GEJ should sack FARIDA WAZIRI immediately and bring in the fearless IBRAHIM LAMORDE. I am SURE that Lamorde will go after the cabal without waiting for presidential orders. ^^ A case of crying wolf when there is none.

Moving on jare. . . . . . .
There is no crying wolf here. . . ACN states are the only states to allow the people protest freely without imposing curfew like all the South-Eastern States and some of the Northern states.

That is motive enough for the Government to try and impose their own curfew by way of "State of Emergency"

In a democratic dispensation we must always defend the right to protest.

The curfew imposed by PDP states is completely undemocratic and totalitarian.

I have never seen a curfew imposed in any truely democratic or Western country. Even during the London riots, we had no curfew. Anarchists and such protest on a monthly basis in the UK and we have no curfew.

Who gave the PDP Governors carte blanche to impose a curfew?

You guys are so funny & uninformed.

1. Our enocomy in the South East is more of entreprenuership than civil service & oil companies. Most of our income is not slary based. We work hard, and I mean that we work hard. If fuel increases, our goods & services will also increase. Market forces will simply help us to balance up.
You are the one who is funny and uninformed.

Market forces will not help you balance up anything. You will still make the same margin per sale, but volume of sales will be halved as purchasing power has been halved.

The only way market forces balance up is if earnings per capita keep pace with inflation. . .
Politics › Re: Why Is Eastern Nigeria Silent On Fuel Subsidy Removal? by Ibime(m): 6:07pm On Jan 13, 2012
There is no difference between an Igbo man in Onitsha and an Igbo man in Lagos.

Igbos in Onitsha would protest if they felt they had the freedom to, or if they had the civil society structures to organise those protests.

If the Igbo felt no need to protest, the Igbo Governors would not display overeager totalitarianism in imposing curfews. We have feudal overlords in the South East and less freedom of expression.

The reason protest runs wild in the West and North is that (a.) ACN have no interest in stopping protests and (b.) the anger in the North (over a Christian stealing their slot) cannot be contained.

South Easterners are not used to gathering to protest. Even in the days of MASSOB, any gathering of more than ten MASSOB members would be swiftly dealt with.

Also we have a lot of killers, Osiskankwus and ex-militants running around in the South East. Guys who would be let loose on the population by the feudal overlords. . . . and the population know it.

Put an Igbo man in Lagos and he will happily join the protest. Transfer the same Igbo man to Owerri or PortHarcourt and he will not even look outside his window. We got Government-hired killers out here man!

I vote against.
Nigerians stop borrowing. OTHER COUNTRIES HAVE A LOT TO SHOW FOR THEIR DEBTS. . . WHAT DO YOU HAVE? cry
You have nothing to show for your borrow-borrow. . . GHANA IS SURVIVING. . .YOU LAZY DRONES CAN TOO!

NO ALLOWANCES FOR GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS. Let them use their own personal vehicles/homes for a change. Or put them in living furnished quarters.  Basic allowance should be no less than 1million Naira a month for ALL politicians. . . INCLUDING JONATHAN GOODLUCK HIMSELF. kiss
You had oil subsidy. . .you did not use it wisely. You allowed your lootocrats to steal all the so-called subsidy.

Jonathan Goodluck is not responsible. THE IMF HAS REFUSED TO GRANT NIGERIA ANY MORE LOANS!!!

Learn to live within your means.
Next time concentrate on triming the allowances of your execu-thieves!
Next time, stay away from gay-marriages and stop being the #1 violators of human rights.

HA! No more loans for your lazy behinds!
The masses would be forced to turn against the lootocrats.
May all their houses be burned down!
If you were not a fool, you would know that Nigeria was not going to IMF until GEJ came in and re-started borrowing, first after clearing N14bln in the excess crude account left by Yar'Adua, then as if that wasnt enough, going cap in hand to IMF to restart a borrowing regime. . . . all in the effort to buy the Governors and others for election. Any debt we are witnessing now is simply a result of Retardeens lust for power.

According to former American Ambassador to Nigeria, Nigeria can easily afford subsidy. What they cant afford is the waste and corruption in Govt which GEJ has shown no inclination or backbone to tackle.

