This is a flawed way of looking at things considering majority of the goals he scored for Dortmund came in his last season. Add up his goals in the first 2 seasons and its not up to his best ever tally in a season as a pro footballer. So where is the consistency here?

Also considering the following
- He is 2 years older than Hazard
- He played in the Burnthisleagedown. The league that has shitty defences that ship in goals and always ranks as one of the highest scoring leagues at that time

I am not making excuses for Hazard but i feel he is at times being treated unfairly on these boards. Imagine o, He was barely 21 before he left Lille, but you expected him to outsocre Moussa Sow and Gervinho who were 5 and 4 years older than him at the time. Haba! Pa Ibime. .
Both of us should not be too far in age, unless you were 12 years old when you joined Nairaland.

10 years goal difference average per season is very significant. That means on average he would have 40 more goals contribution that Hazard in the 4 years he has been at Chelsea.

Mkhitaryan's 2nd year was when Dortmund went through the slump similar to Chelsea's last season. We cannot leave Hazard's last season out and include Mkhitaryan's 2015.

The fact is that anyone that tries to create a comparison between Mkhitaryan and Hazard based on goal contribution is making a rod for his own back.

Actually Oscar and Matic are both playing in central midfield this season. The statisticsame show that Oscar has had more defensive contribution than Matic, more offensive contribution than Matic, more anything than Matic.

The question here is why Matic deserves to start ahead of Fabregas. That's what I'm asking you sir.

All your other yarns are deflections. Matic was not playing DM when he came to Chelsea, and Oscar was playing right wing, so leave the natural yarns to discussion on farmland bro.
Bros, #leaaaaaveityeaaaaaaah

I would be very stewpid to be discussing nonsense about Matic and Oscar with you.

I know Oscar's flopping is biting you yet again this year.

For one, I don't discuss no of tackles made because that is a foolish metric that depends on style of play. Makelele made very few tackles, but preferred shepherding players into cul-de-sacs.

For two, my loyalty is not misplaced. What do I look like discussing nonsense about tackles made and key passes of a 4 year flop against Matic? It's like me arguing stats about how Lampard played in a particular game vs Mikel. I am not an eediot.

Take note of the man in midfield in the picture below. My loyalty is not misplaced. I would rather compare Isaac Semitoje to Uche Okechukwu before comparing Oscar to Matic.

This is not Oscar defence at all.

As bad as Oscar is, he has been better than Matic.

What I'm asking is what Matic brings to the table.
As long as Chelsea look defensively solid, Matic has done his job.

Oscar went from comparisons with Lampard to the best AMs in the world. . . to now comparing with a DM/CM. Na so the desperation done reach?

There are several permutations of formation Chelsea could employ so I am not about to start comparing a natural DM to a natural AM. Formation changes from game to game and even within 90 minutes so I am not foolish to start comparing two different types of player.

Oscar should tell us what he has brought to the AM position and stop looking for people in other positions to hide behind.

And I'm for sure not going to hold brief for a 4 year disappointment who can't even secure a nomination for young player of the year against a ninja who made EPL team of the season 12 months ago.

The yearly Oscar defence and excuses continues. . . .

Every year for 5 years, the same argument around this time of season.

Singing. . . .

"After the 5 years wey him do. . . . him do, him do"
"We still dey wait for the change. . . the change, the change"

Someone should alert me when Oscar gets at least a nomination for young player of the year.

Over his 3 year spell in Dortmund, he scored 13, 5, 23 goals respectively each season. Hazard posted 13, 17, 19. . .a progression of improvement before burning out last season.
Mkhitaryan = 41 goals and 49 assists in 140 games for Dortmund = 0.64 goal contribution per game.

Hazrad = 56 goals and 55 assists in 208 games for Chelsea = 0.53 goal contribution per game.

Mkhitaryan no penalties for Dortmund, Hazard 16 penalties for Chelsea.

Normalising for penalties, Hazard = 40 goals and 55 assists in 208 Chelsea games = 0.46 goal contribution per game.

Over a 52 game per season average that Hazard has played at Chelsea, that is an extra 10 goal a season contribution from Mkhitaryan.

Comparing Hazard to other players should not be done with numbers. He is not a high volume man. Gervinho and Moussa Sow consistently outscored him at Lille, yet he was better than them.

You're getting it all wrong mr. Remember this is Dortmund player we are talking about. Btw, Why can't he be used in place of Mata if he's that superb as you claim.
You will look for me and apologize at the end of the season.
JM can't come in a club and start high profile conflicts with powerful players after the season he's just had.

