When the government kill people for some certain crimes.. it's normal and not barbaric BUT KILLING PEOPLE FOR TURNING THEIR BACKS ON THEIR CREATOR AND FOR THEIR SLANDERS... it's barbaric.

Even self made religion like Christianity and others have it to kill people for apostasy talkless of divine religion

The next generation disaster that would soon face the
Western Nigeria is the Yoruba Muslims. They are myopic and think themselves demigods in Yoruba land.

See u that understands Islam.

Where is ur understanding when ur education has no meaning to u. How u can u glorify the killing of people because they differ in opinion about your religion.

It is only Islam that glorifies killing of people for their god,a god that can't move a stone an inch yet u kill for it,an Arabian gods for that matter.

Where is ur understanding when your reasoning is beclouded. Many of u who are Muslims are not even comfortable living among muslims...that is why u guys are running down south on a daily basis just to cause mayhem and to spread your evil deeds around the country.

This govt has destroyed souls, destroyed businesses, created more hopelessness for innocent young men and women.

In fact, whether u agree with me or not, everyone is desperate like no other time in our history

Today, most of our young girls are now into prostitution because of the failure of the current govt to create an economic system that would benefits the poor and the downtrodden.

Shey na one man keep 1.9 billion for house, while the poor around him perish...this photographer could have been saved if he has got enough to live for.

This government has made suicide enticing, and hence the need for us to put heads together and vote out these criminals.

If any man must survive in this country...he needs a supporting spouse.

If not,u are on a high way to early death. In the southern part of Nigeria especially igbo land where I come from,we have more grandma's than grandpa's.

In fact, men are dying in regrettable numbers because they are just providing ,providing and keep providing without support from their wives. (although there are some women who are secretly the bread winners...May God bless them).

Oga,to be Frank with u,u are over trying and u need your wife to help u out honestly. Body no be firewood. Her money is good for wearing good clothes while u labour like jacki (donkey).

Family › Re: Do Nigerian Women Have The Right To Inherit Properties by ibechris(op):
This is an eye opener for those who so believed that the girl child has no place when it comes to property inheritance.

For me as an Igbo man,I have come to have a progressive opinion about this issue hence, I can no longer tow the line of our ancestors that continue to deprive our women of their rights to own what Should have been theirs, which the age long tradition has denied them for many centuries especially in igbo land.
Family › Do Nigerian Women Have The Right To Inherit Properties by ibechris(op): 7:56am On Jun 23, 2022
Spoken in hush tones and taught to girls from a tender age, the age-long question often causes a stir when asked.

The edition of the International Women’s Day is worth a trip down the annals of history to explore an empowering decision of the Nigerian judiciary, when the Supreme Court affirmed the right of Nigerian women to inherit properties from their deceased parents. This is the case of Ukeje & Anor v Ukeje (2014) LPELR-22724(SC) where Lord Olabode Rhodes-Vivour JSC made the noteworthy pronouncement that:

“No matter the circumstances of the birth of a female child, such a child is entitled to an inheritance from her late father’s estate. Consequently the Igbo customary law which disentitles a female child from partaking, in the sharing of her deceased father’s estate is in breach of Section 42 (1) and (2) of the Constitution, a fundamental rights provision guaranteed to every Nigerian. The said discriminatory customary law is void as it conflicts with Section 42(1) and (2) of the Constitution.”

This decision settled beyond all doubts, the fundamental right of a female to participate in the inheritance of her deceased father’s estate. The judgment of the Court in this case is of very significant value to Nigerian women because the Nigerian judiciary has experienced a chequered history on this issue of the right of women to inherit their deceased father’s properties, in light of the various customary laws in some parts of the country which prohibits women from participating in such inheritance.

For instance, in 1963, the Supreme Court had in the case of Nezianya & Anor v Okagbue & ors (1963) 1 All NLR 352, held that a widow is a recognised member of her late husband’s family and not a stranger to it, and thus permitted to live in her late husband’s house, but she was not permitted to dispose the property by giving it out or selling it. This 1963 decision left women handicapped as they were incapable of exercising ownership rights over the properties of their late husband.

This 1963 judgment also formed the basis of support for the old Igbo “Oli-Ekpe” custom which stated that only the eldest surviving male off-spring could inherit the property of their late father and prohibited female inheritance because the judgment suggested that ownership of property should be restricted to the patrilineal lineage of the deceased.

