We all know John Terry used a racial slur in the match but branding someone a racist is a different matter entirely. It is a huge millstone for someone in the public eye to carry for the rest of their lives so in effect I think the trial was unnecessary and Anton did not need to take it through the court system. A simple FA jurisdiction woulda sufficed ala Evra vs Suarez.

Only British legal argument and cunny cunny sense coulda argued their way out of what we all saw on tape.

The verdict reminds me of ma friend who texted me after the incident to say:

Ferdinand is black, and he's a kunt. . . John Terry was only stating obvious facts. . . grin grin grin

Kanu is legendary in Portsmouth for missing pre-season training.

Most times he wont even sign contract renewal during pre-season.

He knows his body cant stand up to the rigours of pre-season training.

Unfortunately his club is bankrupt at the moment and if he tries it this time, they will sack him just to get his £500,000 salary off the wage bill.

Justin Bieber is actually a good footballer. I saw him showing off his skills somewhere.

We wish AVB luck in his new project. Tottenham is a better fit for him where he can replace half the team such as Modric, VDV, Ledley King and the entire strike-force plus a new right winger, however he is talking some nonsense. He claimed he should be given credit for RDM's trophies because he had kept Chelsea in those competitions till RDM took over. I hope he is not talking about the Napoli game where he all but knocked Chelsea out. He also said he has "learned to trust the right people at the right time." I hope he was talking of some older players at Chelsea who he villified, stigmatised, chastised and scandalised. . . and not Abramovic.

In cases where the other spouse didnt give up anything why should he/she take part of his gratuity?

The OP didnt tell us their mother was a full time housewife who gave up her career.

So what if the woman was also a top govt official who earned her own gratuity, Should she still take the mans money?
Stop talking like old school man.

We are not talking of Tom Cruise wife trying to collect half his kishi.

These two must have made plans together for the last 30-something years.

They must have planned the house together and made sacrifices accordingly.

No reasonable wife is looking to spend her partner's money after 30+ years of building together.

This is money they should be using to plan their retirement and investment in their kids, not throwing owambe. No woman who's been around that long is trying to "chop money" and the man should not see this money as "chop money" either because his struggle in life is not over as long as he has a wife who is not yet comfortable and kids who are not yet able to stand on their own.

Not only has he cheated his wife by trying to "chop money", he has cheated his children out of a platform for the future. The foolish man thought his responsibilities in life are over and its time for him to enjoy, that's the problem here. . .

Of course!

Marriage is a partnership.

You need to read the bible bro.

My wife and I plan financially together. She would need to quit her work soon enough to raise our kids and she would always be worth half of everything we have. My brother-in-law has been inactive financially for the last few years due to cancer and he is also worth half of everything my sister and he have.

Marriage is a total commitment to partnership whether good or bad.

people divorce everyday. Women divorce men and men divorce women. it would be heartless to tell the man to continue living with their mother if he doesnt feel like it again. Would it be better if he stayed with her and stabbed or shot her?

The man spent his gratuity he earned the way he wanted, The woman too could have worked and earned her gratuity and spent it on a new boy toy Would it be right for the kids to go to the house of the new Boyfriend and throw her belongings out causing her physical harm in the process?

Nothing is by force in the world. A couple can marry at 12noon and by 3pm one decide he/she isnt interested again. Likewise they can live for 60yrs and still say they are not doing again. Fight no dey inside
Shuuuuush!!!

The wife is entitled to half of his gratuity.

Im sure the wife woulda earned her own kishi if she wasnt home raising 4 kids.

The man is an eediot. His life is evidence of that. He was a broke ars.e all his life, and the first time he got his hand on a little cash (which Im sure is pocket change to me and you), he decided to waste it all on renting a place for some 16 year old girl (when he already has a house), rather than setting his children up in life or treating his long suffering wife to some rest and relaxation after all the sacrifices she must have made with him over the last 30 odd years.

Why couldnt he cheat discretely on his wife all these years if he needed some "action"? It is in his old age that he wants to behave like a kid, throw his toys out the pram and rub disgrace in his wife's face. There are many great men out there keeping their families intact whilst still enjoying small action on the side. Im sure his wife would not have gone mad even if he was cheating, but the old fool decided to disgrace his whole family by making the matter public.

Chelsea should price well though. Im not happy with spending £25m straight from Brazil.

Piazon is a top guy as well but seems more suited to drift in from that left wing.

nateevs: @Ibime,

Kakuta, KDB, Mata and Sturridge though can play on the wings are certainly not wingers.

Kakuta has not played on the wings in about 2 years.