Whether immediately or in the long run, it is unwise to stick your neck out over Hazard vs Miki.

Miki has always been a high volume scorer and assister. You can't just put Hazard up against men with consistent high volume numbers because that is not his game.

First it was kagawa better than haZard then depay and now mikhitiryan better than hazard. Two games in epl he's nowhere to be found and they are saying he's adjusting to epl meanwhile, hazard kick the ground running in his first game in epl.

To anti-hazard, he doesn't need time to adjust to anything else he will be term pius ikedia.

Manure urinated fan una nor dey tire. Smh
Why did you have to bring up this unnecessary debate?

Miki will start games but first JM needs to play Rooney politics. He can't just come in and drop the captain for Miki.

Don't bring up unnecessary debate that you won't want to partake in later - Miki has more goals and assists in his boot than Hazard, so don't go tempting fate like you guys did with Neymar.

This one's na Story grin I didn't support Oscar I only know he is still good enough to play for Chelsea.

Okay let's assume since Napoli has no reason to bench any of there players for chalobah, he should go to a premier league side first and experience a lil bit of first team football.

it still means Chalobah has never experienced any First team football and chelsea is not the right place now for him to start playing 1st team football. He should either go on loan or take several seats behind oscar jaree.

If Chalobah is good enough like you paint him he should be displacing Oscar by now. It still shows he is still not ready to face the pressure playing for a big side like Chelsea. Conte is not stupid there is a reason he is not playing chalobah simply because he is still not ready.
He is rightfully the 3rd DM behind Kante and Matic. Should someone get injured, he will step in and prove himself like any other young player in a squad is expected to do. Believe you me, he has more than enough ability to play very well for Chelsea

What do you know?

Are you not the one that has been screaming in support of Oscar all summer? You couldn't know football if it hit you in the blockos.

Napoli has no reason to bench any of their players for Chalobah. All that one na politics. Even Napoli manager was unaware that Napoli had loaned Chalobah and didn't know who he was, so it was to be expected he would not give Chalobah minutes.

While I am not outrightly in support of Oscar starting ahead of Fabregas, I don't understand how everyone seems to be acting like it isn't obvious why.

Conte is trying to make us defensively solid and hard to beat. So he is building from the back. For this reason, we must be careful not to be masking an argument in favor Fabregas, when the exact argument applies to him on the defensive side of the game.

So Fab came in and made a perfect pass, then he should start ahead of Oscar. It's the same argument as saying Oscar had a good pre season so should start ahead of Fab. There are potential disastrous consequences of fielding Fab from the start and our defensive frailties from last season still exist, regardless of the consecutive wins.

Conte however is looking at the stats of last season, looking at the most dribbled player in the team and thinking, how many goals might we have conceded by Fab's inability to defend before he is able to find that perfect one pass for that one goal?

The solution actually lies right in between both players, a solution that Conte things he does not currently have.

In my opinion, it is easy to align thoughts with Conte on the grounds of sacrificing a bit of attacking creativity for defensive solidity.
Defence first, I agree.

But a midfield of Kante, Matic and Oscar has zero creativity.

It just highlights how visionless and utterly blind Oscar is.

One possible solution is Kante, Chalobah and Fab with Chalobah and Kante shuttling forward and back to create a platform for Fabregas.

Make we dey look sha.

So Thiago Maia has lost his place in Brazils Olympic team?

I saw that ninjas highlight reel and he was not half the player Chalobah is. He just gives slow ponderous passes in the DM position, yet Kia Joorabchian would convince some eediot at Chelsea to spend £15m on him.

Can Oscar just get injured, say for about 6 months.
Like I said a couple of weeks ago when ninjas were hyping Oscar after Werder Bremen match, it's the same shyt with Oscar every season. Niggas who should know better will get carried away with one performance, and by Christmas, Oscar would be useless. The next summer they will say "he has had a rest over summer and will shine this season". . . yet few games in, his uselessness will become apparent again.

If Oscar was in Fabregas shoes for that second goal, he would have spun around, tapped the ball twice and played a useless pass to Azpilicueta at left back. You can't give vision to a visionless mothaphucka.

As one Chelsea fan put it:

"One day Signor Conte will realize that whatever football conundrum is he faced with, Oscar is not the answer. That day he shall achieve enlightenment."
