The Russian transfer window is still open. Still enough time to send the Spanish cancer on loan to any Russian team looking for a striker for the playoffs. Maybe we get lucky and he shines in the playoff and we can offload him for £20m at season end. A one-legged Lukaku is preferrable to the shekpe keeper.

I wonder if the signing of Pappis Cisse will affect Demba Bas returns.

Cisse has poor touch and technique and is unable to link up play, and is only useful as the last man to finish off the teams moves.

More increasingly, Demba Ba is either having to drop deep to build up plays. . . or when Cisse drops to link play, the move usually dies at his feet.

This is one of the reasons I tipped Senegal to flop at ANC and they did. . . . too many no 9's, not enough no 10s and no 8s.

Peeps like Mata are learning that regardless of how neat you are on the ball, if you dont have teammates that stretch the play, you cant pass the ball through the eye of a needle.

Chelsea has been playing the last 5 years without any out-an-out winger; and KUDOS to those midfielders (Lampard, Ballack, Essien) who have kept us competitive over the years even in the absence of natural width. Some people think its beans until you bring the baddest playmaker and ask him to create without width. Nateevs knows what Im talking about! I remember the days when he always used to ask why Lamps and Ballack could not pass the ball through the eye of needle and I extend the same question toward Mata.

If you throw in 1000 crosses, Torres might score 2 so shut it.

Its not like Chelsea is bottom of the table.

Torres should be outscoring Grant Holt, Danny Graham and Steve Morison at least even if Chelsea is not on top of their game.

Torres = Manager killer!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Pride Of London by Ibime(m): 7:38pm On Feb 11, 2012
I cant believe Im saying this but I absolutely cannot wait for Kalou to return. This team is absolutely widthless. By the time we wait for our fullbacks to run forward to provide the width, the opposition have already packed the box.

I reiterate what I said 3 months ago. . . . the decision to sell Anelka was the single worst decision ever made this season. Sturridge is no wide player.

DD and Kalou cannot return quick enough for me.

If AVB gets the sack, he will be the third manager that Torres has got the sack in the last year. First Hodgson, then Ancelotti, maybe AVB next.

Managerial lesson: If you wanna survive in management, never place faith in Torres.

You have to wonder how demoralised Lukaku and Sturridge must feel that a dud called shekpe keeper is keeping them out their positions simply because of his status. You must wonder how demoralised the rest of the team is when they look up and see Torres offering no options yet their teammates who have a lot more to offer are either benched or shunted on the wing. Under AVB, morale is at an all-time low at Chelsea.

A 37 year old DD would trump Torres handsdown. I cant believe some peops were still discussing Torres vs DD just 3 months ago.

Chasing 2 goals to equalise and AVB puts faith in dud who hasnt scored for 4 months.

Chelsea fans to AVB "You dont know what you're doing".

Dude is just waiting for his sacking compensation money. Its the easiest money to earn, thats why Chelsea managers enjoy getting the sack.

I think everyone would agree with my early diagnoses that AVB is the crappest manager at Chelsea since 1996. I wonder what "philosophy" or "strategy" he would use to explain this defeat. A numptie who only conceded title race 3 days ago.

Make una leave Torres matter jor!

The nigga has already proven that shekpe keeping is all he knows.

No further brain cells should be expended on Torres discussion until he scores 5 goals in a ten match sequence.

What I came here to ask is why DD is outpacing players in African Nations Cup. I thought dude had lost his pace.

Is he on drugs?

He better bring that hustle and bustle back to Chelsea cos we haven't seen him play like this since the malaria episode.

Howard Webb has been the best ref in the Prem for the last 7 years. If you dont know that, you're on a long thing. Maybe some peeps prefer Mike Riley. Howard Webb looks like the only ref who ever played footie to a decent level. He knows when to call a foul and when a player is just protecting the ball. If he made a mistake its cos he didnt see it properly from his angle.

Howard Webb didnt do us anything. If he gave the first penalty for Cahill on Welbeck, the score woulda ended 3-0 to United. He gave them a wrong penalty but he let us off a clear penalty as well.

AVB is a managerial novice. I voiced ma opinion couple months into his tenure. The guy is a tactical nightmare.

The only reason he should stay is because if he leaves, the businessmen that run the club will do something stupid like sign Fernando Torres for £50m or give Paulo Ferreira new 5 year contract (as Peter Kenyon did in summer 2008). I'd rather put club decisions in the hands of hapless AVB than trust our future to Ron Gourlay and Bruce Buck. Who knows, these guys might give Malouda new contract if AVB is not around to say no.

