MENZPRIDE: I guessed, you have not been following... You couldn't prove your case @ the High Court, you couldn't prove your case @ the Appeal Court, na Supreme Court you wan show your "sabinus"? The SCOTUS is made up of nine (9) Justices. Three (3) Democrats and six (6) Republican. Of the six(6) GOP, three (3) are appointed by Trump... None of them dissented... Omo I'm speechless. United states supreme court in Washington has not heard this case much less ruled on it. You are all confusing state supreme courts with federal. I no dey reply una again abeg |

rolams: What are you saying? Is this what you will be teaching your children? What is the full meaning of SCOTUS? I can simply see why you blindly believe Trump false allegations.
SCOTUS means the SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATE
For your mind, how many supreme Court do we have? Don't be too quick to insult people and declare yourself all knowing. A little Google search will clear your doubt. Every state has a supreme court in US which are different from the only SCOTUS sitting in Washington with 9 justices. Read! |

rolams: How are those cases dismissed without hearing them. Is that lie Trump is telling you guys. You failed to realize we are talking about US here. They hate anything that will tarnish the image of their nation.
If I may ask you, how many times have you heard Biden or Democrats talk about the court cases? They already knew they have won. You talk about US like it's a country inhabited by angels! The image is already tarnishes with the massive kano votes manufactured every night for one week. See nobody can authoritative say how this will end. There are strong arguments for and against and Bidens silence proves nothing The supreme court decision will be final but until them it's fingers crossed for me |

rolams: Hahaha. All 35 cases dismissed at the lower court. Nevada, Georgia and PA supreme Court dismissed Trump cases. What else again. If you are appointed a supreme Court Justice, is this how you will pass your judgement? Somebody claiming victory or fraud without any tangible proof trying hard to cancel black Americans vote you are telling us one story. If you truly follow the news, you won't waste your precious time believing Trump dead cases. Dismissing cases at lower courts without even hearing them does not mean they cannot be overturned at federal supreme court. I wouldn't sound so sure of the outcome if I were you. There are several possibilities here and even the biden camp know it |

rolams: Did you have another supreme Court that is different from the ones striking out Trump cases? The apex court in each state in US is also called supreme court (more like our state high court) This should not be confused with SCOTUS which is the national supreme court. This US election is not yet uhuru as I see it. It might be decided by congressional vote in the end |

BafanaBafana: Sitting on the fence but both legs are in Trump's compound. Did you hear that the supreme court dismissed Trump's case 35 minutes after filing it with just a single sentence? They didn't even take their time to read the case files to the end before dismissing it. And you think that's the proper way to dismiss a case? If this happened in Nigeria we will be crying foul. You don't have to like Trump but it is very clear that democrat activist judges in those swing states are blinded by hate for Trump so much so that they conclude on the merit of cases before hearing them |
Nairaland General › Re: Biden's Presidency: The Beginning Of China's End? by Iamzik: 4:30pm On Dec 10, 2020 |
Eaglecrwn: The Trump Administration had taken an appropriately aggressive approach towards countering the malicious and tyrannical policies of the Chinese communist government. With the elections in USA over, all eyes are on President elect Joe Biden - What will be his strategy to contain China's nefarious intentions? If experts are to be believed, China is going to have a very tough time in the wake of Biden's presidency.
During a meeting of bipartisan governors at Delaware, Joe Biden was asked if he wanted to punish China for the way it has been behaving. Taking a tough stance, he responded by saying that it wasn't about punishing the Chinese, but about making sure they understand they have to play by the rules. There's no doubt Joe Biden is not a fan of the current Chinese regime. In February, he made it clear during a debate that he would not allow the Chinese to build critical US infrastructure, going as far as to call the Chinese President, Xi jinping, a "Thug".
Biden has also made it clear that those Chinese companies that steal US technology - as they've been known to do so on multiple occasions - will be cut off from the US market and Financial system. Despite China's disapproval, he has long been in support of Taiwan and it's democratically elected government.
The abuse of Human rights by the Chinese regime is also major issue raised by Biden. Biden's campaign had labelled the targeting of Uyghur Muslims a "genocide" back in August. He also enjoys this support of the pro democracy advocates in Hong Kong, where the Chinese have cracked down of civil liberties. In September, Biden announced that if he was voted to power, he would sanction the Chinese officials responsible for Human rights abuses in Tibet. He added that he would meet the Dalai Lama and appoint a new special coordinator for Tibetan affairs.
Embittered by Biden's win, Zheng yongnian, a Chinese government adviser said that it cannot be assumed that US-China relations will get better under the new administration. He added that Joe Biden was a very weak president who could start a war. It is very apparent that Beijing is scared that Biden will put an end to it's bloodthirsty egocentric agenda.
The Chinese shouldn't forget Biden has decades of experience when it comes to dealing with China. During his tenure as the Vice president under Obama's administration, he visited Beijing multiple times to gather support for Obama's key policies. It would nothing but foolishness on the part of the Chinese to take Biden lightly. China will be very happy to have a Biden presidency rather than Trump. Biden got no spine to stand-up to China or Russia |