KDB, though played as a winger in the first half of last season for Genk, is actually a CM. He pushed for a CM role in readiness for joining Chelsea and he became a massive influence on the Genk team. I have provided the stats before on here. KDB was involved, either as assist or key pass, in 17 out of 22 goals Genk scored in the 2nd half of the season after he moved to CM. More effective than he was when on the wing.

Mata is our number one player in the hole.

Sturridge, I hear, has as a condition for signing a new contract, wants to play as a CF.
KDB's move to central midfield is an exercise in self immolation if he is going to be competing with Mata and Hazard for the same spot. A guy with prolly the best cross in Europe should be encouraged to hone his skills on the wing.

Andre Schurrle is not a winger anymore than any of these guys are wingers.

With the penchant for playing wingers on their weak side so they cut in on their strong foot, all these players are as much wingers as any.

Kakuta for example should be able to play on the right wing.

I believe with the system we are looking at with 3 men behind the striker, all 3 would be able to play the role of playmaker and winger equally and interchangeably, with the extra width provided by the fullbacks.

I would have liked to see more variation in the type of winger we employ and woulda liked at least one of the likes of Ola John/Silvestre Varela who are more robust and can give a coach a tactical option in certain games. We saw how RDM used Ramires to good effect in the Napoli and Barca games, now it would be nice to have someone with the physicallity of Ramires but the skill of a true winger.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Ibime(m): 5:42pm On Jul 09, 2012
On the face of it, the move for Andre Schurrle looks funny.

He cost £9m or so last season after a brilliant season with Mainz

His time at Leverkusen is not considered to be a success yet his price has increased past £16m.

However if you consider that he is a robust player who can play wings or forward, then his signing may be the clubs alternative to Hulk having probably baulked at Hulks asking price.

Also considering he played different positions for Mainz and Leverkusen, it may be a mitigating factor for his downturn in form with Leverkusen.

Speaking of wingers, we have Kakuta, Mata, Hazard, Marin and De Bruyne. Thats more than enough. With the signing of Schurrle, that makes 6 players for 3 positions which is good cover. With Ramires seen chiefly by myself as a winger, now we're talking seven. Perhaps Sturridge as well to make it eight.

Too many wingers, but all except Mata and Hazard are a gamble. I wish we hadnt signed Marin and signed one winger with BODY such as Silvestre Varela.

For central midfield, we have Mikel, Lamps and Romeu as the only trustworthy guys. I would like to see a cheap option to bolster those numbers, perhaps Manuel Fernandes on a free transfer.

Nigerian Government cannot survive without oil.

Large majority of Nigerians do survive without oil.

Can large majority of Nigerians survive without the services Government provides ie roads, hospitals etc etc? No!

Only an undeveloped country sees agriculture contribute 30-40% of GDP.

That basically means a lot of people are surviving for themselves. There is no Western country with more than 5% Agriculture contribution to GDP.

Randomness and Probability took their origin from gambling!...Attempts to model a purely chance event using stochastic models have always been proven to be inaccurate and are only used with a margin of error. What is the probability that Nigeria will attack Russia tomorrow? No one can fucking tell given that Nigeria has never attacked Russia before. Probability models will only come up with large margin of errors, of what use is any of that? Any smart mathematician WILL know that pure randomness cannot be modeled using mathematics! You can't tell the future unless you've got a magic blue ball and looking at models will only provide you with the probability that history will repeat itself maybe with a certain "drift". Every smart person knows there's no future in history, learn my friend, learn not to be so myopic!

You don't require fundamental knowledge of mathematics to thrive in the field of literature, arts, or even music, dammit! all you need mostly are a brilliant mind and an indisputable talent!...while mathematics may be useful to explain the theory, the knowledge of the theory does not Granger Cause the brilliant result produced in practice. The brilliant sculptors produced by Michael Angelo was not necessarily because he has an enviable ability to measure out contours, or surface areas, but for his indisputable talent and brilliant hands.

Even Mathematical Logic itself drives it's root from philosophy, if you are a smart mathematician, you will know that!

And that rubbish you mentioned about the ability to distinguish between right and wrong depending on mathematics, is just what it is, rubbish!.,.if you ever say that again, i may be tempted to issue you series of e-slaps!
Bros, do not speak out of ignorance.

Your hatred of Maths is seeping through.

There is nothing in the field of science that cannot be modeled Mathematically using Navier-Stokes equations as Governing equations. Whether you are talking of digestion, reproduction or diseases, there are Maths PHD's modelling these phenomena as we speak.

That you dont know this doesn't mean you should rant and rave.

