Coupla comments on DailyMail website which make me laugh:

AVB is not of managerial class, at least at this level, Seems incapable of working with the squad. It has alienated the players. Please go back and look at Anelka preseason and first 5 matches. Look at Malouda's body of work when utilized appropriately. Also let us sit out a twenty goal scorer, Lampard, who playing parttime has managed to find the back of the net SEVEN times. On your bike you piker.

- Don Davis, High River Canada, 02/1/2012 00:19

The 16 goals they have shipped at home is already more than they conceded during an entire season for 10 years. They have managed only one clean clean sheet at Stamford Bridge in the league.

More importantly, they have lost three times in front of their own fans already, having been beaten on only five occasions at home during the previous seven seasons.

The defense is absolutely a joke ,i seen David Luiz in the 70 min very very tired his no way fit to be on the first 11. ROMAN dont waste your money on buying more players for this manager ,because his not a premier league manager and is not the players fault for this situation is the manager hi has no plan B another Phil Scolari every one going forward and nobody defending ,the way he treated Alex and Anelka is disgrace an insult to our club and i hope that he gets the boot before the end of the transfer window and bring Guus Hiddink please.SAVE OUR YEAR .WE ARE CHELSEA NOT PORTO. Until his gone i will support the reserves, academy and the girls ,

When you sell or loan Lampard that will be what breaks Chelsea your perfomance this season is almost as bearable as Calos ! To young to inexperinced, to gready and a club with all the money in the world and dosent look after its players !

FC Wendoworld has been making all the table-toppers his wife but thats because they were all in a false position. Ipukulu Marines have just exacted recompense on behalf of all real table-toppers.

As I have been stating for some time, Ipukulu Marines is on an upward curve. We are now top-10 going into the new year, and I promise all our fans that we will be top-3 by the end of the month, from where we shall launch our final assault on the no 1 position - Captain Amangala

Actually bros, I strongly disagree with you. PF played a lot better at right-back than Bosingwa. Conversely, Bosingwa played a lot better at centre-back than he does at right-back. Infact, Bosingwa plays a lot better at left-back than right-back.

Bosingwa has a glitch in his cognitive function which means he is not very good on his left-side. If a winger drops shoulder and cuts inside, Bosingwa would always let him go unchallenged. Meanwhile, I have seen Bosingwa mark Messi out the game when playing at left-back because when Messi cut inside from the left-wing, Bosingwa always reads his play as he is cutting in to Bosingwas right-foot.

There are many ways to skin a cat. Whether Lampard does not arrive at the same speed as Ramires, he will still arrive just as many times. Am sure Lampard scored in our last win against Tottenham just few months ago. One would wonder whether the same Lampard has not played in winning games against Spurs all this while.

My point is this. Any manager can paint you any which way when he controls the parameters. The manager always wins. Even SAF would have you believing Welbeck is better than Berbatov. . . cos its SAF's call to do so.

Just few weeks ago, AVB was playing a way that made Terry look like the worst defender in the world. Now people are praising Terry to high heavens again.

AVB played a losing sytem with Lampard in it, dropped Lamps just as he changed the system, then one unfocussed team performance against Wigan later, and folks said "let's return to what works".  grin grin grin. Before this the coach had played Lamps in a disjointed, disbalanced 2nd team against Liverpool in Carling Cup with no wingers (Malouda and Romeu on the wings behind Lukaku and Torres). You get the point. . . . a pattern is starting to be established i.e the team loses when Lampard plays.

Folks gonna tell me that an upswing in results over three games precipitated by a change in tactics is "what works" whilst what has been working for 10 years suddenly "doesnt work"?

Ramires has been 18 months at Chelsea. Im yet to see "what works" about him. Last season, he played whole season losing points till Chelsea was almost 14 points behind United. Lampard came back end of December and we managed to chase United down to the last 2 games of the season. The dude scored 13 goals from January to May and Chelsea scored the most points in the Prem from when he returned, whilst Ramires had lost his place by season end. Thats "what works", not these flash in the pan statistics.

Despite this, some peeps castigated him last season, yet whilst he was in the team, we won the most points in the Prem. Of course, when you are chasing a massive lead, every game counts so whenever we fail to cop three points, people would say "this Lampard". Even when our formation was skewed by Torres arrival and we lost couple of games due to poor team balance, they still said "this Lampard". Yet the numbers dont lie. Chelsea woulda won the league if it started on the day he returned from injury. This is "what works".

20 goals for the calendar year definitely works.

He doesnt fit in with the managers blueprint of 2 fast ninjas in central midfield to do the donkey work of 3 free forwards (see Porto). Fair enough, but dont paint the player into what he is not.

The other day, AVB tried to say that the reason he dropped Lampard is because Lampard plays too many long balls and he prefers to play with Meireles and Ramires who keep the ball on the ground. I could not believe my eyes.  grin Ramires keep the ball on the ground? Since when? Ramires will not even agree to receive a pass unless there is no one within 5 yards of him.   grin

And I quote:

"He is one of the greatest players in the world but this choice was three players in midfield because of their technical ability to keep possession and keep it on the ground without a lot of long balls."