However, in 1997, the Late Niki Tobi (Justice of the Court of Appeal) was bold enough to declare this “Oli-Ekpe” custom as being repugnant to natural justice, equity and good conscience in the famous case of Mojekwu v Mojekwu (1997) LPELR-13777(CA). In this case, the erudite Niki Tobi JCA took great pains to condemn this custom – and other customary practices – which discriminated against women, for being repulsive to equity in the modern day. This decision was widely hailed as a step in the right direction in the advocacy for women’s rights. Several other decisions of the Court of Appeal delivered between 1997-2003 followed this reasoning and affirmed the rights of women to own, inherit and purchase property.

The victory gained by the pronouncement of Niki Tobi JCA in this case was however short-lived, as the erudite Niki Tobi JCA was harshly criticised for the statement he made about the repugnancy of Oli-Ekpe custom by his superiors when the case was further appealed to the Supreme Court in Mojekwu v. Iwuchukwu (2004) LPELR-1903(SC). The Supreme Court was of the opinion that Niki Tobi JCA should not have made the statement without calling all relevant parties who engaged in such discriminatory practices against women from explaining their side of the story. The harsh remark of the Supreme Court in this appeal gave further impetus to the propounders of the Oli-Ekpe and other similar customary practices to persist in their discrimination against women in the sharing of family inheritance.

Hence, the recent position taken by the Supreme Court in Ukeje & Anor v Ukeje (Supra) has therefore provided the much needed clarity on the right of all genders – women inclusive – to participate in the inheritance of their parents’ properties. The effect of this judgment which is binding in all parts of Nigeria is that females have an equal stake to inherit their parent’s properties, as do their male counterparts.

According to your tradition as yoruba.

That land is for everyone in your family because I have seen where women even partake in the sharing of property in yoruba land.

For the fact that the property is not more than this one in Mushin,u guys have the inheritable rights to demand for what rightly belongs to every member of the family.

However,if u go to court,u are sure to win this case, since u guys are not igbos whose tradition differs a bit when it comes to inheritance. NB(I am igbo for those who might come with their negativity)

Go for it but if u smell evil coming, just leave him otherwise cases like this might become too bloody.

But I am sure u will win this cos your dad is very much alive to testify and if u want your case to have weight, make a video asking your dad everything about the said land...this is because age is no longer on his side, what if he is not there to give his own side of the story, don't u think the earlier the better?

Make hay when the sun shines.
Good luck to u and the rest of the family.

My parents saw the change in me and that brought hope to me until I eventually gained admission and graduated. Today,I am the best among all my peers.
Relocated and got married and doing fine with my life.

Solution:

1. Relocate and start a new life.
2. Learn a trade as soon as possible if u can.
3. Humble yourself and stop comparing yourself with your mates.
4. Forget your past,as everyone has his or her past.
5. Blame no one for your inability to get to where u want to be.
6. Think! Think! and keep thinking of what to do and focus on it.

Good luck.

bepositive11:
Great discipline suggestions at the end. But do you really think that beating a child with a belt is a good thing? Do you think that your dad beating you was a good thing? Did it have any negative impact on your self esteem or mental health?

If you were to carry a belt to beat an adult, what will the adult do? Will they tolerate it? If I were to carry a belt to beat you, how will you respond? Now imagine a child who doesn't have the ability to stand up for his/herself.

Where do.we draw the line between physical, emotional, and psychological abuse and discipline? Abusing a child is training them for abusive relationships
When u born your own u can do as u like.

Stop being too correct.
I am sure u are in the moon...we are Africans if u can hear me,pls do! Our inability to discipline our children is the reason why there are indiscipline in this country.

And funny as it seems, people like u are the reason why Nigeria is in this mess. Many times u guys want to bring foreign cultures over how our parent trained us up.
Even the Bible is no exception on how a child should be discipline, yes the Bible emphasised on that and makes no mistake about that.

What does the Bible say?

1. Proverbs 23:13-14 Don’t fail to discipline your children. They won’t die if you spank them. Physical discipline may well save them from death.

2. Proverbs 13:24 Whoever does not discipline his son hates him, but whoever loves him is diligent to correct him.

3. Proverbs 22:15 A child’s heart has a tendency to do wrong, but the rod of discipline removes it far away from him.

4. Proverbs 22:6 Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it

Lastly, there are no general rules for every family when it comes to disciplining your children, that is why what works for u may not work for me.
I bet u,if my father had not disciplined me the way he did,I am sure I could have ended badly and terribly at that.

So,think about this and know that we are not white people who glorify indiscipline, hence battling with whole lot of vices such as same sex marriage, legalisation of prostitution, gun crisis and u name it.

Let us do what is right before our God and fellow man.