You do not need Maths to succeed in life, but of all subjects Maths is the most fundamental cos every science uses it.

Literature, Art and such are very good, but they are secondary arts. The only primary art is farming, fishing and hunter-gathering. . . or in other words - science! wink cheesy
Education › Re: Why Do People Generally Hate Maths? by Ibime(m): 10:23am On Jul 05, 2012
Maths is based on rules and the application of rules. It is a lifelong learning process where if you miss out any stage of your education, you suffer later. People hate Maths cos they missed out parts of their education.

There are three key stages of Maths to master.

If you dont master arithmetic (the property of numbers using numbers), you will struggle when you get to algebra (the property of numbers using letters), and if you do not master algebra, you will struggle when you get to calculus (the rate of change of numbers using letters).

In-between these three cornerstones of Mathematics, you come across hundreds of rules and methods that you need to master whether BODMAS, proportional reasoning, Pythagoras, trigonometry, Taylor Series expansion, matrix augmentation etc etc etc.

The reason people hate Maths is because one Maths problem may require you to apply a combination of these rules and methods. At primary level, you may only need to apply 3 or 4 to solve a problem. At secondary level, 6 or 7. At university level, 10 and above, and going further, you may run into problems that require 50 or more operations.

Each of these operations are fairly easy. It is combining them that makes Maths difficult for people.

nateevs: So we must conclude now that Torres, may score 20 goals next season, it still will be far from a successful season.
You got ma point exactly.

Im not talking about the biggest teams either. I deliberately left out Manure, Spuds and Arsenal cos they give you some space to play at times. I deliberately talked about the likes of Newcastle, Everton, City and any team that has solid shape whether in the Prem or UCL. Torres is not consistently a difference maker in the games that decide the destination of titles. . . and Im not talking about scoring goals either. Im talking about strikers that contribute to the team when space is at a premium!

nateevs: Torres as a Liverpool striker scored against Chelsea, ManU, City, Newcastle, Arsenal, Everton, Tottenham, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, Benfica.
Old stories. We don't need lecture on what Torres did 2.5 years ago. We all saw it with our eyes. One year is enough to write a player off in modern footie. 2 years is extending it. 2 and a half years is simply taking the piss. Do you know that if Torres had not scored a hat-trick against QPR at the end of the season, we would be talking about a striker with 3 goals in 32 EPL games? That's more pertinent to this discussion, not what he did 3 years ago.

nateevs: I see. Did Del Bosque also know to not play Llorente - 30 goals last season - as well?

You cannot pass judgement on Torres on the back of Del Bosque's tactical decisions. If in the eye of Del Bosque, Torres was that rubbish, he should have played Llorente. One time when it favours your argument you tell us Del Bosque knew not to rely on Torres, yet every other time he (Del Bosque) chose to bring on a striker after not starting one, he brought on the rubbish one. How do you justify that?
Llorente was tired. It was well reported.

Villa would never be on the bench. Del Bosque is even ready to take a Villa with broken leg to the Euros so what are you talking about?

Torres was "carried along" by Del Bosque given his history with the team.

Soldado and Adrian were far more deserving, but you allow Torres to join cos he is part of the group. It was an exercise in political nous by Del Bosque, allowing him to rebuild some confidence in situations where Spain could not possibly lose such as Ireland and an already defeated Italy, without jeopardising the team's chance of success by including Torres in crunch games. He gave him a chance to build momentum after the Ireland game, but Torres performance against Croatia confirmed what Del Bosque already knew, namely that Torres is ineffectual except guaranteed the freedom of the park.

It's very easy to keep saying why didn't he score all the passes. . how many of those passes did others score?

I will blame the mid-fielders until our style of play changes.
Minus Drogba, which striker has ever blossomed at Chelsea in the last 10 years?

After JFH and TAF, we bought Crespo, Kezman, Mutu, Sheva, Pizzarro, Di Santo, Lukaku, Sturridge and now Torres. Not one single one of these strikers ever had a season to remember at Chelsea. Is this Torres' fault as well?

While some of us analyse what goes on season by season, some others look at systemic problem over time. We developed a system, with players that only Drogba can thrive in. Only Anelka also had "one" successful season as a striker and that was in the season we dared to change the system.

My point is Torres is a top class striker that Chelsea can get a lot from. However, just like previous strikers at Chelsea, we need to develop a system that brings out the best in them.
Nateevs chatting bollocks as usual.

How did Anelka score 20 goals in half a season in 08/09 with the same players behind him?

So its the midfield's fault that all the other strikers were on the bench for most of their Chelsea careers? Its not the midfield's fault, its Drogba's fault.