Nobody talked of loan when Yar'Adua was producing 800,000 barrells per day 2 years ago. Now Nigeria is producing 2m and its still not enough for the ravenous GEJ who goes to borrow ontop. If you follow the money, it is clear that GEJ has bribed Nigeria dry. When I spoke of his record-breaking waste as Governor of Bayelsa, some well-known retardeens on this site were quick to call me all sorts of names, but the exact same scenario is playing out with Nigeria. A leopard cannot change its spots. This "debt" issue is an issue entirely precipitated by the man in charge.

Cahill will work very well with Terry as long as Chelsea defend deep. They seem to have a good partnership when I've seen em with England. Any attempt to play high-line will expose both players lack of pace.

Secondly, it looks like Kalou is back in London to discuss a transfer with Arsenal. . . . one reason I thought Gael Kakuta shoulda been retained for the rest of the season to provide bodies on the wing in the absence of Kalou and Anelka. BTW, Kalou is going to prove a lot of people wrong if he is ever deployed as a central striker. He is too careless with the ball to play on the wing, but I back him to flourish as a striker any day of the week.

Could not think of a better club for McEachran to go on loan to. Swansea is the best passing side outside Chelsea, Citeh and Arsenal and also Brendan Rodgers has been his manager since Rodgers used ta manage Chelsea youth and reserves.

Chelsea seem to be pushing ahead with the deal for De Bruyne for summer 2012. De Bruyne has good end product (cross + shot) but I thunk we mostly need a winger that can really dribble and stretch play. I hope AVB shine his eye well and look at Hoillet. The reason I like Hoillet is cos he is really careful in possession. A lot of wingers these days can dribble the scales off a snake, only to give the ball away cheaply. I like wingers who look like they would not be out of place if played in central midfield and Hoillet is one of them. Question marks remain on his shooting and crossing though but Im sure he'll fix up in due time.

Finally, if Chelsea have diminished use for Lamps, they should not have denied Manure request to speak to him. £150,000 per week sitting on the bench is not efficient use of money. Methinks AVB is scared of Lamps backfiring on him. AVB should not hesitate to let Drogba, Lamps, Torres, Kalou, Mikel and Malouda go if we receive bids in January, even if it means we struggle for the rest of the season. You will not get any other chance to sell such high-earning players.

There were series of test conducted on the lad 3 years ago that proved he was 16 then. He should be 19-20 now.

Which tests?

The same tests that the corrupt weasel Blatter whitewashed so as not to offend the host country?

The same test that told us that Fortune Chukwudi and Stanley Okoro are 16 years old?

Andre Uweh, stop your nonsense. Your corrupt mentality is bred in the innermost recesses of the jungle called Bongo.

The lad Omeruo is a good defender, 10 times better than Fortune Chukwudi. I was somewhat perplexed that SiaSia kept returning to Efe Ambrose when we had problems in central defence, rather than turn to Omeruo.

The Republic of Congo should not surprise you on that list.

Despite their late start they attacked education with vigour in the 1970's. Almost everyone in the Angolan ruling class studied in old Zaire due to its better quality of education. Almost all of ma Angolan friends claim their dad or mum studied in Zaire.

Conversely, I am not surprised at the low level of literacy amongst Ghanians. Contrary to widely held views, rarely do you meet a Ghanaian with good spoken English.

I am surprised at the low level of literacy amongst Sierra Leonians - for so long a bastion of education in West Africa. Our grandfathers used to go to school in Sierra Leone, including the forefather of Nigerian education - Bishop Ajayi Crowther. It is also surprising given that Sierra Leoneans are the only other country who I know as "sharp guys" beside Nigeria. Sierra Leoneans have a stranglehold on many sectors of the Gambian economy for example and are known to flourish anywhere just like Nigerians,

Having been to Cape Verde, I would hold their level of literacy as amongst the best in Africa, however it is not a country where education is valued. Rarely do they pursue education past the basic level. . . . they'd rather concern themselves with funana!  cheesy

Well I never understood the rationale of Van Aanholt going on loan to Wigan where they have an established left-back in Figueroa although one of ma fellow Chelseans argued the opposite at the time.

Is AVB abandoning his high-line approach? He should not lose hope for the future just because we dont have pacy defenders at the moment. He can work in the present and still keep an eye on the future. His signing of slow-of-foot Gary Cahill signals a terminal end to high-line of defense.

Interesting subject. . . this is one of the issues that brings up beef with my fiance at-times, as I ask her to wear her hair natural or permed. . . but no weaves or extensions.

The dilemma is two-fold. . . black men (I speak for myself) do not like weaves, but also do not like short nappy hair (except the woman has the look to pull it off).

