrange a nice package for you. |