The same midfield that produced the greatest number of goals in English League history?

The same midfield where Lampard is the second highest assisting midfielder of all time in England?

Someone is asking me "how many of those passes to Ramires and DD did we see?"

Obviously if your friend AVB had left earlier, we woulda seen a lot more.

I guess Fabregas must be pants due to the fact that Carlos Vela, Eduardo, Jay Simpson, Marouane Chamakh, Park Chu Young, Bendtner and Jay-Emmanuel Thomas were flops.

or is it because RVP was the main striker?

What kind of nonsense would Nateevs not say to justify his madness?

When one striker possesses the shirt, all other strikers goals will suffer.

How many goals is the midfield expected to supply Lukaku from the bench?

Crespo scored a goal every two starts.

If you think he flopped maybe its cos Duff, Robben and Gudjohnsen didnt provide passes shebi?

Mata assisted 26 times last season. How many of those did Torres collect?

Am sure all his passes were long ball to Drogba innit?

6 goals in 32 league games? Torres should be ashamed of himself!

Torres = the man of unending excuses.

I've just told ma mate on the phone that even if Torres scores 30 goals next season, Chelsea wont win anything cos I know which kind of games he would score in. It wont be title-deciding games like Everton, City, Newcastle or those tactical UCL games etc where space is tight. His own would be only to chop awoof against the Villas and Wigans who would give him enough space to play his "switchback", only for Chelsea to drop points in those tight games where trophies are won and lost and where a strikers tactical contribution is vital.

Case in point: Torres did not contribute anything to Spain's Euro title win. Or is it against Ireland or 20 minutes to go against a 2-0 down and 10-men Italy that the title was won?

Torres had ZERO contribution to Spain's title. . . .the coach Del Bosque knows it and thats why he refused to play him in any tight decisive game, and his one attempt to do so against Croatia produced a cuarenta y cinco minutos horribilis that precipitated Torres' withdrawal after half-time.

This does mean he cannot play or score in tight spaces. That Torres scored a chunk of his goals when set free on goal does not equal "inability to play in tight spaces" . . . and to stretch that even further by saying that he "will not" succeed at Chelsea because of it is preposterous at the very least.

What Coogar and I believe is that Torres is a striker who thrives on quick, incisive build-up play because he has good ability of timing those runs that set him free on goal. Right now, we are building a squad of this calibre of players. I believe it will seem rather wise to see how Torres works in the "new team" before trying to be the guy who predicted the falling heavens.
if you watched the Croatia match, you would know why Torres cannot succeed when space is at a premium.

Everytime he should be looking for ball to feet, he kept running (abi "hiding behind defenders" ) in a packed defence where no through pass would ever reach him.

He was completely nullified, ineffectual and a liability to his team.

If Torres was to play in a team that truely dominates possession in the opposition half, ability to come short is a vital part of his contribution to the team, not running where there is no space.

The crux of the matter is that Torres puts his teams in tactical straight-jacket, and lacks the robustness to give his coach any tactical options.

It has little or nothing to do with Nando's ability as a striker but more to do with his compatibility with Spain's style of play.

Even without being optimally suited, he scored 3 goals - not fantastic, but a decent return all the same.

Would Del Bosque even dream of dropping Villa? Villa is a robust player. Torres is a luxury, a striker who "chops awoof" on the back of his team-mates efforts. An un-robust striker who can only flourish if given space as seen against Italy and Ireland, and who flops when there is lack of space as seen against Croatia. Torres didnt start cos he cant keep the ball. His performance against Croatia was atrocious. The dude is always doing stoopid dribbles which do not come off.

Fernando Torres proves he is the best striker in Europe

Putting two goals past Ireland and scoring his third against a well-beaten 10 men before clinching the Golden Boot thanks to not getting picked - the continent's conqueror rises

Honey, I’m home!

Welcome back, Fernando Torres. We missed you. It doesn’t matter that the slow race for the Euro 2012 Golden Boot practically went down to a six-way rock-paper-scissors tiebreaker as a continent’s strikeforce tripped over itself in trying not to win it. You’re the king of Europe once again.

Sorry. Rock-paper-scissors is a deeply unfair comparison. Torres clinched the prestigious prize not through random guesswork.

He set it up by scoring twice against Ireland – joining the likes of Jason Koumas in the pantheon of football luminaries – and once late on against a depleted, demoralised Italy who had already been staring dumbfounded with their tongues lolling out of their mouths for 30 minutes, and he clinched it by virtue of his coach being unwilling to play him very much. There could be no more fitting way to crown the continent’s greatest centre forward.

