Yorubas have been too meek.
I hope to see a change. Kudos for giving outsiders so much space and freedown in our land. But to allow them to take us over will be tantamount to reckless and careless self destruction.
We are facing a threat and that threat must be dealt with and totally annihilated. Sleeping and over-relaxed time is over! |

Ojukwu lead you people into a senseless war that nearly costed your whole existence. Irrational, emotional people like you still full Igbo land christopher123: our people will say in igbo.... anu na ngwo maka na nkwu na abia.. relax dont worry, INEC is there, so they have their permutation, it is now abut how many votes you have but how many states you win....if BUHARI HAS ONE BILLION VOTES in 5 states and GOODLUCK has 1 million votes in 10 states, good luck wins by the virtue of Majority states not majority votes. For you to win this election you must be acceptable in two third of the states and from the look of thing BUHARI is only acceptable in North not even in south West cos Ekiti is PDP, SOUTH EAST IS PDP, we are awaiting south south LOL Sadly this country is not one and would never ever be one. The stubborn Nigerianist like OBJ, David Mark dem are just deceiving themselves. I see bloodshed along the way and it would start in Lagos. Igbo bombasticness and chest beating will almost certainly trigger it like it did in the North in the 60s. NB - Yesteday I told my caretaker to give all my tenants (90% Igbos) quit notice. He responded that he can only replace them with Igbo people and that if they leave Lagos, many Yoruba landlords will starve. Its a real quagmire. |

IGBO people listen to these comment carefully and thoughtfully Awoofawo: Let me ask you! WHO ARE PDP PARTY CHIEFTANC IN LAGOS AND S.WEST? Igbo or Yoruba.............? Do you think without input of those party godfathers Igbo or any other tribes would be able to emerged as the party candidate in Lagos? You are talking trash, go and learn about politic strategy, I repeat your tribe is am expendable entity in Nigeria politic.... GentleToks: The same mistake your progenitors made in the North when your progenitors were growing in population, politics and business in Kano before they were caught out. Before 2015 election or better still before Jonathan tenure, Yorubas have moved on from ethnic/tribal politics. They never see Igbos as a political threat in their land but having heard and experienced your repulsive utterances and attitude in the last 4 years, trust me, this is end of the road to any Igbo politician in South West. However, let me quickly refresh your memory as regards what happened in post 1963 election, Yorubas loved and voted for Nnamdi Azikiwe party in Lagos; they didn't see things from tribal perspectives until your progenitors started what you are doing now and that was end of their political relevance in South West. I remember Yorubas telling you here that Jonathan will not be voted in South west but you all thought it was a joke until you see the result. I am betting you on this, come 2019, the Igbos are gone and none ll be allowed to come back again. Finally, it's ok to give a minority group a chance as far as politics is concerned in a cosmopolitan city like Lagos just like every other cosmopolitan cities around the world where Nigerians are holding political offices; it would have been absurd for Nigerians to start rubbing their political success and relevance to their hosts'faces; that they are taking over their city. It ll naturally send a red alert to the host community. This repulsive attitude of Igbos will even cause chaos in developed countries such as: Britain, US, Canada etc NB, Edo state has always been our brothers and sisters regardless what you Igbos say or do. If you go into Yoruba part of Nollywood, you ll see the likes of Mercy Aigb, Liz, Toyin Aimhaku, Doris etc and these ladies are doing exceptionally well without being discriminated against..... This is what most Yorubas are doing in South west to some of Igbos who are not financially ok and I guess there are so many stories like mine..... I never see Igbo as Igbo until I joined Nairaland. We have a tenant called Sunday from Enugu as we chat here, he used to be a businessman who owns a big pharmaceutical store. Thus, things began to change from financial freedom to financial chaos. He couldn't even feed himself and his younger ones from Enugu talk less of paying his house rent. My old yoruba took these people like their own and started treating them like their children even to the point that my girlfriend then couldn't believe that we r not in a way related. However, after one year of not paying a penny, my parents called my attention that Sunday and his younger ones are not paying rent and being fed by them, I told my parents to continue to do what they r doing. |

What have they done with the huge allocations over the years? Nothing. Oil is a natural resource - a fusselised fuel thats taken millions of years to form -, they have produced nothing in Nigeria other than oil is extracted from the territory they occupy. The oil has been there long before humans evolved. So they cant claim credit for it, they did not produce it. they can hence lick my arssss. Yorubaman |

All commentators and respondents are Igbos (and a few Yorubas) so we cant really get a picture of what is happening fully.
The Northerners (the majority by a long shot) do not comment on Nairaland. The Igbo ones are only interested in listening to their own voice and views.
The Yorubas are there to antagonise and rob-it into the Igbos.
Buhari should carry the day based on the population of Northern electorates and discontent of the Yorubas. |

owobokiri: There is no scortched earth policy your buhari can implement that he and his likes haven't done before. What are you going to do really? Stop infastructural developments in the SE? There is none going on there since the end of the war. Ban importation? That has been tried and igbo traders have mastered the art of circumventing that. Exclude igbo from the skewed privatisations? Kill them? You already killed 3 million and you still have them as obstinate as ever. What are you going to do really? Station a squadron of ppolicemen at every igbo mans door and prevent him from going out to 'hustle" since as long as he hustles, he will be fine.. . Jokes apart, you will be surprised at the shortage of options left unused when it comes to taming these ' sturborn' igbos. . Ego centric tribalist, I am sick and tired of the myth of Igbo business this and that. Igbos have done nothing special other than importing and trading aggressively and because the other tribes allow them. |