The comfortable medium lies somewhere inbetween such as the Lauryn Hill (twist) style, seventies afro, braid and afro, twisted blow-out etc etc.

I think there are many styles women can play with before resorting to weaves and extensions. . . . and even if you're hair is 3 inches long, there are some nice mohican-style cuts I see some girls rocking these days.
Family › Re: Help! Remedy For My Uncle's Gambling Addiction by Ibime(m): 12:28am On Jan 06, 2012
Well, I also have someone in my family whose life was ruined by gambling. Thankfully, he is no longer gambling (after 3 years of support from the family), the challenge now is to piece his life together having lost his job, fiance, house, confidence etc. Thankfully, he now has a part time job and can support himself small small as he works his way back to normal life. When the problem first started, I warned him severely that he would lose everything but he refused to listen, always going to the casino at night. Honestly, I dont think the OP has the patience or perseverance to see his uncle right because getting someone over this addiction requires you to sit the person at home for years, take away his car and other freedoms and slowly involve him in activities until he quenches his need for gambling over the passage of time. There is no instant remedy except tears, frustration (he will even steal from you), and a whole load of patience.

I also had a friend with two kids who is a severe frustration to his wife because of his penchant for gambling. It started as a joke back in uni days when one day we were watching football and someone suggested we should go place a bet - only £1. . . this was 2004 Champions League final won by Porto. Since then, we continued playing football every saturday and sometimes when we meet up to go play football on a saturday morning, he would make a quick stop at the bookies to place some bets. His addiction was so severe, sometimes you could tell he was not fully engaged in conversation cos he would be thinking which team to bet on. One day, he went to the cash point to withdraw some money to place a bet and left the money in the cash point cos he was so absent-minded. . . thinking about gambling and also ashamed that I was witnessing his addiction first hand. I would not be surprised if his wife has left him now cos all I used to get is complaints about his gambling addiction from her. I have not seen this fella for 3 years or more, and I hope all is well with him, but I remember what one of our friends said about him - "I would rather be an alcoholic than a gambler".

I don't have proof, but it is unlikely that a player will move from Porto to Liverpool on lower pay at the peak of his career. Even with the verbal agreement to double his wages, I don't think he'd be earning less than at Porto.

he failed to give any encouragement because he wasn't properly serviced.
he was never given a conducive environment to play his best - how can he show any small effizy.

this is like taking a newfie dog to nigeria without 24/7 split unit a/c provided.
the mongrel would give up the ghost in 20 mins.
Dont worry, we will know when the new striker is ready to carry our team when we see it. Until then, we would not expose ourselves to such risk.

Make we plan our game around a striker who seem to have lost his movement, sharpness and acceleration?

Last time I checked, Torres got Roy Hodgson the sack, so no the car was creaking under its previous owner.

Shebi Messi did not pop goals before Guardiola decided to build the team around him the false 9 position.

Ronaldo was not showing effizy before SAF decided to free him of all defensive responsibility?

Let Torres show some effizy first, then we'll consider it.

Its not hard. When he receive the ball, he should just demo small, dribble a few guys, enter box small etc etc etc.

Whether we play 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3, or WM formation, at least he should be able to trap ball properly before we hand him our future. wink

coogar:
torres is a spear-head. play him in a 4-2-3-1 formation.
Yet another parameter for the PARTICULAR striker?  grin

BTW, how come Chelsea are considering 6 bids for Gael Kakuta.

Would Gael Kakuta not offer better attacking options from the bench than the folks we paraded on the bench yesterday?

coogar:
one would think a player worth £50m should have the team built around him. if chelsea couldn't manage that simple task, why sign torres?
why would a club pay fortunes for the services of a striker and play him in a system that does not suit him.
Before you fork a girl, you must first kiss her. If she refuse to kiss you back, would you start unzipping your trousers?

Why should a team build around a striker who failed to give any encouragement? If we now build around him and he failed to deliver, how many millions (and points) woulda been wasted?

This is called prisoners dilemma. Game theory. Risk-reward ratio. Im sure all these mean something to you. Only a mad man would go about trying to mould team around Torres now.

2. No dear. I am not giving you a sermon about Meireles. It only just surprises me you will make a case for Dalglish and Redneck and burn your own in public. You seem to be suggesting that Redneck and Dalglish are doing better than AVB without taking all into consideration. Meireles was one of the first players AVB sold when arrived at Porto - I have made this point to Ibime before. Why then do you think Meireles will be the first player on AVB's list if not as a mere last minute alternative?