For that, clearly, is what the Spaniard is. His glory is reclaimed after a most exceptional year. Champions League, FA Cup and Euro 2012 triumph – he is a sensation by implication. grin grin grin

For Torres’ true power, we must now appreciate, is in what he doesn’t do as much as what he does. He doesn’t terrorise defences anymore; he doesn’t need to. He doesn’t start the big games anymore; he doesn’t need to. He doesn’t inspire reverent awe with the mere mention of his name anymore; he doesn’t need to.

Now he asks defenders politely if they would mind letting him through. Mostly they say no; just frequently enough, they say yes. Now he occupies 20-minute cameo slots at the end of games; enough, appropriately, for an episode of a sitcom and no more. Now his name lulls opponents into a false sense of security.

It. Is. Enough. Torres does all of this and no more; it brings big, shiny trophies and personal accolades. God help us all if he turned up the volume.

We know that there is more to come; quite aside from his scintillating years at Liverpool, he treats us just occasionally enough to a glimpse of the exceptional, just to prove that it is still there. Witness, if you will, the 90th-minute 50-yard solo run to eliminate Barcelona from the Champions League in Camp Nou. A truly special moment.

The Chelsea man has mastered the art of self-control. By drip-feeding us brilliance in the perfect ratio, he can load up his swag bag with trophies while still inspiring complacency in opposing back lines.

Indeed, one can extrapolate that, if he were to utilise all his potential, Torres would be so good that he would win the World Cup every year. The World Cup doesn’t happen every year, but he would win it anyway. Football wouldn’t be ready for that. Football would break. Torres isn’t flattering to deceive, he’s single-handedly preventing the sport we love from caving in on itself under the sheer dividing-by-zero weight of his awesomeness.

Who else could possibly challenge him for the title of best striker in Europe? On the evidence of this tournament, nobody. Not Robin van Persie, who proved as threatening as a duck with a slingshot. Not Mario Gomez, who forgot how to play as soon as things got serious. Not Aleksandr Kerzhakov, who took his Torres tribute act far too far.

Alright, maybe Nicklas Bendtner. But ask again in two years about that one.

But this is Torres’ time. Suddenly £50 million (€62m) looks a bargain for the world’s most effective lucky charm. Attention chairmen: Here is a legacy for hire. No price would be too big. This is a forward clearly bound by destiny to win it all no matter what.

His success defies logic. Those who backed him this summer did so out of hope or contrariness rather than expectation. But you could never bet against him again now. Fernando Torres is better than logic. Fernando Torres is better than everyone.

coogar: maybe now the charlatans on this thread would take me serious when i say
torres is no dud. chelsea made him flop with their lethargic build-up play
and the midfielders not releasing torres with quick passing....

xavi was finding him quickly to put torres one v one with the goalkeeper...
torres has now scored in the final of euro 2008 and 2012, won the highest
golden boot of the tournament with fewer minutes than his counterparts.

fa cup winner
champions league winner
european championship winner
european championship golden boot winner

Tores would never succeed with Chelsea. Last night showed why.

So it is after a bedraggled, dispirited and numerically disadvantaged Italy opened up gaping holes that you are coming to celebrate?

Chelsea fans dont need a man who shows up when the going is easy, we need a ninja who is a difference maker when the going is tough and space on the pitch is at a premium.

Who should we trust - (a.) the stat thats says Torres won golden boot with a paltry 3 goals or (b.) the stat that says his manager had no trust in him whatsoever throughout the tournament, trusting him only with a starting berth against the decrepit Irish and taking him off shortly after half-time against Croatia.

Torres can never flourish when there is no space cos he lacks the physicality or football sense to make a difference. Last night even showed why.

Despite scoring, Torres was giving the ball away like no man's business with some stupid attempted dribbles where defenders just barged him off the ball.

It just reminded me of the numerous times he gives the ball away cheaply for Chelsea. The dude is careless in possession. Pass simple ball, bros want dribble, and only 1 out of 3 of his dribbles come off.

This is the only exciting match Spain have played this tournament.

I find the story a bit funny. Weed is not addictive so there should be absolutely no problem quitting it.

rave2u: Actually they didn't get it wrong. Cyprus is divided into two parts. The northern side (Where the university is located at) is under Turkey. So we could still say its in Turkey.
Mehn, misinformation is a disease. No dey yarn opata here. No part of Cyprus is in Turkey or Greece.

You have two "tribes" in Cyprus. . . the Turkish and the Greeks. . . and no part is under Turkey or Greece just like no part of Belgium is under France or Holland.