theoldpretender: They may not reach the level of 3-4 homework per day, but they do do homework in schools in the USA.
And then there are countries like Japan and Singapore and China...where homework and extra school work is a way of life.
Well, I doubt that American students are that lazy.....
And then there is this
With my youngest child just months away from finishing high school, I’m remembering all the needless misery and missed opportunities all three of my kids suffered because of their endless assignments. When my daughters were in middle school, I would urge them into bed before midnight and then find them clandestinely studying under the covers with a flashlight. We cut back on their activities but still found ourselves stuck in a system on overdrive, returning home from hectic days at 6 p.m. only to face hours more of homework. Now, even as a senior with a moderate course load, my son, Zak, has spent many weekends studying, finding little time for the exercise and fresh air essential to his well-being. Week after week, and without any extracurriculars, Zak logs a lot more than the 40 hours adults traditionally work each week — and with no recognition from his “bosses” that it’s too much. I can’t count the number of shared evenings, weekend outings and dinners that our family has missed and will never get back.
Anectdoctal....but that is an American parent talking about her child's homeworks…(Sauce)
I am not a teacher, and I was in school (pry and secondary) in the 1980's and 1990's. I went to a private school that gave me homework 4-5 times a week. Helped me work really hard...because really I was a lazy individual...…..who needed some pushing to get things done. All the loads of assignments on outdated curriculums what has it benefited us? Head knowledge, no social skills, no practicals and you think that is OK? Pupils are thought to memorize components of computer system in a school without a computer lab. If you think that system of education is OK then I rest my case |

Benefits of homework...
1.Helps student do work independently..and thus develop a vital skill valued by employers.
2.Helps student understand what was taught in class.
3.Helps student exercise brain...which is very good in preventing dementia.
4.Helps student study for examinations...because it might come out on the test.
5.Helps student learn skills like...research, writing, solving problems, etc.
6. Teaches student the value of work under all conditions.
7. Helps student bond more with parents.
8.Helps student learn co-operation....which helps in problem solving.
9.Learning, learning, and learning.
If you think that learning can only be done between 8am to 2 pm in the school....you need help.
Thank you. I beg to differ. Americans schools and most developed world who are leading innovation do not bombard kids with 3 or 4 homework per day. No wonder all we know is book. Innovation zero Academic homework is once per week and most times the assignment is for the student to visit a park or beach with their parent and share a verbal account with colleagues during class interaction. This for all of us shouting "Atikulated, Atikulation etc" it will be so stupid and demeaning of us if we don't go out to vote on Saturday thinking that the "likes, shares" favoring Atiku here on Nairaland, Facebook, Instagram and other forms of social media will transform to him coasting to victory. No, it won't. Brush aside the thinking the ruling party will rig the election thereby holding you back that you won't vote. One of the reason a political party or incumbent can rig successfully without been known to the populace is when one political party present an unpopular candidate(s) where the "rigger" present popular candidates(s). To be honest with ourselves both of them President Buhari himself and Atiku are popular candidates in every spheres of the country while Atiku has more followers in the South South and South East of the country. For Dullardhino to rig without uproar in the country will be same as Man City scoreline against Chelsea yesterday (apologies to Chelsea Fans) because all of us will be present to know what each candidates has right from the polling units to local government collation centres up to top thereby giving us red flags whenever what we expect to hear is different from they are telling us (Results). And for those of you clamouring and willing to vote for any third force, kwantinue...You are just wasting your vote or supporting Buhari indirectly. Don't get me wrong, i will be foolish not to know that APC and PDP are rogues, I know quite well because I'm a realist Nigerian but I'm choosing the preferred "Robinhood" against "integrity" who abhor criminals and a harbinger of death, pains, sorrow tears and blood.

The President merely obeyed the CCT. Leave my Bubu alone abeg...
None of you have asked the CJN to honourably recuse himself. When the constitution was created, the drafters erroneously assumed that the all the actors in it had some iota of shame. Clearly they were wrong, Onnoghen has no shame. Prior to this bogus CCT order, there was a federal high court order asking the CCT to stay action on the case and restraining the presidency from taking any further action until onnoghen's fate it is determined by the court. You can't pick and choose which court order to obey. By the way CCT reports to the presidency. It is not independent of the executive and the president can shop for whatever order he wishes. The president has no constitutional power to unilaterally suspend the head of a coequal branch of government which he cannot unilaterally appoint. There is no constitutional provision for a situation where you have two CJNs- one appointed and one suspended! Let that sink in for a moment NBA will not recognize the appointed CJN neither will NJC. Let him call for meeting and attend it alone |