Onto the next matter. . .we've heard so much tripe from troglodytes about Essien, Lampard, Meireles, Ramires not helping Nando Torres but thank God for Jamie Redknapp who said that infact, Torres is not helping our midfielders. Every single pass they send upfront that Torres is supposed to control and bring them into play, he gets swatted off the ball like a fly and the midfielders waste energy running upfront to try and support him. Nando Torres, the spearhead of the attack is the MAIN problem why we cannot build up attacks. . . cos everything dies when you play the ball up to him. The dude cannot play with his back to goal.

nateevs:
Mate, you are over-reacting.
It's not AVB's fault Howard awarded two soft penalties.
Are you suggesting that United would not have gotten into the box if Romeu had been playing.
I would say it again:

Ibime:
AVB is a fooooool!!!

SOME TROGLODYTES PRAISED AVB's APPROACH WHEN WE LOST 3-1 AT OLD TRAFFORD. ALL I SAW WAS A SILLY COACH WHO DOESNT KNOW WHEN TO ATTACK AND WHEN TO DEFEND.
You should know who Im referring to.

Luck handed the eediot a fortuitous 3-0 lead. Instead of closing the game, the team was still playing gung-ho footie.

Against Arsenal, the team went ahead, oya close the game down. . . no, we allow them to score 5.

You're talking about penalties. None of those penalties happen if he had taken the sting out the game, brought Romeu on, slowed the game down and kill it.

All those penalties come from overlaps due to the team not keeping a compact shape.

By the time he brings Romeu on, theres only one goal in it and the team is frazzled.

I can point out another mistake. . . . he should have simply taken off Torres at 3-2 and brought Lukaku on to give the team an outlet. . . someone strong that can hold the ball up. . . . but no, clueless AVB has no clue.

As for those eediots supporting the dud, talking about "through ball", please tell me how Torres did not finish off the game when put clean through?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Pride Of London by Ibime(m): 6:30pm On Feb 05, 2012
AVB is a fooooool!!!

This dude is playing suicidal football.

Romeu shoulda been on as soon as the score went to 3-0 to close the game out instead of playing we attack, you attack.

I dont see what Malouda is doing on the pitch.

Need to bring Romeu on for Malou cos Rooney is dropping into the space between the midfield and defence and is sure to create a goal soon.

FA should kick JT out the England team. His presence in the dressing room would be caustic. Go look at the video of JT cussing out Anton Ferdinand and have a look at Mikels face. Mikel heard everything.

Petition to have Chigurh FC excluded from Nairaland FPL

-Amangala: FPL League cannot be led by faceless cabal

Dear Eldee,

This is a watershed moment in Nairaland FPL history. Never in the history of Nairaland FPL has the league been won by an absentee and faceless manager. We the stakeholders of Nairaland FPL have some pertinent issues to raise with you, namely:

• Chigurh FC manager Sauron has not been seen on Nairaland for 18 months. How did he get the Nairaland code?
• Sauron is not here to celebrate his FPL success but Coogar seems more than happy to celebrate for him.
• How is Coogar able to access the Nairaland league and comment on the progress of teams on an intra-gameweek basis?

These disturbing events are unprecedented in FPL history. We the stakeholders thus demand that you give Sauron a 1-week ultimatum to post on this forum to prove that he is still a member of this community. Please be reminded that we only compete in this league in keeping with an esprit de corps which necessitates communication and banter with fellow players. It is therefore sine qua non for Miguel Munoz to identify himself as an involved member of this community.

It will be recalled that 2 seasons ago when the League was under the proactive administration of Ibime Tamuno, the leader of the league Mubz FC was forced to identify himself as a member of this community and was subject to the same 1-week ultimatum we now ask you to extend to the current league leader Miguel Munoz. It will also recalled that a faceless usurper called Terryfic FC was kicked out of the league because he was not a member of the community and had received the code from Reeama Reeama.

We the Nairaland FPL managers refuse to be led by a faceless cabal. The banter and camaraderie we share on these pages are the raison d’être of the league. We cannot accept faceless participants.

We therefore request that you tell us how you gave Sauron the FPL code when he was incommunicado. We also request that you petition him to identify himself as one of us or face exclusion. We would also like you to clarify the relationship between Coogar and Miguel Munoz.

You have 48 hours to respond to this request.

Signed on behalf of Nairaland FPL managers

Captain Amangala
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Pride Of London by Ibime(m): 10:39am On Feb 02, 2012
According to Coogar, Torres can only play on counterattack if you slip him through one-on-one. That means Torres can never play for any big team because by definition big teams keep 60-70% possession whilst small teams defend in their own half negating any opportunities for counterattack.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Ibime(m): 11:51pm On Feb 01, 2012
Theres no comparison between the Tottenham defence and Arsenal defence. Only Arsenal defender that can make Tottenham defence is Vermaelen.

Is Jenkinson a player? Who is mentioning him here?

Gibbs is just a joke despite all the hype. Gimme Rose anytime.

Andre Santos is a joke compared to Assou Ekotto, the best left-back this season.

Sagna and Walker pata pata na draw

Less said about Mertesackher the better.

Koscielny is improving but no match for Dawson.

Djorou and Kaboul is like comparing Garba Lawal and Amuneke.
