Today the same Lagos government is crying about the culture that was nurtured by Tinubu...maybe they missed the whitepaper from Tinubu, Raumdeuter and Ibime on the merits of agberoism.

There are Nigerian states with poverty deeper than what you have in Lagos, but you won't see agberoism and street begging normalised at this scale.

What a society rewards, it gets more of...Lagos chose to normalize and reward agberoism, and they've gotten it in abundance.

Agberoism now is better than in the 1990s in Lagos where they obtain you everywhere despite absorbing 20m people from other states and that's mostly due to the institutionalisation of agberoism and redirection of their vices into tax collection, providing some structure and accountability to criminal elements

It has been an outstanding success. It doesn't mean Lagos will absorb the whole of Nigeria from other failed states and continue to maintain levels of relative sanity