Chelsea were chasing Modric and even offered £40m on deadline transfer day thinking Spurs will accept. Meireles was never in the picture. We started to look for alternatives went it became apparent that Spurs were not going to sell. We had only hours. Do you know what it takes to transfer a player in hours? Are you trying to argue that if he had more time, we would not have bought another player?

Do you even remember that AVB wanted Alvaro Perreira and the club could not get him as well? As an objective fan, I expect you to be able to make a case. Would we have been better with Modric and Perreira in the side? However I don't expect you to, you are love peddling with the guys next door calling them heroes and leaving yours out to dry. I cannot understand your assessment.
And Ibime did not reply your point cos its the point of a fantasist. . . .especially as you are implying that Meireles was not good enough for Porto

Phil Jones was also the first player that Steve Kean sold when he arrived at Blackburn. . . . whilst Luis Suarez was one of the first players Martin Jol sold when he arrived at Ajax.  grin grin

What nonsense!

Bonafide Portuguese international who won Portuguese league 4 years in a row.

Meireles is a nigga who has been linked with multi-million pound moves for the last 5 years. It made economic sense for both Porto and Meireles to move, first because Meireles would not sign new contract, and second because wages are higher in Britain. . . . not because "AVB did not like him".

This is a ninja who won PFA Fans Player of the Year last year for Gods sake!

So because you perceive he is playing below par, you want to disown him on behalf of AVB? grin grin grin

Meireles had been linked with Chelsea since start of summer, Chelsea were just trying to bring the price down. If Meireles was a 'panic buy', why did AVB not sign Axel Witsel, Steve Defour, Yoann Cabaye. . . all players of similar quality and price range?

Now, you are here talking about Alvaro Pereira as first choice. Nigga, Alvaro Pereira is no Maradona! He aint no Lampard, nor Meireles even. He's a left-back primarily who plays part-time in midfield for his National team. . . . a Ramires type player, although slightly better technically. His role would be to do exactly what Ramires is doing now. . . . play half-way between central midfield and left-wing. . . to free up the left-winger to stay forward. He aint no midfield dan, just an AVB type of player!

Oh. . . . and Modric was never AVB choice. Lets leave that to Roman. Going by Porto template, AVB never uses flamboyancy in central midfield, except Modric is willing to play DM (which is what AVB asked both Lampard (refused) and Joao Moutinho (accepted) to do for him) whilst Ramires, Freddy Guarin, Alvaro Perreira, Fernando and other pacy workhorses man the CM roles.

As for Lukaku, lets just say that if at any moment AVB feels that signing him would squeeze funds that he needs, then AVB would be a liliy-livered punk to accept such imposition, especially considering that he has more leverage as a new manager.

This Torres seems to be a very PARTICULAR striker.

The man himself claims he must have enough Spanish speakers in the dressing room for him to perform, as well as fast midfielders and reh reh reh.

Debosky says 30% of his goals should come from crosses whilst Coogar maintains that 100% of them must come from counterattack through-pass to put him one-on-one with goalie.

Next thing Coogar would tell us that the parabola which describes the motion of the pass over the top has to follow quadriatic cartesian co-ordinates whose second derivative must be exactly equal to the number 3.147, otherwise the pass will not be good enough for him to score.

The match must be played at the particular time when the earth is 2/5th of the way through its full revolution round the sun, if not he would not score.

Oh yeah. . . . the goal which he is shooting at cannot be more than + or - 5 degrees in the direction of Mecca, if not he would not score.

That said, his all-round game was lively today and hopefully he is showing signs of revival.  cool

Make una leave matter for Mathias.

Some peeps accused Jamie Redknapp of nepotism when he said AVB should never bring off a 1 goal in 2.5 games player off against Fulham with 30 mins left.

Under constant attack from his manager, the part-time player has still bagged 9 goals.

What happened to the theory of the team going flat whenever Ramires doesnt start?

Ramires?

Oya!

Anyway make we celebrate the 3 points! Gaynners just lost.

Im scooting over to FPL to see how many of ma opponenents captained RVP. Suckas!  grin

Can our esteemed moderator Jarus please set-up a thread where we can monitor inflation as a result of this policy.

It would be informative for Nairalanders to be able to post the price of foodstuff as the year goes by so we can judge the wisdom of this policy and all its attendant effects.