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16062817.stm

FFS, even Meireles cannot match Lamps' ground-ball possession. Volume and Accuracy of passes puts Lampard miles ahead of Meireles (who is miles ahead of Ramires), and of course, if most of your passes are long balls, you cannot achieve the accuracy stats that better Meireles and Ramires.

So what exactly is AVB getting at here? Is he exhibiting stereotypical bias because Lampard is English and "English players play long ball"?

Paulo Ferreira needs to hold tutorial with EPL right-backs to teach them how to silence Gareth Bale.

Honestly, PF marked him better than any other RB this season. He used good body positioning to usher him inside all the time before nicking the ball off him.

Torres still yarning dust about how Liverpool owners "lied to him". Why dont that ninja just move on and try to clear his name with Chelsea fans . . . . instead of constantly trying to justify himself to what he perceives as his main constituency - Liverpool fans.

Anyways, some insight into his mental state from the interview:

‘It’s true that Vicente Del Bosque is worried about me and my form for Chelsea. It’s up to me to go back to being the striker I was before.

‘If I go back to how I was a few years ago, I will again play an important role in the Spanish national team.’

‘I am going to try to be very humble and get back into the Chelsea starting line-up,'
said Torres, who has seen chances limited thanks to the resurgence of Didier Drogba.

I am very angry with the Federal Executive Council (FEC) in Nigeria. The FEC has become a glorified tenders board. Any time they finish their meeting, they will announce to you that they have approved this contract and that contract. What kind of nonsense is that? FEC should be a high-powered group of people that can solve problems, not to award contracts. You can have a sub-committee to deal with contracts and bring them to the council. The way they sound when they finish these meetings it is like the only reason they go there is to award contracts.

AVB is showing serious error of judgement by giving JT his unequivocal backing over this racism issue. When JT is found guilty, AVB would find himself in an uncomfortable position and be forced to react as foolishly as Kenny Dalglish. The fly wey follow dead body enter grave, dem go bury am join.

We all witnessed the show of shame of Liverpool wearing Suarez shirts yesterday, making light of decades of anti-racism campaigns in football, and we can all see the reaction to Liverpool's stupidity.

One thing is for sure, I know DD can never wear JT shirt if JT is found guilty of racism. I wonder what Glen Johnson was thinking.  grin

Nateevs you need to gain some perspective about Mata though - was Mata not on the pitch with no shot on goal all first half? Did Mata have anything to do with the goal? It was Cashley to Sturridge for the goal.

Mata was anonymous as all the rest of the Chelski side today - Sturridge saved your blushes with a moment of individual brilliance.
Of course, we all know that when Nateevs is angry, he always looks for the same culprit!  grin

The team was of the mind to defend the lead, not chase further goals, otherwise Sturridge and Mata woulda stayed on. Unfortunately they didnt.

The team was lazy in their approach, perhaps writing off Wigan from the start, or exhausted from two weeks of must-win games. Thats what happens when you are not mentally focussed. Simples.

For someone as end-product oriented as yourself, I would've looked at Ramires stats (goals, assists, key passes) instead of looking at how many passes he makes. I'm sure Mikel can outpass Ramires any day of the week, but his end product is zilch.

A more useful comparison is his end product compared with central midfielders at other clubs.

You see Ibime, you're not very different from nateevs in the end - he is hung up on shape keeping, while you are hung up on showing for the ball. grin grin

(1.) Ramires hides yet he seems to show for passes to score counter attacking goals no?

He's not a possession hog, but he's effective at what he does. . . .better you get over your hang ups and accept him for what he is.

(2.) For all his 'hiding' he put the fear of God into the Citeh midfielders with his direct and persistent running.
(1.) Name one central midfielder you know who only shows for passes when counterattack is on?

I'll give you 24 hrs to think of that, then submit your answer.

(2.) Direct and persistent running straight into 3 players whilst options are to left and right shebi?

Running with your head down is not a positive attribute for a central midfielder.

He only had space to make runs in the 2nd half, 80% of which slammed directly into opposition players when players were all around him to pass to.

Is he the central midfield version of Theo Walcott?

One of these days, when I have time, I'm gonna make a video of all his moves in a game.

You must be mad if you think Ramires played better than Silva. Sorry to disappoint you, but Ramires was the worst midfielder on the pitch.

I had 2 mates round to watch the match. Lucky for us, the SKY remote button was able to rewind and pause, and show the amount of times Ramires gets the ball in midfield and run in a straight line into opposition traffic (that was mostly second half) whilst in the first half, I asked my mates to count how many times Ramires touched the ball and it was round about 12 times. We were able to pause and show how many times Ramires was hiding on the pitch whenever Romeu or Meireles received the ball. I wish I coulda recorded everything they said about Ramires.
